We picked City Winery for our March 2020 wedding (you know where this is headed) and immediately loved the convenience of multiple spaces to work with and basically everything but DJ, Photography, and Flowers being part of the package. We were all ready to go and Kelsey had been wonderful the whole way through. 3 weeks before our date we expressed concerns about COVID and were told that whatever we needed to do they could work with (the benefit of working with a venue that is also a restaurant means they can afford to be a little flexible). 2 weeks before our date however, the decision was made for us and everything shut down. Over the next 18mo we worked with a few different planners but they were so kind and great to work with as we rescheduled not once but 3 times. I so appreciated their understanding that we are all going through a crazy time and I HIGHLY recommend them as a venue. We lucked out with shockingly warm October weather and we’re able to hold our entire small wedding outdoors. Melissa was our final event planner and worked through every detail and question. The staff is great. The food is amazing. My guests loved every minute.

8/12 Oh so nice! Dave Hollister was 🔥🔥 Backing singers and band were 🔥🔥 I was happy to see that City Winery reconfigured the seating in the area up close to the stage to make it a little more comfortable and less clustered. I ordered 2 drinks during the show. They were supposed to be the Spritz. The first one was great, refreshing and not too sweet. The second one was overly sweet 😵‍💫. I sent it back and it was replaced with another OVERLY SWEET drink. Rather than send the second one back I just added water to it. Problem solved 🤦🏾‍♀️ I love the intimacy of this venue so I will come back again and again and in every city I visit where there is a CW.

The performance of Kindred & the Family Soul is the reason for this rating. We arrived at 7pm, which was plenty of time before the 9pm performance. We were literally running to get in line to see the show. What happened?! We believe our waiter forgot to put our orders in when we initially ordered. The place was busy but not crowded. Our waiter didn’t write our orders, committed it to memory but something got lost along the way. I had the short rib. It was fatty. My husband had the burger. It was charred and it didn’t look very inviting. The chicken dish was spicy and overrun with garnish. The wine flight wasn’t great either. The dessert we had…apple pie flatbread. They need not bother with dessert. Kindred & the Family Soul were great! I’d not recommend dining her before the show. The neighborhood is bustling with better dining options.

Came here tonight for the Marsha Ambrosius concert. The concert was lovely but the service was HORRENDOUS. Show was at 9:30. We arrived at 9:20. Server came around 9:50 after asking at least 4 different servers of they were ours. My food came around 10:30. "Wine pairing" came after I finished my entree. My friend's entree wasn't available and her side came AFTER the check was delivered. Honestly, I have never received such poor service.

Had a great time, the space is tight where the performance take place, we were packed like sardines. The staff was polite, friendly and attentive. The menu is small and the food is NOT good , eat before you arrive. However the drinks were on point.

Went to see one of my favorite artist of all time KeKe Wyatt first time at this venue and I would say that I was very impressed. What a beautiful place the vibe was everything. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. One lady even explained the process of the wines to us, and went down a list of all the different types. The venue was very intimate, and I really enjoyed that part of it. The only drawback was food. Because this venue emails you a copy of the menu prior to you coming we already knew what we wanted to order and I was really looking forward to the kale Caesar salad. So to my surprise when I ordered it, I actually received a spinach salad, so when we told the waitress about it she wasn’t sure why it was spinach and never offered to inquire about it for us. We also order the grilled jumbo shrimp which were over cooked and we ordered the lamb meatballs, which was also very over cooked and dry. But thank goodness for the drinks. We ordered red wine and white wine and a margarita which were all very good. So City Winery you have a great place, great employees, amazing talent but not so great food😏

I went to City Winery's 11th Anniversary event. The weather was great so we (friend & I), sat outside. The wine & appetizers were great. The ambiance and vibes were equally amazing. We met some new people at the table close to us; good time with them. The staff were all friendly & attentive. The wine tastings did not disappoint. We eventually moved inside to have dinner in the dining area. The food was good. We had cocktails and they were enjoyable. I hadn't been to City Winery in some time and being there for their event re-energized me to go back more. They have a monitor to show upcoming events and that didn't disappoint either - I may need to become a member. Nevertheless, if you haven't been there, go. It is great for date night, friends meet up or go solo (I saw someone having a great dinner alone...nothing ever wrong with that). There is some free street parking or valet. You're welcome, lol!

A great place for many different things. A great wine bar, a intimate music Hall with national and international entertainment, a great event place, a wine education center and an average gastro pub. Indoor and outdoor seating including private party spaces. The entertainment includes well known performers who follow a city winery circuit. People such as Aaron Neville, The subdudes etc They have a wine event about every two weeks

It was cousins date night and part birthday shenanigans for me! We had an AWESOME time last night! The band was lit! The comedian, Damon Williams and others had me laughing so hard I was crying!!!!!!! City Winery is a great place for food, fun, laughter and the gathering of friends and family! I had a ball last night!

Venue isn’t great… very very tight table to sit with strangers. Bistro table with 4 people crammed in. The food was okay. Small menu in the venue - idk if there was larger menu at the literal restaurant. Also the venue seemed to allow talking while performance - very very distracting. Also they don’t do tickets via email nor physical. So you have to wait in a long line to even get in. Chairs are not comfortable, hard.

This place is definitely hit or miss in terms of service. We were there a week ago and had a fantastic waiter, Brian. It was our first time visiting and he is the reason we went back a week later. He told us all about the wines and he was very attentive, funny and engaging. I literally had the best time. Because of that, I came back the following week with a different crowd and it was a totally different experience. Service was nonexistent. When we inquired about service on the patio, we were made to feel bad for sitting out there. We asked to sample some wines and that too became a big issue. I will say the manager got involved and got everything back on track, and she was GREAT, but the damage was already done. Last week I would’ve rated it a 10 out of five that is the only reason why I am giving it a four this week. They really need to have Brian train their wait staff because it had me running back from the burbs and driving an hour to get there again. I’m not sure I’ll be going back.

My first time there this past Sunday and it was by far the best place I have ever been to for wine and food. The host was friendly and helpful regarding parking and reservations. Our waiter was polite and attentive to our needs. We did not have a hard time ordering food and the wine selection was great. The waiter explained their wine selections. I tried the mimosas and sangria and it was exquisite. Everything smelled and taste wonderful. Fresh food and refreshing drinks.

City Winery Chicago offers up great performances in a very intimate, casual setting. Had the opportunity to see Venezuelan singer Nella along with her three outstanding musicians. Set in the West Loop, there are plenty of places to park around Randolph street or pony up for a $16 Valet. The entrance and lobby is a mixture of stone and wood akin to a welcoming chalet. After a quick check for ID & Vaccines, attendees are treated with hosted table seating. Menu is simple, food & wine or beers. Sharing is recommended as well as going for the 1L pours. Ordered enough to graze throughout the night but nothing to large to hamper the enjoyment of Nella. The venue is really well planned for acoustic shows, and her sound just pulled the crowd in. Will be back to City Winery Chicago to enjoy more of the fine dining and shows.

Loved the City Winery. Went here yesterday for a concert and the concert was beautiful. The food was amazing. The only issue I would say is the spacing of the seats and tables. The waiters and other attendees literally have to squeeze in between chairs and tables which class distracting during a concert but all the staff were pleasant and the food was great. GREAT VENUE! We will be back.

We enjoy City Winery. Pros- We are able to see our favorite artist. Ticket prices are reasonable. Sally is our favorite host! She is amazing at accommodating guests she even remembers your past drink orders. Dylan who may wear multiple hats is amazing via customer service. Cons - The seating is very close; too close for my liking with or with a pandemic. I would go more often if they changed the seating. The food is good; however options are very limited. I wish they would change the menu more often.

Nice intimate venue. Loved my tickets because I was right at the stage and it felt like I was a part of the show. The food was pricey but good and I’d most likely do it again. Was able to meet some very nice people sitting with us at the table.

The BEST filet mignon in the city! Great service too! The ambiance is a bit dated, but sit at the bar. They have a pianist and a pretty good scene. GREAT wine list too!

Space is nice and intimate. The concert room has a very good sound. I stop in frequently because they always have intriguing music that is moderately priced. The wine carafe is ok and the service is very good. Love having this place in my neighborhood. Will return again and again.

Visited earlier this year for two nights of Candlebox. One of my favorite bands ever. I'm over 40, and I'm nursing a ruptured Achilles tendon (trampoline park mishap)[I'm over 40, remember?] so the prospect of sitting down and chillin' and just watching a band I love do acoustic numbers all night long was definitely something I could get behind. Initially I had a ticket to the second night only, but some friends of mine offered me a free one to the first night, so I went. My seats both nights were literally right next to each other, so I had the same view, but it was perfect. Great food menu too! I had dinner both nights I attended and good wine. I even got a really cool collectible, a bottle of wine with a label commemorating the two nights. I had to get one. Thanks so much for hosting these incredible events. I'd absolutely return.

Amazing venue, very well organised, friendly staff, fast service, great wine and AMAZING FOODS!!! The place has restaurant for dine in and a cocktail bar also has area where a stage for live entertainment performance and tables around. While the performance on going, they have a unique way to get the server attention by put a card on top a bottle.

You can reserve the domes for a minimum tab guarantee. Food and service were great. The dome zipper was broken though so they were trying to keep the opening closed with clamps, but it still left about a foot opening and cold air coming in. Another downfall, the ladies bathroom was not tended to. All of the toilets are automatic flush but none of them were working. There were also paper towels all over the bathroom floor.

I had an absolutely exquisite dining experience at City Winery. The food was nothing short of incredible, with each dish showcasing a perfect blend of flavors and artistry. What truly set this establishment apart were the impeccable wine pairings that elevated the entire meal to a new level. The staff's knowledge and passion for both food and wine were evident, and their recommendations enhanced the entire dining journey. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting and elegant, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening as my husband and I came to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. Amber Edge and Jennifer Ybarra did an outstanding job of capturing the beauty of the evening. I must commend the chef for their exceptional culinary skills. The way the flavors melded together showcased a true mastery of the culinary arts. The wine pairings were a revelation. Each glass perfectly complemented the flavors of the dish it was paired with, enhancing the overall experience. It's clear that City Winery has a deep understanding of both the wines and the menu, creating a harmonious symphony of tastes that left me speechless. The service was impeccable, attentive without being intrusive. Sarah, was so kind with a genuine enthusiasm and willingness to cater to dietary preferences or answer questions about the menu, which only added to the overall positive experience. In conclusion, this restaurant is a gem that offers an extraordinary dining experience. If you're looking for a place to indulge your senses with exquisite food and outstanding wine pairings, look no further. I can't wait to return again.

Great views, convenient location without going into Napa valley. The wines are quite tasty. If you purchase your tasting fee is waived. The wine is not over priced.

I don't have anything negative to say about this place. Beautiful scenery, beautiful staff and a vast selection of drinks. Our waiter was very attentive and really took our wine tasting seriously. You can try as many samples of wine as you'd like before you commit to a glass, which is nice. Although I ended up getting a cocktail since the wines weren't sweet enough to my taste, I definitely recommend City Winery!

Great place! My Wife and I live in the city and came over on Saturday before we met some family for dinner in Oakland. We had never been there before so we were instructed that we would probably want to do the wine tasting. We opted for that decision and are so glad we did! The employee, Peter that was pouring our wine was so nice, friendly and helpful in every way possible.

Great venue all around for wine events, live music, parties, dinner, etc. The space is huge and has a nice vibe. Love all the decorations. Lighting done nicely also. Super high ceilings and fun events hosted there. I would say the food is a bit pricey but good choices. Overall a good time and good space.

The venue was lovely, a great space for an intimate concert experience, the food service was not that great the portions are very small, no sides are offered with entree that was disappointing for the prices you have to pay for an entree, my spouse and I arrived earlier to enjoy the dinner experience but his food came out more than 30mins after mine and close to show time and that was unacceptable! There was no apologies/ no corrective action for such a long wait just for his platter Wagyu steak, his meal should’ve been on the house since we didn’t even get to eat together, I waited as long as I could but my food was getting cold!! The incident ruined our 1st time dining experience here! The table for dinning is so small and crammed and does not accommodate 4 people comfortably, since you have to share your table with other guests, I will not be dinning here again, also was odd to me being in a winery and there was no Moscato of any kind but they had Sangria 🤔. We will just go to see concerts here in the Future.

Not bad, but not as good as Ruth's Chris Steakhouse! I went here with a bunch of friends over the weekend and had the porterhouse cut. It was delicious but got cold quickly as it was on a regular plate. I've had the porterhouse cut at Ruth's Chris and it came out on a hot plate still sizzling! That's because all of the meat at RC is broiled to 1800 degrees F! I did however like the spacious dining rooms at Harris' even though the decor is more old fashioned and not as contemporary as other steakhouses. But it's a place to definitely give a try!

Here's what I don't get about this venue. During this time of peril, shows are postponed indefinitely but a refund isn't even offered. This crisis isn't the public's fault so why isn't that even an OPTION?! After all clears up, I will not purchase another ticket for an event to this venue... doesn't matter whose performing. This company has no regard for hardship during these trying times...what a shame.

Came here for a show. The atmosphere was great, a really cool place. We had a great waitress for our section (I think she went by Ki). The food we got was great. I can't comment on the drinks, since I don't drink, but everyone else around us seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the selection. It was overall a great time.

While the ambience of the patio is fun, and the host was kind, everything else about our dining experience at City Winery was mediocre at best. The waitstaff was very slow, e.g. no silverware on the table even when the food arrived, took us 30 minutes to order and then wait over another 30 minutes for the food after we had ordered it (a charcuterie board). No one told us what was on the chef’s selection board (which was not delicious and felt that it was slapped together). On top of that, when we ordered the Mediterranean dipping flight, our waiter offered us extra naan because there was so little on the plate (for which we were then charged for). I understand places like these are going through hard times. I just expected for this price range, the quality of service and food would be much better.

Great venue had a great time and really enjoyed our food. However the space is really cramped and was expecting more space as stated online for VIP it would be much better if there was only pub tables n chairs in VIP to accommodate guests who may be taller etc. Otherwise 5 STARS!
