This place is amazing for any blues fans or guitar players looking for great music. The manager at the time (Daryl) was one of the nicest host I have ever encountered, including the fact that we are from out of town (Toledo,OH). Not only giving us a tour after an amazing set that just got done, he went ahead and invited me to their next open mic. Buddy Guys Legends is a place I had been itching to visit ever since I first heard of it a couple years ago. I had an awesome time and can't wait to return on a Wednesday for open mic!

Came for the Chicago Blues Challenge with friends, fun time! Our waitress was great, the food is delivered fast and hot, and the drinks are good too. I hadn’t been here since attending a special trip with my elementary school, so this was a great experience returning as an adult. Excellent space and Chicago legendary experience!

Loved it! Buddy came down to visit tonight. It was so nice. The show was awesome. Food is good, service is lovely, very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. We got there by about 6:30 but show starts later. Can arrive by about 7:30 or so and get a good seat. We visited on a Sat. There is parking garages all around but we found it cheaper to just park on street for $4.75 an hour as after 10pm parking is free. Spot hero quoted the nearest garage at $50 for 4 hours. Will definitely return

After a long flight to Chicago, this was our first stop in our weekend getaway. We were greeted very warmly by the doorman and after a reasonable cover of $25 per person for a Friday night we began our night. Service was here was impeccable, the server was quick to taking our drink orders. We followed up immediate with some amazing food. The fried Catfish Po’boy was very very flaky, pretty much melted in your mouth. Both the Legend fried chicken sandwich and Cajun sandwich hit the spot with our group, both of the chicken for the sandwiches were moist and full of flavor. Overall, this place was definitely an amazing find. The service was quick, food was delicious, and the music was superb. This will definitely be a memorable night out that we will talk about for years. Can’t wait to visit again.

Can't tell you how much fun we had. Fantastic service and the entertainment top notch. Great crowd. Buddy was in the house and sang a number with John Prime. Opening act Ivan Singh from Argentina was a phenomenal new kid who we should keep an eye on.

Chicago's best blue music venue in the south loop of the windy city. On Buddy Guy's B-Day, some great spirits shots are on the house of the hottest blues. And sometimes you may even run into a famous rock n roll start like Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and others.

I took my son and his roommate for dinner. First time at Buddy Guy’s. Music was enjoyable from Matt Hendricks on Thursday’s. He plays the dinner slot prior to the bands that play after 8pm. Jambalaya was fantastic! Cornbread is a great addition to any meal. Really cool memorabilia from some amazing musicians and Chicago greats! Thanks for an awesome experience.

My friends and I had a fantastic time at Buddy Guys Legends. Our waiter, I think his name was Andrew, was fantastic and kept up with the crowd really well. The musicians they chose to have perform were fantastic (Downtown Charlie Brown, Mama Yaya, and the amazing Sheryl Youngblood and her band). Really appreciated the food, the seating, the affordable entrance fee and the attentive staff- you really can't go wrong with this location. It will definitely be on our radar for when we get back to Chicago.

Very nice establishment. Stopped in on a Saturday night. Food, entertainment and drinks were good. Menu is small, more basket type foods. Catfish nuggets and fries were yummy, also had the cornbread and that was good too. Buddy Guy stopped in this night and signed merch and took pics with patrons. The waitress says he does frequently when not on the road

Amazing club! Great artists! Very friendly staff. Good food. We were lucky to see the legend Buddy Guy himself when we visited. Getting a table might be a hassel since it was packed both the times i went. There is plenty of room to stand and there are seats by the bar too.

Amazing experience. Buddy showed up and decided to share a song with the crowd. I stumbled onto the place but went away a fan of The Blues. They have so much cool memorabilia that is presented perfectly. Whoever is curating the content on the walls is very skilled and knows her stuff! Blue Cheese burger was great. A very strong blue flavor so if you like that it is awesome. My friend bought a shirt and Buddy signed it.

Went to Buddy Guy for a FREE event on a Sunday to see a singer named Tracy Eileen. The establishment is pretty big and have two bars on separate ends of the restaurant. We had the gumbo which was very delicious and a couple of drinks. My gin & tonic was $12 and my friends drink, a lemonade was $17. Because it was Sunday, we didn’t stay for the second set but it was nice overall.

A must for those who like blues, or simply good music. Good food and drinks with fair prices. I recommend seeing who will play at the night and buy tickets in advance. Arrive a little bit early to get a great spot. No need for too early tough.

We came in for a quick beer early in the evening. The bartender was very courteous and the draft was nice and cold. After 8 pm there is a $15 cover charge but well worth it for live Blues music.

Had a Wonderful Birthday night out. Listened to a Jazz Set (Hot) and Blues Set later that evening. Keithen Banks and Ivan Singh performed, tore the stage up! Clean, fun atmosphere, staff were great!

Went there over the weekend because I was in Chicago and my dad said while I was there I had to check out Buddy Guy’s. Never listened to blues a day in my life so I had no idea what to expect. I was absolutely blown away. One of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had. The MC (I guess that’s what you’d call him) was a great host. Very funny and did a great job setting the mood. The opener was an up an coming artist named Nick Alexander and he was incredible. Then the headliner was Jamiah Rogers who I guess is known in Chicago as the “Blues Superman”. He absolutely killed it. Almost 3 hours of amazing music, at one point he had almost the entire club on the dance floor going crazy. Without a doubt a night I will never forgot and the next time I’m back in Chicago I have every intention of going back.

What an incredible experience at Buddy Guy's Legends! I recently hosted a business reception at this iconic blues haven, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was electric with soulful tunes filling the air. The staff was not only professional but also incredibly accommodating, ensuring every detail of our event was seamless. They went above and beyond to create the perfect ambiance. The venue itself exudes character and charm, with its intimate setting and walls adorned with blues memorabilia. It's a testament to the rich history of Buddy Guy and the blues scene, making it an ideal backdrop for any memorable event. I want to express my gratitude to the entire team at Buddy Guy's Legends for making our business reception a night to remember. If you're looking for a unique venue with soulful vibes, impeccable service, and a taste of Chicago's legendary blues, Buddy Guy's Legends is the place to be. Can't wait for the next opportunity to host an event at this gem!

To be there , matter of fact, many times there, always enjoying the blues, the people, the great food, the drinks mixed just right, the birth of all modern music, and on this night....The living legend himself......Mr. Buddy Guy was in the house.....Didn't expect it.....Wished he played that guitar.......

The name says it all. We were expecting a single artist and were very pleasantly surprised with 3. It is a great venue for blues and rock music. Very reasonable prices for beer and wine. The food menu is not overly extensive, and their take on cajun cuisine needs work, but it was all reasonablypriced.. Dance floor is ample.

I checked out Buddy guy's on a random Wednesday during my last trip to Chicago. Incredible atmosphere, great staff and service. Most notably was the quality of music! The musicians were incredibly inventive and put on a great show. Then someone mentioned that Buddy was in the house and he came up on stage, took a shot of cognac and sang a song!!! Buddy Guy is a living legend. STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND GO HERE IMMEDIATELY!!!

One of the best experiences in Chicago! There were three different bands and all of them were extraordinary. On top of all, Buddy Guy himself showed up!

If you like the blues you should come here. If you LOVE the blues it's essential that you come. The memorabilia is great, cigar box guitars, Buddy's Grammys and pictures of him receiving a medal from President Obama. Then there are the gifted guitars from rock and blues stars on the walls over the 2 bars. The prices are very reasonable and some good merchandise to acquire. Buddy might just show up also! But even if he doesn't he gets great other artists and then at the end of the main set he has people who wanna play come up. It's got a good atmosphere! Come to Buddy's and get the blues!!

Well, the place is actually amazing, with all that past history about Buddy Guy himself and the blues music. Despite the nice atmosphere and good food, service wasn't that friendly at all - security man at thé door was really harsh and damn rude with me, one other guy at the reception desk kept laughing and pointing at me for some reason I still don't understand, and at the end of the show wanted only to take a picture with Buddy Guy himself and I was hardly pushed out because I had to buy something in order to be able to take a simple picture with the man I used to be a great fan of. That's a blues experience place, but that's all. Don't expect people to treat you well as in the same way you'd treat them. Chicago is really nice in overall, but people at Legends are not. Not sure if that's because I'm a white Brazilian guy at a Chicago classic blues bar, but the thing is I could have had a way better experience there. That's a shame. Never going back.

This is the place to go for Blues. The gumbo & cornbread were good - the cornbread had such a buttery taste. The staff was willing to substitute tequila for the vodka in a drink. Three musical groups took the stage. There was some difficulties but everyone just kept the show going.

What an experience. The food was spot on. I had Shrimp Gumbo with Cornbread, a salad, Catfish Po' Boy and Key Lime Pie. The Gumbo was outstanding - better than what I had in Lafayette, Louisiana. The memorabilia is out of this world. Photos, awards and guitars from the very best musicians who ever played the blues. You could spend an hour just looking at photos. The place is immaculately clean. The night I was there, Chicago Blues HOF'er Carlos Showers was playing prior to the main show which consisted of Brother John and other musicians. To be honest, I was more into Carlos playing by himself. It was very raw and very good. Can't say enough good things about the bartenders and servers. This is a fun night out.

Buddy Guy a top rated guitar hero....who I greatly admire and have seen live performances many times. I ventured from sunny south Florida to visit the Legends club to support the business and have a great time while listening to the music. Actually , I traveled to Chicago with multiple visits to Legends. Many moons ago, I visited the club when located at 754 S. Wabash (still got the old t shirt souvenir photoed below with other t-shirts from more recent visits). It now located at 700 S. Wabash...remodeled and still both clubs utilized low stages with easy open access to view and listen to performers. Always good times at Buddys place. In addition the walls are adorned with Signature guitars from some of the greatest , as well as platinum album awards from other music artists. The staff facilitates a pleasant comfortable experience. They are warm friendly and attentive. I cant say anything but good about the Legends club.

Let me start with, our server, Becca, was a sweetheart, she was on point with her service, and let me emphasize on the; every attentive. Let’s not forget the bussers who were quick and communicative with you to clear the table. Apart from the service, the food was great and filling. I had to po’boy cat fish sandwich, I didn’t take a pic because as soon as I took a bite, I couldn’t stop. Also, those fries are to die for. My boyfriend got the gumbo, and he loved it. Got a bottle of wine, which was not pricey and a great selection for a Cali Pino. The music was AWESOME! Yes, for event nights, it’s first come first serve for a table, but it’s not bad. It’s as described in the ticket. We saw the Jimmy Burns Band host a great jam. When they were done, there was a jam band; a lot of great artists played from all over. Oh, let me not forget, Buddy Guy jammed with Jimmy Burns. What a great surprise. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. I will be back!

I was super excited about trying this place. But the woman at the front, behind the counter, didn’t see her name, long eyelashes— was so rude, I simply left. There’s no reason not to greet someone at all when they walk in or speak to them curtly and rudely when they are legitimately confused about how to be seated to what to do upon entry. I’ve been in customer service too many years to know when someone thinks I’m just some dumb customer and doesn’t feel like working. So they give you one word answers and roll their eyes instead of providing a warm greeting. Such a shame. It looked like a nice setup. I’ll make sure to let everyone know how unhappy the staff is. It’s a pandemic, but I won’t excuse being rude.
