Friday night in Chicago we walked right in and got seated. The food was really great and the flavors were authentic. Had all the staples, the smooth pad Thai with egg and tofu, the pungent papaya salad which had the perfect flavor profile, gyoza and vietnamese spring rolls were all delightful. Great service - excellent prices.

I love the service here. Everyone SUPER kind, sweet, and attentive. there's lots of seating options and it is so cool and slightly inconvenient to climb into tour seat but it feels homey. There's a bunch of noodle options so we had to get 2 and a carry and papaya salad as a classic Thai dish. Papaya salad looked good and it comes with one shrimp. I felt like it missed a bit of sweetness and chili for me. This one's very tart and felt like it did not have much flavor profile as I am use to. It's very refreshing and the papaya got an addictive crunch to it. The peanut are so good with the whole salad is palette cleansing. Mussman curry with chicken. The chicken was good perfectly in the curry which I'm very satisfied with. It comes with a side of white rice. Curry is nutty, sweet, and creamy flavor that's so good. It honestly surprised me when I got some pineapple because I never thought fruit be in a curry. There's bits of potato and tomato. MUST TRY. Pad khee mao with beef aka spicy crazy noodles which isn't so crazy spicy but def spicy if you hit those jalapeños which adds alot to the dish. It's thick broad noodles that are chewy and absorbs the sause well. The veggies and fresh Thai basil makes this dish very delicious and goes with beef the best. Over dish is slight sweet and spicy with umami from the sause. I recommend. Bamee Noodles in soup is also super refreshing with thin egg noodles and bbq pork. I did not like the pork. The noodle and soup is very good and light. It's lighter on the flavor and the egg noodles is very similar to wonton noodles. The cilantro in the broth makes it very clean and fresh. I enjoyed it Overall the food was decent with fair pricing and fair portions.

Really enjoyed my food here. My only issue was I requested no mushrooms and they were to prepare it again. I could tell they just removed the ones and replated my dish because I still found small cuts of mushroom in my dish. However, after I moved them to the side, the dish was awesome. Everyone in my party stopped after each bite to savor the flavor. I had teriyaki pepper steak and the steak was so tender it melted in your mouth.

Everything was perfect. The food was great, the flavours were really authentic and prices were extremely low for the amount of food which can be shared between two easily. The service from the waitress was also really kind and friendly as well as profesional. The ambiance in the terrace was pleasant. I had the Pad Thai and would deffinetely Would recommend it, the soup was also tremendous.

A friend and I had lunch here this past weekend while on vacation. We dined in the outside area and loved the pleasant atmosphere. Our server was wonderful. We ordered the fried wontons, tom yum soup, and tom kha soup, which were all delicious. Wonderful all around and I plan to visit again when I'm in Chicago.

My girlfriend and i were excited to eat here, since the outside patio is so cute and charming. But once we were inside, the place felt very dingy, and the table we were seated at was dirty. Halfway through eating, my girlfriend noticed black spots on some of her noodles (the BBQ Pork Bamee noodles). We flagged down the waiter and asked if those were supposed to be there/were part of the dish, and he said they were not and went to the kitchen to talk with the cook. When he came back, he said the noodles were "only a day old" and should be fine to eat, and that they just look weird. We had lost both of our appetites by then so we just ended up paying and leaving. Will not be coming back.

I was in the mood for Asian food but wanted to try a place close to downtown where I could enjoy the beautiful summer weather. I saw that this place has an outdoor seating area, and it's right in the middle of downtown with big buildings surrounding it. It was such a relaxing, cozy experience with an urban feel! The food was so flavourful! I loved it!

My first time here, I came on Sunday night with a party of 3, very fast seating and service. The seating is so cute. Crab Rangoon were freshly fried. Great customer service. Our food came out fast and it was great. I ordered the yellow curry (hot) and the hot was adding jalapeños. Also, points for peas in a yellow curry. (Sister got hot curry with chicken). After eating here a second time a think four stars is more practical. It’s not EXCEPTIONAL food, I had the hot fried curry (red) with shrimp and begged for spicy and this time there were no jalapeños and it really was just base level spicy. Service is still great and would happily return.

Just walked in because I was hungry. The place itself is nothing special. The food however was a different story. Never had a massuman curry in my life and still don't know what it is. But if they are all that good I could eat them anyday and anytime.

Was greeted immediately upon entry and was seated quickly! Very friendly wait service! Food was fresh and quick. Food was absolutely delicious - we ordered fresh Vietnamese spring rolls, Mussaman curry and Pad Woon Sen! All very delicious. To drink we had Lychee Bubble Tea and a Mango Smoothie. Definitely recommend this place for quick food, great, friendly service and a clean environment. Great for couples dates or group outings.

I ordered the basil dish & it was absolutely terrible. Too much beef, too many tomatoes and the basil couldn’t have been holy basil. One of the worst basil dishes in Chicago! They even had the audacity to charge extra for extra basil. What a joke, and they give you this mini container of rice. I totally wasted my lunch walking 10 mins to this place. Golden Thai in little Italy and I’m Vegan in Lake View is unmatched as far as true Thai flavor and actually using Thai holy basil. Will never go to this place again.

This was plan B for our dinner plans, but I really enjoyed it. Service was a bit slow but not annoyingly so. The outdoor space was pleasant and intimate. The food was very good and price points were reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to make this plan A next trip.

The Worst Tom yum soup with noodles I have ever eaten at any Thai restaurants. I ordered a Tom yum chicken soup with noodles that was listed on their menu for $14.50 and the description indicated that the soup base supposed to be sweet and sour, spicy, chopped lemongrass, and with a few other spices. When it was brought out to me it didn’t look or smelled anything like Tom yum soup. It looked and tasted more like a regular chicken noodle soup. I immediately asked the waitress if this dish was brought to me in error, she then brought it back into the kitchen and when it was brought back out to me, seems to me that they just added 2 dried hot red peppers, onion, vinegar and mushrooms to the soup and took out all the noodles. When I asked shouldn’t there be noodles in my soup, she said, it doesn’t come with white rice, noodles or anything. I did not end up eating the soup at all (picture shown below). It tastes awful and yet I was charged for the Tom yum chicken soup with noodles. (Note: they do have just the Tom yum soup on their menu for just $12.95). No wonder this restaurant looks very rundown. If I could I would give them a negative 10 rating. I have eaten plenty of Thai foods at different Thai restaurants in different states as I am a regular traveler.

The spring rolls skin was hard like a candy. They clearly have been sitting around for a while. And the pad Thai noodles was sub par. Yikes, those who gave this place 3 stars or more must be for the portion and never had Authentic Thai food before. Quality over quantity. Not going back.

This is the best ever Thai food. They know how exactly to spice the food to the point of neither bland nor too spicy. The papaya salad was so exquisite I ate the wedge of raw cabbage on the plate with the sauce. Don't miss to check this out.

Had wonderful dinner at this place just off the Mag Mile. Satay chicken dipped in sweet peanut sauce delight my taste bud. River North neighborhood features a few decent Thai restaurants. Dao Thai is definitely one of them. I also recommend Silver Spoon on Rush St.

This is the best Thai food that I have ever had and I usually don’t like it, but this place was amazing. The service was great and we got our food just as fast as a fast food restaurant. The environment was very fun and unique, I would recommend coming here any time you are in Chicago and will be coming back soon.

The food was good, I loved my pho. The mixed beverages were OK. The service was good.. My dinner party sat outside and it was a great evening for that.

Had a great dine-in experience with my friends. Cute little Thai restaurant place with beautiful ambience warm and friendly service. Loved their iced Thai coffee. They have mutiple food substitution options. Overall, a good place to grab a quick bite at a reasonable price. 20% gratuity added for party of 6 and above.

Ordered the Pad Thai, Dao's Noodle Delight, Singapore Noodles, and the Green Curry. The Pad Thai was too plain, however, the Green Curry was the best. The Green Curry had a spicy kick to it and came with eggplant pieces, spinach and peppers in it. The service was good and the decorations indoors were nice, although we sat outdoors in the patio area. The table we sat on had a big hole in the middle, so it may be prudent to get that replaced/repaired. Overall, the food prices are reasonable, the food is decent and the service was good.

We came here because all the other restaurants we wanted to go to were either full or closed. To our surprise it was a really nice experience. The outdoor seating had really nice ambiance, food and service were both good with no wait on a Saturday night. I ordered the pad see eiw with tofu which was good but would ask for marinated tofu for next time if they offer it. Hubby ordered chicken curry which he loved. We would definitely go back to try more menu items.

Food was better than my expectation. We had Pad knee Mao and thai curry. Both were very delicious. Quantity was good enough for two people for light dinner on single item. They do have patio setting available too.

Overall very reasonable price and common thai food with substitution options. I did feel that it was odd that I couldn't add levels of spices and some of the traditional sauces were not available, however, all the noodles were perfectly cooked and the vegetables were excellent. The atmosphere and different seating was interesting and fun, but it could use a little deep cleaning. It was a great stop for lunch if you need something fairly quick in and out.

This was some of the worst Thai food I've ever had, taking price, quality and location into account. It honestly tasted like something from the frozen section at Walmart that's been microwaved. The appearance is misleading. the interior and decor are upscale and comfortable and it's very close to the Magnificent Mile, where you expect a higher level of quality and competence. I honestly expect a higher level of competence in general when I'm in Chicago and I'm rarely let down so this was an unpleasant surprise. The service was very friendly and if we took the food quality out of the equation, this would have been a 5 star experience but if you run a restaurant, food is kind of the point. The prices were within the range of reasonable for a quality Thai meal but since it ended up being so bad that we just threw the leftovers away, the prices were unreasonably high. there were a lot of leftovers too because we just didn't like it. Actively avoid this spot

The best Thai in downtown Chicago! We always stop by for their peanut sauce and chicken skewers.
