Consistently a great meal! I’ve eaten here about about once a year for the last decade. And I’m always excited to go back. The service is wonderful and so is the food. This time, I had to eat a special gluten-free free diet- first time I’ve ever had to restrict my ordering here. I was concerned, but I had some really exciting options. Everything is great, you don’t need recommendations. Try as many things as you can.

I rarely give 5 stars! This place is amazing. The food was DELICIOUS. We ordered the roasted chicken, summer squash and the spring peas dish. The presentation was beautiful. Everything was seasoned perfectly. It’s wonderfully healthy and sinfully tasty! We finished our meal off with a few rounds of Japanese whiskey. Our server was extremely attentive and charming and really made the experience perfect. My tummy thanks you and we will certainly be back for more of your phenomenal offerings!

The meals on the menu are advertised as "large shares" so we expected reasonable sized portions. It turned out the duck we ordered was only two very small pieces. It was very good, but even for one person, the quantities were very limited and not what is expected for that price.

Longman & Eagle is consistently great. The food and service is always on point. My most recent dinner came with excellent whiskey recommendations from our server. This is definitely a place to take any whiskey enthusiast to as their menu for liquor is extensive. I would definitely recommend for a fun happy hour drink or dinner with friends. The menu does change periodically but if you do go, I recommend the pork shoulder with collard greens and sweet potatoes.

Really good. Really really good. Experienced the bar and all was lovely. Service, food and circuses. Kind staff made the evening. Grilled carrots, what the what…great! BBQ salmon - super good. Fries were fabulous. A small but mighty kitchen. Cocktails, wine selection all of it spectacular. Thanks L&E for a great night out.

This place had a cool, lowkey ambiance. Loved the selection of whiskeys and cocktails they had. I was leaning towards the burger but opted for the sloppy Joe based on all the reviews on Google Maps. I liked it a lot, my only suggestion would be a thinner bun (and maybe a brioche bun). I liked the meat and the jalapeños a lot though. Would come back for the whiskey selection and to try some of the appetizers and other entrees, I just feel like I should’ve gone with my gut order rather than listen to Google Maps (which is on me)

The service was great!! Burger was very good. Their "classic" sloppy Joe was nothing special. Fries were cold on all three of our plates. The gnocchi was fantastic, but we were told it was a shareable size.. there were only 12 pieces, which was a letdown. I'd give my experience 3 stars, but the service was top-notch. Great staff!

Really enjoyed our dinner here. $200 bill for five drinks, two apps, and two of the large plates - not bad of a price since I loved the service and the food! We got the dry aged steak and sausage stuffed pork belly. My husband and his friend tried a couple of the whiskey drinks each, splendid. It was very loud in there, so be prepared, but overall we had a really fantastic night and our server was a good man, giving us all of the recommendations!

Not sure why Google thinks this is a hotel. This restaurant has quickly become one of my favorites. Everything I've had is amazing. The food is comforting and yet sophisticated. Vegetarians will have great options. The menu is limited but this is a good thing because quality is unwaivering. The only thing that may deter you is that's the space is slightly on the smaller size. Great for dinner dates. Great whiskey selection

Sweet Jesus. Longman has been one of my favorite restaurants in the world for a long time now, but I haven't had many chances to go since the pandemic started. Let me say this: they haven't missed a beat. Our meal tonight was one of the best I've ever had. In fact, my only complaint would be that their menu undersells the amazing dishes that back it. Their mackerel? A must-have. The green beans with XO sauce? Exploding with flavor (even without _any_ animal products). The smoked trout? Delicate but forcefully delicious. The burger? I didn't know there was room for improvement on their previous iteration before tasting the lacy, juicy, perfectly seasoned masterpiece tonight. Their beverage menu is similarly life-changing. Longman has always been a fantastic place to have unique booze experiences, and their current cocktail menu is as deep as it is broad. There are takes on classic cocktails that should supersede the originals, inventions that are refreshingly novel, and the Whiskey for Drinking™ menu that remains one of the best deals in the city. Oh, and somehow the staff has gotten even friendlier, even more committed to making sure that this is an experience that you'll hold with you long after you leave. The post-Longman afterglow lingers just long enough for you to make another reservation and do it all again.

Great spot in general. Low key amazing brunch. Super underrated burger. Home to one of my favorite chicken sandwich’s and breakfast sandwiches. Obviously one of the best dinner and whiskey spots in Logan. But also the perfect spot for a first date or a 50th date. Just perfect, never change Longman!

Absolutely delicious options for brunch- definitely will be coming back for dinner! I got the Eggs Benedict which came with homemade English muffins, hollandaise sauce, thick bacon, and roasted broccoli. Not too heavy but very filling! Service was wonderful and the atmosphere is great

We arrived at noon for weekend lunch and 2 of the 4 non-vegetarian entree options were sold out. Oysters and trout dip were good, leaning salty. Chicken sandwich and breakfast burrito were unremarkable, fries were burnt. Service was sparse. Check your receipt because they will automatically add a 20% tip on the post-tax amount. Might return for happy hour drinks but there are better dining options in Logan Square at this price point

To the point.. The food was good. The service was not. The Details.. Me and my buddy came in around 1230 on a Thursday, the house had a decent amount of guests and for staff there was a bar tender and a server slash food expo slash runner. We kind of missed the sign that said seat yourself and we had a choice of table or bar. We chose table. They use Toast and you order at the table using your phone to scan the QR code. No problems there. It actually makes sense when you expect to be super slammed and maybe one or two people can't get to each table right this minute. Anyway, so me and my buddy order. He got a Mushroom Toast and a Burger with fries plus a Last Worm cocktail. I ordered the vegan sour cream dip with crackers and as my entree the red curry squash and a Longman Lemonade cocktail. The good part, the food I ordered was pretty tasty, my buddy didn't like the vegan sour cream, but he did comment the crackers were good, and they were. The bad, he got all of everything he ordered, but I did not. When the server slash expo slash food runner walked by our table, I asked politely where was my dish. She seemed pretty bothered at me and completely unaware I was missing something. She curtly replied, it's coming. The tone of her voice and how I perceived her attitude made me feel like I did something wrong. Then the good, when the dish arrived it was pretty darn tasty. I've been wanting to try Longman and Eagle for awhile now and I am glad I did.. unfortunately how it all went down was a let down especially with the prices.

4 of us ate there on a Saturday brunch. 2 of us had the standard breakfast and the portion size was large enough. They also brought an additional bowl of the potatoes. The other 2 people also had good sized meals. Food was terrific. I had an iced tea and it came in a tall skinny glass that didn't hold much liquid. L in all it was a nice experience.

Cute place. Kind of full of themselves. Service was good. Attentive to fill the water. Never rushed us. Very loud. Great for a bar. The food was limited and tried to be trendy.

Sunday brunch, Maddie D our server was excellent, thanks! Smashburger was outstanding! Others had chicken and waffles, breakfast sandwich and wild boar sloppy Joe, and mimosas, all very good, a little noisy inside but normal for area. Will go back for sure!

The ONLY complaint I could make is lack of in room coffee/tea service. The rooms have homey touches, and while being above a bar, offers solutions for the noise-sensitive folks. The location is EXCELLENT. Their hospitality staff always go the extra mile, we've never been disappointed.

It’s clear why the restaurant lost their Michelin star - the food and drink are excellent, however the service is awful. Past 2 times I’ve been here, both times no one was working the host stand and there was a backup of about 10 people while employees were just lounging around. After being seated, we did not have a server come over for 10 minutes until we had to flag someone down and ask for them to take our order. Quite tragic since the food is excellent, but the way it is being run is abismal. Anytime we wanted something, we had to flag a waiter down after minutes of waiting - they never once checked in. It made the entire meal frustrating rather than enjoyable. Will not be coming back.

Food was delicious! Bourbon Selection was amazing. Best Old Fashioned I've had in a long time. Service was top notch. Highly recommend!

We actually stayed at one of the Inn rooms above the restaurant. Excellent room, space, layout, amenities and we were able to order room service which was like having our own private room to eat. In COVID times this was exactly what we were looking for. The food was as good as it gets. We ordered multiple sides and 1 main dish all to share. We were stuffed but wanted to keep eating. Big fan all around.

What a great restaurant. We stopped by during restaurant week, and everyone loved what they ordered. There was a great variety for the different dietary restrictions. The waiter was wonderful and nodded approvingly at every order we placed; we felt great.

Had Sunday Brunch with the family and it was fantastic. We all had different entrees and shared and all were fantastic. Our server was the best. AND… the whiskey selection was amazing! Got a pour of the 2023 WLW. WOW. Highly recommended!

Great meal as always. Wild Boar Sloppy Joe and the Vegan Cashew "Sour Cream" and Onion Dip were delicious and Improved Whiskey Cocktail were all wonderful. Friendly staff and great ambience as usual!

So, I used to live right upstairs from LM&E when they first opened their doors, and for the first 3 years. Loved it then and happy to say It's even better now. AMAZING; whiskey selection, knowledgeable bartenders/servers, GREAT food and most of all, the best fries in the city... in my opinion of course. Oh and I'd argue the best Manhattan. Glad I stopped in, it's been a few years. I'll be coming back soon, save me a seat🥃🍟

Worth a detour. Love this place. Food, drinks, vibe, service—all excellent. And I have to say I like it better as a Michelin Bib Gourmand than as a one-star. The menu is more accessible in every way, and all the food is still delicious.

We came for brunch and had an excellent meal. We were able to bring our dog on the patio and the staff was great with him. We ordered the whitefish salad and the chicken with waffles- both were delicious.

Would highly recommend this place! My husband and I ordered to share and we had the Berries and Burrata, the Meatball, and the Halibut. All were excellent! The staff was super friendly and we enjoyed our server but we waited quite a long time between courses without seeing them during this visit I and we would have loved to order more drinks. We would 100% recommend this place!

Had a nice first visit after multiple recommendations. Great cocktail and bourbon list. Only bar seating available - so now point of view on food or service. Outside seating setup was particularly impressive vs the norm in Chicago. Seems they have good thing going! 🥃

Fabulous! The food is outstanding. It's not a wonder why they have more than one Michelin Star. The bourbon, whiskey and rye selection is unbelievable. If you're intimidated by how much they have and you're looking to try something new, tell them what you usually drink or like and they can recommend something for you. If you're looking for what you usually drink or like, they probably have it. It's right off the Logan Square blue line stop and the bus stop is right there too. The neighborhood is really quiet and nice.

Love love love Longman. We had the burrata and it was well balanced and full of flavor. It's also a long time late night bar favorite. It was nice to return and see old friends and know that they are still making amazing cocktails and have great whiskey specials!

Longman is a must. Breakfast on the weekends with my daughter is my favorite time to go, but dinners are also exceptional. I’ve never had a plate I didn’t enjoy. They also happen to be my favorite bar/cocktail menu in the city. It’s the perfect restaurant in my opinion.

One of the best brunches in Chicago. If you haven't been you will be a regular if you try. Great cocktails amazing food. Superb staff. It's the bees knees. Right in Logan square on Kedzie just next to Milwaukee it's an easy spot to get to from the L. Parking can be tough depending on time but the city has and for a garage I hear. This is a must stop spot in Chicago

ip) both were very mediocre in flavor. The bread and chips were the highlight of those dishes. Mind you we all shared everything. We then got the burger which, for the quality, was very over priced. Very basic burger I could cook at my house. The swordfish dish also came out and it was a tiny and tasteless piece that they tried to add flavor to with a bunch of garnishes (also over priced for $30). The chicken Milanese and the tortellini were the best plates that we tried. The tortellini was excellent but only came with 9 pieces at $18. So we paid $2 a tort which felt like a tariff. The chicken Milanese was the only thing I could not complain about due to portion size and great flavor. Server (Alfie) was fast and efficient but did not seem to care after we told her about how we weren’t satisfied with a couple of the plates. For 3 people turned out to be $150 without tip. Would NOT recommend to anyone unless they are looking for a chicken Milanese dish. SHOULD HAVE WENT TO “The Duplex” .

Went here to celebrate my daughter's birthday from Gr, Michigan & was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere inside. It was candle lit at all the tables & was actually beautiful but hard at times to read the menu due to lack of lighting. Our server was polite & it was a nice place overall. Some food was abit pricey, but relatively good over all in flavor. Might be back in the future to eat again soon here.

L&E’s fall menu under new executive chef Brian is an absolute game changer. He brought life back into this place, making it a must visit again in Logan. All of our dishes were well balanced, despite personally choosing mostly meat and cheese forward options (though there’s a ton of variety). Whiskey options were broad as per usual, complimented by the recommendations from the front of house. Make sure to save room for the peanut butter pie - it was incredible. Will definitely be making a point to come out again!

Something has changed for the better… I’ve been going to L&E for a few years now for the affordable beer and an extensive whiskey selection but the food always felt like something was missing. This past visit I went with two friends and all of us felt the food was absolutely fantastic, and commented how much of an improvement it was on previous dining experiences. We had the lamb schnitzel, BBQ Salmon, and simple greens salad and everything was delicious.

A real gem on the north side of the city. It is evident they have a Michelin star. The food was incredible. Fresh, great presentation and delicious. The drink menu has over 300 bourbons and some great house cocktails. They had a really nice decor and the outside patio was comfortable and fun. The service was good - the prices were a bit high but in-line with the quality of food and worth it.

The food, drinks (especially whiskey list) and staff make you feel like you are in your favorite neighborhood haunt, just with a more adventuresome menu. Brunch, lunch or supper, it's hearty fare, and there are a few vegetarian options too. Definitely worth a trip out of your way for a visit. Noisy at peak hours but that's true at most places. The Out Side Bar is a great hangout too. I can't wait to come back.

This place is amazing. The service is top notch. The staff is so nice. And the food is to dire for. You can hang out for a casual drink at the bar or get an elevated dining experience with the amazing selection of dishes. Not to mention the seemingly limitless list of whiskies. You are doing yourself a disservice if you are in town and don’t check this place out.
