I haven't been to The Halal Guys in years, so when I saw this location, I decided to give it a try again. Ended up getting the Beef Gyro Platter, the lettuce and tomatoes where crisp, and Beef Gyro, rice and white sauce were tasty as well. The staff was friendly and service was pretty prompt. Think next time I may get the chicken platter. === My latest visit, I found myself having a bit of issue with the quality of service on my last visit, the staff was not very friendly and actually rather rude. I doubt I will be visiting again. I would suggest the management maybe do some customer service training.

It is one of my favorite food joints and I come from the NY-NJ area (famous Adele and halal food). I picked up my chicken over rice, the only thing I was disappointed with was the big chunk pieces of chicken in my dish. Strict No ...!! Pieces should be small and soft. never seen those big pieces in my chicken over rice or in Gyro. other than that - it was good. they have 2 options, small and regular. I thought small would not be sufficient for me but don’t make it fool you - it's a good portion. Regular was too much for me and I ended up throwing some.

Food was good, however, there was no line but we were being pressured and rushed when ordering. I could not even assist my friend in ordering because one after another was asking me questions.

Good food but today when I came in with my family the younger guy trying to prep the food containers to put in the fridge decided he was going to use his mouth to open the cling wrap before he wrapped the entire bins of basmati which was also weirdly bright orange. ( after i had already ordered and had my food) these were supposed to have been fresh bins. Wasted food and that's disgusting. I was half expecting him to cut the cling wrap after he did that but he decided to wrap the food that was prepped instead. This happened between 2-3pm shift most likely around 2:30pm. Gotta do better I don't care how convenient it was to just rip it off like that. Not at someone's business. That comes back on your boss etc..

Not sure why the staff looked so unfriendly, and they gave us so little sauce on top of the food - compared to the other guests' food!

It was the best halal guys experience that I’ve ever had. Especial thanks to Kendall who was nice, polite and gave overall perfect service. Everything was so fresh the meat was so delicious. The halal guys is one of my favorites for a fast meal with no wait. A good experience thanks to people who work at this location.

So we were looking for something quick to eat after the show at the Chicago theater and we stumbled across this place. Tiny location but don’t let that for you, the food here was really good. The staff was very friendly and the food had so much flavor. We didn’t realize that this was a chain because it didn’t taste like your typical chain restaurant. Very good spot!!!!

So the food was great, like always. However idk who is managing now a days, but they need to retrain staff. I walked in, absolutely needing to use the restroom and the girl at the registers was so rude. She refused to give me the code to the bathroom until after I ordered something. She kept saying that she didn't know it, and it would print on the receipt. I informed her that it was a true emergency, and that I was ordering lunch but really needed to use it. She insultingly said to me that "the cheapest thing we have is a cookie," while avoiding eye contact. Basically blowing me off. I paid for a plate before even ordering it and she kept stopping me to ask what was going on it and rushing the whole thing instead of waiting for me to come back. When I did come back to the register, 2 things happened. 1: they didn't put enough hot sauce on it, so I had to ask for more. She CHARGED me for it even though I told her exactly how much I wanted when she stopped me from going to the bathroom. 2: a delivery person came in to use the bathroom and they gave them the code right away. I was so upset, but I wasn't even going to post anything about it because whatever, it's Chicago. But nah, she also rolled her eyes at me for asking for my hot sauce and dismissed me when another person came in! Completely rude staff. Won't be coming back to this location.

Excited to see Falafel on the menu I had to give it a try. Meal looked great, wasn't a fan. The rice was undercooked and falafel over cooked and dry I had to smother everything with the white sauce they give you to cover up the dryness in the Falafel. Was not worth the $14 and would not recommend.

Great Mediterranean food in a fast service setting, nice layout with inside seating. Falafel was especially good and they had large portions, soda machine was good soda and not watery as well. Wish they had a location in my city, great for a quick lunch or dinner if your out on the Riverwalk.

Very good and walking distance to many attractions. It was well portioned and prepared. I spent $12 and about $1 of tax on a platter which fed my fiancé any me. They had rather good baclava as well. It was chosen to accommodate muslim friends on a vacation. I do not know if the food is actually halal or if it is authentic, but it is definitely worth a stop if you just want good food. Just try not to get run over on your way there.

Tasty food - great portion. The atmosphere and restaurant could have been cleaner.

They gave me barely any rice in the platter. I can actually see the bottom of platter thing. For $20 each, it is not worth it.

This renowned spot is famous for its delicious cuisine. I sampled both the falafel and chicken platters, finding them flavorful and generously portioned. As a fan of milder spice, I initially took two strips of chili sauce, which proved to be too intense. I addressed it by requesting additional mayonnaise to balance the flavors.Staff, vibes, and food – all good here!

Halal Guys accommodated our last minute catering for 30+ people. The staff was super friendly and helped carry all the food out to our car. The manager even helped get me out of a parking ticket--what a hero!!! The food was made quickly and it was fresh and super delicious. Our whole department raved over how good it was. We will definitely be back to support this business! Thank you!!!

If your in the heart of Chicago looking and looking to try a taste of Mediterranean fast food cuisine, give The Halah Guys a try. The food was amazing. One of the best testing in the area. I recommend people to give it try.

I really liked the food but what made it even better was the staff being so positive and making the experience of dining in here an exceptional time for my family and I! We tried platter and sandwiches and recommend doing both the gyro meat with their chicken mmmmmm!

Hadn’t been here in a while and decided to go back. Food is now terrible, and you can definitely find better Halal Guys franchise locations (pretty much any location). They don’t seem to know that a gyro and bowl are not the same thing, so you’ll likely need to correct your order at least once. When you do correct them, they will be visibly upset and then drown your order in ranch instead of the correct sauce. Cannot recommend this location anymore.

After having the Gyros in NYC. I tried gyros here in 2016 and 2021, now trying again in 2023. This place maintains the same taste! 😋

Worth the money for a quick lunch and go. Great great location. Not the best taste but for $12 I am sold. Large plate I can eat 2 times, mostly go with small plate makes me extremely full. It is my go to when I want some rice downtown.

The staff is friendly, the place is clean, the service is fast and most importantly, the food is delicious! Their lamb is out of this world! Their beef is good.

One of the best location in Chicago . They are very clean and very fast with the order. I ordered one tray rice and one tray chicken and the order was ready in 15 min. They gave so much food it was good for more then 10 people. Great customer service

One of my favorites in Chicago. Food was delicious! Recommended the red sauce if you like spicy food. Can't wait to eat it again when I'm in Chicago.

Went to Halal on Wabash. Busy but staff was very friendly and efficient. One also came by the table later to ask if I needed more sauce. Food was fresh and tasty, more than I could finish. I bought the regular platter combo and was able to save half for later. I recommend only a several lines of the red sauce because it’s very spicy even for those of us who can handle spice. Place was very clean and tables were also well cleaned. I definitely recommend this place and will visit again in the future!
