First time visiting Keele. Found this lovely little tea room in 1950s style. Adored the high ceilings and collection of 1950s memorabilia. The music fitted perfectly with the environment. We had the afternoon tea, which was deliciously filling. The cake was so tasty I bought extra to take home 😋. Wonderful selection of freshly baked cakes 🍰. Service was excellent too. The staff were all very friendly and helpful ⭐

Absolutely fantastic place. A traditional and pure British authentic tea café place. It's located in the corner and heart of the town in Newcastle Under Lyme town centre. I came from Birmingham this morning for a business trip. Arrived too early and decided to have a coffee. While walking around to see if Costa or Starbucks but suddenly saw this place. Opened the door and early in the morning was packed with people from all ages. Looked great inside and a lady worker politely welcomed me and showed table. I had an Americano which tasted great. The atmosphere was incredibly beautiful. Gives you the feelings of 50's to late 70's with decorations through out. Prices also very reasonable and affordable. Definitely recommend this place and every time I visit this city I would visit and enjoy café food etc here.

Bygones Tea Room is one of the best tea rooms I've ever been too as of yet. Bygones happily rivals many tea rooms in Covent Garden by my standards. Their Eggs Benedict was marvellous, and their selection of cakes, teas and soft drinks/juices was also fantastic. The atmosphere is brilliantly in tune with an older & more classic Britain, a mix of comfort and appreciation of history has expertly been crafted here. I have visited a few times and will be doing so much more in the future.

Café with a historical theme. Household items from the twentieth century are displayed around the walls. Reminded me of my parents' home... I just had a coffee with cake which was filling!

We have been to Bygones a number of times in the past and the service is always brilliant. However during todays visit we felt that the service was just impeccable. Myself and my mum visited today as a special treat to celebrate the first week of my maternity leave. It was so lovely to spend time in a place where the staff were so happy, kind and attentive. We were served by a lovely gentleman whose name we cannot remember (sorry!) it was his first day but you would have never guessed. He made the visit extra special for myself and my mum and went above and beyond. There was also another gentleman who I recognise from previous visits who came over and had a lovely conversation with us too. It was so lovely that the staff took the time to make their customers feel so welcome. The food of course was amazing as always and arrived really promptly. Thank you to the staff, you made our day 🥰

The wife had been before and said how good it was, on this visit it was just how she had said. I had soup of the day carrot and red pepper with a smallish piece of bread with butter, the wife had Welsh rarebit with side salad very nice. The drinks were also very nice I had a latte and the wife had earl grey tea and she said it was one of the best she had had recently, definitely worth a visit 🙂

Booked in for Afternoon Tea and wasn't disappointed and we were so full we had to take some of the cake home with us. Would recommend this place and will be coming back to try other things on the menu. Really enjoyed the decor as well 🙂

Lovely place for a spot of afternoon tea, they also cater for gluten free and vegetarian afternoon teas. I'd definitely recommend booking in advance and pre-selecting your sandwiches. Lots of cake options for non-gluten free diets. The lemon blueberry cake was particularly delightful

My first visit but will definitely go back. There were lots of great options for breakfast, lunch and brunch. I had a coffee, fry up and piece of cake. Everything was nice and fresh. Service was fairly quick. Interior is quite quirky and retro. Generally found it nice and comfy, with a good atmosphere.

Been here twice before for Brunch and fancied trying Afternoon Tea. Went for the £20 per person option and took my cousin. Absolutely gorgeous afternoon, plenty of food, all freshly prepared and plenty of tea to drink. Good ratio of savoury and sweet. I can't eat milk chocolate and they were very accommodating, swapping it for white chocolate. Staff were very attentive and gave us boxes to bring home what we couldn't manage to eat. Would definitely recommend.

Not the cheapest place around for a breakfast, but nice all the same. The atmosphere is great though, seeing all the retro stuff everywhere - it's well cool. So if you are in Newcastle and fancy a bite to eat, with different surroundings, then it's worth trying out. Along with your normal breakfast, they serve a slimming world breakfast (which is basically an omelette), but this comes at a cost.. But if you have a loved one that likes to diet every now and again, then it's a good move and worth it to keep them happy, while you tuck into your fry up.

We held our wedding reception here. We are regular visitors to Bygones and we knew everything would be perfect on the day. Vilma, Steve and the team went out of their way to make our day so special. They put together an amazing three course menu for us, with plenty of choice and catered for special dietary requirements. They also ordered a range of beverages based on our requirements which was fantastic. The meal we had was absolutely outstanding and perfectly presented. All of our guests commented on the quality and presentation of their meals and we're super impressed with the quirky interior. We would like to say a big thank you to you all for making our 'big day' so fabulous.

The place takes you back in time with all the bygone ages items on display which are all around you as you eat your in house fresh prepared and cooked meal and it has a drinks licence & the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The quality of the meals are excellent. Me & my friend Rob go every week

I honestly think this is the best place to eat in Newcastle. Excellent Service. Excellent food. Quirky atmosphere and surroundings, which only adds to the brilliance.

Excellent café bistro venue offering a good selection of food and drinks. Vintage decor makes this a great place to take your mother or grandmother for afternoon tea. Attentive staff offer good service. Often busy at lunchtime so worth calling ahead to book.

Visited this little cafe/restaurant Easter weekend. It was incredibly busy but we managed to get a table. The menu is great and everything from cooked breakfast to lovely steak salad or even afternoon tea. I can't have anything with gluten in it but there's always a number of dishes I can choose from. Staff are very pleasant and accommodating. The atmosphere is lovely added to by all the 50's and 60s memorabilia available to look at and reminisce over. Well done guys you've certainly git a winning formula.

Lunch with the girls Thurs 10th Sept. Always a pleasure to eat here. Food is beautifully cooked and presented. The staff are very attentive and the place itself is lovely and clean. I will certainly book again. Thank you Bygones for a relaxing lunch.

A really welcoming and pleasant cafe. I have visited a few times for breakfast and lunch. The 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s bits and pieces around the cafe are really fascinating talking points. The food is enjoyable, always hot and plentiful and very well cooked. This is well worth a stop off if you are in town and you get plenty for your money. The staff are attentive and polite and it is clear there are lots of regular customers. Bygones really is well worth a visit.

The best cafe in the area service is excellent. Food is perfect and tasty, chips are amazing more snack based food is needed on the menu please 🙏. The setting and atmosphere is calm and interesting the artifacts of a bygone era are a lovely talking point. I love it and have met friends and family younger and older here and they all love it too. Well done to all of the staff and owners.

One of the nicest tearooms in the area. I love the decor and vintage theme, which appeals to all ages. Great that the menus are under glass at the table and sanitizer at the door as you go in - you need to wait to be seated. We have always found the food to be of a high standard. The choices available are excellent (something for everyone); cakes and scones are delicious and the service from the front of house staff is brilliant. I would definitely suggest you make a visit and judge for yourself!

My family and i have been to this lovely tea room many times before, during and after the pandemic. Each visit we have received a warm friendly welcome and amazing food. The staff are lovely and the owner is only too happy to share knowledge of the collection of bygone items in the establishment. When we visited recently it was very busy and had to wait a while for our food which we didn’t mind as we enjoyed the surroundings and were happy that the tea room had made it through the last few years and remains open in a town where so many businesses have closed down. Please if you have not visited Bygones and are looking to have a light breakfast or lunch give this amazing little place a try 👍🏻
