Food excellent, meal deal for lunchtime. Waiter very polite but kept forgetting our drinks and we never got our water. Yes would go back especially lunchtime.

Came here with my sister and both our partners. We all had the 3 courses from the festive menu! Everything was fantastic! We all enjoyed it, and can't wait to return

A beautiful place... from entering we were greeted and seated .. nothing seemed too much trouble.. two lovely starters shared then came the main meal ! Beautiful steaks cooked exactly as ordered ( compliments to the chef BTW) and to round it off a shared ice cream! A lovely night all round which completed our great valentines day !! THANKS AGAIN TO ALL THE STAFF AT MILLER AND CARTER ...WE WILL BE BACK !! ( and we'll try not to stay too late )😂

Warm and welcoming atmosphere. We booked online at short notice for lunch. Great lunch time menu & prices. The lady who served us was brilliant and very hospitable. Food was delicious. Unfortunately we were unable to leave a tip on the card payment. It's one of my favourite places to dine & I'm looking forward to our next visit. I did notice a few cobwebs in the window where we were seated.

We came here for lunch recently and would definitely return back. The lunch time special is very reasonably priced, with each course (starter, main and desert) all being decent portion sizes. I had 3 items from the lunch time special, the mushrooms to start, which were cooked well, and full of flavour, the cheese really came through for me, especially when added to the bread. I had the cheese and bacon burger for the main, and it was delicious. Loads of flavour without the greasiness you can sometimes get from burgers. I'd definitely get it again and recommend it. I had profiteroles for desert and I was disappointed by them, only because I can't eat chocolate and was told the chocolate came on the side but alas they are dipped in chocolate so I couldn't eat them. I'd have got something else had I known, but as I said, when I asked, I was told the chocolate was on the side. I would have sent them back, but the service was very slow, and I didn't want to have to wait even longer. By the time of paying, we'd been there almost 2 hours, which is too long for lunch for me. Due to the issue with the profiteroles and the slow service, I've removed a star. My partner had a starter (the prawns and avocado) from the main menu, which she said was really lovely but a bit lacking on the avocado. She had the steak sandwich and the apple pie from the lunch time special menu and said both were really fantastic, full of flavour, and would definitely get them again. Overall we had a lovely time, the food was cooked really well, the prices were great, and the staff were really friendly, polite, and professional, They maybe needed another person on as we did find it to be slow service. We will definitely be going back again, though, and do recommend coming here.

Brilliant experience for myself and my mrs. It was our anniversary meal, and the waiter (Mehmet) tended to our every need. The food was prepared and presented above our expectations. I have my steak blue, and not every steakhouse can do that properly. I can imagine its probably because its not a very popular option. But M&C did my blue steak to just how I like. Would recommend.

Lovely place, great friendly vibe in a gorgeous Tudor farmhouse. Fantastic succulent steaks with tasty side dishes. Steaks all cooked to our personal preferences. Our waiter Mehmet was brilliant! Kept the whole party happy and nothing was too much trouble.

Great atmosphere, comfortable seating and really great service. The drinks and food menus are extensive which is a large plus. The most notable thing is the steak obviously, the doneness is always done perfectly which is rare to find. Overall great for special events due to the pretty high price but the price is completely acceptable.

Upon our first visit to Miller & Carter, we were pleasantly surprised. Prior to our arrival, we made a booking which was highly recommended, especially since it was a busy Friday night with most tables already reserved. We also took advantage of signing up for the Newsletter, which offered us free wine upon our visit. Upon arrival, we had to wait in a small queue to be seated. There was no host at the desk initially, as the staff were busy serving delicious dishes and drinks. However, after a few minutes, a team member acknowledged the waiting guests and we were seated promptly. Our wine was served, and we perused the menus provided. We opted for seafood starters and decided to try the "cote de boeuf experience" at Miller & Carter for our main course - a highly recommended choice. However, to our surprise, there were limited stocks available, and our waitress Amanda had to confirm its availability before proceeding. We were delighted with our choice as the meat was perfectly cooked and even came with a Lobster Tail. It was my first time trying lobster, and I found it to be sweet and tender, reminiscent of crab but slightly sweeter, cleaner, and lighter. The experience included a bottle of wine and cost £100, easily serving two people. Amanda, our waitress, was attentive, personable, and never intrusive. She, along with the delicious food, truly added to the dining experience and is the reason I am giving a 5-star rating. We will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Food was fantastic. I will say the waitering service was a little to be desired. Alot of confusion was going on around. We waited for forks and water and I had 3 bent steak knives which looked like they were used as screwdrivers 😂🤣😂

Lovely meal in a lovely setting. The staff were doing their best and seemed a little short handed but we fully appreciated all their efforts to get our meal to us. I would have given 5 stars but the food had a few little issues that meant I had to deduct one if I was being fair amongst all the reviews I've left before. I'm sure when everyone gets fully up to speed again these things will automatic correct themselves and next time I will be leaving 5. I made no complaints on the day though as I could see how hard they were all working and that they were being tested. Hopefully others are fair too given circumstances.

The food was really good although I request my steak to be medium and it came medium rare. Didn’t complaint about it as the service and waiting times were horrendous. Even though we had a booking we had to wait in the bar to be seated and the bar was filled with dirty glasses. My friend requested the champagne meal and no glass was provided. When she asked for it the bartender was very rude and shouted saying that there were no glasses available. We complained to the manager that quickly solved it for us and was very kind and polite. However when we requested the bill some stuff was overcharged by mistake and we had to point it out to the waitress. If the service at least was average we wouldn’t have said anything. They definitely need more staff for busy nights and review their current ones. What was meant to be a nice Saturday night with friends ended up as a very stressful night.

The steak was really good, no doubt about that. The portion size was good and it was served promptly. However following our main meal it took over 15 minutes for a member of staff to acknowledge we had finished, drinks were empty and used plates were sat on the table ready for collection. We had multiple waiters throughout the night but were informed on arrival that 1 specific waitress would be serving us and we should ask for her. Once we had finished our main, she was nowhere to be seen but numerous other staff were standing around the bar area, chatting, laughing and not coming over to remove our plates. Eventually a waiter came and took the plates. We had to ask for more drinks, he didn't seem to notice the glasses were empty. We then had to request the dessert menu as he was walking off with the empty glasses. It took another 20 minutes for dessert to arrive. Again, by another different member of staff. We then ate dessert which was massively over priced for what it was, nearly £14 for 3 tiny desserts and a little pan of ice cream. We finished the dessert, waited another 10 minutes with empty plates waiting for collection and asked for the bill. That did come promptly, faster than all the other times and we left feeling disappointed, when money was required, staff were quick, all other times, it took ages. I would like to emphasis that the steak WAS good, but the service was really poor.

Firstly the management here was great at fitting us when we called them during a busy period when we could not find a booking online. We have been to several M&Cs as it is a favourite of ours. The food was fantastic, we ordered a few cocktails, some nachos to share, and a few steaks. Despite it being busy, the service was brilliant, all smiles, this particular one is run like a well-oiled machine. Staff are fantastic here and the manager takes the time to check on everyone. Will definitely be back here.

We booked a table for 8:30pm. We arrived at 8:15pm to book in, happy to get a drink from the bar whilst we waited. This wait took us until 9pm. The restaurant seemed very congested around the bar and front desk area as though the restaurant was trying to deal with more than it can cover. The bar area had some seating but these were taken by other diners waiting for their table along with all those getting drinks from the bar. Once we were seated the night did get better. The waitress was friendly and helpful, for starters we had Calamari which was very nice, mains let me expectations down. The steak was ok…. But just ok, I questioned whether I should have just stayed home and cooked my own. The fries were called “seasoned fries” seasoned with salt and nothing else from the taste. The Mac&Cheese as a side was nice as was the Stilton cheese dressing and Lettuce wedge. Overall I wasn’t overly satisfied and we agreed that we probably wouldn’t return to pay £40+ each for a 2 course meal with sides when the quality was comparable to pub chain meals.

Went for my 40th with my partner... It was amazing! We had the baked Camembert to start- it was very tasty and baked well, however the bread that came with it for dipping was only toasted on one side, which led to some unfortunate fishing for bread in a sea of gooey cheese! I had the 2 5oz fillets and they were cooked perfectly (blue) the beef dripping sauce was very flavorsome and the onion loaf.. Omg please if you get it.. Savor it! My partner had the t-bone (medium rare) again very good, cooked perfectly and we shared a side of Macaroni and cheese (needs a little more seasoning- just a matter of opinion), for dessert we shared a creme brulee... Holy moly... Wonderful! Great service, great food & a fantastic place for all occasions!

Went for my partners birthday and the food was exceptional only beaten by the service. We had the lovely Luiza who was polite attentive and thoughtful so much so she got the chef to put Happy Birthday on my partners dessert plate which was beautiful. I had not asked her to do this so how kind of her. I have to say we have not had service like this in a longtime. Thank you so much Luiza you made our date amazing .

Lovely restaurant and fantastic steaks. The steaks were cooked perfectly, could not fault them, not sure what the wedge added to the dish but each to their own! Spicy wings starter was ok but a little dull to look at on the plate. We would of scored the atmosphere higher if we had not been seated at a table that felt like it was part of the thoroughfare.

Our visit was mid-week in the evening, it wasn't too busy and had a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had the festive menu, which was good value. Food choice is good, quality is also good. This venue is not a place I could afford every week, but for special occasions, it is fine. Before considering this venue, one has to weigh up how much you're willing to pay for a steak.. this place is great for carnivorous appetites, with an above average budget. It's attempting fine dining. However, doesn't quite pull it off... I've visited here twice before on special occasions, and I would return again under the banner if a special occasion..

We went tonight for my daughter s 21st birthday meal. The food was excellent , husband had cod and chips and we both buttermilk and blue burgers. Crispy chips and grest voleslaw. For afters we had fudge cake to share and chocolate icecream. Fudge cake was massive!- came with fresh cream, chocolate sauce and cherries. Cocktails were 2 for £12,so was rude not to try! 😋all round service was excellent. Even decorated the cake plate with a birthday greeting xxThank you. We will definitely be back.
