"Rani
Kuthi"
is
a
representation
of
Comilla's
long-standing
custom.
This
place,
which
can
be
found
on
the
Dharmasagarpar
of
Comilla,
has
contributed
to
the
city's
history
and
heritage.
The
Tripura
dynasty
constructed
it
as
a
rest
house.
Previously,
the
wife
of
Maharaja
Manikya
Kishore
Bahadur
lived
in
the
"Rani
Kuthi."
It
is
currently
under
danger
of
being
destroyed.
In
1498
to
address
the
water
deficit
in
the
area,
Maharaja
Dharmamanikya
of
Tripura
in
India
excavated
a
large
pond
with
a
surface
area
of
23.18
acres
between
Kandirpar,
Badurtala,
Shaheed
Dhirendranath
Dutta
Stadium,
and
Nagar
Udyan
in
what
is
now
Comilla
city.
In
honor
of
King
Dharmamanikya,
it
is
called
Dharmasagar
Dighi.
Later,
on
a
1.23-acre
plot
of
land
close
to
Dharmasagar's
northern
shore,
Rani
Kuthi
was
constructed.
The
Directorate
of
Archeology
designated
Rani
Kuthi
as
a
protected
historic
site
on
April
22,
2009.
For
a
very
long
time,
Bard
has
been
utilizing
it
as
a
guest
house.
Here,
Bangladeshi
dignitaries
and
chiefs
of
state
have
taken
a
break.
The
clean
air
of
Dharmasagarpar
would
make
the
visitors
feeling
comfortable.
The
Rani's
palace
is
surrounded
by
a
sturdy
ghat.
A
different
mood
is
produced
by
the
birds'
chirping
on
the
large
trees'
branches.
Inside
Rani
Kuthi,
the
Bangladesh
Rural
Development
Academy
(BARD)
has
created
a
concept
paper
in
English.
"According
to
legend,
Dharmamanikya
erected
the
mansion
on
the
northern
bank
of
Dharmasagara,"
it
says.
However,
there
is
proof
that
Maharaja
Udaya
Manikya
gave
the
order
for
the
house
to
be
built.
"Rani
Kuthi"
is
the
new
name
for
the
residence.
Here,
national
poet
Kazi
Nazrul
Islam
and
poet
Rabindranath
Thakur
both
spent
time
writing
poetry
and
songs.
As
of
right
now,
this
is
history.
