An outstanding little restaurant. I had dinner here on Saturday evening and would say that it was as close to a perfect dining experience as you can get. The space is small, cosy, and beautifully decorated - intimate without being cramped. The food is just incredible. It is a small menu of inventive dishes centred on local, seasonal produce. Each is presented beautifully (see pics) and highlights the absolute quality of the ingredients and the skill with which they're treated. The chef is really fantastic - the dishes are equally simple and artful. I heard the owner, who is so friendly and casual, speak to a customer about her wine selection. The focused wine list reflects her knowledge and care. This place is a gem and definitely has a well-deserved place among Cork's top restaurants. Absolutely not to be missed!

My fiancé and I went here for my birthday dinner. Beautiful spot, very cosy. We weren't expecting it to be tapas style but were more than happy to get to try more things on the menu. The bread and burnt onion butter was amazing. A lovely little warm loaf of bread to start with the most divine butter ever. From the mains we chose 1 each and 1 to share: mussels and clams, duck confit, and stuffed courgette flowers. It was all cooked so well and tasted delicious. We finished with desserts, Basque cheesecake and French toast. Everything was so light which meant we could properly enjoy the meal. Grace, our server, was excellent and so attentive. We didn't at all feel rushed out of the place after we had finished our meal. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely delightful experience... superb food, lovely wine selection & the staff are both super knowledgeable and very friendly. Their brunch used to be superb but they've taken their menu to a whole new level with the dinner offerings. Absolutely heading for a Michelin Plate in the *very* near future.

Went here for dinner last night with friends and can't wait to go back again. This place clearly has an innovative chef that uses top quality ingredients throughout. Front of house were friendly and attentive the whole night. We finished off the night with a drink literally straight across the road in Dennehys Bar ( another Cork gem).

Right. The place is amazing, elegant, cozy and feels like home somehow. The staff couldn't be more mindful. They have the vibe you need in Cork. The food is completely different from the country where I was born, but it gave me the nostalgia from my mom's food. That means a lot. Everything cooked with excellence, fresh and tastefull. The coffee DOES taste like coffee. The mimosa.....a must try. They didn't know, but I had a really hard/sad week, and, I found confort and sympathy in there just by being there. Made my day. If you ever go there, be nice and enjoy the experience.

What can I say? This was the best brunch I’ve ever had. The staff were brilliant, food was excellent and I can’t wait to go back. Get these guys to Dublin asap.

You know when you follow a restaurant on instagram because everything they post looks amazing? Well this place really is that good! A delightful Saturday night experience in this small buzzy restaurant. Great atmosphere, super service, an interesting wine list and food, really good food, which is obviously cooked with understanding, care and passion. The best in Cork City for sure!

A lady in my hotel spa recommended this place to me, and oh my goodness I wish I knew her so I could thank her. This place is absolutely incredible. The French toast is the best thing I think I've ever eaten, and the duck and waffle was utterly Divine. Coupled with a mimosa, it was the perfect brunch. You get what you pay for, the food was absolutely utterly completely incredible.

One of the best spots in Cork for brunch AND dinner. I had the pleasure of experiencing both recently and enjoyed every second of it. Each menu item is so appealing, that it's hard to decide what to order. The best in local produce used to make every dish fresh, interesting and incredibly moreish. On top of the cuisine, Anne, David and the team work very hard to make each customer's experience memorable - friendly, accommodating, passionate and just good fun. Thanks guys!

This was a dinner that almost didn't happen! Long story short, the owner Anne received two calls from some random dude to cancel my reservation today and I was glad I caught that in time and restored the reservation. And the food certainly didn't disaapoint - fresh ingredients excuted with finess worthy of a Michellin star, and at a fraction of the price! What more can u ask for? 😊 if there is one restaurant to check out in Cork, it's gotta be this one 🙌

Friendly and welcoming. We only stopped for tea and coffee, but the food looked so good, we were tempted to stay until lunchtime when I would have ordered the crab cakes. Coffee was served in a cafetiere and tasted ok. Tea came in a teapot and was great. Toilet clean and well appointed.

Love this little gem, have been 4 times now for both dinner and brunch. Excellent local ingredients and good wine selection. Great staff! Wish they had more hours but it’s a small place. Look forward to many more meals here.

Personally I think this is the best place for breakfast/ brunch in Cork City Have highly recommended this restaurant to loads of people and everyone really enjoys it It’s a small venue but that’s part of the charm you may have to queue but it’s worth it. Favourite dishes would be the French toast with maple and bacon or the Poached egg on chips. Coffee and tea are served by the pot They have seasonal dishes or specials at times Indoor and covered outdoor seating available. Very nice staff and I am very much looking forward to trying their new evening menu soon

We went here for brunch and were pleasantly surprised - the food was delicious; it was the first time I got to eat a rump steak! The coffee was delicious as well. You get plenty of water with your order too, which is a nice gesture. The place is quite small, but cosy, definitely worth visiting!

One of the best restaurants we have been in Cork City and the owners and their staff are very friendly and competently. We can especially recommand the 51 for everybody who likes good food and drinks and the price-performance ratio is very good.

Having been a huge fan of the brunch, was really looking forward to trying the evening menu. What a glorious evening to sit outside and we were greeted with a warm welcome. We started with a couple of delicious cocktails and proceeded to order two items from the snacks menu and three from the larger plates. Everything was exquisite and I especially liked the duck confit & courgette flowers but everything was sublime. Really nice atmosphere, good music - couldn’t fault it! Don’t miss the chips with béarnaise as a side. We can’t wait to go back - thanks a million guys!

Very nice spot, they offer gluten free bread, but also their waffles are GF by default 🙂 the server recommended "Duck and Waffles" it was yummy and would definitely go back!

I live in the United States and I easily made a reservation for my friends who were honeymooning in Ireland. The couple contacted me shortly after their brunch experience and said both the atmosphere and food were AMAZING! The owners, Dave & Anne, made their experience one they will never forget. Thank you, 51 Cornmarket

I've heard very good reviews from this restaurant and let me tell you, they were correct. We got the French toast, duck & waffle with a side of brunch fries. They were super delicious! The French toast was well cooked and moist inside, with crispy bacon and a delicious butterscotch sauce. The waffle and duck was special too, the duck cooked to perfection with crispy skin and delicious egg Benedict on waffle. The chips were a surprise, my new favorite chips, never had them with egg Benedict and hollandaise sauce, will 100% come back.

Warm and cosy, friendly and efficient staff, delicious breakfast menu based around eggs, but of course if you don't love those little ovals of deliciousness, you can just ask to have them ignored!! Great coffee, tea, fresh chilled orange juice, and did I hear MIMOSA mentioned at the next table?? A return visit surely required to investigate. We ate there at 11 and didn't need to eat again until dinner. One for the "2-DO' For the record - we had 'The Mushy' and 'Eggs Benedict'

Outstanding. Popped in here for food, sat down and saw the food served to the guys next to us and thought I'd be paying a serious premium for the food served. Needless to say I was thrilled at not only the quality but also the price. It was more than fair for what was served and I'll certainly being going back on a regular basis. Congratulations, other restaurants have a lot to match with this level of quality. Shame that are not open for Sunday brunch...

👍 Crazy good prices on food and beverages. You sacrifice attentive service, but everyone I talked to there was pleasant and helpful. The food was good and there were actually a number of beers that I have not seen elsewhere in the Cork area. I would not say this is a must do if visiting from abroad, b...
