Very nice bar and restaurant on Cadillac Square. The place is very lovely and the food is a nice cut above bar food with something for everyone. It's a great location to grab a bite and a drink after work. I recommend it as a place to meet your friends if you're starting a night downtown.

We came into town and a friend suggested Central Kitchen + Bar. Saturday Brunch was a VIBE! We sat on the heated patio and had us a GREAT time! The R&B music was on POINT! We started we drinks (of course)! Irish Coffee (yum), the regular coffee (wasn’t great), the handcrafted cocktail that was similar to a Paloma but with Vodka instead (a hit), and the Mimosa with a twist with Pinot Grigio instead of Champagne (classic)! We ordered the Chicken and Waffles, which neither had flavor…literally chicken and waffles. The Chef’s Presentation Omelet was made with Ground Turkey Sausage and Goat Cheese, it had flavor but it was a lot of meat. The Cured Salmon Flatbread was tastee! The Arugula Salad was good. We also ordered the fries (not pictured)….don’t leave without getting the fries. Service was okay. We could tell that our server was overwhelmed. He forgot which table ordered what. Forgot our coffee order for maybe 30 minutes and we repeatedly reminded him. It definitely was crowded and he was the only one working the patio customers. We understood the demand and we were patient. Overall, this is a cute vibe and the next time I’m in Detroit I’ll definitely be back. Rated 4 stars for the season-less Chicken and Waffles.

Very nice atmosphere and service. Food is amazing. Get the fig flat bread, one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! Could have a more varied menu, but what they have is good. Very cool space and building and can usually find parking. I recommend for a cool time in Detroit

I went in thinking that I was going to satisfy my hunger with some food that would at least be edible. Well, I was mistaken. Have you ever been to a restaurant where everything you ordered was awful? That’s how I felt eating here. The best thing about this meal was the iced water. I mean, how can you ruin water, right? The “special” was supposed to be steak and eggs with mushrooms, potatoes, and two eggs fried hard. We couldn’t tell mushrooms, from potatoes, from steak; everything was burnt and a dark, near black color. The steak took so long to chew that I gave up on it even being digestible. We also had the joy of sampling the wings and waffles served with an jalapeño syrup. The syrup hasn’t been infused long enough so it was a waste. I had to request salt, pepper, ketchup, hot sauce, and regular syrup to try to salvage this food massacre. I’m not sure if they were overwhelmed (I was served the wrong plate at first) but the food was horrible. I was so disappointed. At least the bartender was heavy handed with the alcohol (which made for a terrible mule but after tasting that food, I was willing to drink whatever I could to cleanse my tongue). The customer service was excellent though, hence the two stars.

The food is outstanding. The presentation was beautiful and dishes were fresh. I really liked my Fried Chicken Sandwich. The jalapeño syrup for the chicken and waffles is so genius. Staff were helpful when modifying my reservation. They don’t really open up the patio windows when it’s colder. We would’ve preferred some ventilation. Overall, a cool spot downtown. Very convenient, perfect location, too.

The food was great, the atmosphere was chill, and the Grapefruit Mimosas were perfect with Brunch. The Wings & Waffle were good, but the jalapeño syrup isn't spicy at all, so don't get too excited about that. Whatever that spicy little coating they put on the chicken wings is delicious 😋.

I have had the pleasure of dining at Central Kitchen on numerous occasions for several year's now. I must say that each experience has been nothing short of exceptional. From the warm welcome at the door to the attentive service throughout the meal, the staff at this establishment consistently go above and beyond to make their patrons feel like family. It is evident that the team at Central Kitchen take great pride in their work, ensuring that each dish is crafted with care. The menu is well-curated, offering a diverse selection of delicious options that are sure to satisfy any one and every one who dines here. However, it is the staff's unwavering commitment to providing an unforgettable dining experience that sets this restaurant apart from others. They are knowledgeable about the menu, making expert recommendations and accommodating special requests with ease. Furthermore, they are personable and engaging, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes diners feel right at home. In conclusion, I highly recommend Central Kitchen for anyone seeking a dining experience Downtown Detroit that's not only delicious but also memorable. The combination of exceptional cuisine and outstanding service makes this establishment a true gem in the dining landscape. I have no doubt that my future visits will be just as satisfying as those that came before, and I look forward to continuing to be treated like family at Central Kitchen. Kudos to Kristy, Angie, Norris, and Andre for such phenomenal work ethics. Tasha Mack

Went here for brunch Sunday, 1-8-23, menu was delicious! Enjoyed the flat-bread, salmon, mimosas were very good! Our party of 10 enjoyed a variety of meals from the menu...so much so I took my party of 3 back on Friday, 1-13-23 and found the dinner menu to be not so pleasing unfortunately. Service was fine on both occasions. I had a the vegetarian tacos, fig flatbread and kale salad. I was not as thrilled with flavor nor presentation. Tortilla chips were covered in salt. Again brunch is where you'd wanna be in this spot. The steak was also on this tab leaving something to be desired. I hope they can review the items for the same wow factor as the brunch menu!

Don’t go. Simply don’t Overpriced burger $16 and chicken sandwich $16 with optional chips or upgrade to cold fries for $5.50 Service was the most lacking actually. After waiting 27 minutes for our cold food, neither server asked us how dinner was. Empty drinks and a late check. It was clean and hip. 2 stars is pretty generous but the burger was tasty. We will not be back. Terrible date night!!!!

This is a Black-owned restaurant and the food is delicious. I recommend the Spinach and Fontina ravioli. My companion highly recommends the kale salad. A nice hip eatery with great wine selections.

Found this while looking for reasonably priced meal and had a real great hamburger. Assuming you like tomato relish, you will like this also. Have already recommended Central Kitchen to others. The entire menu looked good but next time might try gnocchi. This was close to my ideal of a perfect burger. Service was superb. Atmosphere was lively and fun. Kind of felt like being in NYC.

I hesitated to leave a review because we come here quite often and enjoy the food, however, we always feel rushed through our meal when a certain waiter waits on us and we just so happen to always get him. Last night was no different. Not to mention we had a reservation I booked almost a week before and they gave us a table by the door where we froze. We are starting to become hesitant about going back again..

The menu is really unique with specialty items. I enjoyed my drink. The plain wings are literally plain. The Mediterranean wings are flavored heavily. Those who had burgers enjoyed their burgers. The seasoned fries were excellent. The Bruceta was not what I was expecting. There's no kids menu but our kids were accommodated.

Came here for brunch with a large group of people. Our waiter was really nice and attentive, we all got our food super quickly and the mimosas were stronggg. I got the salmon flatbread and the peach crepes, which were pretty sweet. After we cleared we also got an extra mimosa refill on them! This is my third time at Central and I’m sure I’ll be back.

Great service. The Fig Flatbread I ordered was super tasty! Outdoor seating with views of all the Christmas lights & directly of the tree! Tried the Honey & Smoke cocktail it was very good! Drinks are pricy but your paying for the ambiance & experience. Gratuity is automatically added to bill here.

My husband and I ate here for the first time last night and it was one of the more enjoyable dining experiences we've had in a while. The server, Angie, who was also the bartender, was absolutely amazing. She recommended the wings as a starter while we were deciding. The wings were unreal- and you have to taste the fried olives that come on the plate! The wine pours were generous, and the beers on tap were great. We opted to try their burger and fried chicken sandwich as a starting point for the restaurant and they were awesome. We subbed the house chips with a massive tray of rosemary fries with aioli and it was delicious. We will definitely be back and likely work our way through the whole menu.

First time here. Really good brunch. Simple menu, well executed, great flavors. The calamari appetizer was really good with oranges, chili peppers and snap peas. Chorizo omelette was a pleasant surprise where the chorizo was packed with good salty flavor accompanied with Pico de gallo. The Waffles and wings we got was also great with the wings being fried well while not being dry. The jalapeno syrup could have been more jalapeno 😊. Will come back again!

Made reservations for 330p. Got right in, although they closed the kitchen at 4p. Brunch was great, our server Noah was awesome. Prices reasonable EXCEPT the bland Mimosas.... I've had plenty Mimosas yet these were terrible... We requested pineapple juice, then sweetener, for the $12 a glass or $22 for the carafe Mimosa. Once the wine bottle was delivered to the table, it made sense why it was TERRIBLE. Central Kitchen PLEASE select a better brand of 🍾 for your Mimosa, ESPECIALLY if your charging $12 a glass. I googled this dry wine and it sells at H.E.B for $7.40. DO BETTER!!

Went for brunch, the atmosphere and service were very good. The Wings and waffles was as expected, simple yet good. The peach cobbler crepes were phenomenal, perfect balance of all elements. The avocado toast was the perfect size and was loaded, perfect vegetarian option. Lastly the brioche french toast resembled more of a desert, it was incredibly sweet and hard to finish alone, but the orange marmalade was a nice touch.

This was the best dining experience I’ve had in a while. The staff was so nice, energetic and accommodating. We literally got greeted by like 4 staff members after being seated, quickly, and without reservation! Our food was out quick and it was delicious! If you are in the downtown Detroit area I would highly recommend making a visit here.

I hosted a bridal shower for my sister at Central Kitchen on their patio, and it was beautiful and went so smoothly. Kristy was wonderful to work with, and so accommodating even when we had to reschedule the date because of covid. Alejandro helped us on the day of, and he was very friendly, personable, and professional. All the food was delicious (I loved the avocado toast, my sister loved her Mediterranean omelet, and my mom loved her burger), and I could not have been happier with the whole event. Thank you to everyone at Central Kitchen!

Brunch with a friend on Sunday...food was good, service was impeccable. We arrived for our reservation at 11am. Staff was still cleaning the restaurant around us while we were eating. We were told that we needed to be done eating by 12:30...so not the best atmosphere for me.

This is a lovely place. I had a little brunch here with a friend and it was nice. I tried the salmon salad (I'm pretty sure it's not on the menu) and we had a bottle of champagne with a side of orange juice ;) Portions are good, my friend couldn't finish their plate. And the salad was tasty, and light. Service was okay, she seemed friendly enough. Wish we had sat on the patio but they were super busy so they didn't have space. Make sure you make a reservation! This place gets busy on the weekends for brunch.

We went here to celebrate a promotion for a friend and it was a great spot for it! Enjoyed some of their delicious cocktails, I had the shrimp tacos that were superb. One bummer was that our appetizer came out at the same time as our dinners, but wasn't the end of the world. Would happily come back.

Great drinks! The restaurant is really nicely appointed, I love the bar seating. It is a smaller space so don’t expect to come here with a huge party. The bartenders are very attentive and are sure to get your drinks to you quickly especially when you sit up at the bar. The menu is limited, but the chicken and waffles are great. I will give it five stars if there was more menu changes or options. Also, sometimes there are certain staff members that are not as attentive.
