Constructed in the Indo-Persian architectural style, this mosque is a harmonious synthesis of cultural influences, with its origins attributed to Dewan Mohammad, the grandchild of Masnad-e-Ala Isa Khan. Located within the prominent Curzon Hall arena, this architectural gem not only reflects religious significance but also stands as a testament to historical craftsmanship. Notably, alongside the Shahbaz Khan mosque in close proximity, both these structures have earned a coveted place in the protected monuments list curated by the Bangladesh Archaeology Department. This recognition underscores the cultural and historical importance assigned to these mosques, marking them as heritage sites deserving preservation and careful maintenance for future generations. The intricate details and historical lineage associated with these mosques make them not only places of worship but also key contributors to Bangladesh's rich architectural legacy.

Musa Khan Mosque is located on the western side of the Shahidullah Hall of Dhaka University, and is less than half a km to the south of the Khwaja Shahbaz's Mosque. A high vaulted plinth with a three-domed mosque above and the grave of Musa Khan to its northeast comprise the mosque complex of Musa Khan. The whole complex was once enclosed by an outer wall, now completely gone.

Famous linguist Dr. Musa Khan is in front of the mosque. Tomb of Muhammad Shahidullah. Behind the mosque is the famous anti-Mughal ruler Musa Khan. Who was the son of Isha Khan. His mausoleum is completely neglected, neglected, which I find disrespectful. We should honor these brave soldiers with all dignity.

The Musa Khan Mosque is one of the most important historical monuments situated inside the Dhaka University Campus. It was built by the grandson of Musa Khan, Munawar Khan in the Mughal regime. Musa Khan was the son of Isa Khan, the most prominent of the twelve Bhuiyan's of Bengal. The grave of Musa Khan is situated near the mosque. Currently the mosque is being maintained by the University of Dhaka authorities. Five daily prayers are being conducted as well as the weekly Jumma prayers. The sermon before the prayer starts at 1:30 pm. During Ramadan, the Taraweeh prayers are also offered. The students of the Dr. Mohammad Shahidullah Hall and different departments of the Faculties of Sciences, Biological Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences and Engineering offer prayers in this mosque.

This mosque was established on approximately 16th century (Mughal) and it is an islamic affiliation. It has 3 domes and 4 minarets. It is a small size mosque. People usually say their prayer on the 1st floor and authority uses its ground floor as godown. The Dhaka University running students, teachers, staffs and stringers are the regular people who pray here.
