It was a great place to learn about liberation of war (1971). The photos were triggering! A good place to bring family and friends. Especially for children to learn the history of Bangladesh liberation war. The ambience was surreal. Very good experience content wise but a few photos were repeated not sure why. You can spend hours just by looking at the items but it was difficult to stay longer because there was no fan or ac , so it was hot. The restroom is upstairs in the right side when you enter first. I have uploaded the photos where you can see the ticket price. Usually no wait but during public holiday, there can be crowds. Better to go early morning. Would highly recommend.

Freedom Museum is a museum located in Dhaka, Bangladesh that depicts the history of the country's freedom struggle. The museum is located in Dhaka's historic Suhrawardy Udyan. Suhrawardy gave a historic speech on March 7, 1971 at the park and it was here that the Pakistan Army surrendered on December 16 of the same year. A 50-meter tall light pillar, known as the Freedom Pillar. The pillar is constructed of glass panels. The museum is located under this pillar. The entire museum is underground. This is the first and only underground museum in Bangladesh. The museum's plaza is a 5669 square meter tiled space. In the middle of the museum there is a fountain, in which water falls from above.

A great place to learn about freedom. This place is always used for hanging out with friends or family. The environment outside the place is severely disturbed, piles of garbage all around.

The Museum of Independence in Dhaka, Bangladesh is a fascinating and well-curated museum that offers visitors a unique glimpse into the country's history and struggle for independence. The museum is housed in the building that once served as the headquarters of the Pakistan Army during Bangladesh's war of independence, and it is filled with a vast collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents that detail the country's journey towards freedom. Visitors to the museum can expect to be moved by the exhibits, which include a wealth of information about the sacrifices made by the country's heroes and the pivotal role that they played in securing independence. The museum is also home to a number of interactive displays and multimedia installations, which help to bring the history of Bangladesh to life. Overall, I highly recommend the Museum of Independence as a must-visit destination for anyone interested in learning more about the rich history and culture of Bangladesh.

The Museum of Independence in Dhaka, Bangladesh depicts the struggle for independence of Bangladesh. It shows the history of the nation since Mughal tenure to independence in 1971. It is the first and only underground museum in the country. The museum is part of a 67-acre complex at Suhrawardy Udyan, the site from where Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave his historic speech declaring the struggle for independence, and where the Pakistani forces surrendered after the War of Liberation. The museum was opened to public on March 25, 2015, the 45th Independence Day of Bangladesh. The museum has a collection of over 300 historic photographs in 144 glass panels that depict the history of Bangladesh.[4] Terracotta, pictures and paper clippings of the war of liberation is on display at the museum. Copies of foreign newspapers and reports showing different events of war of liberation are kept in the gallery. The gallery also showcases some of the significant archaeological sites and monuments of Bangladesh. A replica of the table, where the eastern zone commander of Pakistan Army Lieutenant General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi signed the surrender document, is kept in the gallery.

This is a place of history and our new generation trying to make it a private place for couples. It's very sad that they don’t have any private place for hangout and making love in public place becoming an art for them. The authorities should be serious on it and should take actions about this matter. So many kids go there with their parents and those parents are unable to make a healthy and good environment for their children for this kind of situations.

Due to the location of the museum under the ground, it does not catch anyone's eye. Its entrance is through the wall next to the pillar. The museum houses various monuments of freedom. The galleries are arranged with many themes. There is also a theater. This secluded place is like love. The Museum of Independence in Dhaka, is one of the finest, modern, aesthetic, emotional and historical museum. This is about Bangladesh and depicts the struggle for its independence. This is an underground museum, the first ever in Dhaka city, may be also in first in Bangladesh. This musuem is basically in the center of Sohrawardy Udyan. A significant number of people come here every day. A Bangabandhu corner with huge number of books about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Independence of Bangladesh is also here. This is such a great museum to preserve our independence history.

The experience within the space is a reflection of all the architects and structural designer from the firm, urbana who worked on the project, named the Museum of Independence in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in collaboration with Architect marina tabassom to materialize a comprehended planning of the space which comprised of its placement, natural and artificial lighting, acoustics, scale, volume, construction material, and other physical elements like the steps, openings and wall thickness. The space is placed right at the end of the Western Black Gallery. You walk through a corridor of completely black tiled walls and floor with illuminated photographic exhibits of heart-wrenching war cruelty. And at the end of the gallery, to your left you see - an incision on the wall with a beam of light far within. With a disturbed mind, you plunge into the space as if to hold on to that one beam of hope for salvation. The light draws you into the cool, blank space. You realize the only exit to the place is the one you have entered through and you are not yet ready to go back. So you move forward and with a few steps further you hear the sounds of falling water. Curious about its source, your gaze follows it upward. You find the circular opening on the ceiling which is bringing in both the light and the water.  You are filled with awe as you anticipate the water falling from the sky. Your eyes move to the surrounding raw, concrete ceiling with a mix layer of circular patterns and an organic imprint which somehow resembles the natural water and its ripples. And as you stare at the ceiling, already feeling a little lighter than before, you realize you need to sit and take the space in. To accommodate your need, as if by reading your mind, the architects have prepared a few steps circling the water, to let you sit and be with your thoughts. As you motion to sit, you see in front, a circular concrete container holding the water from above. When you sit, your vision is mostly fixed on the place where the water from the sky hits the water within the container- where the splashing sound plays. The dimly lighted, blank, circular concrete wall blends into the background as you concentrate on the water. The thick walls and the few small, linear openings cut visual and auditory connections to outside. The ceiling height being not too grand, provides a comparatively intimate space for you to start contemplating.

national monument in Bangladesh to commemorate the historical events that took place in the Suhrawardy Udyan, previously known as Ramna Race Course ground regarding the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. The government of Bangladesh took the initiative to build the monument in 1996. The construction began in 1999. Kashef Mahboob Chowdhury and Marina Tabassum designed the project. The main attraction of the project is a 50-meter high tower composed of stacked glass panels, which stands at the place where the Pakistani Instrument of Surrender was signed at the end of the war.

On March 7, 1971, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman delivered the historical speech of independence to the Bengalis from this historic place. The Museum of Independence has been established in this garden. The museum started its journey on March 26, 2016. One of the features of the Independence Museum is its architectural style. Basically the three parts of the Independence Museum. The first part deals with the origin of the Bengali language, the origin of Bengal and various movements for independence. It ended with a picture of Bangabandhu's speech on March 7.

The Museum of Independence in Dhaka depicts the struggle for independence of Bangladesh. It shows the history of the nation since Mughal tenure to independence in 1971. It is the first and only underground museum in the country. The museum is part of a 67 acre complex at Suhrawardy Udyan, the site from where Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave his historic speech declaring the struggle for independence, and where the Pakistani forces surrendered after the War of Liberation. The museum was opened to public on 25th March 2015, the 45th Independence Day of Bangladesh. Good place

There is also a 155-seat auditorium in the complex. The focal point in the experience of the space is the monument, Tower of Light which is a 50-meter high tower composed of stacked glass panels. The museum is situated beneath the tower of light. The museum's plaza area has a 5669 square meter of tiled floor. Its underground terrace has a fountain at the center where water is falls from over the ceiling. 4.6 is an understatement for this place. One of the best places to go to in Dhaka. Everything is emotional inside the structure. The lack of security of the surrounding location does make it a bit unwanted. Recommended to go with friends and family, or during daytime if you're alone or in a small group.

The museum has a large collection of documents, photographs, weapons, and other memorabilia related to the independence struggle and the Bangladesh Liberation War. The exhibits include personal items of freedom fighters, photographs, and artifacts from the war, including weapons and military equipment. This place can be covered by walking within a very short time. One of the most notable exhibits in the museum is the Gallery of Martyrs, which honors the thousands of Bangladeshis who lost their lives during the independence struggle. The museum also has a research center and library, where visitors can learn about the history of Bangladesh and its independence movement. The Museum of Independence of Bangladesh is an important landmark in the history of the country and serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and bravery of the people of Bangladesh in their struggle for independence. It is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in learning about the history of Bangladesh and its fight for independence.

This Museum is an underground museum. The place is beautiful but not very popular. This displays the event from 1952 to 1971. There are newspaper cuttings, bpictures, maps. This is in the Suhrawardy Udyan. So if you ever go to Suhrawardy Udyan, it is worth to pay a visit there. Going there only for the museum will not be that fruitful.
