Ramna Park is a captivating oasis in the heart of the city. Its vibrant ambiance is a delightful treat for nature enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The abundance of trees adorned with colorful flowers creates a picturesque landscape, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls or peaceful picnics. The serene lake adds a touch of tranquility, inviting visitors to relax by its shimmering waters. However, the park's most unique feature is the captivating spectacle of bats, gracefully gliding through the evening sky. While their presence may surprise some, it adds an element of mystique to the experience. Overall, Ramna Park is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking to escape the urban hustle and immerse themselves in nature's splendor.

The oldest, humongous, most stunning and charming park in Dhaka city having a lots of varieties of trees. It is located almost in the center of the city beside Hotel Intercontinental. It has a well maintained and lucrative lake. The jogging tracks, sitting arrangements, flower gardens, restaurant, free hand exercise facilities etc are just awesome. Most importantly people can have good sanitation facilities there. To spend quality time with family, friends or to exercise this is just a incredible place!!!

This is a marvelous place in Dhaka city. At least you can get relief from the crowd, traffic and dust from the city for a while. This is an amazing place for people of all ages. Particularly, I am charmed with the joy of kids because inside of the park they have made a mini amusement park for them where different rides available for kids. Hopefully, authority will take proper care of it & develop it as needed.

The best park in Dhaka with so many trees keeping the environment cool and healthy. Always safe for the visitors and pedestrians as the entrance of unwanted people is strictly checked. Moreover, the security sraffs keep on patrolling along the tracks to ensure that nothing unexpected happens. It's really a breathing space for the people living around.

One of the most popular park in Dhaka city with great natural views. This oldest and historical place has many facilities for the visitors. There is no entry fee but has many facilities for the visitors. The lake with walkways made this place more beautiful. You can take rest on the bench as long as you want and also can do physical exercises in the morning or evening time. Many people come here every day from different places for walking, jogging, exercising, or spending time with family and friends with beauty of nature that is very rare to find in busy city like Dhaka. Hope you will enjoy your time in this beautiful place.

The celebration of Bengali new year Pahela Baishakh begins at dawn arranges by the cultural organisation Chhayanaut welcoming the year at Ramna Batamul under the banyan tree in the Ramna Park & Ramna Park (Bengali: রমনা উদ্যান Rômna Uddan) is a large park and recreation area situated at the heart of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. This park is one of the most beautiful areas in Dhaka with lots of trees and a lake near its center. Histtory The history of Ramna starts about 1610 CE during Mughal rule, when the city of Dhaka was founded by Subehdar Islam Khan under Emperor Jahangir. At that time two beautiful residential areas were developed in the northern suburb of Dhaka city. New residential houses, gardens, mosques, tombs and temples were built in this area during that period. After the fall of the Mughal rule, Ramna gradually lost much of its glory. Ramna was then a barren area with bushes, abandoned or dilapidated buildings, tombs and old temples. 19th century Ramna area began to regain its glory since 1825, when Mr. Dowes, a British collector of Dhaka initiated a series of steps for development of the city. Engaging convicts, he cleared up the bushes and demolished most tombs and monuments except the Ramna Kali Mandir. The old mosque and tomb that now stand by the western side of old High Court building were spared. The renovated area was given the name of Ramna Green and was fenced by a boundary for using it as a race course. In 1908 he began the work of a garden that took 20 years to take a shape. The Nawabs of Dhaka developed the racecourse area as a beautiful garden and named a part of it as Shahbagh, the royal garden. The Nawabs also set up a zoo at Ramna. In 1851, the European civil servants established the Dhaka Club on the northern corner of the racecourse and after the Partition a good number of beautiful residential houses were built at Minto road area for the High Court judges and top bureaucrats. 20th century After creation of Pakistan in 1947, Ramna area continued to occupy an important place in the history of Dhaka city. A new road from Shahbagh to the Eden Building was constructed, and the eastern side of the road was developed as the Ramna Park. A miniature zoo with a few animals and different kinds of birds was left there, at the northeastern side of the present Supreme Court of Bangladesh building and was later moved to the present location at Mirpur. Ramna Park was officially inaugurated in 1949 with an area of 88.50 acres (358,100 m2) of land with 71 species of plants. The large open spaces on the southwest facing the lake were used for holding National Fairs and Exhibitions. In 1960, Queen Elizabeth II was accorded a rousing civic reception at the Ramna Park with display of local fireworks. A raised concrete platform was built for the Queen, the remnants of which can still be seen in the park close to the lake. Walkway through the park. The present landscape of Ramna Park was designed in 1952 by the Public Works Department of Bangladesh (former C&B Department). The lake was excavated deeper and extended in length. Walkways and garden paths were built in phases as, sections were regraded and replanted. Irrigation of the rare variety of tree saplings was done by tree wells, with deep vertical tubes/watering pipes to encourage roots to grow deeply. A bud-shaped water tower to supply them was built on the park's northern side. On the night of 25 March 1971, the Pakistani Army launched its violent campaign against the civilian population of Dhaka. The Ramna Kali Mandir and the neighbouring Maa Anandamoyee Ashram were demolished and more than 200 Hindus who had taken refuge inside were massacred. [wikipedia]

A very mesmerising park amidst the chaotic, polluted concrete jungle of Dhaka. With more renovation works on progress, the place is bound to become much more beautiful than it is. Unfortunately, there is no bike/bicycle lane, you cannot enter the park with your cycle. A cycle lane would definitely be a blessing for bike/cycle enthusiasts. Moreover, the authorities should really put up a campaign to stop littering. People are throwing rubbish and turning the place into a mess

Most of The Trees Are Labeled So One Can #Learn About Various Types Of Trees....... There Are Some #Birds To Watch....... You Could Find Some #Squirrels Here And There....... It Has Nicely Paved Paths To #Walk Around........ It Also Has A Great Looking Ramna Park, with its blend of natural beauty and historical resonance, remains a jewel in Dhaka's crown. Whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or just someone looking for a break from city life, Ramna Park offers something for everyone. However, to truly enjoy its serenity, consider visiting during off-peak hours. Location and Accessibility: Situated in the bustling city of Dhaka, Ramna Park offers a much-needed respite from the city's hectic pace. Its central location makes it accessible from various parts of the city, and public transportation options, including rickshaws and taxis, are readily available to get there. Landscape and Ambience: Spread over 68 acres, Ramna Park boasts an array of greenery. Majestic banyan trees, meandering pathways, and the serene lake at its heart combine to create an atmosphere of tranquillity. The park is methodically landscaped, with manicured lawns, flower gardens, and dedicated areas for relaxation. Historical Significance: The park's history runs deep. It has been a silent observer to many significant events in the country's narrative, from the British colonial era to the formative years of Bangladesh. Several monuments and statues in the park reflect its historical significance, giving visitors a taste of the nation's heritage. Facilities and Activities: For health enthusiasts, the park's jogging and walking tracks are a boon. Morning and evening see a good number of people making use of these tracks. Additionally, the park is a hub for various cultural events and gatherings, especially during national holidays and festivals. There are also play areas for children, making it a family-friendly spot. Safety and Maintenance: Generally, the park is considered safe, especially during daylight hours. It's well-lit in the evenings, but like any public space, it's advisable to be cautious. Regular maintenance is evident from the cleanliness of the park, although during peak times, litter can occasionally be a concern. Drawbacks: Being a popular spot, Ramna Park can get overly crowded, especially during weekends and holidays. This sometimes detracts from the peaceful experience one might expect. Additionally, traffic congestion around the park area can be challenging, especially during rush hours.

Variations are quite fascinating. The new walkway around the lake is excellent. Fantastic place for photoshoot. There should be more drinking water sources in the park. Sitting arrangements need to be updated. Excellent place for joggers. It’s peaceful.

Such a lovely place to walk, run or spend your leisure time. Ramna Park has a great environment to calm your mind in this busy Dhaka city. There's some community based runners called RamnaRunners. I have done a 5k and 10k run in this park. I went to Ramna Park for the first time this year. I still regret, why didn’t I visit this place sooner. Never expected such a wonderful park to exist amidst this crowded, over populated city. This place is a bliss!

The Mughals built gardens from the old High Court building to the former road building. But later during the Company period this area became a jungle. It was developed in the 19th century with the help of British rulers and Nawabs of Dhaka. The work of cosmopolitan planning of Dhaka city was started in 1906 by R., one of the staff of Kiwi Garden, London. Under the supervision of El Proudlock. The development of Ramna Park was the result of that cosmic plan of the city. It took 20 years to complete the work. At present, Ramna Park hosts New Year celebrations on the first day of Boishakh. The New Year celebrations organized by Chayanat at Ramna's Batmul are now very popular.

This is one my favorite places in Dhaka city. My parents and grandparents used to take me here when I was little. I am always hit by a sense of nostalgia whenever I step inside the park. I recommend visiting at dawn (around 6-6:30 AM). You'll witness the trail of lights passing through the trees. Truly an enchanting sight to see. Forever grateful 🙏

A place with nature so close to you. People of every age groups walk, run, exercise there all the day long. Green is everywhere. Kids can enjoy kids corner with so many tools for playing. Best place for the poet who wants some tranquility while producing their top writing. Senior citizens search for their lost memories. Romantics find their heavens in the midst of a over crowded city.

Ramna Park is a large park and recreation area situated at the heart of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. This forested park with pond near its center is one of the most beautiful areas in Dhaka. Islamabad's diplomatic district is named Ramna as a tribute to Ramna Park. This dates from when Bangladesh was East Pakistan and the newly established capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, was divided into various sectors named after various provinces such as Shalimar depicting Punjab and Ramna Bengal.17th century Edit The history of Ramna starts about 1610 CE during Mughal rule, when the city of Dhaka was founded by Subehdar Islam Khan under Emperor Jahangir. 19th century Edit Ramna area began to regain its glory since 1825, when Mr. 20th century Edit After creation of Pakistan in 1947, Ramna area continued to occupy an important place in the history of Dhaka city. The celebration of Bengali new year Pahela Baishakh begins at dawn arranges by the cultural organisation Chhayanaut welcoming the year at Ramna Batamul under the banyan tree in the Ramna Park

Some of the hard work I took from Ramna Park is the best picture, I thought I would submit it to an exhibition but that opportunity did not come. Now it seems that the profit is reserved for yourself? Submit a better map. At least people can see the pictures, that's the big find. Ramna Park is my favorite place, you and I will go out, it will be good. There is car parking and wheelchair parking.

Ramna Park - Grown more green than previous time as seen after about six months, but road inside should have been completed before re-opening. As only one big park, there are a lot of lacks in the park to get it more beautiful for enjoyment of all walks of life as we see in the developed countries. Only the good intentions of the authority may do a lot of beautification for better enjoyment of the public.

Ramna park is one of the oldest parks in Dhaka city. Previously the environment was not good as also the security and other concern people avoid on that. But now after they renovated the whole park, the current condition is much better. Especially the new roads, footpath, children park, water bridges, dustbins, and overall the whole areas now more secure and cleaner. You can visit with your family members and also if you are regular in jogging so I think is the best place. So if you are interested in the fresh air, a natural place, and a huge open space also with a children's park I would recommend visiting that place.

Ramna Park has been renovated and looks very charming now. It is the best park in Dhaka to enjoy nature and the lake. The lake is decorated with a bridge that is perfect for taking photos and walking. There are over 100 different trees located here, each with its own name plate. If you are looking for a place to spend some quality time with nature and capture some memories, this park is a great option.

This is a crown of Dhaka city I think. It’s literally a gem because of greenery and calmness where anyone can spend hours alone or with companions. This place is well designed for all ages and particularly I'm fascinated with the facilities for kids. They have a little amusement park & different rides for children. Hopefully, authority will keep well maintenance & improve it further as needed.

Ramna park is like the lungs of Dhaka city. Sounds funny, but once you visit there, you'll get to know why. The park is a soothing and refreshing place where you can hangout with friends and family, run in the morning, and of course enjoy the greenery. One of the rare places of Dhaka where you'll get to see a lot of trees and hear the squirrels squeaking.

One of the biggest and oldest natural park in Bangladesh. It's full of trees. This park is a blessing for the people of Dhaka as Dhaka is the most air polluted city in the country, and in the world as well. But this park brings the chance for the people to breathe some fresh air. In the park there are lots of walking paths. People normally go there in the morning and in the evening for jogging and walking.

A vast green area in centre of Dhaka. A place of refreshment and relax. People came here for morning walk, yoga etc. Many types of people come here to spent their extra time. The huge number of trees will give a nice shed. There is. little children corner where they can ride on swing. It contains a nice like though the water is not so look fresh. There are several gates of this park.

A great place to have a walk. in the centre of the city. Once you are inside, you will not find any noise and chaos which just outside the gate. You can have a walk, have a good time with friends or just sit beside the lake just by yourself. People use in for morning walk and it closes near 7pm.

Ramna Park is a large park and recreation area situated at the heart of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. A beautiful garden with a dense shady environment. The park was established in 1610 and that time It was from the High Court building to the present road building. Every year the first Baishakh ceremony is celebrated in a very stylish manner at Ramna Batamul. Every day, a large number of health conscious people visit this park.

Probably, this is the only breathing space in the central Dhaka. Recently, the city corporation revived some other places, but this one is incomparable because of its area and richness of its offerings. There is a large lake inside and very old trees. Many exercise points are built for the city dwellers. The authority does not allow any hawkers, a good initiative indeed!

The best natural place in the heart of Dhaka city to breath in open air. Now it is more neat and clean and opened 10.00am to 12.00am and 3.00pm to 6.00pm for Covid-19 issue.

It’s a pleasure to have such lovely gardens with in the busiest city. A plenty of shady trees and the scent of flowers, lilies and citrus blossom and lawns to wander over in bare feet with the first mug of coffee of the day. I would request everyone should visit once in a week in morning to feel the taste of Nature in Dhaka.

Nice place for afternoon stroll or morning walk. Good nature, waterbody and ambience. Seems safe during the day. With passersby and people hanging out or walking. Best to avoid at night. Construction works of pedestrian walkway is going on at the moment.regardless, you have walkways and people walk.

This is one of the best and beautiful parks for morning walks, exercise and relaxation. All the loneliness is washed away by the vast trees and chirping of various birds.🖤

A very beautiful place for outdoor walking roaming around with family and kids and also a place for hang out. There is a lot of trees and open spaces here. This is called the lungs of Dhaka city. Because it’s provides a lot of oxygen in the Dhaka city’s air.

It's a walkable, photogenic place. There are paddle boats as an fun activists in park. It’s clean, calm and easily accessible using Metro Rail or Ubar. At the evening it’s become more happening.
