Visited this Japanese sushi place for the first time. Quite an well decorated place with food even further tasteful. Staff behavior and service is very nice and welcoming. We had salmon maki roll, beef teriyaki, Japanese cheesecake and drinks. Each of the item tasted very good. 4 star only because of their price point which is quite high.

Went for a family dinner. There was a waiting for about 15 minutes as it was weekend. But frankly I didn't expect that. I liked the ambience which is Japanese cherry based especially on the roof. You can scan their menu and check it on your phone. We tried few dishes but I liked chicken based dishes batter. Their sushi maki rolls, salmon sashimi are delicious, to me their beef items needed little more TLC but all chicken dishes like hibachi chicken , chicken katsu curry sauce, chicken cheese katsu were spot on. Their drinks were decent too. Overall great Japanese eatery experience for me.

Best option for Japanese food in Dhanmondi area. Food is very tasty. Price is very high, but compared to other Japanese restaurants in Dhaka, price is reasonable. Staff are very cordial and well-behaved. The ambiance of the restaurant is very good. There is an underground parking option.

A fusion Japanese restaurant with great service and great ambience. Their nori beef fried tacos are definitely the star. Heard a lot about their teppanyaki but it was a bit disappointing. Also, paying such a big price for this, their should be at least one side added with this. Their drinks are okay and desserts are mediocre. It is an expensive place, specially in Dhanmondi. But the decor is gorgeous and seating arrangement is comfortable.

Overall the experience was good. Food was hygienic, table, floor and the bathroom was clean. Service was phenomenal, staff is actively engaging, floor manager was always keen on shepherding his staff, information which was passed from the table to the restaurant was good. The reasons this place doesn't get a 5 star from me is because, they were out of certain food and drink items. Some food items were served cold as they reached our table, for example the pot stickers and rice. The drinks were served to us promptly, however it was very much on the sweeter side, but regardless that sounds like personal bickering. Lastly, another thing you guys can work on is how to setup a table before guests sit down. Proper placement of the sauces and the main dish so that its easier for the guests to eat and enjoy. This would increase the Japanese cultural authenticity of the place. Good people. Great atmosphere. Hopefully next time, it'll be better.

After ages I've found a good place to enjoy food and enjoy some quality time. The food was great, japanese blended with some Bangladeshi flavour. The ambience was excellent. We had dinner there without much rush. The decoration, service, attitude of the waiters there- everything was topnotch and very professional. We ordered their apptizer platter, tan tan chicken ramen, spicy soba stone bowl, japanese cheescake, margarita and virgin mohito. All of the items were fresh and delicious. Specially recommended the spicy soba stone bowl and the cheesecake.

Japanese Authenticity: Izakaya is known for its authentic Japanese cuisine, serving up classic traditional dishes. The flavors and presentation are reminiscent of a true Japanese izakaya. Ambiance: The restaurant boasts a charming and cozy ambiance with traditional Japanese decor, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a dining experience that feels like a journey to Japan. Sushi and Sashimi: The sushi and sashimi offerings are a highlight. Freshness and quality are evident in each bite, making it a go-to spot for raw/smoked seafood enthusiasts. If you're seeking an authentic Japanese culinary adventure and are willing to overlook some shortcomings, Izakaya is worth a visit for its food items and traditional ambiance.

Chicken Spicy Ramen: The broth was spicy but bearable for our taste. The ramen noodles were straight from instant noodles packaging. They tried their best to imitate the Chashu meat and got very closed. The half boiled eggs had the right consistency and the seaweed rounded it up pretty good. All in all 8/10. Enoki beef roll: It was topped up with sauteed enoki mushroom, which gave the dish a very unique taste. The meat was tender and not chewy. I'd give this entire dish 8/10 Deep fried shrimp maki roll: The maki rolls were tasty itself and the addition of the potato crisps made it even more appealing. The sushi was a bit difficult to handle with the chopsticks. 9/10 Miso Salmon tartare cone: All tartare lovers can go for this one, as the creativity of this dish was enormous and the freshness of the Salmon made me crave for another one. Beware, the caramelised cone melts away very soon, make sure to prioritise the food first. Vegetable tempura: Nothing much to say here, it was made just the way it was supposed to be. I'd order this again. Some unique vegetables like asparagus etc were present. Chicken & Ebi Gyoza: A classic example of good Gyoza 10/10 Dragon maki roll: The avocado wrapped felt a bit weird. As I didn't sense the authentic avocado taste. The fried shrimp weren't very dry. The spicy mayo surely helped to enhance our taste bud. 8/10. Earl grey martini: It was refreshing but a little bit less sugar would have been appreciated. The scent of the Earl grey tea was very dominant, which made justice to the naming of the drink. 8/10

The place, the food and the service, everything was top notch. This place is a place for Japanese food. But they have adopted the taste for Bengali tastebud, a bit, by not destroying the original flavor. And I loved it. Highly recommend.

Izakaya has to be undoubtedly the best Japanese place in Dhanmondi. I've been there several times and their ambience, hospitality and service has always been top notch. We tried their Beef Cheese Skewer as appetizer, Spicy Salmon Maki Roll and Spicy Chicken Ramen as main dish, and Earl Grey Martini and Purple Lady as drink. All the items were equally delicious, fresh and flavorful. You can rest assured that you're gonna get the proper Japanese cuisine and taste for the price you're paying. Another thing to mention, we ordered Tempura Strawberry Ice Cream for dessert but they prepared it before we finished our main course by mistake and it started melting. So they served it to us before we asked for it and apologized very humbly and eventually offered us the dessert on the house. If that's not peak customer service I don't know what is!

I have rarely visited a japanese restaurant. However, Izakaya has blown my mind. You cannot find such simplicity with hints of elegance everyday. However, my mind was also blown by their expensive dishes 🥲 We ordered salmon sushi along with prawn sushi. They were awesome. I have an allergy in prawn but somehow it didn’t kick in. After that, we ordered a chicken bao and it was good. Lastly, we ordered a handmade macha ice cream and it was soothing. I never imagined that it could be so good. The staff were professional. And you can see the kitchen staff preparing your dishes from your seat. Whenever i get rich, I will try to taste their food again 🫠

Izakaya offers an authentically Japanese dining experience in a beautifully decorated setting. The cleanliness and attentive staff contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. However, the premium prices might be a consideration for some diners.

I recently dined at Izakaya Dhanmondi Brunch and was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience. The restaurant lives up to its name, providing a fantastic izakaya-style atmosphere that is both vibrant and welcoming. The interior design strikes a balance between modern elegance and traditional warmth, creating a great backdrop for a memorable dining experience. The service at Izakaya deserves special mention. The staff's attentiveness and friendliness added significantly to the positive atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the team made us feel welcome and ensured that our dining experience was seamless. Now, let's talk about the food. Izakaya not only excels in ambiance and service but also delivers on the culinary front. The menu offers a diverse range of dishes, and each one we tried was a delightful experience for the taste buds. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was a testament to the kitchen's attention to detail. In conclusion, Izakaya is more than just a restaurant; it's an immersive dining experience. Whether you're looking for a casual night out or a special celebration, Izakaya stands out for its great atmosphere, exceptional service, and delicious food. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure.

Great food, cozy ambience and very satisfying service. All the sushis I tried were tasty. The ramen tasted so strong at the beginning but I liked it after getting used to with the taste. They also serve a Japanese cotton cheese cake which is also delicious. The staffs were friendly and well behaved.

This restaurant wins my mind! First of all their welcoming method was mind-blowing and so much friendly environment. Then comes their decoration. Full of flowers and the sweet smell of their air freshener. This environment makes the ambiance so relaxing. Their foods are great as their decoration. We took Appetizer Platter, chicken n ebi gyoza, fruit punch, purple lady, Japanese cheesecake, and wasabi chicken. All of their food was just amazing. Not to mention that all of their staff were so much friendly. You’ll feel like you are invited to some of your relative’s houses. Definitely will go there again.

Excellent sushi, drinks, desserts, and ambiance. The servers are very nice, attentive, and courteous as well. As a bonus, they also greet you, and thank you in Japanese. Having said that, their ramen hasn't lived up to the standards that they have set for themselves. Would definitely recommend.

One of those rare restaurants in Dhaka which excels in every aspect. We took Miso Salmon Tartare Cone, Fried Nori Beef Tacos, Spicy Salmon Maki Roll, Dragon Maki Roll, Miso soup and a Mango Calpis. All the items were tasty and fresh. Specially the Fried Nori Beef Tacos 😍 Recommended.

The atmosphere of this place contains a magnificent Japanese vibe. All the servicemen here will welcome you in a Japanese style. So overall I like the atmosphere. About the food I tried their Spicy Chicken Ramen, Fried Nori Beef Tacos, Japanese Cheesecake and The Lemonade Mango. The Spicy Chicken Ramen wasn't spicy actually and the waiter told me about that while i ordered so that's a good gesture but still i ordered it and To me it tasted average. I tried quite a lot of ramen and this one didn't taste like neither a creamy one nor a spicy one. I couldn't figure out what was wrong or maybe that just me. I'll rate it 8/10. The Fried Nori Beef Tacos was super unique and tasty. It has a little bit of soury flavour inside it which makes it more tasty. Though they serve only four pieces but it's enough to fill your stomach. I'll rate it 9.9/10. The Japanese Cheesecake looked so good. It tasted average but with the blueberry sauce they provided it tasted much better. I'll rate it 9.2/10. And as for the Mango lemonade it was just pure mango and lemon mixture and it also tasted like that. I'll rate it 8.5/10. Overall with the decoration and food it's a good restaurant to visit if you're fond of Japanese food. It's quite costly but all the services are worth the cost.

It’s an authentic Japanese cuisine based restaurant! Well decorated!nice ambiance!open kitchen so you can see the preparation of your food even! service is top notch! They really pamper you with services! And they literally open for any suggestions of customers, help you with understanding the menus and foods to search for your best. And the menus are not handmade papers! They are notepad based! This idea is so cool! But the price is kinda high! If you are up for actual Japanese cuisine, then it’s a must go place😊

Atmosphere is good, service is good. But the food quantity doesn’t match with price. Serving bowl’s color is such that you can’t evaluate cleanliness. But the green tea served cup was full of dark stains which give bad impressions regarding dishes. Prices are high. Caution ⚠️ If they don’t reduce the prices or increase the amount of food, iis very difficult to be a frequent visitor!

Starting of with the interior, it has a simple design around the Flowers. The colors make it for a good ambience. Staff are professional and responsive. It was my first time trying Sushi and this may come of as biased but it was great. The pricing is justifiable for the quality and quantity. Overall good place to try out a new cruisine.

The place is a bit on the expensive side but I guess it’s worth your money to try out cuisines that are quite unfamiliar with your taste. Had an amazing experience with the stuffs and the views are also pretty exquisite! Can't talk about the taste too much as I haven’t tasted this type of foods before! But enjoyed the meal though the Ramen could have been better I guess! Specially, I loved the Kiwi drink!!! It was so refreshing!

I frequent many fusion japanese restaurants of Dhaka and I ADORE Izakaya. Wonderful ambiance , amazing food & great service - all make it a good place to spend your time and money. There menu offers a variety of dishes and drinks. Absolutely LoVED there family platters. Very good value for money in my opinion. Do try the Iced lemon tea and the other drinks to go with your meal, you won't regret it

From the moment I entered the I have been greeted with the cheerful chanting of the staff team welcoming us in Japanese. The atmosphere is captivating and is indeed akin to that of a Japanese Zen Garden. As in some of the sitting areas, the paths are covered with sand (picture given below) to mimic that of an authentic Japanese environment. When it comes to the food I wanted to try Beef Nori Fried Tacos and Salmon Tacos as I have never thought of a dish which is a fusion of Japanese and Mexican dish. As I delved deeper into the tacos I must say the amalgamation of East meeting West never tasted so good. The crunchiness of tacos and the Japanese style salmon's taste really synergized the taste in ways I thought it is not possible. On top of that, we tried Ebi Mentai Sushi and Chicken Cheese Yaki. I was initially a bit disappointed with only two pieces of Ebi Mentai Sushi, but I must say, I have never tasted sushi this soft. The flavours encapsulating the dish melted in my mouth. Not to mention the chicken was amazing with cheese sprinkled on top which was also served with mashed potatoes. For our drinks we ordered Mango Calpis. Without a doubt I have to say there's almost no flavour involved as I could taste the mango pulps among them. Highly repleneshing. All in all, I stumbled here having heard a few reviews about it but my taste of the dishes here left me yearning for more. From the hospitable staff and the amazing dishes. I would definitely recommend this place easily.

A nice restaurant and pretty interior, good service but I don't like the staff pacing around while I eat! Relax kor. Very small selection of sushi rolls, only 4 on the menu, only salmon and friend shrimp. I would like to see more tuna rolls and a larger selection of nigiri. Small drinks menu too. This restaurant has potential, if they expanded the menu. Dim lightly which could be improved. A good place for private conversations. Sushi quality and taste was good and presented nicely and promptly. I will visit again for the spicy salmon maki.

A very reasonably priced sushi place with a cozy atmosphere. The staffs are amazing, they even took the extra step to play the birthday song on the speakers for my sister's birthday and managed a cool sparkler for the cheesecake too. Definitely recommended, would visit again.

Went to Izakaya recently. The overall experience was good. The interior and the ambiance was splendid. Their service was also really good. I took the deep fried shrimp maki roll, beef teriyaki with rice and the chicken tan tan fried rice. I have to say I was disappointed with the food. The shrimp maki roll and the beef teriyaki was alright, not great not terrible. The quantity of the chicken tan tan fried was so low that its laughable and it tastes average. Now considering the huge price of the food, this is not acceptable. I payed almost 2000 BDT and came out with an okayish experience. Their food must come to par with the price and the poshness of the restaurant. I can only recommend Izakaya for their service and the ambiance of the restaurant, nothing more.

I recently visited Izakaya and had a delightful experience. The staff, especially Shuvo, was quite helpful and added to the overall positive atmosphere. The menu boasts an impressive selection of sushi, maki rolls, and ramen, each dish bursting with authentic flavors. The interior beautifully captures the Sakura season of Japan, creating a serene and inviting ambiance. Izakaya is a must-visit for those seeking a genuine taste of Japanese cuisine in a charming setting.

Super expensive. The stuffs that were working were really welcoming and friendly. They would welcome you in Japanese IDK what they were saying. We just took 3 blue moon which costs around 810 taka per person it is 270 taka. And we also took deep fried shrimp maki roll which is 638 taka and also Japanese cheese cake 325 taka. All of them item tasted good you can eat them with chopsticks or spoon depending on your preference. And we took deep fried shrimp which usually tastes well no matter which restaurant you choose. And you will be given wasabi with it. And cheese cake was great it smells a lot so they added mint with it to adjust your flavour. So looking at the menu you might think these are just light snacks compared to what others were ordering. Unfortunately all of then combined was priced 2100 taka including 10% service charge and 10% VAT. I mean your items already costs way too much already and you are including 10% service charge and vat with it just to hear them welcoming you and saying goodbye to you in Japanese. But the place and the club environment is great you will get a top view of Abahani Field. Lots of people who were going there were like rich university students who were like from North South University and rich couples. Also you will get a coupon where at after 8 days with Izakaya you will get a free set meal and also other items on each successive days you go there.

Food is tasty but very costly. Liked their prawn sushi and salmon belly sushi . Others were good too but not worth the cost. Drinks are average(Blue Lagoon tasted better than Mango Lemonade). The place is very beautiful and photogenic.

Great place for having Japanese Food. The environment looks amazing, stuffs were friendly, and it was not that much crowded! We loved every item we ordered. The items we tried: 🍣 Ebi Sushi - 207 taka 🍱 Deep Fried Shrimp Maki Roll - 638 taka 🍙 Fried Nori Beef Tacos - 495 taka 🍚 Beef Teriyaki with Rice - 501 taka 🍰 Japanese Cheesecake - 325 taka There’s also 15% vat and service charge. So the price gets really higher! But the taste and environment worth it. And they give you a punch card! So when you visit the next or third time, you’ll get some discounts. Will definitely visit again!

I was recommended to visit this Japanese restaurant in Dhaka. I was quite impressed with the setting and layout of the entire restaurant. More than sufficient seating and a nice view of the busy city from our seat. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. For non-Bangla speakers, it'll be a good place for you as the staff here speaks English well. For starters, I ordered Miso Soup and Sushi, obviously. I thoroughly enjoyed those. For the main, I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry. Did not meet my expectation as I have had better ones before. For dessert, how can one not order Japanese cheesecake? It was okay, 3.5/5. I don't remember what drinks I ordered but I do remember that I actually enjoyed it. My cousins ordered similar items but one had ordered a Ramen and that was a solid 1/5. My overall experience was good. I think the staff made everything better.

The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is beautiful, the service is great, and the food is amazing! Everything is fresh, well made, and fairly priced for what you’re getting! The best thing on the menu is the Miso salmon tartare cone. It is probably in the top 10 best things I’ve ever eaten. The star of the show: the cone! So buttery, sweet but salty, the right amount of crunch, the taste of roasted sesame, my god!!! The salmon was so good and fatty, the sauce was on the spicy side so it paired well with the cone. I highly recommend this place and coming from someone who has tried Izumi, this place is much better!
