I got to spend two unforgettable days with Jewel in Dhaka. A very sympathetic guide who also knows the real sights and the tour individually coordinated. Highly recommended for all who want to get to know Bangladesh off the mainstream.

We had a day in Dhaka and decided to embark on the Dhaka city tour with Royal Bengal. It was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. It turned out to be one of the most fascinating day tours that we’ve ever been on. We found Royal Bengal to be very professional and experienced in every aspect of the tour. Our tour was led by the very capable owner of the outfit, Jewel, and he very competently and passionately provided information and insights on all aspects of the history and culture of Dhaka and Bangladesh. Dhaka has to be one of the most chaotic yet fascinating cities in the world. We visited the University, walked the busy streets and markets of Old Dhaka, crossed to river to visit the Sadarghat shipyards, then stopped into the Pink Palace, Lulbagh Fort, Armenian church, and Star mosque. Just observing everyday life in Dhaka was a fantastic experience that will always be remembered. I can’t rate Jewel and his team highly enough – this tour is a must-do for all tourists visiting Bangledesh. Royal Bengal also provide custom-made multi-day tours to other parts of the country that sound amazing – something we’ll do when we’re next in Bangladesh! Highly recommended!

I can’t recommend Jewel highly enough. He organised a trip round Bangladesh for two of us in January 2023 and it was a fantastic experience. During the planning stages he listened to what we wanted to see, made really good suggestions about the route and what other temples and mosques might be interesting to us and took off things off the proposed itinerary that didn’t really appeal. He was always courteous and very friendly and extremely speedy in coming back to us. His driver arrived exactly when he said he would, drove perfectly on quite perilous roads and seemed to have an unerring ability to sense when we might want a cup of tea or a break. All in all Royal Bengal Tours made our holiday a great success at a very reasonable price. I would certainly use them again.
