The trend that everything out of old dhaka is historic and awesome is so wrong. Visit this place and you’ll get a first hand experience of why I say this. I have seen rave reviews of food vloggers with hundreds of thousands of views. There uhu and aha gives you a push for going there and taste whatever they’re reviewing. So I did too. A journey across the city on a Friday morning (more like dawn as we started pre fajr and prayed fajr on the way). The place was a major let down in terms of food. Small and dirty is not a problem for me. I wasn’t expecting 5 star experience. I have my fair share of experience of old dhaka food. Dal was low in oil and spice, a good thing, but taste was lacking completely. I can name at least 3/4 places with better halwa. Vegetable was quite good, an exception. And commendably, there use of oil and spice was on the lower side. The mutton was soft but absolutely nothing exceptional about the curry. Milk tea was horrible. I don’t know about there famous cutlets and chops, but going by the breakfast, I don’t expect much.

If you want to explore old Dhaka, it always surprises you with its old food and spicy cuisine. There are many midnight savouring stories here! Hence we are going to explore another food gem of old Dhaka. ‘The Cafe Corner’ has been there since 1962. This cafe is one of the famous restaurants of what we call now old Dhaka. It was the shining Dhaka hundreds of years ago! It has been almost 59 years that their interior has not changed! Most popular food of Cafe Corner is mutton cram chaap (steak), which is made of minced meat and other secret spices. But you also do not want to miss their shrimp fry. It is evolving as their next generation’s mouthwatering dish.

It's a vintage place for classic food lover. The shop is small but comfortable sitting arrangements. Behaviour of stuff is so polite and professional. They give you the best service. The food is out of the world specially cramp chop OMG. You try their chicken fry, cutlet and potato chop those are also good but cramp chop taste unique and beyond imagine. There is always rush so you have to wait. Besides the food you can visit the Lal kuthi and Buriganga river which are walking distance from that shop. By the way beauty boarding is near by. Want try something different, definitely visit that vintage place.

This is a very old shop. If you like fancy environment then avoid it. I love their cutlet. Other must try items are crump chap(kind of mutton cutlet but more mutton and juicy) and egg chop (best you will ever find). Very tasty. They also have fish cutlet (prawn) which is also good. I don't like their tea. You can try once though.

When we think about Puran Dhaka, the first thing that comes to our mind is the mouthwatering range of foods that the old part of the capital offers. Many shops there have been serving customers from even before Bangladesh’s independence. Cafe Corner is no different. It has been around since 1962 and is now known as the New Cafe Corner. It has also served the Bengali literary figures Shamsur Rahman and Jashimuddin, along with many others. One can try its signature dish “Cram Chap,” They also serve some tasty food such as cutlets, chop, deep-fried shrimp etc & breakfast items. Cafe Corner is always full of foodies. You have to wait a while to sit and enjoy your dish. The scenario of the cafe stays the same from breakfast to dinner.

This restaurant in old Dhaka, which has been running successfully for 70 years, tastes perfect in everything from breakfast to lunch to evening snacks. Of them, Potato chop, Crum Chop, Moglai Parata, Cutlet, and Milk Tea are rich in their tastes. Disclaimer: DON'T ever visits any places based on our experiences. If we like any food, that doesn't mean that you will like it too. Everyone has different tastebuds. And not every restaurant can come up with the same food quality every single time they cook. So, PLEASE, Keep that in mind.

Food seems nothing extraordinary. Overhyped. You can make better cutlet at home. But the atmosphere is so dirty, unclean and unhygienic. You may say this is a roadside cheap hotel so I should not look for cleanliness. No the food is not that much cheap. The mutton cutlet is 190 taka.

This place will give you an excellent vibe of twentieth century cafe. It has historic significance as well. I don't know the exact year but it is really old in age. Famous writers and influencers used to sit and gossip here. A lot of influential persons, when they came to Dhaka used to stay in Beauty boarding and roam around and sit in cafe corner for snacks. I tried there famous mutton cutlet. It was something worth the price. It is prepared simply with onion and bread crumbs, give you a fresh, sweet and spicy flavor at a time. They are served with white loaf to eat with. I cut the cutlet in pieces and eat them pouring into the bread and it was really sonething delicious. And if I talk about the environment it is a cozy place, lots of people gossiping, with a old school vibe. Its obviously not a corporate place. But it will give you an good experience of old dhaka cafe. Overall I surely recommend it for the cutlet to grabe with your beloved friends, while talking about the next book you are writing to be published.

"Crum" Chops (Mutton Chops covered in Bread Crumb) here are excellent, but my personal favourite is their Cutlets and Egg-Potato Chop. Tea served here is quintessentially Calcutta-Cabin-Styled, storng liquored and an extremely sweet affair. But very good nonetheless.

We all are knows that the Puran Dhaka is familiar place for foodies. New Cafe Corner serves their traditional food from long long ago. "CrumbChap" is the representative of their cafe. It is so delicious. A crispy shell surrounds mutton kima. You can try it. We also tried mutton cutlet and alu chop. They they are below avg. and avg. quality food we thought.

One of the best in old dhaka. It also gives the vibe of the old town and the food is amazing. You'll find the food a little dry but the taste is top notch. Must try. Also don't forget to try Cutlet, Carrom chop, and Tea ❤️
