This was probably the most "Irish" experience I had for an eatery, though I'll be honest and say I don't really know how Irish it was - all I can say is that I really enjoyed it. The staff were really friendly, giving us advice about things to do, where to go (and not go). They were able to advise us about the food too. The pub is located around a touristy area but prices were pretty reasonable. Really liked how it was decorated and it was quite roomy. There was an upstairs room for private hire too it seems. We had Guinness sourdough bread, Irish coffee (whiskey), the old spot prawn pil pil, and the steak main. It was all really lovely, steak was cooked to perfection and as were the fries. Definitely glad to have had the experience!

Don’t think they need more raving reviews but amazing food and hospitality - if you are lucky enough to be hosted by Neil - he is a funny lad

Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, tasty salads. After work, if there is a football game, I usually stop by, order a salad plate, a beer and enjoy the game. I miss the days I spent there.

Beautiful Inside and out. Ground Floor is more like a Bar/Pub 1st Floor more for reservations and group gatherings. Great for Birthday dinners, Team night out & even a small Wedding party The Food is delicious and decadent. Hits the Spot. ☺️ (pun intended) The Drinks are incredible and to everyone's taste. I believe they accommodate menu substitutions to suite dietary needs.

We had a great group dinner here. We started with some oysters (d e l i c i o u s), Guinness bread and smoked almonds to share. Then I had the steak, which was tasty and perfectly cooked. Then some of us had dessert and I had a glass of Porto which I really enjoyed. Service was great too: everybody was cheerful and always smiling and we didn't have to wait long for our food. We had a great evening at the Old Spot and I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Dublin.

This is one of the best restaurants I have been in Dublin and definitely a neighborhood gem. They have a Michelin star and let me tell you.. they deserve it. I had an issue with the burger and complained and they listened and served me one of the best burgers in town. I also recommend the cheese board. The oysters are one of the beet in town and the drinks are just unbelievable. They have a great selection of wines and the service is phenomenal. I come here for drinks and food all the time. And they also are a dog friendly restaurant.

I really wanted to give them 5 star review but they really struggled with the service. The food was excellent as we had the steak and sea trout and would recommend both. The broccoli is also a great side dish. We had the tuna for an appetizer it was very good but a very small serving for the price. In terms of service wee waited a long time for our meal and when we asked about it there was not a lot of ownership for the issue which was disappointing.

Unreal Sunday roast here. Food was fantastic but the service was even better. Probably the best service I’ve had in Dublin; our waitress went above and beyond and got us an extra roast beef when they said they were sold out. The chicken was also very good. Will definitely be coming back!

We went at 3pm on busy Sunday afternoon. They were fully booked but managed to find a seat for two at the bar. Amazing service and very tasty food. We had three oysters followed by Sunday roast. Highly recommended!

We came to The Old Spot for a birthday dinner and were blown away by the service, the staff and most importantly the food. The starters of oysters and mussels was incredible and the roast was superb. After dinner cocktails were incredible - highly recommend the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini and the After Eight. Would come back in a heartbeat.

First time visiting here with friends for a Sunday roast. I went with the chicken as I had passed a few tables with it and it looked delicious. And I wasn’t wrong, it was cooked to perfection as was everything on the plate. Fantastic flavours, especially from the veg and gravy. Between the mains, desserts a few drinks it was about €50 per person. Such lovely staff too.

Wow what a wonderful dinner the deep fried Mac and cheese with truffle sauce, which a special for the night was amazing. The cod was cook to perfection crispy outside and moist inside and that lasagna with 36h cooked beef was to die for. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and unpretentious. They accept dogs which is a big plus. We could have had a better night. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Fabulous restaurant with fabulous staff. We went for dinner with our friends from NYC on our last night in Ireland and we all had a fantastic time. We would certainly recommend and go back in a heartbeat👌. Thank you David and Ann-Marie, great service.

What a cool place! So not in a touristy area, which made me love it even more! This is the 'spot' to be for Sunday Roast. The inside is absolutely stunning. Casual, but stunning. Definitely an upscale Irish pub that serves incredibly delicious food. Sunday Roast: My favorite thing about this place is the quality of the food. My second favorite is the amount of food. The entire plate is FULL. Yorkshire pudding is cooked perfectly, the roast itself is tender and rare with some nice flakely sea salt. The potatoes are crispy, the veggies still have a nice crunch to them, lastly the cauliflower au gratin is delicious. If you don't go to church on Sundays this is the place to be for a religious experience!

Quite Frankly, the best roast I have ever eaten. Every mouthful was delicious, from the beef, to the veg, to the potatoes and other sides. Food arrived quickly, was beautifully presented, and brilliantly cooked. It’s on my list of places to come back to on my next trip. Charming interior and nice wines too. Probably not the cheapest you’ll find, but good value for the quality offered.

Not in the heart of Dublin but worth the visit. The steak was good, cooked just like we asked. The chips were fantastic, so were the cocktails. The dessert left us down a bit. Shoutout to the service, just great.

They are amazing and very inclusive. I have a halal dietary requirement. They specially arranged halal chicken on request and they were well aware of halal dietary requirements which most restaurants are not. Food and staff both are really good.

Outstanding service, meal, and atmosphere. I had the carrot soup with cream, and the spicy mussels. My husband had the burger and skinny fries. All were excellent. They have a nice dining area, and a casual pub area. We arrived disheveled and locked out of our lodgings and the staff got us sorted out all while handling their service efficiently. I hope we are back in the area again.
