Gorgeous venue for a wedding. Grounds were beautifully maintained and the evening meal of smoked salmon, lamb shank and chocolate brownie was cooked to perfection.

Gorgeous place for a picnic. Large grounds to explore. The picnic site was beautifully setup with a picnic blanket and pillows, and a separate laid out table to eat the lunch. The packed lunch was a lot of food but could have been tastier.

We had our year-end lunch at their restaurant, lovely outdoor setting. Food menu was to the point with easy to choose options. Overall ambiance was perfect👌🏾 Had a resident peacock 🦚 which was a lovely sight

Absolutely love it here. First place my fiance and I looked at for our wedding and we instantly fell in love with it. Booked it the day we saw it and super excited to say we are typing the knot here. Beautiful setting with their gardens, lake and river, chapel and everything in between. There's so much that can be used here that we're struggling to think of what to use it all for on our special day. Staff and vendors related to the venue are also fantastic and have been very professional and warm.

Lovely lovely lovely surroundings and the staff is very welcoming, the servers also the same.. Food is delicious and place is very quiet. You can even see the ducks, peacocks and monkeys on the trees .

Beautiful venue for weddings and picnics. Rooms are comfortable and very clean however the water pressure is low and shower mixer was not working properly to offer a hot shower.

Very friendly service. They managed to accommodate us with a late request for a romantic set up as my friend's boyfriend wanted to propose. The venue is beautiful and has plenty of places to take beautiful picures. The breakfast was delicious as well. Would definately recommend.

Gorgeous place and beautiful rooms. The food was incredible - my husband's pork was a little bit dry but still tasty. My lamb shank was amazing and the best mashed potatoes I've ever had! We will be back!

We got married at this place 5 years back I made an arrangement advising them that we would like to come in for our anniversary shared all the info hoping they’d understand that its a special day little did I know that I had to spell it out for them. Firstly even with prior booking we had to wait for a table and secondly they didn’t even try make it special. I have been to places that will make you feel extremely special when you celebrating Toadbury didn’t even try they deserve 0 star. Im very disappointed

Called to book Christmas buffet lunch on 15 November 2023 we get there our table was not reserved. I don’t even want to get into details of how they disappointed us. We also booked an overnight stay which was also a disaster. I been their client since 2013 what used to be a great place is now falling apart.

What an exquisite piece of heaven honestly. I recently checked in for my birthday and I was so impressed with the birthday themed dessert I was surprised with. Beautiful scenery, perfect picnic setting with delectable food served including the most scrumptious fillet and lamb racks for dinner. Thank you Toadbury for the spotless and spacious room, the fantastic service from all of the staff and a truly 5 star birthday experience that I will never forget. Definitely coming back again with hubby 😍

Great lunch and the environment is so pleasant we didn't want to leave. Loved the staff who were super friendly.

The venue is beautiful and peaceful and the service what you would expect for a five star. However the food was expensive and very average. Disappointing. I had lamb shank which could have been cooked longer and was a bit bland and I had to ask for mint sauce. My partner had the pork loin which was overcooked.

Beautiful venue and friendly staff... however I do not agree with a five star rating....... a few couples including ourselves had literally quite a shock when touching shower taps... Wimpy has a standard breakfast bigger than the English breakfast and their service is much faster ... we waited an hour for breakfast and milk was not on the menu for coffee or tea.... reception is slow and non existant....

I am having my wedding at Toadbury next year. Yolande is my event planner and she has been nothing short of amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for her. Toadbury's pricing, compared with its' peers in the industry, is very reasonable and the T&C''s for the event are not onerous as with many other venues. Your T&C's are very fair. The venue itself is sublime - peaceful. Beautiful gardens with lakes, ponds, water features, bridges, birdlife, loads of trees and scenery. I cannot rave enough about Toadbury Hall. If you need to have an event, there is no other place in my opinion.

My woman and I had a beautiful experience at Toadberry Hall Country Hotel for our anniversary weekend. Upon our arrival, we were already impressed by the scenic views, the service was impeccable as well. We enjoyed the spacious Executive Suite which was clean. The sunset picnic was peaceful and romantic with a variety of delicious food, which we could not even finish. We were well fed. The next morning, breakfast was really good as well. Special mention to Nyiko from reception as well as Belinda and Enock from the restaurant. We will visit again.

We brought family living in Dubai for a light lunch Very disappointed in the fish and chips, 3 of us did not finish our fish nor the chips, take away fish and chips on CR Swart absolutely a far better meal. Won’t return here for a meal again. Hopefully you will consider buying fresh hake and have your chef do a light batter rather than I+J frozen fish

Beautiful location, best service, and great food. My girlfriend and I had the most amazing picnic experience here. It's definitely value for money. If you're looking to spoil yourself with getting closer to nature and an elite picnic experience then this is the place to go.

We went for the Romantic Picnic. There was plenty of food, I hoped they catered more food for people who don't eat beef. The dam we were next to had less water I am told because they didn't fill water so didn't look so nice, there was a bit of a smell coming from the water. The experience was not very gourmet for me.

Did the sunrise hot air balloon ride which followed on to an absolutely delicious breakfast at Toadbury Hall. The venue and views were breathtaking. Loved the sounds of peacocks and everything else that filled the air.

Worth every penny. 👌🏻 I accidentally booked for a Sunday night and we arrived on the Saturday. Staff went out of their way to give us a room despite being almost fully booked. Completely unnecessary but so lovely and courteous. 🫶🏻 Lamb Shank and Chocolate Fondant for dinner. Out of this world delicious.Lamb shank was falling off the bone and Chocolate Fondant was melt in your mouth. 😍 Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Tea, coffee and even some hot chocolate included. Such a lovely little romantic city break. Dying to try the picnics next. If they had charged me double I would have happily paid it! A really wonderful and lovely stay. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

This place has it all and is a true hidden gem in the Cradle of Humankind. We popped in out of curiosity and had a delicious lunch, paired with a few gins of course.

We had our wedding at Toabury and it went off without a hitch. Yolande our wedding coordinator was attentive and very thorough with our elaborate plans. Highly recommend the venue, if not for a wedding then just a gourmet Sunday brunch.

It wasn't a bad experience but some things could certainly have been taken care of prior to our checking in. Did not have hot water for a shower the first day however they did fix that. The fridge was not plugged in and took a while to cool down before cooling our items. The bench cushions under the mulberry tree and gazebo were full of stains and will stain your clothes if you sit on them. Maybe a roof or a tarp over the gazebo would help. Overall, not a bad experience.

We absolutely love this place. It's our home away from home. The staff are just the best, making the whole stay pleasent. You really feel like a VIP. It's not to busy and the calibre of people that do come there understand that it's a place of quiet retreat. We do wish that the pool get some urgent attention now that it's summer and COVID is in the past...The pool is letting the facility down. The restaurant is fine dining, and very good and we always enjoy the food. We do hope there is a summer menu with more variety planned soon. Keep up the good work.

Stayed over night after attending a wedding. Beautiful well kept grounds. Reasonably good size chapel. Dining area is good and the food was very well prepared. The rooms vary, but all look very good and was worth the stay. Staff were excellent. If you depend alot on wifi you will struggle with reception in certain areas. Overall a memorable experience.

Came across an event post for a family fun day out in the lovely countryside. Must say it was such a beautiful day! The atmosphere, the staff and the ambience was just so great. Would have liked for food options but the menu was well priced and kids enjoyed themselves.

Our October Porsche Club Breakfast run was hosted at the picturesque Toadbury Hall Country Hotel. Catering to the needs of discerning Porsche enthusiasts and making sure they discover new places and obtain good value for money can sometimes be challenging. But finding a magnificent little gem in Muldersdrift (which many seasoned Johburger’s did not seem to know about), makes everything worthwhile. Toadbury Hall is nestled between enormous indigenous trees and lavish gardens overlooking the beautiful dams and lawns. This time of the year, everything was lush green, complemented with blooming roses and the smell of lavender. From the first moment we met Noni, we knew we were in excellent hands. Her courteous, gracious and charming way of ensuring that she meets our expectations makes it an absolute pleasure to host such an event. The service was excellent, the food was really ample and tasty, meeting our expectations while remaining within the constraints of our available budget. Noni Mothetho and Projects Operations Manager Gary Brown personally attended the event to make sure it met with our specifications, and our guests were happy. If you want five-star service in a beautiful setting, Toadbury Hall is highly recommended, whether it is to lunch or picnic or hosting that special event. We cannot wait to return to experience the tranquil but stylish experience of Toadbury Hall.

We went here for Restaurant Week and it was quite fascinating that you can do horse rides and picnics at the venue. It's really beautiful. Definitely going back for a picnic

Beautiful venue, with very competent staff

The venue looks amazing, we ate at the resturant overlooking the lake. The food was good however had a incident where by the milk shakes my son and myself order had insects in them, not sure how this happen at a 5 star place , but they resolved it without any fuss. Will definitely come here again.

Bijou Restaurant: Great views and friendly staff but the food (the main reason we visited + it's for restaurant week) was disappointingly poor. The lamb was well done (we werent asked how we'd like it) & the sauce was very salty. The kingklip was chewy & dry. If you just want to have some drinks (not cocktails though cos they dont serve those) in a beautiful setting, away from the city, this is it. For food, I dont recommend it.

I had my daughter's 21st birthday. 👌 wow, a great service we had. Friendly and warm service to every staff member from receptionist to housekeeping to waiters. Girls had a great time and enjoyed every service that is swimming pool service with those delicious platters, dinner service with 5 course meal, bon-fire service,breakfast and picnic. The environment is so theraupic- you just want to be there. Thank you will come back again.
