I can honestly say, hands down, this was THEE BEST MEAL. I HAVE HAD ALL YEAR SO FAR!!! Oh my soul.. what a spoil! The pork belly was cooked to perfection... absolutely succulent.. (The jus was a bit too sweet, but that's personal preference) T-Bone steak booked to perfect, peppercorn sauce, 10/10 The chocolate mouse.... just for this dessert, I would come through to enjoy! Soft music in the background.... great, a beautiful atmosphere... Would be pleasant if there was an activity or 3 to keep the kiddos busy.. Not everything breaks the bank... Soccer net.... Hoops.. You do have the space to accommodate the same.. Otherwise, overall was pure pleasure! 👌

What a stunner of a place! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to come here! The food is absolutely exquisite. My husband said it was the best steak he’s ever had in his life. My daughter is a picky eater but she devoured the delicious pizza. I wasn’t that hungry so I had the fish cakes and veggie side and those fish cakes are to die for! The ice cream with chocolate sauce is legitimately the best chocolate sauce I have ever tasted! The grounds are absolutely beautiful- so relaxing and peaceful I can’t wait to come back!

We held a fiftieth family birthday at Casalinga, and had an absolutely fantastic time. The grounds are stunning, with a huge, well manicured outdoor seating area, and a gorgeous orchard. Every aspect of the grounds is a photographic opportunity. I could well imagine some beautiful wedding photos being taken here. The restaurant itself was stunning. We sat on the balcony, overlooking the fields that meander down to the edge of the forest. It was breathtaking. There is plenty of indoor seating (literally room for hundreds) and the decor is very rustic, with something of a stellenbosch vineyard vibe. The food was incredible. We were a large party, and sampled a range of foods, including chicken livers, steaks, lamb chops and shanks, and a huge range of desserts. The food was expertly prepared and delicious. Our compliments to the chef. From the moment we arrived, the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They'd set up our area beautifully, with rose petals scattered on the table, and a separate area set up to cut the birthday cake. Our waiter was incredibly patient. Upon arrival, for the first half hour, we were too busy walking around, taking photos and chatting, and didn't even think to order drinks. He stood quietly to one side, waited for the fuss to die down, and spent the next three hours providing a first class service. Overall, our visit to Casalinga was an absolute joy, and one of the high points of our visit to South Africa. A truly stunning, romantic and inspiring location those special life events.

Lovely venue for end-of-year functions, weddings (beautiful chapel) outdoor area for children to play, lots of goodies to buy, outdoor area reminds me of Capetown's wine farms. Lots of shades - white linen table cloths and serviettes. Service was a bit slow - many people and Christmas functions going on.

We went to the night market, and It was our first time there, beautiful venue, lovely setting and a lovely little market with some nice stalls for anything from beer to deserts, coffee and handmade soaps. Grabbed a bite to eat at leafy greens, by far one of the nicest veg burgers I've had, fantastic texture and Great crunch. Would strongly recommend.

Beautiful gardens and tranquil surrounding. Dog friendly (on a leash), water bowls along walking route amongst pine trees, fruit trees, bananas, and Dalia flowers. I'm sure this is an amazing wedding venue too. Leafy Green vegetarian restaurant and coffee shop. Def recommend

I enjoyed my time here, planning on going back as the time I had was limited but I enjoyed the little time I spent there. The staff was very friendly, the place caterers for everything. Whether you’re looking for a great time with one,2 or a group of people, I saw that they also cater for weddings and other functions. Absolutely stunning, from the entrance to it’s different sitting areas, looked like the also had an area where if people want for their private function maybe on a busy day as the place is quite spacious. I simply cannot wait to explore it more when I’m back in Joburg again. I was captivated by it’s stunning and calming atmosphere that I couldn’t take a lot of pictures but will definitely do better the next time😉

We had our wedding at the venue, and the staff were exceptionally helpful setting up everything and making the day run smoothly. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. The rooms are very comfortable and well maintained. Definitely would recommend!

The setting of Casalinga was gorgeous. There was a fire crackling, fairy lights twinkling, and just an overall warm, rustic ambience. The food was delicious! Every dish we ordered was well made and presented, and served so quickly too! Our family lunch here was such a treat! We'll definitely be returning 😊

Really bad service, unhelpful waiters. Anything ordered took forever to arrive. Waiters forgot items / special requests. Some orders were incorrect. Waiters ignored our table when we tired to get their attention (table of 20). Food was really good when it eventually arrived but it doesn't make up for the appalling service and we will not be coming back or recommending to anyone.

I was here for a photoshoot, the environment was so beautiful, tranquil, homely, gave a timeless vibe. Most of all everyone who attended to us were so kind, which gladdened my heart more than the good ambience. Kindness is a rare customer service attribute you find these days in most places. In summary I love this place.

My first time at The Gin and Rum Festival at Casalinga and I'm so happy we went. Parking your car in a nearby field and walking down a dirt road which lead us to a clearing where stalls were set up for our beverages and food. Nice trendy people enjoying the last of our summer days. Only question is what were the organizers thinking when they decided on the entertainment? The 3 acts on the day I feel did not bring the vibe at all....a bit disappointing 😥

Booking taken perfectly. We arrived ten minutes before our booking time. Were seated by the lady who took the booking. And that was it. For almost 10 minutes waiters and managers in blue shirts just walked past us not acknowledging or greeting us.... We were like wall flowers. Eventually we passed a loud comment as a waiter passed by the table... "hello... I wonder if you will greet us". .. Which stopped him in his tracks. He asked if we had been attended to and obviously we said no and said even your manager... Who was standing and watching this interaction has ignored us... Which he continued to do and walked away from the area. Drinks were offered, menus provided and a new waiter introduced to take care of us. No side plates, no serviettes on the table... So were they actually expecting us? We had a garden salad to share. Well presented. But so very sweet... Gosh quite disconcerting. I ordered the fillet with roast baby potatoes and veg with pepper sauce. Tasty and well presented. My hubby had braised rib on mash. Also tasty and well presented. Desert was Lemon meringue... But someone forgot to add the lemon...I added lemon from the wedge on my side plate. The pavlova was tasty. Our waitress took fair care of us. Would I drive 45 minutes to visit Casalinga again?..... Nah don't think so this menu was not that great.... Rather disappointed as this was on my bucket list. Interesting that when we left we greeted a new person on the desk who didn't bother to acknowledge the greeting... Blegh.. Not worth R1200

The food is delicious and well prepared. Just disappointed with the lamb shank, it was a bit dry. The T bone amazing texture and cooked to perfection. They probably need to invest in more servers. They too long to bring drinks

Woman at reception was the most rude and condescending person I have ever encountered. She demanded that we must personally report to her and request a table and the waiter we had sent said she would not allow him to do so on our behalf. When I asked why this was the case she said she needed to "see" us. I felt so unwelcome I elected to depart and she seemed very satisfied with this. (Add info: dressed in closed shoes in a golf shirt and shorts similar to most people at the venue) As per request from the owner, the incident occurred on Sunday the 14th of January 2024 around lunch.

What a costly and disappointing experience. My husband and I decided to come here for valentines day. They were running a special where you get dinner, bed and breakfast for R2999. It turned out to be so much more expensive than that. We arrive and are told there is covered parking only to drive on a wild goose chase realizing there is no covered parking available and just ended up parking where we had originally parked 20 min later. We then have dinner and at the end of the dinner realize that gratuity was not included but automatically added to the bill. So we pay the stipulated gratuity and have the waiter asks us why we aren't adding more gratuity on the already forced gratuity. We then get to the room and there is no flat sheet on the bed. A single fan in the room did not make the room cool enough to use the duvet so we ended up sleeping with nothing on us being bitten by mosquitoes. We then go to shower in the morning and the water temperature was up and down from hot to freezing without touching the faucet, making it impossible to shower. We then go to our "included" breakfast and get given a set menu with no prices on it. We ordered on drink of the included menu with a breakfast each only to get the bill at the end saying we have to pay and extra R100 because the breakfast was only a R300 voucher and the breakfast we had was more than that (on the specific menu they gave us with no prices) and again an included gratuity. Overall a very expensive disappointing visit.

I live next door to the venue and find them completely inconsiderate to those around them. There is litter along their fences. Clearly all that glitters is not gold. When we approach them about issues, there is always an excuse. Very very sad that it’s all about the money… we’re lucky to get sleep some nights as base bins are pointed directly towards our property. My poor animals are frightened half to death. The best part is, it goes on all night and then the sound checks happen before 8.

An entire gem. They can also host events. The food is delicious, the choices aren't that many but, of the available choices, you'll get thoughtfully prepared items. The food balances. There's lots of parking space. The guy at the gate is friendly.

My children took me to Casalinga in Mothers day. It was chilly at home, but the weather in the area it's situated is always good. Gardens are lovely. Security good. Wonderful friendly reception. Our waiter was extremely funny and considered. Excellent food, timeously served. We all had a wonderful day.

Loved the place. The food was amazing, we didn't wait long at all. And the pricing is surprisingly reasonable. We were helped by a man called Titus. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. There's heaps to do there, I went with my nephews and they were having a go around the gardens and even to the adventure course. I would definitely return! I'll be adding this to our preferred destination list.

We had a great experience at the Thank God festival, The redwood trees look very beautiful and these a tranquil breeze I enjoyed. As soon as the concert ended we went to the restaurant which had a great appeal , its very unique and I loved how intimate it felt. Great vibes! We ordered dessert and the cheese cake from my friends plate was delicious, definitely a front runner and I would highly recommend it. My chocolate mousse was ok. This yard is big enough to have a fares wheel so I hope they will create more entertainment for the kids outdoor. Our waiter was attentive and very kind, great customer service overall! As we went to the ladies room we were greeted by staff and they were very warm and friendly. I will definitely return and would highly recommend this to my family members. Thank you for a great experience!

Rooms are very tired and need maintenance. Shower door did not close, main bedroom door also did not close. The generator gave up during load shedding. I've paid much less for much better accommodation. The scenery was lovely in the morning. Though the wait staff were less friendly when they learnt that I was paying for breakfast with a breakfast voucher. The voucher did not cover the breakfast and i had to pay in ( Not a lot but it would be nice if the whole breakfast was covered)

I visited Casalinga on 23 April 2023 for a birthday lunch and we were seated in the garden. The food was very tasteful and the portion size were good. Unfortunately the nice food was spoiled by the overwhelming smell of cannabis. I do not mind guests having a smoke in the garden but smoking cannabis in a public setting is against the law. The smoking of cannabis is only allowed in the privacy of your home and not in the presence of children. There were many small children playing in the garden area which meant that they were exposed to the smell of cannabis. Totally unacceptable!! When we had to order dessert we were given our options by our waiter. We ordered and then he returned to inform us some one of the desserts were sold out. Maybe the kitchen staff need to prepare enough desserts for the day or maybe the waiter must check the availability of the desserts before taking the orders.

Very disappointed and irritated with Casalinga. We booked a lunch for our mothers 70th which is a beautiful milestone. We went to the facility a 3 weeks before the date, looked at where we wanted to sit and did the booking. Day arrived and we went to lunch expecting the peace and tranquility that we saw on the day we arrived only to find that they had a market on and we were now seated miles away from our original request and had to deal with loud music and extremely poor service. Broken chairs, dust everywhere from the fact were were sitting on sand. Menus took over 30min to come to the table, drinks took 45min from when we ordered them. Food arrived late after watching them walk out with it several times before finding our table and this meant it was cold and the attitude was take it or leave it. We were there for just short of 3 hours due to the wait for food and drinks and the fact we had to go find someone so we could pay and leave. Why would they not have simply picked up a phone and called us to inform us of this event so we could either reschedule or cancel? They messaged us confirmation of the booking, they called us 3 days before arrival to ensure we were still coming and nothing was ever said. Thank you Casalinga for ruining such a special occasion. You will no doubt ignore this review like you did our complaints on the day.

Excellent Day out to celebrate my father's birthday. Classy and relaxed with awesome jazz music by Cris Illari and Co. The food was Divine, service superb and a wonderful walk with my 'golden oldie dacshund', Jasper in the orchards. We lay under the banana trees and looked up at the clouds. A spot of heaven I tell ya! Thank you to Rob the Manager for his care.

The food at the restaurant will keep you going back, the outdoor setting however could be improved. Went with my family for the first time this past Sunday - got there to outdoor 'garden' setting that seemed very makeshift. Had us sitting on dusty uncomfortable plastic white chairs, on soil patches where grass was previously. Almost left, but glad we stayed for the food. Absolutely delicious - had prawns & steak with cheesecake as dessert. They need to improve on the seating & setting. Will go back, simply because the food was that good.

The worst decision for accommodation. The rooms are old with bare minimum finishings. We made use of the restaurant for dinner and the food was good. A waiter then came knocking at our room past 9pm to ask that we settle the restaurant bill when we asked that it be included in our accommodation bill. There was an event at the restaurant on the night of our stay and the music went on for hours. There went the tranquil getaway we planned. Ugh it was a terrible accommodation experience overall. I would definitely still use the restaurant and events facilities again.

We returned to Casalinga, after more than 20-years(!), to have lunch in the restaurant to celebrate a birthday... very glad that we did and well worth the 30min drive to feel as though you've had a day out. The property is well maintained and welcoming, service was good and the food was delicious. Thank you, we will not wait that long to come back again 🤗

Considering this was my first time here (my wife is quite the veteran) the visual appeal is definitely there for patrons outside. This coupled by the exceptional food definitely made it quite the Sunday lunch out. The only let down was the dirty cutlery and surfaces (who knows when those baby chairs have been cleaned) and the shaky service at times.

I went here for a beautiful wedding and this place is truly stunning. Lovely open outside area, and a nice restaurant indoors. Beautiful wedding venue. Vegetarian and vegan food options were great. Accommodation was also very comfy and cozy. Coffee shop on the premises next morning was perfect and carrot cake delicious.

While the venue is beautifully located and eating outside deserves a 5 star, the food and value for money this time was not deserving. The lamb shank was excellent but he chicken dish and pasta dish was average quality and expensive for what you got. Been a regular at Casalinga for years and this was a disappointment.

The atmosphere was beautiful here. Casalinga Organic Farm is the type of venue that makes one feel comfortable enough to want to find a spot in the shade for an afternoon nap. The food was fresh and well-presented. Service was very good, and it was clear our server Kelvin was proud of the food and of the service he offered. I wouldn't have found this beautiful restaurant if my delightful tour guide Steve from Stephenson Adventures hadn't made this recommendation. Casalinga Organic Farm is an experience in South Africa worth having.

We just got married at Casalinga and I highly recommend Casalinga for every bride and groom. Great location, beautiful inside area, outside garden area and beautiful architecture, plenty of parking, beautiful view. We took our photo's in their woods, which were magical. They also did our catering, a three course meal and platters for my guests after our ceremony, with alcohol beverages. My guests can still not stop talking about how delicious and amazing all the food were. Tynille Stead, the manager, is amazing and was super helpful the entire way through. They also supplied me with furniture, which complimented my theme very well. They also work with a lot of great vendors that they recommend to you. I've used Pretty bunches for my décor and flowers, which I highly recommend to every bride to be.
