I got my haircut by Nicole in June and have debated whether to post this or not… it was an extremely disappointing cut. I shared that this was one of the first things I was doing postpartum and wanted to cut a good amount of hair off. She heard that and fairly quickly did a rough chop without asking more questions or making sure she understood. My hair ended up much shorter than expected and exactly how I asked her NOT to do it (i expressed that I didn’t want a “triangle head” look). I’ve done this cut (long bob) successfully in the past with other stylists and was really disappointed with Nicole’s work. I would not recommend Effigy and will not be returning.

I have been a loyal customer to this salon for over 7 years. I have always loved the work that they do to my hair. However, today for the first time in 7 years. I was running late and had to move my appointment by 15 mins. Unfortunately, as I arrived at downtown Elmhurst I was stuck on the other side of the train tracks due to two cargo trains passing by at the same time. I called to express that I was stuck just on the other side. I was then informed that they were cancelling my appointment. I find this to be incredibly disheartening. Especially considering I have personally waited for my stylist many times due to the same circumstances of being stuck by the trains passing. I had to go to work with a hat on my head due to this incident. I was completely unprepared to be hat free. Considering I was going to have it cut and styled prior to going to work. I will never go back to Effigy due to this incident. Yes Effigy does a great job. However, this blatant disregard of my loyalty to this salon makes me never want to go back again. Effigy doesn’t care about loyal customers.

really bad experience! i went in and asked for lighter hair than what i had already achieved at home and walked out with dark hair. It will now take me ages to lighten it back to the way it was and i lost 180 dollars in the process. I asked for a protein treatment and got a hair mask that i could’ve done at home instead. she did not listen to anything i wanted and i walked out 180 dollars short and with practically my natural hair color.

Effigy Salon is such a vibing place. It’s right off the tracks and is an awesome place to go check out. They have a full service bar on the lower level with little apps you can order as well while getting your pamper on. I personally use the amazingly talented stylist, Kristen Higley. She got it right the 1st time and all I had to do was show her a picture of what I had in mind. Love her & love this place.

I can’t say enough good things about Effigy and specifically my stylist, Ciara! I’ve been a client for about 2 years and I have NEVER had a bad experience. Ciara listens to exactly what I ask for, goes over details of the process and spends time making sure the quality of her work is top notch. I will continue to see her for years to come! 🥰

Effigy Lounge is a great place to sit and enjoy a drink. Love the cocktails! Always something fun and new to try. Effigy has a great atmosphere inside and out! Love the Patio. It’s a great place to book small parties. Love hanging out there and meeting up with friends.

Nicole did my hair and she was amazing . She did exactly what I wanted and made it look even better than I explained ! It was my first time here and thank God I found this cute place. Atmosphere and people were awesome . I saw men and women coming out looking flawless. I definitely recommend this salon. The reviews did not disappoint and price is reasonable ! I'll be coming back most definitely!
