Such a shame this pub has so much potential. We live down the road and have been there many many times purely down to the fact their chicken burger is very very good.. sadly that is where the service ends. We have been going there for 18 months hoping for things to change however from start to finish apart from eating this burger the whole experience is unwelcoming and awkward, and you feel it in the pub. You walk in and the bar manager doesn’t even look up to welcome you. Bearing in mind there’s 4 people on one table in the bar area. A simple hello, come in get a seat and someone will be with you soon would go a long way. We sat down and had to get menus ourselves, still not even being acknowledged, finally the waitress who I saw a previous review something stating she clearly doesn’t want to be there, we have been served by her many times and I have to agree, customer service goes such a long way, and in such a lovely family residential area it’s a must. Kids are clearly not welcome in this pub. Also… you are a pub, not a high end restaurant in London. You have options for dogs on your menu and nothing for children, in Epsom… if you don’t want children then actually request it and don’t make families feel ridiculously unwelcome. When the waitress finally arrived, we ordered, or attempted too, half of your items weren’t available, and some totally removed from your menu, bearing in mind your menu is brown printed paper, it’s very simple to re print these items you aren’t offering anymore. No offer for any alternative or trying to be accommodating. At this point, I would have walked out however we was starving and like I said your chicken burger is very good so we stayed. Ordered houmous and 2 chicken burgers and decided we would take the children to the cricketers after as yes there food isn’t up to your standards however there service is second to none and you couldn’t find friendlier more welcoming staff, that goes further than food. The bread took 20 mins.. for 4 bits of soggy baguette and dry houmous, the burgers were very good as usual however it’s not enough to earn more than 1 star. Your bar manager was constantly on the phone talking about your beer orders ridiculously loud which is unprofessional and very disturbing to our lunch, however this was better than when he spent 30 mins discussing the cons of the new Epsom social and how the pub owners get around paying tax with paying themselves little to claim less tax, not something I think they would appreciate being shouted around their pub. I’ve never had a good experience in here, never felt welcomed, it’s a real shame as it has so so much potential but the bar manager is rude and pretentious. Like I said, a simple hello and smile goes miles for families and actually anyone wanting a beer or bite to eat in a “nice” country pub.

Been coming here for years due to the great food but today we got asked to leave because both my partner and I had tops on that were sleeveless and against policy, and this 'policy' includes sitting outside on a pub bench, which we were! And we'd already ordered drinks! Not to mention hottest day of the year. Shocking for a local pub! Clocked the girl on the table next to us wearing much more revealing outfit but nothing said. Good way to lose customers and bordering on discrimination.

Went today to see the new refurbishment and try the new menu ..Wow! it looks so much better , cosy and friendly ambiance and food to die for. We went for a late lunch and were totally looked after from start to finish. The food was outstanding, honestly the best food I've ever had in a pub , its in a class of its own . This town is lucky to have this hidden gem ,so please go and support them because it's rare to find a place with not one fault. A happy place indeed for any age group . Can't wait to return

Our group of 10 enjoyed he Christmas party menu. The portions were generous, the food was tasty and we really appreciated the table configuration, with 3 seats on each side and 2 seats on each end. So much better for catching up with people than a long narrow table! Will be booking our xmas get together at the Jolly Coopers next year as well!

Amazing food and drinks. Really good service and a log burner! Just perfect for a (gastro) pub lunch.

I had a fantastic Sunday lunch at Coopers with my husband this past weekend. Our server, Gabby was absolutely fantastic. The kitchen was a bit swiped so we told we would need to wait for mains. So we ordered Olives and bread to snack on. Well I am so glad it was busy as otherwise I would not have ordered the Olives. I haven't had such good Olives in many years wow!!!!!! In the end our main meals didn't take too long and we enjoyed the sun and atmosphere of the courtyard. I had the seafood linguine which was delicious and fresh. Not creamy which was such a lovely change. My husband had the korma chicken which was also a real treat! I would 100% recommend coming to enjoy a meal at this fine establishment.

First visit to 'The Jolly Coopers' after a Google search to find a good Sunday roast! The reviews were really good so hubby and I thought we'd give it a go! Staff were super friendly, drinks came quickly and so did the food! We chose the mixed roast which consisted of a lamb shank, roast pork and roast beef. The plate of food was huge but the Yorkshire pudding was even bigger! The food was delicious and we will definitely be going back!

Hadn't been there for ages. I was really impressed with the revamp. Good cider. Ten minutes walk from my house so will definitely sink a few more cold ones there in the near future.

Enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch here with friends. The portion sizes were good, meat cooked to perfection. We all really enjoyed the well-seasoned roast potatoes and thought there was an excellent variety of tasty vegetables on the plate! Beef, pork, lamb shank all very good - there is also a vegetarian option. Cosy carpeted bar area, with an excellent variety of drinks, including beer brewed at the micro brewery on site.

Visited this pub for first time on Friday night. Great atmosphere, and log fires very warming. The burger and skinny fries were excellent. Timing in the kitchen was spot on as the burger had come nice and hot and fries straight from the fryer. Will be heading back for sure!

Great ‘little’ pub. Friendly, good selection of drinks including ales that pour to a good standard, good food and reasonably priced for an independent local. Welcoming place. Can get busy especially if outside not suitable due to weather so recommend booking if looking to specifically eat as a group.

Booked a first time visit for Xmas meal with friends. Restaurant was cold and draughty. The menu was basically shut down. (The restaurant section was not busy) We ended up having to take what ever was left (basically burgers) inc two starters to make up a meal. In fairness we were offered a free bottle of wine but were over charged £9 on final bill anyway. One star for table staff who were doing their best but at near £250 for 2 starters, 6 mains and drinks - not for us.

Visited this pub with a craving for some fish and chips after a small hike in the park, but they ran out at just after 2pm. I was disappointed. I ended up getting the double chicken burger instead, which was really good. For dessert i had the apple and berry crumble. It was ok. It didn't seem to have much apple init, as I mostly tasted berries and I would have preferred the ice cream on the side. The crumble on top was good though. The staff were nice and friendly. Nice pub to relax in after a walk in the area. I would visit again and hopefully arrive in time for the fish 😉.

Without a doubt, the BEST roast dinner we have had in a restaurant or pub for a very long time (maybe ever) and we have tried quite a few! My sister had a gorgeous sausage and mash and the kids food was also fresh and delicious. Lovely fruity ales, great wine and all round brilliant service! Highly recommend over anywhere to be honest! 😀

The Jolly Coopers is a cracking pub near to Epsom Common. The roast dinner I had was one of the best I've had in years. As you can see from the pictures I posted myself and my mate cleared both plates. Also the bar staff were really friendly. I would definitely recommend coming here.

Great pub tucked away in the back streets of Epsom which has it's own micro brewery. Can't comment on the food but the staff are friendly and the beer is excellent

We all had great meals here. Staff friendly and a lovely atmosphere. Child friendly. We will be back, again! The burger was described as the best burger ever eaten (he's eaten a lot, including in fancy restaurants). The fish and chips where excellent. Steak and ale pie yummy. Empty plates all round.

Quiet location and good range of beers (including several of their own brews) were highlights. The beautifully presented burger was very dry though

We had an excellent Sunday roast at “The Jolly Coopers Pub” today. There was a variety of cooked vegetables, a very generous serving of meat, tasty gravy and a massive Yorkshire pudding. We enjoyed every mouthful and plan to return soon. As well as the delicious food we also appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the prompt service. We also enjoyed the music playing softly in the background and the tastefully decorated surroundings. Highly recommended!

A pleasant venue to sit in the rear garden under cover for a boys annual lunch time beer. Ranmore bitter. A happy to two hours with personal covid safe service

Evening drink at Epsom only microbrewery. This weeks beer was a Fuzzchat Crescent 3.5%. Floral, citrus top notes with an earthy finish and no lingering bitter taste - enjoyed and will be back to try more. They’ve turned the car park into a comfortable outdoor seating area. Table service was excellent, fast and friendly. Pudding and coffee for the wife tasted fresh and homemade.

What a lovely little pub tucked away down a quite little country road. An awesome little outdoors area has been set up outside the front of the pub where you can sit at bench with an umbrella should you need some shade. Service was great with very friendly and helpful staff. The food was quite good and reasonably priced with a small selection of locally brewed beers available. Would definitely come again.

Really nice. Came here on a hot July weekday afternoon with friends and family for lunch and to try the home made fuzzchat beer. Food, drinks and service all great. Would love to come back.

Very friendly and welcoming dining pub where I enjoyed good food and an equally good drinks menu. Situated on the border of the green belt, patrons get the benefit of a rural country type setting and atmosphere and also only being a short distance from the busy town of Epsom. When one wants that more chilled out experience, this is where the two worlds meet.

Small traditional pub situated in a side road just behind Stamford Green. I went at lunch time - the pub was quiet but incredibly friendly and welcoming. The sea bass from the Specials menu was excellent. Well worth a visit.

Such a lovely place to enjoy with friends or take the family. Food is absolutely stunning, Great selection of beers on tap, wine is to die for, and you'll never be short of a new Gin & Tonic combination! Staff couldn't make you feel more at home! Whether you're sitting by the wood fire or enjoying a drink in their lovely beer garden, you're guaranteed to have a great time. Only half hour from London but you feel like you're properly immersed in the countryside! A Must if you're taking the dog for a walk across Epsom Common!

JC is not where you would expect to find an eatery of this type. What I mean is that, it sits in a narrow road in a residential area. The building looks a little tired on the outside and not dissimilar inside. However, if you went there to feel cosy, warm and to enjoy eating and drinking with your family and friends, then you would have chosen well. The atmosphere is good, as well as the food. I had a Sunday roast, it was one of best tasting and most generous portion of food on a plate I have had for a long time. I am definitely going back. Disfruta.

For such a hidden neighbourhood pub, this place is a gem. Ate and drank here on four occasions during business travel and the food was fantastic each time. Can't go wrong with the Cod, Thai Chicken Curry, and Pork. Liked the selection of local Real Ale's too. The Ranmore from Surrey Hills was my go-to. Only thing keeping this review from five stars was the overly loud pop music from corner ceiling speakers (especially in dining room). If it were rock...I'd probably enjoy it loud.

This is just a great pub. Fantastic selections of beers and ciders. Fresh food cooked on the premises, and it's delicious! Service is friendly and efficient. Five stars!

One of the best pub roast we have had, going to take a lot to bet this.. Pictur shoes the trio of roast @£30.00 initially I thought this was rather expensive but itas massive and the amount of meat was well worth the value..

Spent my last evening in the UK with my close friends here. Great food. Good drinks. Really enjoyed it. Had a fantastic time until close when we were politely asked to go since the bar had closed. Thank you and the same to staff tonight for being so kind.

Visited the pub yesterday with my wife and two dogs for a late lunch / early dinner and drinks. We tried their specials menu - grilled sea bass and also got the chicken burger to takeaway for our daughter. The food, drinks and service were excellent. Highly recommend and we will be back for sure.

First visit to the Jolly Coopers and hugely impressed. Food was a bit more special than normal pub food. Lovely surroundings and attentive staff. All in all a great experience and will return.

A fantastic pub just off Epsom Common. Less busy than near-by The Cricketers, and with more interesting ales and much better food. The Sunday roasts are lovely, especially if you like a huge Yorkshire pudding. Dog friendly too!
