Absolutely delicious, simple food that tastes very homemade. Highly recommended. There was a short line to get a table so would be wise to come at opening time. No English menu but you can point at photos you see on Google Maps and ask for it. Pay for your meal at the front, no need to ask for the bill.

My standards were maybe a little elevated given the hype I found in the foodie community but I tried to level with myself beforehand thinking "don't get your hopes up, it's so cheap that you can't expect the food to be that great". I mean we're talking McDonald's prices. €5 for pasta, €7 for mains. Add on the free bread and dirt cheap contorni, and wine at €1.5 for 1/4 litre and you can leave buzzed and stuffed for €20. I know this because I just did. Now the food? Absolutely excellent. Again I didn't have super high hopes at the price point but they absolutely nailed it. The roast beef with potatoes is to die for - you must get this dish. Service was excellent as well, pacing couldn't have been better and they spoke English despite it being a very local place. Very buzzy with communal seating and a lot of locals. Toilets are cleaner than I've found in most other places. For the $-$$ price range it's definitely a top 5 lifetime meal.

The service was absolutely fine when we went and the dishes were unbelievable! Apparently it was one of the last places Anthony Bourdain dined in for his TV shows before his death. Don't expect fine dining... Just great home cooked food

The reviewers were not lying when they said to get there early. I maybe got there about 5 minutes after it officially opened and had to wait about 20 or so minutes before being seated for a Party of 1. Also truth, small groups will be sat at tables with other people more than likely. But the food was definitely low-cost (about 5 euros for each dish) and tasty! 2 dishes and a side was sufficient. I had the ravioli with oil and the pasta with red sauce & meat. The greens weren't that great (but I'm also from the Southern part of the US). All in all, I'd return. Great typical Italian dishes. Sweet staff, spoke English. Paid with card. I posted their current menu.

It is such a good restaurant with lots of food. Very affordable food and drinks. Expect to share table with other customers, great way to meet others. It is a busy place, but food comes to the table quickly.

It was quite an experience. The restaurant is not stylish at all but it's just very Italy, very authentic -- busy, kind of loud, less privacy, relaxing. The food was good, not "wow" good, more like cooked from a relative, who cooks well. And you can get the famous Bistecca in a very generous portion with a very good price. There is no reservation, better come 15-20 min before opening. Definitely to recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This place feels like home. The food is amazing and super cheap, the service is so nice and this place is crowded like hell. The only negative thing I see is the extremely long queue you have to do outside (1:15 hour) and that sometimes they have to sit you with people you don't know and that can be sometimes uncomfortable.

This place is AMAZING. The staff is so sweet, they open promptly at 715. Be there early or be prepared to wait in a LONG line. The food is classic, simple, and delicious Italian. It's not fancy, it's like grandma makes because grandma is making it. Go in expecting to eat well, leave full, and not go broke doing it. See photos.

You can’t miss this!!!! Food was one of the best meals I’ve had in Italy. Great atmosphere with laughter and smiles all round. VERY CHEAP and GREAT SERVICE. This is not high end dining so people with high end expectations should not hold any comparison as it is a family orientated restaurant that aims to feed and satisfy customers efficiently. Also, the desserts are a must (coming from a non-dessert person) !!!

Lively trattoria with very simple, honest, tasty, home style food. Good service, great ambience, and very affordable. Full review: we arrived 30 minutes before opening time, for dinner, and there was already a queue - but we were seated immediately upon open. Menu is very simple. This is home style food, like nonna makes, so don't come here expecting fancy dishes or presentation. However, the food was very tasty and wholesome. Staff were friendly, offering good service and answered questions about the menu well. Great ambience with people eating and chatting freely. Very affordable prices. Serving size quite good, given how cheap the food is. If you want a simple but tasty food experience, away from tourist traps, this is the place.

A really wonderful experience that you should definitely partake in. A family run tradition place, full of locals. No reservations, it opens at 1915, we were there 5 mins early. When we left there was a queue. The plates are all small and vey reasonably priced. We ate 4 courses with drinks for about €60. The waiters translated the menu for us and we're very helpful, patient and had a good sense of humour. The good was traditional and flavourful, simple but not plain. Very fast from the kitchen and tasted fresh and light.

My favourite local spot for lunch in Florence, bar none - since moving here more than a year ago! Finally got to bring my partner here when she visited Florence, and we just loved it. The food was simple local fare, but hearty, homey, and delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable and authentic - full with local regulars. Highly recommended, and will come again many times!

Don’t expect fancy food here, just wonderfully cooked feel-good dishes. I ate the most simple, but most delicious pasta in my life here. They’re all so friendly and the food is absolutely gorgeous. We went there by 9pm on a Wednesday and there was still a small waiting line. We also ate in like 15min. The food comes out of the kitchen faster than you can blink. Very good old-fashioned food for no money at all. Absolutely loved it.

AMAZING, local spot. Family style tables so you may sit with someone you don’t know! Makes it fun & you get to know locals. Get there right when they open at 7:15. The line was already in place when we arrived. We were able to sit immediately as well. It was constantly packed the entire time. The Best “home-cooked” meal we had Italy !! Amazing pasta, meatballs, and chicken. I’d come back & recommend. Oh not to mention , great prices. 2 pasta dishes , meatballs, chicken, and carafe of wine for 27€. Can’t beat that! Staff was super kind, attentive & helpful. amazing experience.

Excellent homestyle cooking with friendly service (they were more than happy to introduce the menu to us in english), great prices. It was so good, we came at least once a week during our time in Florence. Menu changes daily so you can always try something new.

Affordable restaurant in Florence. Most of the customers seemed to be locals. The reviews were correct: food is similar to what an Italian grandmother would serve at home. Nothing fancy but very traditional I would say. The restaurant can be very busy though and you would expect to wait in line during peak hours. The staff were still friendly despite how busy it was.

Beautiful restaurant, quick service, free bread, say no more. Incredible value too — we got a prosciutto starter, two primi, two secondi, one side and a litre of wine and the bill came to under 40 euro. The pasta was very tasty but the undoubted star was the rosbif and potatoes — I don’t know what they’re doing with them and I wish I knew enough Italian to have been able to ask, but yeah, these may be the best potatoes I have ever consumed. We need their secret

Absolutely amazing. We went there on our third night in florence and had been to another trattoria the night before - this was miles ahead. The food is of the highest quality, service polite and quick, prices beyond fair. We shared 5 main courses, had a side dish, 1/2 of wine, 1L of water and two espressi and paid 45€ - everything tasted absolutely fantastic. I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone!

So delicious! The most authentic restaurant experience one can have in Florence. My partner and I must have been the only foreigners in the restaurant. Felt like we were enjoying home made food made by an Italian grandma. 🍝 Very nice staff and super quick service.

No frills Tuscan cuisine, like grandmas would cook it. Simplicity at its finest and incredibly cheap. Beccala and chickpeas were delicious. Join the queue, no reservations, but your wait will be worth it!

A great little place with a cozy, local atmosphere. The food is cheap and delicious. The menu is only in English, but the workers can speak English and will gladly translate the menu for you. The service is friendly and fast The menu is focused on pasta, fish, a few meats, and cheese. It is possible to get takeaway. You might have to wait in line to get a table.

The food here is some of the best we had in Italy. Maybe the best, and also the cheapest. 1st and 2nd dish are 10 Euros. Small eater could just eat one dish. We got there around lunch opening and didn’t need to wait long. Service was good, but you are there for the food.

Can't go wrong here, perfect traditional Italian food just like nonna's. Very cheap and a great vibe with communal tables. Got there at around 9pm and had to wait around 40 minutes for 2, so just make sure you factor that in when visiting. They seem to remain open later than scheduled, I assume until the crowd dies off.

10/10! I highly recommend this place over all the other lovely restaurants i've been just because of how authentic and simple it is. It tastes like home even though we're far from home. We got the tortellini al sugo and the vitello steccato arrosto with a side salad, everything was exceptional, even the salad had a perfect balance of balsamic, olive oil and salt, we polished the plates clean. For the dolci, we got a millefoglie which was the perfect level was sweetness and had great texture, they perfected these simple dishes. The waiters were also very attentive and thorough in explaining the menu, they created such a nice enviornment for families to dine in, it was a pleasure to visit.

Anyone complaining about the service just wants to be waited on hand and foot. The food was tasty — reminded me of the kind of food I read about in Marcella Hazan’s cookbooks. Simple, unfussy, and more about how you prepare the ingredients. Line gets long. We got in line about 15 mins before they opened and were seated immediately, but it looked to be a 30 to 60 minute wait when we left.

My favorite restaurant in Florence. Menu changes every day and even during the meal. Affordable and delicious, full of Italians and people just grabbing lunch or dinner on their own (or with their dog). You get seated at shared tables usually, which I loved.
