Easily the BEST dinner experience in Firenze! I wanted low key and authentic and found it in the heart of Florence! High quality meal finished off with the perfect Tiramisù! You’re welcome! Ciao

This is an awesome little place. The ingredients are fresh, the plates are delicious, and the staff is super friendly! We went back to this place multiple times during our stay in Florence. Highly recommend the lasagna and the truffle pasta, definitely worth trying.

Insane - would give 100 stars if I could. The absolute best Florentine steak. What’s most impressive is that this venue doesn’t only do great steak, every other food item is equally impressive and of such high quality. We ordered antipasti expecting a regular board of meats and cheese but were blown away by the diversity and flavours. Polenta, truffle, tomato bites, honey, and the most delectable salami, prosciutto. Service was genuine, warm, and unpretentious. The venue itself was comfortable and clean. Would 100% recommend to anyone living in or visiting Florence

TL;DR: After being told the lasagna is amazing, it turns out it’s just alright and the coperto/sitting fee is €4 each head, which is definitely on the higher side. I heard from my partner that the carbonara was pretty good. I can’t speak on the steak, so by all means, head over to a different review if that’s what yer planning to have. I had the Lasagna Alla Bolognese, which was fine. Broiled cheese on top of lasagna strips of pasta with meat sauce. Not too shabby, especially when you’re hungry. The bread they gave us was pretty good. Service wasn’t as stellar and warm as some other reviewers say. I got the same experience of being acknowledged after 10 minutes, getting a drink, waiting another 10-15 minutes for a waiter to come by to take our order, and then eventually get the food like anywhere else in Italy. Service certainly wasn’t worth the €4 EACH coperto fee they charged, so beware. Their card reader is also unreliable so we had to shell out cash at the time. Smaller restaurant so prepare to wait during rush hour. I went on a Saturday around 7:30 pm and luckily my two-person party was able to be seated within a couple of minutes.

Very central position, near the Duomo. I came here with two friends, we received a welcome aperitivo with prosecco then we directly asked suggestion on what to eat to the team. We were recommended a typical florentine starter with mixed meats, cheeses and creams then Fiorentina as main dish and three side dishes. Everything was excellent with no exception. I fell in love with porcini mushrooms and the pecorino cheese with honey. As wine lover, I highly appreciated a chianti riserva 2016 for less than 50 euros which is very honest. The dishes themselves, in hand decorated ceramic, are very pretty and completed the florentine immersion experience. I would definitely come back on my next trip.

Amazing dinner at this place. The prosciutto, pistachio and nitrate pizza was unforgettable. Seriously delicious and one of the best meals in Italy. They also have an appetizer with a bunch of truffle added- think cheese, salami and bread. YUM! Service was excellent. Wine was tasty. Highly highly highly recommend this place.

This is more of a high-end place, and we really liked it. To start off with, they served us beer in these comically large glasses. It was almost like a pitcher per person. The food was great. I had the pasta, and it was excellent. My friends got the Florentine steak, and they all liked that too. The desserts were all solid too, and our waiter was a nice guy.

The service was amazing, very friendly people and with great English. They also explained to me the best way to eat the pasta which I super appreciated. The pasta was absolutely AMAZING, just by smelling it I felt I was in the ocean. Super tasty and rich sea food flavor in the pasta and in the sauce. The pasta absorbed the taste really well. The Lasagna alla Bolognese was also amazing. It's a perfect amount, and it has a super rich cheese and tomatoes crust at the border that has so much flavor and texture that I fell in love with it. Loved the experience and heavily recommend the place.

As someone who doesn’t typically like carbonara, this is one of the best pastas I’ve ever eaten. The carbonara alone is worth the visit! The lasagna is also very good. The complementary bread is interesting and delicious. We walked in without a reservation, but the restaurant got pretty busy and it’s recommended to make reservations ahead of time.

If you’re wondering if you should eat at this fine establishment, I’ll have to tell you, you should and you won’t regret it!! Great menu with a good variety of interesting Italian dishes along with the traditional ones. I loved the chocolate cake dessert, the fudge on the inside was sooo tasty. The lasagna had lots of flavor (garlic, Italian seasonings, hearty tomato sauce, etc.) and I’m a big fan. The complimentary bread was the best I’ve had in Italy! Also, the service is impeccable. My waiter helped me pick out the perfect wine for my dinner and it was reasonably priced. All in all, great dinner spot!

I was trying to avoid a tourist trap and got exactly that. Steak itself was great (filet mignon) but honey thyme sauce was just honey drizzle and dry thyme on top - not a sauce. This steak can shine with a tiny bit more effort on sauce and sides (asparagus didn’t have any seasoning). Wine was average. Blaring music in English killed any authenticity attempt. Focaccia was warm but old. Service was great though - so close to be much better. Hope they can improve so locals enjoy coming here too.

Found this restaurant based on google review and it exceeded expectation! It’s right next to the Duomo/Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore with a cosy vibe. They offer pasta, pizza and steak similar to other Firenze restaurants. Ordered 3 dishes: Tortelloni al Tartufo e Salsiccia (large ravioli with pork sausage and black truffle sauce), signature pizza Patate e Baccala (Potato, rosemary, creamy sea salt curred cod, olives and capers) and sides grilled asparagus. They are extremely tasty and are not particularly salty (I find some italian restaurants use extra salt). Also for dolci the freshly made tiramisu is plainly bravo. Their appetizer bread is also exceptional as it comes warm, crispy outside and soft and airy inside, and it’s lightly seasoned with salt and herbs. Dipping in a bit of Florentine olive oil is just perfect. You don’t see such bread in other restaurants.

I came here with my family and we absolutely LOVED this place. It was my favorite meal in Italy and I honestly still dream about it :') First of all, the food was so delicious. We had the mussels and clams dish as an appetizer; even the soup they were soaked in was so flavorful. All of the pasta dishes we had were also so good, but the truffle pasta stood out the most! The truffle pizza was also amazing! I never really understood the hype of truffle dishes but it just tasted so much better here! The bistecca was definitely the star. We had it cooked rare as recommended by our server. I was worried at first since none of us had ever tried rare meat before but it was so tender, we devoured all of it! The service was excellent! The servers were all friendly, kind, and helpful if we had any questions. I also enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's a small restaurant bustling with diners but it wasn't noisy and it had a calming presence. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. It was one of the best meals I've ever had and the staff and atmosphere are so wonderful! I can't wait to go back <3

The food was amazing, top steaks I've ate. The waited was really nice, answered all of our questions and gave us recommendations. The place is nice and it was not busy at all at 4pm when we went. I had one of the best sweet wines there are well. It's more on the expensive side, but I'm glad I got to taste Bistecca al Fiorentina here.

Wine and pizza were good, steak was unique. We had filet Mignon. Had a fair share of good steak and agreed that Florence steak has its uniqueness (a mix of beef, tuna and chicken) in terms of taste and mouth feel. However, it came as a surprise when we were charged for grilled vegetables which we didn’t order and thought it came with the steak (grilled vegetable was also not in menu). As seen in photo, the steak came alone with a rosemary as side deco something one would easily thought comes with vegetables. Overall ambience was good. Service was good too. Just could have been better if it was explained to us a paid grilled vegetables is mandatory and an order of salad would not be necessary as the portion is big.

Highly recommend and totally deserving the high ratings. At first you might think it’s the usual tourist trap as it’s bang in the centre easily accessible to the hungry hordes of foreigners but one of the best initial signs is that most waiters and staff are italians. The second good sign was that the focaccia bread that is served on the table even before you start ordering was fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. Kitchen was efficient and in 10/15 minutes served me my starter. I had pici with ragù di anatra which were amazing and an alternative to the usual beef or wild boar ragù. As a main i had the tagliata di chianina. Simply amazing! Had it rare and it was like cutting through butter! I really don’t know why they even bother giving out steak knives! Unfortunately they forgot my side dish and by the time it came out i had already devoured my steak…that’s the only flaw of an otherwise amazing experience. Just go!

Very good authentic option, surprising as it’s located near the duomo. This is the only restaurant I tried near there that’s amazing. The complementary bread was aromatic and reminiscent of pizza. We had the ravioli with black truffle and pork sausage. It was rich! The filet mignon, cooked medium-rare, with thyme and honey, was a recommendation from the service staff and it balanced out the ravioli well. We also got the side of baked potatoes with rosemary and evoo, and we ate it up. Happy to recommend this place!

We happened upon Lo Scudo on our visit to Florence and it was considered good luck!! The olive oil was the best I’ve ever had. The spaghetti was so fresh and amazing (we got it without spicy sauce). Our pizza was delicious. The waiter was so nice, brought everything out quickly. This place is a perfect lunch spot.

This restaurant was renowned Florence steakhouse, you can indulge in a succulent T-bone steak, a true Florentine specialty. Sourced from prime local Tuscan beef, this magnificent cut is known for its exceptional flavor and tenderness. The T-bone steak is expertly grilled to perfection, showcasing a beautifully charred exterior that seals in the meat's natural juices while preserving a perfect medium-rare to medium doneness. Duck pasta is also fantastic.

I highly recommend this Tuscan restaurant if you are looking for authentic Tuscan Italian food rather than touristy stuff. I called multiple places to find white truffle and decided to come here for their fresh white truffle. The owner was really friendly and accommodating. He not only had the table ready a few minutes after our call and also prepared the truffle for me and took the time to show me the difference between white truffle and black truffle before I put an order in. He was also extremely helpful with pasta recommendations that are best suited for white truffle. Everything was rich and abundant in flavour. We love this place and will definitely come back for it.

One of my favorite restaurants of all time!! The owners Federico and Chris are amazing, they make everyone feel like family. Food is incredible!! My personal favorites are the pasta with olive oil and garlic, duck pasta, and honey filet mignon. Truffle pasta is also amazing, you truly cannot go wrong with anything on their menu!

The steak was perfectly seasoned with a generous sprinkling of coarse salt & extra virgin olive oil. The crust was crispy & charred while the interior was tender & juicy. We thought that 1kg of meat would be too much for 2 people, but because the meat isn’t overwhelmingly marbled, the food wasn’t so fatty that you’d feel satiated after a couple of bites. We ordered the Florentine steak and a bottle of wine and the total was €98. The waiter was very knowledgeable and service was prompt.

The service we had was great. The place was pretty quiet when we were there, but the food was good - the tuffle ravioli can be a little rich though.

I tried to go somewhere else but it was Saturday night and no reservation. I “settled for” Lo Scudo. Wow, did that ever work out well for me! Great food! Great waiters. I will definitely come here the next time I am in Florence!

Great discovery. Close to the plaza but far from a tourist trap. Lasagna was delicious, and the best coperta we had anywhere

Lasagna was very good. Cheesy but not too much. Server speaks very good English. You won't have issue ordering. Restaurant has a rustic vibe inside with bench or individual seating. Definitely would eat there again

The perfect place to stop for a meal in Florence. The staff are exceptional and so friendly. Our server spoke perfect English and was so accommodating to my family. He made my daughters feel so welcome and went out of his way to make their experience special. The food was divine, with a wide variety of options to choose from. We had the Eggplant Parmigiano and the Sea Bass and they were both exquisite. Coming here is a must, and the food and service are only beaten by the wonderful views of the Cathedral you get when dining on the front patio. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming experience in the heart of Florence. I will return here every time I visit the city.

We came in the summer with a group of 38 people and Federico and his colleagues made it an amazing night! Their hospitality was amazing and the food was delicious and local(for example pasta with white boar). Also they made sure everything was taken into account (for the few vegetarians, but also one of our people was vegan an she also had a delicious meal). Would definitely recommend!
