Very welcoming place with delicious food. You should try truffle plates and lobster but a must is their interpretation of tiramisu with cantucci and vino santo ! They have a quite good selection of wine as well. A place to keep in your list for Florence.

This is my favorite restaurant in Florence! The food and wine is amazing. La Bussola hosts the best pizza you’ll ever have. (Pizza No. 2) So delicious!! The service is great and they provide everything you need for a fanstastic experience. There is a pleasant, relaxing ambience in the restaurant. AMAZING!!!

Our order was messed up. Entree came. appetizer never showed up. Either way, pizza and risotto were good. Flavorful and tasty. Tiramisu was light and fluffy.

The pasta was really good! However, the desserts tasted like the instant pudding mix you can buy at a store. We had one chocolate 'budino' and a vanilla dessert. Come for the pasta and wine, skip the dessert.

TLDR: waiter was rude, food took a long time to come and tried to put the blame on us. When we asked the waiter when our main entree would arrive he said we were supposed to let him know we were done with our appetizer and that in Italy they do courses (as if he was assuming my mom and I came from a country that doesn’t do courses and don’t know how the process works…we’re from the US). However, we had finished our appetizer well over 20 mins and he never came in to check on us for us to even be able to say we’re done with the appetizer. We ended up talking to another server towards the end and she was lovely.

Every dish is very delicious and I feel like we would have come back again if we stay longer in Florence! The best florentine steak I've had, very juicy and tender. You must also try their tiramisu as I think it is the best one we've had in Italy. Very heavenly :)) I'd 100% recommend this restaurant.

Staff speaks English. I feel like its the norm with all the tourists. We weren't supposed to eat here but it was next to the "popular place" my wife wanted to go to. Im happy we went here instead since the wait was a couple hours for the other joint. We were seated immediately and in a separate room since our baby was sleeping. I ordered a pizza with Tuscan sheep cheese, truffle, and cherry tomato. It was spectacular. It might have been my favorite pizza after living in Italy for three years. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable sitting near their bar and pizza oven. I would go to Florence specifically to eat here again.

We visited Firenze a few months ago and stopped by this place for dinner. Hands down, they have the most delicious pizza's in the whole world! Their pizza dough is so amazing that we just had to go back a second time. The staff at the restaurant is also super friendly and the food is just excellent!

Best Lasagne I've ever had. Unfortunately the Florentine Steak was a bit overcooked. The service was slow but friendly.

Restaurant in the heart of Florence. With amazing staff and amazing food. I'm in love with this place. This was the best lasagna I have ever had.

The place was so busy, I was lucky to get a table. Such friendly staff and buzz about them. They served as quick as they could despite the busy time of day. I was sat by the window which was great for people watching but they had other inside and outside options. I ordered the Spaghetti with seafood and finished the whole thing in a personal record time, it was divine!!! Paired with a Pinot, everything was so delicious!

Had the sea bream, was nice seeing it filleted in front of me but wasn't seasoned at all and had to navigate around lots of fish bones. Wild boar ragu was basically beef bolognaise, okay but nothing special. Risotto, the rice was hard and undercooked and the rockets 🚀 were slightly bitter. The tiramisu tasting platter was exceptional and it was so nice being able to try the different types.

Delicious pizza, highly recommended following the Calamari. Extensive wine list and menu items. Waiter was friendly and accommodating.

My girlfriend almost cried with joy after eating a pizza here. Sure, that might have been partly because of the long exhausting day in the 38 degree Florentine heat, but the food warrented tears of joy as well. One of the best pizza's I ever had for a good price, especially in the heart of Florence. The restaurant almost seemed a bit too fancy for two sweaty tourists but the staff was really friendly and welcoming. Zero complaints, enjoy your meal here.

I reserved a cozy table for two just after Christmas, seeking a spot that's upscale yet inviting, where dressing up isn't a necessity. We were craving a romantic evening with great ambiance, sipping wine and sharing a pizza. This place truly lived up to our expectations. The food? Simply delicious. The staff? Exceptionally courteous, charming, and ready to assist. My only wish? A bit more space between tables for added privacy. But the music and interior were absolutely perfect, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Plus, considering it's in the heart of Florence, the prices were quite reasonable!

We made reservations for January 1, 2024 at 6;30pm. Flori was our lovely waitress. I asked her for us to sit by the window since it’s my husband birthday but she kindly explained the table is for 5 people. We ordered calamari and mussels for appetizers. I had a glass of house red wine. Our main dishes were Florentine steak medium (it was cooked to perfection & well seasoned), spaghetti Scoglio, Spaghetti Carbonara, Linguine Vongole, and mix tiramisu for dessert. To our surprise, Flori and the Bussola staff sang Happy Birthday song with a small fireworks like candle for my husband. She also top it off with shots of limoncello with us! The food was delicious but her service and attentiveness made our last night in Firenze special. Thanks Flori! We will be back in a couple years and will be looking for you.

Fabulous food! I had carpaccio with tartufo nero and pecorino cheese, something you don't see every day. They also treat you like family which is amazing given the popularity of the place. Eat here and you will remember it and always return whenever you come back to Firenze!

A friend recommended this place so I reserved dinner a few days ahead and I’m so happy we did. We were so exhausted from walking all day and figuring out the city amongst the crowds plus we saved up our appetite for it by having a smaller lunch. The space is beautiful, has low lighting, and the servers were attentive and some very funny. One in particular kept stopping by to joke with us which was fun and appreciated. We ordered drinks and picked out pizzas and the wait wasn’t long at all. (We ate early for Italy standards at 6:30pm). My pizza was the magherita speciale and my friend ordered one with truffles and they were both great. It reminded me of a brick oven style we have at home but better and we took home the leftovers for a late night snack. I would highly recommend it for the pizza and the great staff.

we went to bussola for a birthday dinner, so the expectations were high, perhaps a bit too high. we had oysters, grilled sea beam, and octopus, no pasta or pizza. the food was good, with nice rounded aftertaste, but nothing extraordinary. the wine was great, but it’s fairly easy to accomplish in Italy :) the service is neutral but fairly enjoyable to my taste. overall, it was a nice evening, but I expected much more, given that the price is higher than average here. no catastrophes but also no pleasant surprises.

A hidden gem with the best food in Florence hands down! We had the Chianti pasta, Veal Milanese, Lasagna, steaks all done to perfection. Try it you will be coming back like we are!

We have just left this restaurant and I want to share my experience with one of their lady waiters. This restaurant has a lady waiter who lacks the basic of customer services. Not only that but we were treated very badly. She was arguing with us when our food was delayed for unacceptable time. Here arguments (she did her part for taking the order and it is not her responsibility for making the food ready. responsibility. She added that she is not cooking the food !!!!! This is an example of BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES. She could apologise on be half of the restaurant and to check the matter with their kitchen. Even the table beside us experienced bad services from her. I can easily suggest other couple of restaurants in Florence who can set an example of Customer Service Excellence with authentic Italian food. If the management of this restaurant cares, they can check the attached bill to identify this waiter.

We booked a reservation for our last night in Florence. They have multiple inside dining areas, outside dining, and a bar area where you can drink or eat. Very clean and inviting. The host was very helpful. Our reservation was supposed to be 830 but was booked for 930. He was very accommodating and was able to squeeze us in at 9. He suggested we wait in the bar area while waiting for our table. The entire staff as we waited were very friendly and all spoke English and Italian. Our waitress was not that great. I don't think she spoke English very well which caused her to barely check on us. We saw her 3 times for a total of maybe 1 minute. Very different experience than other restaurants in Florence with the waiters and waitresses. They had many more food choices than any of the restaurants I visited in Florence. Lots of delicious pizza choices as well. We ordered the Salamino piccante pizza which was spicy salami and mozzarella. Very delicious and a little spicy, just spicy enough to enjoy the flavor. We also ordered the Florentine t bone steak for 2. Cooked medium rare and was very juicy. The pics look more rare than it actually was. The potatoes were a delightful surprise. A size-able portion and very crispy. If I'm ever in Florence again, I would definitely come back to Bussola.

Loved it!!! I was craving citric flavors, and saw some marvelous oysters, OMG, earthy fresh flavors 👏👏👏 then bolognese and pasta, perfectly seasoned 🤤🤤 and then some grilled sea food, also to die for!!! Closed with some dolci, crème brûlé. Fair prices. Food takes time, so don’t rush. If I ever come back to Florence, this place will be on my list.

We got so lucky to have this delicious restaurant just a few steps from our hotel in Florence!! We visited twice in our 3 days there and undoubtedly would have gone back more if we were there longer. Their pizza is delicious, and my husband had a Florentine steak (for 1) that he said was tasty. The presentation isn’t the same as some of the fancier restaurants, but the price is also much more affordable. Their dessert is also divine: highly recommended the tiramisu, crème brûlée, and gelato with strawberries 🍓 their peach Bellinis are also delicious. We had amazing service as well! I can’t remember our waitresses’ name, but she was a shorter brunette woman with a ponytail who was THE kindest. One of the highlights of our Florence trip which is saying a lot!

I can not tell you how much I love this place. The food is excellent! The service and staff, excellent! Atmosphere for authentic meal here in Florence, excellent! Choice of wines, excellent! But it is much more than that. We were able to spend quality time with the owner/manager? Michael in between shifts as we had a bit of a travel hiccup with our flat. He took us in as his family to help - after we finished our lunch, just concerned that it was solved he (and two locals from the leather store across the street) got it solved for us!! We have been back twice to try more entrées and another wine suggestion and have been impressed every time. We will be back again tonight to say goodbye, but what an amazing group of people working here to give you the best experience. Did I mention the food is outstanding?!? Update: We went back, amazing meal, wine and conversation. Thank you for such a great experience every time.

Forgot to take a picture of the pizza but it is outstanding and in the Neapolitan style. Excellent service and broad menu and really good wine list as well. One of our favorite spots to dine Al fresco in Florence.

Nice, atmospheric restaurant in the heart of old town of Florence. The menu is a bit pricey, but the options are very interesting (like pizza with pear, honey, walnuts and pecorino). Good selection of wine (I especially loved the prosecco). Friendly, bilingual staff. You can book a table online, which is extra convinient.

Loved our lunch at La Bussola. Fine food, tasty cocktails. And they took us in nevertheless it was almost 3PM (when everyone closes).

Although I only heard tourists around me (incl. myself), it certainly didn't feel like a tourist trap. The pizza was amazing!! Good service, just a very nice place, 5 stars for me
