Don’t skip it just because there’s no outdoor seating. The inside has a cool vibe and is super clean (including the bathroom). The staff is outstandingly welcoming and professional. The stracchino/sausage antipasto is a 10/10 and the fresh pasta dishes are out-of-this-world tasty. They have some great wines on the list too. Not to miss if you’re in Oltrarno!

The food was good, especially the meat (ossobucco was SO DELICIOUS). Everything else lacked. The service was horrendous. The waiter brought out our second dishes before we had finished our pasta. Very awkward moment. The table was also dirty when we arrived. It was covered in mysterious brown crumbs. The bathroom was filthy. It also reeked of piss and was wet all over. I think someone went in there and actually peed all over the walls and floor. The waiter stank of cigarettes, and while I know it's common to smoke in Italy, being able to smell your waiter is never pleasant.

This was our first dinner in Firenze and we picked it specifically to try the famous Florentine steak. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful in our menu selections. We ordered per his recommendations the two pastas (pasta with cinghilae and pasta with porcini mushrooms) the steak, roasted potatoes, simple salad with lettuce and arugula (he was insistent didn't need tomatoes). He also selected the red wine for me, chianti and it fantastic! Everything was excellent except for the bread. But I've noticed that the "complimentary" breads in many restaurants, even good ones, are kind of tasteless in Italy. Complimentary is in quotes because depending on the restaurants, they either charge you for the bread (whether you asked for it or not) or charge you coperto (like a seating or cover charge). Side note about the steak, it's ordered by weight and the waiter recommended 1.5 kg for 4 of us. We don't eat steaks much so it was a little too much, may be even 1 kg would have been fine for us to get a taste. It is cooked pretty rare so if you like your meat medium to medium well done, this steak isn't for you. Fortunately my husband was ok eating the red meat. The rest of us ate the more cooked pieces around the edge.

Great food, good price, and very engaging staff. Very much a fan of this place. The staff made sure to be very familiar with us, offering their drink and meal choices so that we would enjoy the most out of the food. Had the pasta with wild boar. Best meal of my Italy trip.

A small restaurant, nice decorations inside, with a familiar atmosphere. The food wasn’t great, but was good quality, just missing a touch of inspiration to make it great. Service was good. We paid for 2 main course with side dishes, a bottle of red wine (house wine) and a bottle of water, around 80€.

Great food, great host, and a good spot away from the tourist areas. We tried the pasta with wildboar sauce (actual shreded boar neat sauce), and the pasta ragu - cant remember the names unfortunately. Both pastas were rich, flavorful, and a good bite to them... true Italian pasta.

I found out on Internet and i decided to try it! I didn't regret it at all. The food is amazing... the brst taste of Florence. The service was impeccable and the prices are good. But the most important persons are the managers... are so lovely and attentive...

We just had one of the best dinners of our lives. I’m sure there are lots of great restaurants in Firenze but I’m so happy we found this one. The food was just amazing. Don’t regret asking for anything (and we hella asked for lots of dishes) and even had to repeat dessert! Not only the place is nice and cozy but the staff is so friendly and efficient. Gianluca is so extra and charming that you couldn’t feel more comfortable while tasting amazing flavors, lowkey. If I could come back a thousand times I sure would!!!

This is probably my favorite restaurant of all of Italy. The owner sat with us and chatted recommended food and generally made the entire experience pleasant! He knew all about the parings of different foods and made excellent recommendations! Me and 6 of my closest friends were incredibly impressed!

The service was fine, but the food was not so good, the pasta was not al dente and had a lot of cream. The salad was not seasoned at all. And the prices are not so cheap. The bill also included 2 euro per person addition for service and the oil and and balsamic that was on the table (was not mentioned by the waitress).

Giovanni's felt like having a home cooked Tuscan meal with family. Gianluca was one of the best servers I've had in ages. He was funny, sarcastic, caring, and educated us about the menu, how to pair the correct wine with the food we ordered, and taught us about Florentine cuisine. I don't usually post photos of people in my reviews, but Gianluca was a gem, and I would return to this restaurant just to say hi to him, even if the food wasn't good... But alas, the food was wonderfully heartwarming. I highly recommend the Ribollita (a hearty 16th century Tuscan "soup" eaten with a fork, not a spoon)

Had the Florentine steak here... was flavourful, cooked beautifully, although it didn't seem to be the best prime cut of t-bone. Our tiramisu, however, was outstanding. Service was well meant, albeit overlapped and felt amateurish. House wine was decent. Overall, a decent value for money Trattoria.

Ordered truffle pasta, wild pasta with meat sauce? And the higher priced Florence steak. Pastas are decent, but a little salty. The nightmare is the steak. Not a nice steak as advertised - super hard to cut and chew. The flavor is not good as well. We gave up on it and only ate half even if it's a 100euro steak.

My friend and I are on a trip across Europe and so far, of the four countries we have been in and the many many restaurants we have tried, this is by far one of the best! The food was delicious, but the SERVICE was PHENOMENAL! I’m pretty honest in my reviews, and I can’t honestly say Gianluca was the best host I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. It was like talking to a friend! (Who also happens to know several languages) Super safe space for tourist! Highly recommend to anyone traveling the area! 😁😁— (p.s sorry about the tiramisu picture I only remembered to take the photo after we ate half of it😂)

It is really a gem that you do not want to miss. We travelled through France and Italy, and this is the best restaurant that we visited. From the food which was heavenly to the service that made you feel like you are visiting friends, to the affordable prices, everything was perfect. If the world were run the same way these folks run this restaurant, it would be a heaven on earth.

One of the best pastas we’ve had so far! We ordered the truffle cream linguini which was creamy, savory, and so fragrant, it was like eating a delicious hot plate of heaven. The owner was super friendly and charismatic, I would definitely come back the next time

I love tagliata (di manzo) and this was a pleasant surprise. Their Tagliata was mouth watering with every bite! The Ossobuco was a treat (it's a very tender piece of slow cooked meat over hours with a large bone 🍖 in the middle and delicate, tasty bone marrow in the middle. It's cooked in a well balanced red sauce). My family really enjoyed the pasta with funghi porchini and the Gnocchi with gorgonzola. Service is veryyyyy fast but never rushed. Keep it up.

Ossobucco was disappointing. The meat was undercooked and the sauce was flat, missing flavor. The sausages (toscan flavored and home-made) were really good. Then the side dishes: we had white beans (again, nothing to remember) and sautéed savoy cabbage (that we liked a lot). We went with the house wine (a toscan dry one) and it was ok. Value for money not too great, but still ok.

The restaurant is like a painting. We were here early , the only guest, 4:30PM for dinner. The espresso is great. Tiramisu is delicious. It’s a perfect experience here.

Delicious traditional Tuscan food, the green pepper steak was one of the best we’ve had and the ravioli was simply mouth watering. We also had the traditional Tuscan soup which was delicious. Every dish was outstanding. Many thanks to Darko for his wonderful service and hospitality, thank you for making our night special.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Great food with great wine pairings. Fresh dishes, other than the normal touristy food otherwise available in big parts of Florence. Service was good and the atmosphere was great. Consider booking as it can get full. We did not book and were lucky there was space. Will be back if I’m ever in Florence again.

The food was amazing (we had the wild Boar Ragout and the Bistecca Fiorentina). The wine recommendations were 10/10 and went perfectly with everything we had. Thus most importantly the Owner/ host/ waiter was very friendly, good to talk to and very honest. Seriously can’t go wrong with the place! Highly recommended!

Favorite meal of entire vacation. The food, the atmosphere, the conversation. When in Florence, make time to go where the locals go. Simply the BEST. John Luca even gives hugs.

Absolutely amazing. Loved the food and we were well served. The tuscan sausage was amazing and the pasta as well. They are open all day and were a life saver! Totally recommend it.

Warm service, small restaurant, suggest reservations. Pasta with mushrooms good, we are really surprised of the Italian beef with lard, very bold approach. Rare cooking and then with a layer of hot Lard. Perfect match!

The best dinner we had in Florence between the staff being helpful with recommendations, and the flavors so impactful! Our waiter wouldn’t let us order our wine until he knew what we were ordering for our courses so he could advise us on our pairing. The stewed beef was so tender, the chicken was grilled to perfection, and the crostini Giovanni are addictive. Make sure you hit this spot!

The absolute best part of Florence!! Make your reservation now and take your time !! The most fun, interesting, educational place we have eaten at in all of Italy. The service is hotel 5 star quality and the food is even better ! Thank you for allowing me to experience a meal that we will never forget !!! The owners are brilliant ( literally) fun and truly love what they do and want you to share in that same passion !!! Thank you both . Munah and Paul

This gem of a restaurant is highly worth a visit. First of all, you must book, this place is popular and it’s for a reason. Enough praise cannot be given to the wonderful staff for making our experience simply unforgettable. They were friendly, attentive, hilarious and seemed to genuinely love what they do. With each dish more delicious than the last, all reasonably priced, I will be back here any time I return to florence. The truffle pasta was creamy and delicious, paired with wonderfully fresh prosecco. The tiramisu was clearly homemade and was so moist and full of flavour. The coffee was a real treat to end the meal on. We left feeling like one of the family and have never laughed so much over a meal.

Love this place! The best place that we ate at in Florence and I’m only sad that we discovered it on our last night. The food was amazing, the staff were incredibly nice and funny, and the wine was great! Pro tip, get the dessert!
