Love this restaurant! This is a wonderful Tuscan restaurant with great options both vegetarian and steaks! Food: The food was super duper nice! We tried quite a few options from the menu. My favourite was the mushroom ravioli! We went there for New Year’s dinner and they had a set menu with no vegetarian options but yet they made few dishes specially for me! Very accommodating and sweet team Ambience: Love the vibe! There are two entrances and the overall vibe is super nice. The central part of the restaurant is more quiet and perfect if you want a cosy date night.

Visited this place walking in at 8pm on Wednesday; the service was quick (though we can tell they are terribly understaff and the staff are quite stressed) We liked the mushroom ravioli and the Parmesan eggplant (side dish); the rest of the food is just ok.

I was in Florence for a video shoot and wanted to eat at a restaurant on a day off during my visit. The first red flag was, when one of the staff said to a waiter:”Get a table for this child.” Maybe I was clothed too informally or maybe because I am short person he was thinking that, but it is unacceptable saying that in front of your customer. The waiter brought me to my table and I really enjoyed the interior of the restaurant, it had nice paintings on the wall and the Florence flair I have been enjoying the past few days. My enjoyment was interrupted when the waiter brought me the menu, without saying anything, just slamming it on my table...ok then. I chose the Tortellini alla Medici along with a bottle of water, I gave the waiter my order and he returned shortly with the bread, you usually get at restaurants. The bread was terrible, extremely dry and hard, like it had been standing there for the whole day, I didn’t finish it. When the waiter brought me water, he opened the bottle, without letting me hear the cap opening and also just set it on my table without saying anything. To my surprise, when I received food, the waiter at least said:”Here you are.” I must say, while the service so far was questionable, the food was delicious, the plate made it look like a small portion, but it was a good amount of food. When it came to paying for everything, the waiter wanted me to come to the cash register, because I wanted to pay with my Amex. Excuse me, but the gentleman next to me, didn’t need to stand up and walk to the cash register. He still sat at the table while paying. In summary, the food was great, but I feel like I got treated like a second class person for some reason, I did not feel welcome at any point. If you are wearing maybe fancy clothes, are tall and maybe in general look like you have money, they will treat you better. I did not enjoy the service and can’t recommend going there.

Very tasty appetizers and pasta dishes. Steaks are very delicious and must try their aged steaks. They also have a pretty good selection of wines.

One of our favorite Italian meals. The truffle ravioli was beyond incredible, as was the soup. Lasagna was also very impressive. Bruchetta was a tasty appetizer.

The tasting menu unfortunately did not impress :( Steak arrived cold was the biggest let down. However staff was friendly and very warm! :) Maybe it was just a busy night in the kitchen

Recommended! Friendly service. Delicious juicy steak with potatoes on the side. We tried local wine was recommended by the staff. It's pretty good. But I don't really like the chestnut dessert. It has fridge taste somehow.

Amazing place to eat. And resonantly priced, we got a dinner recommendation, went there and decided it was too expensive. We walked around the corner and saw this place which looked nicer and was cheaper, and wow it continued to surprise us. Service was to a high standard. And the food was delicious. We got caprese salad and fillet steaks and they were much better than I expected, it was great, what a lucky find.

The food was great! We tried the grilled meat platter with a variety of their specialties, in addition to multiple pasta dishes. All were fantastic! The service was friendly and attentive. Dessert was good - they had a variety of choices from Italian cheesecake (not like US cheesecake) to tiramisu and chestnut pudding. They also had good wine selection. All-in-all, a great meal. Would definitely come back!

The Risotto and the Lasagna were extremely salty. Steak was excellent. Soup was more a mash but to be expected in Florence. Bread surprisingly had some salt.

Had a delicious bistecca a la fiorentina. I have eaten in some of the best places in the world for beef, Argentina, Peter Luger, etc. This was on that level and at 50e for a kilo not a bad price. The same steak in the US at a top steakhouse would easily have been over $100.

We were rejected in some the most popular restaurants so we were coming by and decided to go here because of fine reviews. It was a great choice! It was the best food we’ve eaten in Italy. Wonderful lasagna, carbonara and tomato pasta. Aperol spritz was great too. Prices weren’t very high and the staff was VERY friendly. Recommend!

Individual ratings for hotel not restaurant so blank. We had the Zucchini Lasagna, Beef Stew and Spaghetti Al Amatriciana. All excellent. Very nice folks let us wait inside until opening at 7pm not the 6:30 listed. Service and presentation were good.

This restaurant was suggested by fellow tourists we met on our day tour. We did not have reservations but were seated after a 15-minute wait. The place was busy, and our server was nice. We went for the beef. It is ordered by kg, and cut and cooked to order. It was served with potatoes that were also good. We got 1500 for our table of 3, which was plentiful. Highly recommend making reservations and giving this place a try.

Enjoyed the meal, pork chop was great and their mixed grill was nice. Enjoyed the ambience and wine as well. Lady serving us was delivering great service we tipped her. Would recommend this place

Wonderful Tuscan restaurant with warm hosts and wonderful ambience. They have a limited rotating menu with florentine steak being a constant and worth ordering. We went there twice and both times they were kind to accommodate no meat options for one of us which didn’t compensate on taste or texture unlike few other vegetarian forward restaurants in Florence. Highly recommended and we will visit it again if we’re in town again.

Great food and vibe, waitress was polite and explained the dishes. Every dish was spectacular. The crostini with the signature pork lard melted in my mouth. My grilled pork was cooked just right and seasoned so well. The carbonara with tasty bacon, unforgettable. Price was reasonable. When they said Florence food was tasty, they were describing this place.

It was really positive experience as we dined well. However we were seated next to the door and was cold, they have two door but the entrance basically is only one and they could have avoid it putting a notice, or locking thr door showing the other entrance, 🥶. The service is excellent 👌 and food also is very good.

Such a cosy restaurant with great tasty dishes! The meat was succulent, however, poorly seasoned for our taste. The place is always fully booked, it’s recommended to reserve your table before you go.

we came here after a recommendation from a book. everything was great minus them being out of a few things we initially wanted. what was not good was at one point our very english proficient waiter brought our main courses. my boyfriend got the mixed grill (doesn’t specify meats). he places a large steak on one plate on our table and then a secondary plate of meats/potatoes. I immediately point to the beef and go oh no, my bf got the mixed grill. the waiter goes yea this is the mixed grill as he finishes placing everything. therefore we were in awe at getting that much on the mixed grill and ate and enjoyed it. but when the bill came we were charged an extra $29 for a steak. again, if we had somehow changed orders a lot or there was a significant language barrier i’d understand but we had an easy clear order and our waiter was very proficient in english and understanding us I asked him what was going on with the charge and suddenly he hardly spoke english anymore. I also said - didn’t I ask when you placed that down why you gave us it and you said it was part of the mixed grill. he finally said oh ok i’ll take off 9 euros sorry. definitely wasn’t an honest mistake and for that reason would not recommend at all unless you like being taken advantage of

I had a great meal with lovely service at Ristorante La Spada. I can recommend the pasta with wild boar ragu, and the rabbit. Their house wine is decent as well. Great location too, quite near the central area but just off the beaten track enough to not be overly touristy.

Food was not bad - risotto a bit too dry and steak served slightly cold. Service was very slow, which caused the delay in serving dishes I reckon. Pity as this restaurant was come by as a recommendation.

I think I might have been a little unlucky with my choice of food, but I can’t give more than 3 stars based on my latest experience. I was really looking forward to this restaurant after reading all the great reviews. In the end, I ordered the tris of the chef, with 3 pasta tastings, of which one, the ravioli con tartufo e porcini, was very good (I wish I had taken a whole dish of it) and the other two were honest but really nothing to write home about. The mix di arrosto had some tasty bits, but mostly it was hard to chew and not juicy. However, the main lowlight for me was how loud the ambient was, it made it hard to hold a conversation, which for me personally is a big minus. However, the staff was nice and efficient. Overall, you might have a better experience than me with a different food choice and a table further away from the noise of the kitchen.

My family & I stumbled upon this amazing restaurant one night in Florence. It was our favorite meal the entire trip in Italy! The pasta, meat, dessert, wine… everything, absolutely delicious! We also loved the more chill atmosphere. Highly recommend.

After walking around Florence for a while, we decided to find some dinner. This place was a little confusing to get into and very loud and crowded. The food was delicious and the service was great. If you don't mind loud and rowdy crowds, make a stop here.

Our first night in Florence and La Spada was nearby our hotel Santa Maria Novella. We walked in and were able to get a table. The food was good and great price. I had the tripe (delicious!), my husband got the grilled pork chops and he loved it! Our sons got spaghetti carbonara and they like it as well. Tiramisu was excellent! We came 2 more times during our 6 days in Florence. Their roasted potatoes were the best we had anywhere. Their mixed grilled meats dish was delicious and only 16 euros! We will definitely come back here when we come back to Florence from California!

Very nice place to come for dinner ! The food is fantastic, fresh and flavorful. Allesandro was the best and we look forward to going back to try the highly recommended cheesecake.

Made reservations for dinner on a Sunday. Ordered chopped steak, lasagna, spinach and tiramisu. All were tasty!!!! And reasonably priced!
