This French restaurant was very good. We came to Paris to try the original versions of their best dishes and were not disappointed. The beef bourguignon was amazing and very filling. For dessert we went overboard and got both the millefeuille and the souffle which were both delicious. The service was great and the vibe was good. Very recommended!

I disagree with previous reviews that mentioned Asians are seated at the back of the restaurant because they had been “segregated” from whites. Being an Asian (tourist) myself, I’ve come here everytime I visit Paris and have always been seated up front near the window as I’ve specified it on my reservation. I think there may be some misunderstanding as most likely the regulars (or people who came to this restaurant before) may have made advance request to sit upfront. Anyway, the restaurant is consistent, truely Parisian and I totally recommend it. 😊

One of my favorite meals we had in Paris. It’s like walking back in time where everything seemed frozen in the 40’s. Great food and service. Friendly staff. The customers were mostly regulars that appeared the quality and tradition.

Almost canceled my reservation due to not re-confirming. How many confirmations do you need?? To start, we ate the artichoke salad which was very good. We wanted the white asparagus as well but boy was it expensive (I think ~25 euros for 4-5 asparaguses). Then the beef bourguignon was also very good. For me I believe I ordered the "Ris de Veau, pommes de terre grenaille" but I'm not 100% sure; I do believe I enjoyed my dish. The souffle is somewhat expensive, really nice, a little different from what I know (if you don't like meringue then you won't like it in my opinion). I enjoyed it!

Must try classic restaurant in Paris. Their food is really good and the serving size is generous. The langoustine is perfectly cooked - very tender and buttery. The cassoulet and beef bourguignon are very tasty and good to be shared. The mille-feuille dessert is really big and great for sharing. The service is also great as the servers are all attentive and fast.

Had a marvelous lunch at Josephine Chez Dumonet. The flavors of the cuisine were in perfect balance with a very nice presentation. They have a large wine selection. The service was very efficient. My wife and I both had steaks. I had the Tournedos Rossini which was perfectly cooked and paired with truffles, and my wife had the Chateubriand grille which was also perfectly cooked.

One of the best restaurants we dined at on our trip in Paris - it’s very old school Paris. - foie gras - beef bourguignon (the beef was like butter, best bourguignon I’ve ever had) - beef tartare (they make this table side, it’s a huge portion) - soufflé (like eating a cloud) Highly recommend!

Best service and best meal I've had during my entire stay in Paris. The beef bourguignon stands on its own as an established entity. The soufflé was delicious and had a nice and enjoyable kick. I've nothing to fault, but I want to note that I'll be back soon. Merci!

So this is mid-range expensive but worth every bit of what you pay for. Top notch staff and wonderful cooking staff. Everything was incredible. Please go if you’d like a taste of heaven!

The langoustines and boeuf bourguignon were fantastic. My husband ordered the steak which only comes rare or medium rare - unfortunately medium rare was too rare for our liking so as a fair warning if you don’t enjoy your steak that way, order something else. Good service. All in all a great restaurant for French cuisine.

This restaurant is an absolute MUST, especially if it is your first time in Paris. No worries about the language barrier, three of the waiters spoke English and helped translate. My boyfriend got the beef bourguignon, which was absolutely stellar. I got the Chateaubriand grillé, sauce bearnaise, which is a steak fillet with crispy potatoes and a side salad. It was amazing (especially dipping the potatoes into the beef bourguignon!). My only note is that you get your meat either rare or medium rare, and medium rare was definitely closer to rare than I normally like, but it was such good steak that I loved it regardless! For dessert we got the Gran Marnier souffle and the Millefeuille Jean-Louis, both of which were spectacular. The Millefeuille Jean-Louis is inds like a custard in between layers of really crispy, think wafer. It was great, definitely recommend. The souffle comes with a shot glass of Gran Marnier, and I wasn't sure the purpose of it until the woman at the next table(who also spoke English) told me to make an 'X' in the middle of the souffle and pour the shot inside. It was extremely strong in the middle, so it's best to mix it up a bit if you can! All in all, 5 stars. Would give it seven if I could! Definitely recommend!

Had been trying to make a reservation here for ages, but it always seemed booked on the Fork. Finally we walked by on a Tuesday night and they were able to squeeze us in sans reservation. We had the burrata tomato salad and the half portions of beef Bourgogne and they were excellent. The soufflés looked amazing, but we were already tapped out. A la prochaine…

Food is good, especially the! Beef was absolutely cooked very well!! Meat was tender, and fell apart so easily! The white bean/meat stew was also yummy, classic perfect French dish for the cold weather. The Mille-feuille was divine, best I ever had! Because of the crispness of each layer, coated with the perfect amount of sugar on it, filled with thick vanilla whipped cream in between it. The service is rather slow, including serving food and the bill.

A well worn bistro of the Polidor genre with standard fare like Boeuf Bourguignon and more upscale dishes like the roast pigeon in a crispy potato millefeuille. The staff is extremely polite and welcoming. For some reason that evening the place was full of Americans; nice sophisticated types who aren't the ones you read about in the media. The chocolate fondant and homemade vanilla ice cream served in foie gras "bocale" was fabulous. It may seem little expensive, but remember that tax and service are included, so all things considered, it's worth the experience.

Great, great, classic spot. We loved getting away from tourist center, we loved a smaller more intimate restaurant. We were absolutely dying in the august heat but the food made it all worth it. Portions are large and we are big eaters, but would recommend the langostines to start, the beef bourguignon and the soufflé. Incredible.

The beef bourguignon was the best I’ve ever had. The meat was tender and fell apart at the touch of a fork. We also ordered the foie gra starter, which was very smooth. At the end we got the soufflé. This was light, fluffy and subtly eggy.

Hard to get a reservation here but it’s worth it. The dessert soufflé au Grand Marnier was excellent. The Bourguignon beef was also great.

This is the best beef bourignon I’ve had, by far. The thick sauce is deep in flavor with hints of earthiness and sweetness. The beef is simmered to a magically soft texture that breaks apart without a knife. The sweet onions, mushrooms, and bacon are welcome additions in the sauce. The sauce goes well with anything, but here a tagliatelle cooked in cream is served. This dilutes the sauce slightly and adds creaminess. Perfect.

Excellent food and attentive service. The decor is dated but the food is classic French done extremely well. The prices are mid-range for a Parisian meal, and realistically you pay about the same for medicore results on many of the items on the menu at the tourist traps and corner cafes. Dinner for two with wine and the Grand Marnier souffle (which is terrifically executed btw) totaled about $120. A similar meal in any major American city would set you back about the same, and you won't have service included in the amount. This will be a stop for the next few Paris visits without a doubt!

An upscale Parisian bistro with a supremely professional staff. The menu is quite heavy on beef, veal, and fowl selections. If you're at all inclined toward seafood and vegetables, I'd choose another venue. Desserts are lovingly prepared.

This was one of the best food I had in paris. The steak was simply amazing. Presentation was excellent. Compliments to the chef. Only downside is the waiters. They stand and speak to bystanders walking on the street knowing you're waiting to speak to them. Waited about 5 minutes trying to get his attention to order. After he finished his conversation he instantly turned around knowing we were waiting for him. Its a bit rude as we were his customers. The waiter that served us was way too playful and spent most of his time entertaining people on the road.

Lovely restaurant for delicious French food. The staff was very attentive and kind, and they recommended us the best dishes. I found this restaurant through Google maps so I'm very satisfied with other people's contributions as well!

Best Classic French Food! Whatever u order is excellent! And the deserts are good! My favorite dish was le bourguignon! Btw, all dishes are big portions! Book ahead of time, it’s unlikely that you will find a table last minute!

High quality food and a memorable visit. Stuffed morel mushrooms were outstanding, in addition to the beef bourguignon, and of course the Grand Mariner soufflé. The restaurant completely encompassed the classic French dining experience that was so hard to find on my trip. Worth every 💶.

It was one great restaurant. Carrying a small bistro atmosphere and the staff was friendly with a sense of humor. We were lucky enough to try servral dishes here, Duck confit was definitely one of the best in Paris, Beef bourguignon with egg noodles was unstoppable, The pigeon with the layer potato pie. And the soufflé and Napoleon pie for dessert. Each dish was delicious, well balanced and only captured two before all went in the belly. Highly recommend

This place was a recommendation and I was hesitant whether it’s worth the walk (30 min from Notre Dame), but I actually ended up having my best meal in Paris! This place is so authentic, and cozy. The menu is in French but staff was super nice and everyone speaks English so it wasn’t an issue. I’m happy my first Escargot experience was here, I was so nervous to try but ended up liking it. Good selection of wines, all meals were delicious and ingredients were so fresh. Millefeuille was an exceptional dessert! Highly recommend this place.
