Very nice hotel. We stayed Sunday to Monday and price was much cheaper than going the weekend. We booked a double room and I believe they upgraded us, our room had 1 double bed and one single. The double bed super comfortable and big. Check in was so quick and recepcionist very kind. Bathroom pretty big and bath too. Just missed bathroom accessories, like shampoo, soap, etc. Perfect location to hang around the center.

Room very clean quite and comfortable but very dark lighting not good no view, Great sleep good food. Staff friendly and welcoming only 1 point we was not happy with was a Asian gentleman at bar kept on trying to clear his throat which was not nice to here when your having a quite drink and listen to someone clearing his throat

The location is perfect, right in the center of Galway and you can reach everywhere from there. The hotel itself is quite old with infinite hallways to reach the rooms, the cleaning of the rooms wasn't great (we also had to ask for the 3rd towel for 3 days straight), and the place itself need some serious renovation, also the view from the window was awful. :( The girls at the reception are very nice and kind and friendly! I wish I could say the same about who I assume was the manager of the diner, I sat at the bar drinking some water and reading and there was one worker in particular (not among the younger ones) that kept staring at me in a not very friendly way and made me feel uncomfortable. In general is an average hotel but they could apply some improvements to make it better!

Great location off Eyre Square. Rooms comfy and tidy. Didn't have food but was told breakfast was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Would return and rate was great. Parking in nearby hotel with concessions from hotel leaves parking cheap at 8euros

Perfect location in the centre of Galway, very close to the train station. The room was spacious, we had an actual bathtub, WiFi worked correctly and service was welcoming. Nothing bad to say about this place. It deserves a fourth star.

Such an amazing hotel! We came with our 15 week old for our first family holiday and the whole experience made our week so much that we booked an extra night stay! The lift was broken for our stay but that wasn’t a problem at all for the staff, they helped us up and down the stairs with our pram everyday, took our luggage up and down for us, some days we even came out of the room and the staff were already coming down the hall to help us! We wanted to see all of Galway so we didn’t actually dine in the hotel, but we’re hoping to return in a few months and will definitely try out the food then! I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone and anyone!

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice and both times had a pretty good stay. They have large comfortable beds and plenty of space in the rooms. I would not count on the view in some of the rooms. The first time I had a phenomenal view of Eyre Square and the second time my view was of a disgusting backyard to some neighboring houses. Luckily I didn’t come for the view. I had their breakfast buffet included in my hotel stay, I was initially not sure if the below items were extra, due to the design. After speaking to the staff I learned it was included in the price. Although not listed, they also make a good scrambled eggs with bacon. All in all a good spot for a quick weekend dip to Galway.

Theives and crooks. We booked our stay at the imperial for a stag do in Galway. The booking was made via a stag-do company with 19 of us due to stay the weekend. The hotel made contact 2 days prior to our arrival to inform us that they didn't know we were a stag-do (booked with a company called last night of freedom for 19 males) and would have to cancel our booking as they don't take stag-dos. The hotel made the very generous offer to rebook us for a total of €118 euros per person, per night. Absolutely appalling behaviour and policy. Luckily the Maldron on Sandy Lane was more that happy to accommodate us for the same cost as our original booking and we had a fantastic, trouble free stay there.

I stayed here for two nights, bed & breakfast. The rooms were very clean and spacious. I didn't like the disposable cups. There should definitely be mugs in the rooms Breakfast the next morning was lovely, but no cutlery or cups or any tables laid out for breakfast 🤔, i had the frech toast on the second day, but it was swimming in maple syrup, you should be given the option to have it on the side. The bar service/ breakfast service was very poor and not very welcoming, The location was very good, right in the centre of galway

Room was clean and spacious, bathroom was a little odd but manageable. Breakfast was not worth it at all, and staff were very rushed. Overall, you get a comfortable bed and that’s good enough.

We spent 2 days at the Imperial Hotel. We stayed in room 213 , it was small , no view and the floor was uneven , very clean though. The location was great but the carpark where you get the hotel discount is 10 mins walk. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was delicious. I recommend the french toast and the pancakes.

The location is perfect, it's in the centre of everything, pretty much everything is in walking distance as well. The train station is a 5min walk if that. There are buses and taxis right outside the hotel too, which can take you to Salthill. The rooms were clean and well kept, with everything you need in there. The view from my room was lovely. I'm definitely coming back to Galway, I loved it, and will definitely be staying here again.

Quite impressive We made a short term reservation frustrated and dissapointed by another hotel about an hour away. This one was not only much better located - the great staff at check in outweighed the previous experience. Quiet, spacious and very clean rooms, perfect location and "naturally friendly" staff - happy to be here!

Great location, Nice clean hotel, with good staff and plenty of meal options that run from breakfast to dinner. The only downside was the rooms faces towards the back and you can see houses and it's almost closed from all sides. Toilet had a mesh curtain which isn't great cause there is no privacy at night. I was right above the back exit and I could hear the glasses and empty bottles being stacked all night. Also, due to thin walls you could hear almost everything and the door banging all night left, right and centre. Not the best for light sleepers. I would recommend it anyway due to how central it is from all the main locations in Galway and only 4 mins from the train station.

Standard hotel room at a very convenient city center location. The wooden floor structure means walking sounds during the night. Not a big deal for me but some may not like it.

Although the hotel is described as simple, we found it very good for our needs. Clean and a big room, a little bit dark, but we use the room only to sleep and shower! It is expensive for 3***, but this might refer to the location and the main season.

It's 2am and we can't sleep because these beds are rock hard and made of odd material - like sleeping directly on box springs. A hotel is really only as good as its beds...

Fantastic meals! We dined at around 8.30pm so the place was very empty, but food was great! Its a little pricey though so best not to consider the conversion to AUD 🤣

Great compact hotel right in the centre of town. Walking distance to everything in the city centre. The room was well equipped with a walk-in shower and looked to have been recently renovated. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The room was perfect. Very comfortable. The breakfast was a horrible experience. The food was not freshly cook though we has a wait. The plate was hot to touch and the eggs were not only hard but dried. The mushrooms and potato's were not nice and it was obvious it was not fresh. The cleaner was hoovering a few tables away and whilst I went to complain my food got cold. The manager did not explain to us why cleaning had to be done until later which, if true, was fine by us. When I complained about breakfast I was not believed and told it was all fresh. This they stood by even though they did not look at my breakfast or check with chef. No responsibility taken so will not go there again even though it was always the preferred choice of my Galway native wife. Angry and disappointed by food but mostly treatment by management

We booked 4 rooms. From the very beginning to the end was a great experience. What value for money. Staff excellent, large rooms with large bathrooms very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. Fantastic location. You could'nt ask for more

Food is good but very slow service. Had to leave. Not possible to have lunch on 1/2 hr lunch break. You need 1 hour to be comfortable and not rushing as it take 20 minutes to be served. So that leaves you with 5 minutes to gobble down the food and 5 minutes to get back to work.

Last minute booking for a nice room in the heart of town - discount on parking, but the garage is a little far - there’s a closer one around the block if you’re okay with paying 8 euro more per day. Cheaper that advertised and great place for the night, even if a little noisy from our room windows looking over the backside of a pub. Didn’t bother us until the morning, but we were sleeping in til just before check out, so can’t really blame the hotel. All in all would stay here again

Had an excellent stay here for a long weekend. Staff were more than helpful, friendly and respectful both on the ground floor and elsewhere. Room were a good size, bed comfy and clean. Bar open late so enjoyed a night cap or two on my return. The only down side was that the menu was very set and I couldn't get what I wanted. So I ended up not having their set menu. I would recommend a visit tho and location was brilliant too. I will defo visit again. Thank you staff

The team is FIVE stars…only deducted one for facilities (and they don’t control that). Loved being right off the square and in walking distance to so many restaurants, shopping and pubs. The room was clean and roomy. Loved the towel warmer in the bathroom. Had a safe and closet space. The minor drawbacks were the floors creaked with every step, the pillows were so so, and the TV was around the corner from the bedroom. And one night our friends had 20-something’s drunk and running up and down the halls. But it was only the one night. Slept like babies the next. Now for all of the amazing parts! The team in the restaurant were superb!! We wanted to bring Olga home with us. Catherine was a peach and made the mornings bright. Bobby was quick to serve and smile on his face. And then there is the chef, Sabina (forgive the spelling). I’m gonna cry as I write this….she is the kindest, hardest working woman. Her pride in her craft, her love for people, and the way she guides her son in life is nothing short of inspiring. We would come back for her alone! And to the young man working the front desk and lobby bar at 12:30 last night. We are sorry! We might have been a touch intoxicated. Winks. But you let us in, poured us a drink and tolerated us til we called it a night. Thank you.

Ideal location if you want shops and restaurants nearby. Everything was within a 5-min walk and the staff are so polite, professional and funny. The room was fantastic, there was no fridge in there though so that may surprise some people who expect one. There was an incident at the hotel but it wasn't their fault. In the first floor rest area a drunk naked man kept walking around and near us on the couches which made us feel quite uncomfortable. I rand reception and they sorted out the situation calmly from what we gathered. I'd like to comment the professionalism they took was nice to see as the hotel kept to their standards but were not angry or mean to the man which would've been understandable given the situation. Fair play for taking care of your guests in a delicate manner! Didn't get food in the hotel so cannot comment but the bar area is quite relaxing.

The only five stars I can give this location is location. We just arrived and I literally want to cry, very sketchy at best. Room is not clean, hair in shower, mold around toilet bowl inside. Blinds are held together with type. Carpets are nasty, no attention to cleaning at all. The worse hotel I have EVER stayed in. Steer clear! People outside the hotel begging! Parking is very inconvenient located 5 mins away. Very noisy area.

Traveling with 3 adults total so the triple room option was very appealing, especially for the price. Location is great and check in was quick and easy. Room had a musky smell to it but appeared to be clean otherwise. Our real issue came when we came back after going to dinner and a pub. Doors locked at 10pm without a way to use a key to get in. Had to knock on the door and tell a staff member our name and room number. They for some reason has us down for only two people in our room and would not allow all 3 back in. This was odd because we booked the triple room where the base rate includes 3 adults with all 3 adults present during check in and filled out a form with all 3 of our names. They gave us 3 keys, so I’m not sure where they got only 2 adults. So they made 2 people wait outside in the cold while I had to convince the staff member to let us all 3 back into our room. He was telling me I either had to pay for the extra person or find another hotel for them to stay. I pulled up our reservation which showed the base rate including 3 adults and requested for him to reference the form we filled out at check in and he told me they did not keep those. Eventually, they let us all back in after 10 minutes of us going back and forth, him wanting me to pay more and me refusing to do so. I’m not one to write a bad review but it didn’t sit right with me that we had to convince hotel staff to allow us back into the room that we appropriately booked and already checked into. Not only was it a frustrating expense but also a safety issue.
