Very cosy, intimate restaurant. Lovely staff, very laid back, but good service. Menu wasn't big, but had good options for all. Only wines, bottled beer and cider, no hard spirits. Seafood chowder and lamb shank was absolutely amazing! Very big portions, next time I'd go just for mains. Very convenient location, right in the main shopping/bar street. Would definitely be back another time!

GOOD PLACE, ONE INCH AWAY FROM 5*! Really tasty creamy tomato soup. I didn't enjoy the burger as expected. The beef was overcooked and dry. The bread was also dry and I sincerely think they can get way tastier bread for the burger. Chips were fresh and delicious. So was the salad. My wife really enjoyed her fish and chips. Service was somewhat mixed. Really disliked the fact I had not been since for a while when waiting for a seat. However, really appreciated when they split the soup without asking. Then again, really disliked they took away my plate while my wife was still eating. Also, literally, I had to wave a few times to get the waitresses attention to order the wine, which was a decent Argentinian Malbec. Price is in line with other similar places around the country. The place was packed and full with tourists.

I ate here twice in two days, because it was so solid. The first time, I had fish and chips, which was superb. Then the second day, I had the beef stew. The portions are big and the food is great quality. They play good music too!

Wow. The line outside the door in the rain says it all. Amazing food and something to please everyone. From tradition Irish fare to delicious varieties of other foods. We chose the Mediterranean plate and goat cheese salad. Wow. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could. Peeking around at other diner’s entries made me want to try everything. The fish and chips looked amazing. So did the lamb. A MUST go in Galway!!

5 stars! The lamb was AMAZING. The sauce and veggies were perfect! The salmon was also brilliant. The tomato pesto sauce made a huge difference. I strongly recommend this place. 🤩🤩❤️

The best dinner I had in Ireland so far...every course is so delicious. The grilled seabass was fresh and even rice in it was so good.

Small interesting place to eat traditional dishes coupled with some genuine good service. Lying in a cluster of many other good restaurants, it’s difficult to differentiate this from any of the others around but all the same, worth a trip. Just to highlight how this works - for dessert, I ordered a sticky toffee pudding and when I mentioned that it looks good but can’t see the toffee they quickly bought some toffee sauce to make it good!! Pics attached...

In Galway for about a week and I had dinner here three times. The first night having the specials of tomato basil soup and lamb stew (and the meringue dessert) blew me away. The soup was practically life-changing and I never say that about anything. Second dinner here was sirloin steak cooked and seasoned to perfection (not to mention the chocolate bomb dessert.) The third dinner was the special of grilled salmon with apple tart for dessert. If I lived here, this would be my go-to place for sure.

Loved the Irish lamb stew, which was absolutely delicious and comforting, but the goat cheese salad was too sweet for my palette, needed more acidity. Great ambiance.

Lovely restaurant with even lovelier staff. We had the Calamari (gluten-free), the Beef & Guinness Stew, the Lamb Shank (gluten-free) and the Sirloin Steak. We were really happy with almost everything except the Steak which didn’t really do the trick for me. My boyfriend on the other hand (who tried a few bites) loved it, so it‘s probably just a matter of personal preferences. All in all, we would definitely recommend coming here when you are in Ireland. Also a huge plus: Loads of gluten-free options!

As a Canadian visiting Ireland for the first time, the experience of eating at this restaurant was incomparable. Everything was deliciously fresh - we ordered crab meat with fennel seeds, seafood chowder, Irish mussels and the fishmongers vessel. Portions were huge and prices much lower than expected for the quality of the food.

It’s easy to see why Quay Street Kitchen is so highly rated after hundreds of reviews. The kitchen staff really know how to cook! The calamari was crisp and tender and seasoned in such a way that the natural flavours of the squid are truly enhanced. The mussels were very creamy and packed with umami. The waiting staff were also super friendly and were very quick, from scanning our vaccination certificates to taking our orders. I’m really happy with Quay Street Kitchen and I strongly recommend them.

The Quay Street Kitchen had some of the best vegan and gluten free food I've probably ever had. (This is saying a lot living in one of the top foodie places in the States) Their food was homemade and fresh. The service was good. The space is small but very intimate and a lovely dinning experience. I'd highly recommend anyone in the Galway area to come visit this amazing restaurant. We came here twice in the one night stay because it was that good!

An amazing place! It was busy, but so worth it. I really liked that they call you when they have a free table and in the meantime you can just explore the neighbouring streets of Galway. The bean burger I had was amazing and the staff was beyond nice, making us feel very welcome. I'd love to visit again some day!

This is my first time in Ireland - travelled from Canada! So far this restaurant has the best food and taste! Loved so much of the lamp stew, grilled sea bass and BBQ ribs! You won’t miss this!!!

An absolute delight for the palate. The winners of the feast were clearly the Irish beef stew and seafood chowder. Both of them takes you to a rollercoaster ride of flavours with the meat cooked perfectly well. (8.5/10) Chicken burger and the Beef Salad : they did taste good. So 7 and 7.5 respectively. Calamari rings were not crispy and quite rubbery. But the staff was courteous enough to take it back. Overall, absolutely recommended 💯

This is a great spot to go especially if you want to beat the busy and loud crowds! The atmosphere and service are wonderful. The food was good. I ordered the grilled halloumi sandwich but wish I would have gotten the tofu instead. The bruschetta was alright but the fish and chips were incredible! The best we had in all of Ireland.

My best friend from France visited Ireland and this was the last place we ate before he went back home. The food was very tasty and the staff very nice and helpful . It's one of my top 5 restaurants in Galway. Thank you very much for the food and the service.

Always my go to in Galway, love the food here, small restaurant and no booking but they take your number and you can go for a drink in a nearby bar and they will take you when a table becomes available. Love this place!

This is such a lovely place. Myself and my partner happened upon this place by chance (a place we tried was completely booked) and we both couldn't believe our luck. Fair price, great food (I recommend the Spicy Bean Burger, it's delicious and so filling). Small so don't be surprise if there's no available seating (we were lucky that we just went without a reservation). Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere was cozy and snug. Ideal for friends and couples.

Good choice of veggie and vegan options. We took the lamb, which was very good, and the veggie curry which was also delicious. Nice atmosphere but small place and you might need to wait for a table. Great location. A bit on the pricey side, but high quality food.

Delicious food in downtown Galway! We went for dinner a little early (the location is quite small) but we got seated right away! We both ordered specials (not on the regular menu, but listed on the chalkboard). The Beef stew with Guinness was delicious (and I'm not normally a stew person). My husband really enjoyed the fish & chips too. Everything tasted fresh with quality ingredients!

  • 5/5 Sharon B. 1 year ago on Google
Cozy little restaurant with really tasty food. The dishes are all pretty hearty as well. I had the fishmongers vessel, which had this amazing tomato sauce and heaps of fresh seafood. Definitely worth going to if you're in Galway. Heads up that it can get quite busy during lunch time. Head there early or a little after lunch rush to avoid a wait outside.

I came here last November with my fiancee and ate one of the best fish and chips I have ever had in Ireland. Generous portions, extremely tasty and super friendly staff. Bonus : I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Strongly recommended !

I tried this place on my first day in Galway and was blown away by the food. But not only was the food amazing, also the service is great. I never felt ignored nor was it too much. A food recommendation, if seafood is a favorite of yours, would be the mussels. And one very important tip for all of you: reserve a table!

  • 5/5 Yossi K. 11 months ago on Google
Lovely place in the outskirts of the Galway french quarter. We ate the lambshank and the steak and both were perfectly done. The place seems to draw a crowd (probably because of the great reviews), so make sure to come early to grab a spot. There's inside and outside seating. Outside may be a bit cold at times since the street is a sort of wind funnel from the nearby sea.

  • 4/5 Sze Wee T. 1 year ago on Google
This is a nice and cosy stop along the Latin Quarter in Galway. The place fills up fast so a good idea to come early to get a table. The beef burgers with bacon, fish and chips as well as the steam mussels are good recommendations.

Last evening in Ireland and still hadnt had an Irish stew. This restaurant was rated one of the best so we went there......we were not disappointed! Delicious, hearty, and good price. The waitresses were pleasant and attentive. Thus was a perfect last dinner before heading back to Canada!

The best meal I’ve eaten in a long time. I cannot define homeliness without it seeming dismissive. This place takes that idea of home cooked feel and adds absolute artistry to the way it is. Phenomenal food in its simple goodness. Lovely collective of all female staff who are professional and welcoming. 10/10 A hard recommend.

Incredible. Went for a birthday meal with friends. Plenty of space between tables and hand sanitizer everywhere. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Best food I've had in a long time. Our table went silent as we were enjoying it so much. Very reasonably priced dishes and decent menu with a nice range of dishes. Looking forward to telling all my friends and family about it. Thank you.
