Oh So HOOKED!!! This place was recommended by a local as the best fish 🐠🐟 and chips place in town. She was absolutely right. And we are totally hooked. Ordered said fish and chips and seafood chowder. Both were second to none. Topped with an outstanding service and very unique interior design, makes this place one of a kind. Definitely stop by when in Galway.

excellent neighborhood gem! this restaurant made my galway trip totally worthwhile. all the food we ordered were very good. highlights: the risotto might be the best one in my life, all flavors coming together really balanced; the sal (catch of the day) was big and fresh; i also didn’t know simple veggies as a side can be done so well, very yummy. the price is very reasonable. the service was speedy on a sunday afternoon. the interior of the place is unassuming but at-home-kinda cozy. fyi, everything on the menu can come as grilled or fried, so just ask.

Probably the best seafood mac n'cheese I've tried!! not to mention their fish n' chips! Fries were crunchy and tender. The fish is as fresh as it gets! Best in town!.

This place is a must if you want seafood in Galway. The seafood chowder is one of the best I ever had, great mussels, and calamari!

Excellent restaurant and the best fish and chips in Galway. Lively atmosphere, really friendly and helpful staff, and delicious, fresh food. Prices are very reasonable. The fish and chips are brilliant and always a highlight for me. The monkfish goujons are another very tasty menu item. I would highly recommend hooked ! 5 stars

It was only okay, had the fry and it was pretty mediocre. Quite tasteless overall, eggs over fried and a few hairs were found. Definitely better around the city. The staff tend to stand at the top of the room and survey/stare out over the room, its bizarre and uncomfortable. So right now I could not reccomend it, we could have just got it on a bad day but as it stands I would go to one of many alternates for your breakfast/brunch.

Really good service and the food was delicious. We had Seafood pasta, Creamy salmon mushroom risotto, sweet potato fries, salt n pepper squid, and half a dozen oysters. It all came to around €59. Well worth it.

The restaurant opens at 5pm, we were there at 6pm and already were few people waiting outside. We have been in Barna restaurant so we knew it was okay to wait. And oh boy! Food was delicious!! Leaving pics of what we had today, but also recommending the monk fish, just amazing.

Delicious dinner here the other day! Ordered the fried fish, salmon sandwich, sweet potato fries, and side of mac and cheese. Shared between 2 people and was about 40-45€. The fried fish was incredible!! not too greasy and had a light fry on it. the fish was tasty. Salmon Burger was delish and tasted well with the side of chili mayo sauce! Mac and cheese plus fries were tasty as well and complimented the meal. I’d go back again! This place was recommended by our tour guide for having the best fish and chips :)

Small casual place, definitely worth getting reservations. Seafood chowder, oysters, fish and chips - all superb. One of my favorite meals in Ireland to date.

Super popular restaurant but managed to queue for a seat in a busy Friday evening. They offer a good variety of food, some of them are pretty unusual. The seafood is super fresh, amazing cooking, nice presentation and good service.

What an amazing experience! We've started with some oisters and then we had the fish pie (creamy, crispy, tasty) and a fish soup (spicy and rich). We've really enjoyed the high quality food and the atmosphere, highly recommended!

So from me only 3 stars because the chowder was Juicy, 3 guys with linguine had only 1 wet towel to share so not so nice, my plate was chiped. Only 1 dry towel per person on the table. Good beer, good linguine,

ate here with my sister one evening. we were so excited to try it out because some folks we know from the area highly recommended it. got the half dozen oysters, crab croquettes, fried fish tacos, and truffle chips. all the food was very good!! cooked and flavored very well. the oysters were on point!!! highly recommend getting some here. took a star off because our server was visibly ruder to us than the other patrons. i wonder why??? felt some type of way. super unfortunate but an otherwise really great dinner.

Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the main square. Definitely worth a stop in. Friendly service and a busy place. We luckily got in just before a few parties and received a seat. I had the fish pie and my husband had the slow cooked seafood risotto. You can tell how popular it is by the locals as many people were picking up takeout. This quaint and delicious restaurant worth a stop in.

  • 5/5 David M. 5 years ago on Google
Seriously - for €23 I had a half serve of chowder, fish of the day, a dessert and a can of coke - so damn cheap and the quality was unreal! Super friendly service and when the girls found out I was travelling solo they made extra effort to have a conversation with me. If you’re in town, definitely stop by

Fantastic place, great choice on the menu and you'll want to order everything. Best seafood we had in Ireland and they have everything from fish and chips, fish tacos to more "posh" dishes. Desserts great too. Don't hesitate, check it out if you're in Galway.

Lovely place, but unfortunately small potions of fish for the price. 12€ for shared nachos which came with 5 shrimps in total. Not satisfied. Beside the fact that they only had one type of fish and calling them fish restaurant..

We have called into Hooked twice recently and it won't be long before we are back again. Battered prawns to die for. Beautiful haddock and chips. Mmmmmmm Monkfish gougons. All come with tartar sauce (or other complimentary sauce) and slice of lemon. And great chops too. Friendly service and reasonable social distancing.

my worst experince ever, people be aware, poison sold out there it used to be my must eat place in galway untill saturday when ordered chowder and fish and chips for me and my little girl, when i opened bread from aluminium foil spot mould all over it,MOULD ON BREAD?came back straight away to them and ask manager hold old is the bread they serve to people ,ive been told that its a yesterday bread, when I showed that freshly baked bread to manager and asked can she try it and check how good and fresh is food she just served to me and my child she refused.and explained that she have no idea where that came from.Whoever is selling out of date food to people ,to LOCAL COMMUNITY,shouldnt be on d market ... please avoid

Fresh fish from the fishmonger next door (Ali owns both). Parmesan and truffle and loaded seaweed seasoned cheese chips are absolutely tasty. Recommend the monkfish goujons, Hooked poke bowl and the spicy coated calamari. Decor is a little tacky but nautical. Food excellent. Recommend!

  • 3/5 Ruan van V. 2 years ago on Google
4 out of 5 dishes were great. The grilled hake for one of our group was a bit "flat". And two of three from our group was not very happy with the service. I personally loved the place and would definitely recommend it even though the group as a whole are tough judges and scored it an overall 3/5

I so recommend this place. Absolutely delicious. Fresh oysters and that sea clam chowder omg .. the flavor was spectacular. Not fishy at all. Super cute place out of the main square and busy streets. They even let used my on hot sauce for my oyster 🦪. Price 5/5 Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Place 5/5 Go out of your way it's worth it.

Place is always crowded! Only 14 tables and a very good food! Everything from the sea, one vegetarian option, ok list of drinks. Service is ok. Time to serve a little longer. We tasted the seafood showder, the vegetarian burger and the Alie’s fish Kiev.

  • 5/5 David H. 9 months ago on Google
We started with the fish cake and it was very good - would recommend it if available. We had fish and chips and the sea bass. The grilled Sea Bass was very fresh and tasty but was cooked with a lot of oil on it. The fish and chips were without a doubt the best fried fish I have ever had. Overall good service, fresh fish and a great experience.

One of the most amazing seafood places I've ever been to, and I'm from a coastal town myself. There will probably be a wait, but when all the locals go there, you know it's worth it.

Underwhelmed! Catch of the day, fish & chips. Fresh food, but small portions. 15.50e for 1 piece and small fries. It was a busy restaurant. Must be something to it. Didn't see it ourselves with this dish!
