We have never had a bad experience with La Quinta hotels and purposefully seek them out when possible. This time, however, that was not the case. We were traveling and needed a place to stay for the night and we wanted a place with a hot tub and pool. We have stayed at the La Quinta in Mesquite before and was pleased but recent low reviews made us decide to go to Garland La Quinta instead. I called to make sure their pool and hot tub were working. I was told that they were both working. When we checked in, the room was great and worked perfectly for us. After dinner, we went to the pool. The pool was clear and clean, but the hot tub was cold, slightly green and smelled of fish. I was still able to get in the pool but had been looking forward to a hot tub after a long drive. This morning, the breakfast was one of the worst I have ever seen. The eggs were dry, crumbly and bland. The sausages were weird, pale, and looked nasty. The electric yogurt container was empty or just didn't work. There was no butter for the toast, no coffee and no milk for the cereal. I nicely asked the attendant but she said they were out. Breakfast was from 6-9am, I was in there at 8am but my husband and son went down for breakfast around 7:30 and it was the same. We will not be staying at this location again unless we are desperate. If all you need is a safe clean room to sleep in for the night, then this is your place. If you want a clean hot tub or a halfway decent breakfast go somewhere else.

I believe I stayed here at Christmas one year. My experience was great. In fact, so great I wanted to share with a friend in need. I had my suite all to myself and I enjoyed my stay there very much. I would like to visit there again soon. After reading other reviews I have to say this. There have been some obvious changes with the staff. Again, my experience was great. I didn't have any pets with me. The place was very clean at that time. Sometimes the guests and residents can have a negative affect on nice properties and ruin the great atmosphere that this place offered at one time. Again, I have no complaints about my experience. The staff was great and very professional.

There were no hotels within 2 hours of us during our East TX hail storm 6/14/23. We have no electricity and it’s 97 degree. Wyndam customer service searched all around and everything in our area was booked but found us one in Garland that would take us and our dogs. Juan, the manager was expecting us and went out of his way for us…he genuinely cared about getting us a room after all we went through. We found out our county and surrounding areas were declared a disaster zone, so had to stay a couple extra days. Of course Juan was accommodating and helpful yet again! Our rooms were very clean, we felt safe, & internet was great so we could work remote. THANK YOU JUAN and your team for everything! Tip: Great location and the staff is wonderful. Pet friendly was vital for us!

The room was very spacious, not crowded or limited, of space at all. The sectional had a bed. My parents came, and they had a conjoined room with my brothers. There is a double lock door that connects rooms together. The hot water is not so good one minute is hot next minute is on cold side of warm. There were a few noticeable stains on the sofa and curtains. They do have breakfast from 6a.m. to 9a.m. my kids enjoy the waffles. They have a pool and fitness area and the lobby has computers. Staff was friendly and helpful. Especially the night Manger he gave us direction to a great place, surprise Google didn't recommend it. I will say it's a hidden Gem. We will be back to visit that recommend place he suggested again in the future.

As soon as we walked into the stairwell you are met with the worst smell ever. The room did not feel clean, it was very musty. Would not recommend staying here.

Cleaning staff was so nice and even left extra shampoos and towels for our room when requested, Francis was especially helpful and went out of her way to make sure the staff got our room done quickly when we arrived before our check in time !

I dont normally do reviews... but... just know that as of 11-19-23, 1. To use the elevator, you have to use your room key 2. There is no way to use the hdmi inputs. ( This is a big deal for me as I use a roku/game console ) The tv has no buttons. You have to use the provided remote, and the remote can not access the menus. The front desk was zero help in this regard as the only remote might work is locked away in the bosses office. 3. The hallways and room I was in had a off putting smell This might not be an issue for most, but for me, I will never return to this hotel. I don't watch Hotel TV. Maybe I'm being a little spoiled, but if I had known, I would have never come to this hotel. The fact that even the front desk can not assist in this is ludicrous. When I have been working all day or doing a lot of traveling, I want to relax and get a small taste of home.

This hotel was nice the room was huge and really good space. However… there were roaches here. Not only one roach but several were found on the sitting table crawling up and down. My family and I were disgusted, we had to kill them ourselves. We told the manger of the hotel here about the roaches we saw but he thought it was a “candy wrapper” and picked it up and threw it away… overall very disappointed because we paid $200 to stay here. Edit: Also we noticed by the microwave there were roach eggs, I would not stay at this hotel, plz check the reviews before staying here.

The room was far from satisfactory. The overall cleanliness left much to be desired – dusty surfaces, stained carpets, and a musty odor. The bathroom showed signs of neglect, with mold in the corners and a lingering unpleasant smell. The bed linens appeared worn, and I couldn't shake the feeling of discomfort throughout my stay. It's disappointing when a lack of cleanliness significantly impacts the overall experience. I wasn't aware it was pet free since my husband reserved it. My daughter has an asthma it was the worst experience for us. Never ever will come back.

Find a different hotel. I thought that "La Quinta" had a good reputation. I discovered that you don't want to stay at this one for sure. I normally stay with Choice hotels. Due to November weather, we chose this location for the indoor pool. The room was as hoped. But, strange things like a the shower floor was soft like it was going to fall through. The shower control and spout floated around like the installation was incomplete. And the tub had a real slow drain. Ankle deep bathwater at the end of the shower. And there is a surprise "NO HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE" clause you need to sign upon check-in. Guests are required to exchange towels and linens at the front desk. The bar of soap can only be described as a sliver. The front desk clerk gave me a hard time when I requested two more. So unexpected. Breakfast service was below "La Quinta" standards too. The water dispenser was room temperature, not iced or even chilled. The juices were both empty with no attendant around. Apples were the only selection for fruit. Sliced bread and baby muffins, but why no bagels? And, what is the deal with the eggs? Crumbly eggs on one day and then flat cubes on another day. And why are they serving strange white sausages?

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The parking lot was littered with alcohol cans and cigarette butts, and then the next morning there was vomit near our car. There was absolutely no sound insulation which distressed our dog and kept us up all night. You could’ve heard a pin drop in the room above us and I could clearly hear a child yelling from 4 rooms away. The staff was not friendly. When checking in, the front desk clerk was on a personal phone call instead of actually communicating with me. I booked the room over the phone with a very helpful and friendly corporate representative, however the hotel had NONE of our details so I’m sure that initial booking phone conversation was a huge waste of time. We were then grilled about the amount of pets we had (only 1) and threatened with higher prices for pet fees. Like the other reviews, the smell was weird and it was so odd to have to use your room key to get the elevator to work. The beds were like solid rocks. We had booked and prepaid for 3 nights but decided we would rather drive home through the middle of the night in the snow than stay at this hotel for another night.

I found this location to be easy to access, and the staff friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The AC was a welcome treat from the 100°+ heat.

The accommodation was good, clean and comfortable. Everything worked as expected. The free breakfast was adequate. The location was central to everywhere we planned to go and was easy to get to.

Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel and rooms were clean and bright. Breakfast was good but I'd avoid the breakfast sausage; they looked underdone. Pet friendly with a low pet fee. I'd visit again!

Room was dirty upon arrival. It was black finger prints all over the bathroom door. I had to take a Clorox wipe and wipe everything down. The phone was so dirty its no telling the last time its been clean. Breakfast was a joke. it was mostly microwaved eggs, gray sausages, broken toaster and non functioning waffle batter dispenser.

All the rooms are different. The room I stayed in, the A/C system made lots of noise and there was nowhere to plug in a USB, but the room across the hall that the rest of my family stayed in had an alarm clock with the USB port and the A/C system was quiet. Also, the housekeeping is not consistent. Again, the room I was in got fresh towels, but nothing else was done. The room across the hall, everything was done. The breakfast here left a lot to be desired.

Manager, Jeffrey, was the absolute best. Beds were extremely comfortable and all staff friendly, accommodating and efficient. Common areas and room kept very clean while I was there. Guests I encountered in the hallways, lobby, and dining area were, as well, friendly and relaxed.  I'm a single, older woman traveling alone with a small pet and could not have felt safer, or asked for a better place to stay.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. We did have difficulty with the getting the air-conditioning system set where it would stay the same throughout the day and night. If you wanted quiet this is probably not the best place as you have a lot of highway noise as you are right off the interstate and you do have quite a few kids that run up and down the hallways at all times even though there is a supposedly quiet time.

I have stayed at this location numerous times over the past few years and I love this location. All of the staff is always very nice to me very kind to me especially both of the managers anything I need I always get it’s been clean every time I’ve never had an issue with dirtiness 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Hotel looks recently renovated, furniture in room was in good shape and modern. Carpet appeared to be recently replaced and very clean. Room and bathroom were also well cleaned. Shower pressure was awesome. Only complaint is the bed was a little firm for my liking. Would still stay again since it’s affordable and clean.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences ever. First no phone in the room; that lead me to having to walk downstairs for stuff I needed. No hair dryer, extra towels, no remotes. I had to walk twice down stairs. The food was bland. My baby normally loves eggs and Sausage she spat it out and said yucky. No I’ll never go back!!!

This is rated a 2 star hotel but it's more like 5 star in my opinion. Super clean and wonderfully rennovated rooms and bathrooms. I booked at the last minute after showing up and then walking out of the horrifying La Quinta Mesquite location and this hotel did not dissapoint.

Everything was good until it came down to giving me my deposit back. So if you stay there just do what you want like smoke in the room, damage something, take something because it doesn't matter if you leave the room in perfect condition, you won't be getting your deposit back. Don't believe me then come and stay a night.

Bathroom was filthy hair EVERYWHERE, cars were broken in to. Front desk staff was rude. Screaming kids running up and down the halls. Breakfast has a short window. Would not recommend wasting your money here

Staff handling check-in during the early evening on Jun 14, 2022 was very pleasant. The lobby was vey nice. The breakfast area did not have any staff to make sure unruly guest did not leave dirty/used plates/trash on the food counter...

The place is dirty for starters. Open pet policy means they don't have any pet free rooms. The toilet was broken in the ground and the smell of urine came strongly through the floor constantly. Surfaces were dirty. The breakfast consisted of bread you had to toast yourself on a convection oven that was never plugged in, during a 3 night stay. Eggs bland and overcooked. Sausage links. Waffles you have to make yourself and they were out of batter every time I went. That's it. No other meat no gluten free options, cereal but only room temp water. No cups other than small water cups. It was so dirty. Couldn't eat there due to how dirty it was. Disorganized and sloppy. Multiple people complaining. Terrible smelling carpets and unit was overwhelming. My husband has an asthma attack, my son and i had allergic reactions to the heavy dog dander in the room. It was so unpleasant. They did nothing to rectify the situation. They charged me for an extra 2 nights and didn't return that money until 3 days post returning to my home state. Then after I complained I reviewed email stating I was being refunded and that housekeeping came by and offered a new room. And that we declined. That infuriates me because it never happened. This place was awful. I would not stay here again if my life depended on it. I stay in Texas sometimes 10 times a year and it's my home state. I received no refund as of yet, and I don't expect I will. I feel totally sad that this place looks and sounds great, especially the free breakfast but it turns out to be terrible. Oh also the trash bin on the 3rd floor by the elevator was piled high with trash all three days. No housekeeping was done on that floor. And the elevator smelled of urine. Just all around don't go here.

Room was clean and bathroom was very clean and nice. At first I thought there was no closet but it was behind a giant full length mirror. Our particular room was supposed to have 2 queen beds but only had one plus a fold out couch bed. Another small annoyance was there was no regular coffee packs in our room or coffee cups. There was only decaf and regular thin plastic cups in the bathroom.

Walls seem a bit thin. Heard a lot of people coming and going between 10pm-1am in the hallway. Also, could hear the television and conversations right next door loudly at 8am. Window coolers have a thermostat and go on and off all night during this heatwave. Kind of funny as these were popular coolers in the 1960s. Nice room and bathroom with microwave and a refrigerator and coffee maker. Breakfast was adequate with a waffle maker, cereals, juices bread and coffee. Although, help needs to do a much better job of watching food supplies. Both days we ran out of coffee and had to ask multiple times for replacement coffee. Wait, wait, wait. Ran out of coffee, waffle batter, yogurt, milk and cereal bowls the first morning by 8:00am. Two of those were never replenished an entire hour later when the kitchen closed. Several of the visitors were unhappy about the lack of any attention to our needs at breakfast. Overall, an okay property. The noise from dogs barking in the hallways (pet friendly) was also a mild irritation. Best assets were proximity to the nearby lake and nice rooms, beds and shower.
