Love the ambience, feels like going back in time. Food was good. We went for the set lunch which was value for money at 88rm for 3 course meal. Waiters were friendly and attentive but not pushy on orders for drinks. We had a wonderful time at this place.

Came here for birthday celebration. Opt for the lunch 3 course menu. Serving portion is generous and very fresh. Soft shell crab salad very tasty and refreshing The salmoon main skin are crispy and well cook underneath. Chocolate dessert is a boom. Flavour just on point. Not overpowering. Food serving about 20plus minutes for each set. After meal can tour around the blue mansion. Recommend reservation.

Fine dining, 3 course meals in proper table settings. It's on the first floor of the blue mansion. Better to get a reservation, the guard at the gate will ask for it, otherwise it's a chance to see if they have vacancy. We went on a Friday and it was pretty full. Nice place to meet and chat but don't expect fast food. We end up spending almost 3 hours there with food and coffee later. I had the steak, juicy and tender. So I know this place is legitimately at the higher class.

We had the lunch set at RM88++ per person. The meal consisted 3 courses. We had the foie gras, steak, salmon and soft shelled crab. We finished off with the cheese cake and the chocolate cake. I must say that this is a very affordable and value for money experience. It does feel like the meal cost more than it is. Decor is great and service was also good. Definitely worth a visit.

LOVE IT! The restaurant is located in a really fancy traditional building that gives you the unique old Shanghai upper class atmosphere. Upon entrance, there's a piano man dressed in old Chinese clothing playing classy music at the lobby. Some of the areas of this building are blocked if you're not a resident here, however, it seems like you will be able to explore those places if you purchase a self guided tour on their website. The restaurant: Good service. The staff offered to help us to take photos when they saw us taking selfies. All of the ingredients were really fresh. The cuttlefish starter can be more flavorful. We do love their mains (lamb & chicken). I don't normally like chicken breast but they totally nailed the dish. Excellent combination of different flavours (especially the mushrooms!). It's our anniversary so they gave us complimentary chocolate cake dessert with a raspberry sorbet on the side. It was lovely! Just like a well made chocolate cake you get from a good patisserie in Europe. If you're craving for western dishes, this is the place you want to be. Or at least come to enjoy the building on its own with a glass of wine at their bar!

Good Western food. But the main reason one visits the place is the ambience and deco. Need to inform the guard you have a reservation and they will let you in. Note that they really serve the food very slowly.

Just had lunch here, booking a table was very straightforward. If you intend to drive here, best to book a table in advance so that security is informed to let your car pass and park inside. Had the set lunch and kids had the ala carte spaghetti. Bread was served and the fold cam shortly. Food was top quality, waiters very polite and professional. What made it special was having lunch in the very same building where so many personalities had passed through. You might be able to feel their memories! After lunch we were allowed to walk around the public areas, an additional bonus! If this is your one and only trip to Penang in the foreseeable future, then this place is a must. Don't leave Penang without visiting.

Had a memorable dining experience here celebrating our anniversary. Delicious meal and reasonable portion! Highlight was the sous vide wagyu beef cheeks, super tender and pairs well with the sides. Lamb shank was nice and tender too! Great starters and dessert overall. Also, made us feel right at home by our friendly waiter Mr Javed with his thoughtful and excellent service. :) overall a pleasant dining experience and will definitely be back!

I will usually give high dining restaurants in Penang a miss .... Why eat here when you HAVE Penang hawker food? Eating here the first time seriously challenged my assumptions. The food is REALLY good. It's seriously GOOD. I was surprised at the flavours, texture and taste of the dishes served. Highly recommended to go for the 3 course set meal. The smoked duck salad, clam broth and seabass is really good. They did notify us that the creme brulé was not available (we were disappointed!) but the yam and coconut mousse gateau substitute blew us away. It was a worthy substitute. Take an afternoon to dine here for lunch, then just have the Penang cendol for dinner.

It is a restaurant inside a heritage building. Celebrated my husband's birthday here. He absolutely loved the food and ambiance. We had the 3 course lunch meal and it was plated well and tasted delicious. Very reasonable for a fine dining experience. The waiter who served us was very helpful, friendly and courteous. Great atmosphere with light music. Very clean and well maintained. Blue mansion 1. Very well preserved heritage building 2. Welcoming ambiance 3. Interior decoration and furnishing is on point 4. Nice information on the history of the building and the family who owned it 5. Friendly staff, helped to take pictures of us and the lady staff at the gift shop was pleasant and welcoming Both indigo restaurant and blue mansion earned our adoration and respect. We will definitely pay a visit every time we are in Penang.

We are staying at the Blue Mansion and felt that our stay would be more complete with at least lunch at Indigo. The dining hall was pretty and the serving staff very attentive and friendly. We wanted to try as many of the dishes on the lunch menu as we could, and it was interesting the way they prepared the risotto with a touch of torch ginger in the stock. The pan-seared duck liver was delicious too.

A beautiful experience. Rm88 for set lunch. Food feels like it’s made by someone who takes incredible pride in serving delicious meals. Service was impeccable. Enjoyed the truffle mushroom pasta which features Japanese kelp, an interesting flavour profile that worked surprisingly well!

Fantastic lunch menu at affordable rate (around RM90/pax). The best value premium casual dining I’ve tried. Love the local twist (e.g using Asam Laksa herbs and toppings on a salad dish) on their dishes.

Located deep inside the historic and beautifully restored Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion (also known as the Blue Mansion), Indigo offers a mouth watering, albeit a bit limited offering of fine dining cuisine. The food is beautifully done, and hard to be faulted at all. It’s also a very good place for couples (very romantic in a very Baba and Nonya style) as well as for business discussions / dinners (the place offers pretty good privacy).

Foods were out of my expectations, flavourful and delicious, especially lamb dishes, damn nice. Grilled grouper fillet matches well with tomyam risotto. Thumbs up for great and attentive service, especially the kindness Mr Vincent, recommended a strawberry mousse cake for us, a perfect ending for our dinner.

The 7-course tasting menu was great, went for dinner with my cousin before her departure to Spain, for good. Food-wise all great except the Seared Foie Gras is probably the least favourite by the two of us. The ambience is just nice, quiet and slow. I must say we truly enjoyed the Tasting Menu at Indigo and the architecture of Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion. It was a sentimental night for me, for sure.

The ambience is fantastic. Food is delicious and has good presentation, had foei gras and lamb rack. Both are very tasty. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, explaining about the food etc. I didn't had grilled squid but it looks good too. We had dessert for sharing ... all are very nice done and served

It because this is my 1st time experience eating fine dining, and celebrate anniversary and birthday with my man. I choose Blue Mansion, Indigo. As I saw lots of good reviews, the environment and food portion did worth the price. The chef did bringing me some sparks in some small details of garnishment, such as butter toasted chick peas and apricot eat with lamb shank. Portion quite big and valued of price, only the braised lamb meat can be tender 5% more would be nice, because meat won't stuck in my teeth too much. And for the semi fredo topping pop corn soak the cream and it gone soft quite chewy to bite...Thought it's not suitable to served as lunch dessert because the hot weather makes it melting way too fast. Last, after I done my payment with touch and go the waiter asked me to give a Google reviews and mentioned his name Kanu/Ranu? Because I'm not paying cash so don't have change for him as a tips? So he keep asking me 3 times in 15 minutes, twice inside the restaurant and once at the corridor when we are about to take video shooting works... This makes me feels so uncomfortable!! Or this is restaurant rating culture?! I saw few reviews did mentioned name of other waiter. Anyway, I don't like this! Even, he did ok in serving our meals and offered a chair for us to put our camera bag. Only the way he asked was too much for me, it was a bad ending of my fine dining experience... Ps: I thought paying 10% service tax is waiters responsible to perform professional services...

Had the 88+/ per pax (3 course set lunch) It's a secluded restaurant upstairs in the mansion. A very exquisite & cultural? setting. First Ordered 1. Soft Shell Crab Salad with Asian Vinaigrette - the crab was fried to perfection, vinaigrette was nicely tuned with the (laksa flower?) 2. House-Cured Salmon - salmon. My partner said it's good or probably his liking for raw salmon. Second ordered 1.Australian Black Angus Beef Tenderloin (200g) - mashed potatoes was creamy and nicely seasoned, the sautéed baby spinach was just slathered in full salt (too salty!!) & beef jus I had halfway was clumpy? (Unsure if it's supposed to be) 2. Pan-Seared Atlantic Salmon - the sautéed gnocchi was sweet??? And the fish skin was crispy although murdered by too much salt flakes. Third ordered 1. Malt & Chocolate Gateau - too sweet for my liking a nice touch for sour-ish strawberries to be added but nevertheless too sweet for me. (Extra : they carved happy birthday on a small piece of chocolate for us.) 2. Cheese Cake Mousse - zesty & served in a funky plate. **You'll be getting a cup of coffee or tea to pair with

We had drinks and dinner at the Blue Mansion on Friday night. The hotel is beautiful, and you feel time has stood still here. We decided to stop at the bar for a drink before dinner. Since live Chinese music was playing in the courtyard, we decided to sit there instead. While we enjoyed our meal, we felt that the portions were not good value for the price. We paid $20 USD for a three-course scallop starter… The ambiance and table spacing were nice. There was also some good energy on the night we visited. For all of its positives, we would not return because we didn’t feel the meal was of good value.

Very satisfying dinner. A nice and cozy restaurant nested in a beautifully maintained heritage mansion. Tried their 5 course dinner. 3 beautifully presented starters - all super delicious. Lamb loin was just nice, went well with our selected wine. The ending dessert was fabulous. Will come back again. 👍👍👍

good ambience but the food was not the best and was kinda sad. food display was haphazard. The steak was burnt although i asked for medium & was hard to cut through. the fries taste like they’ve been taken straight out of the freezer & fried. The salmon was bland and tasteless. you’re paying for the ambience but not tastebuds. the price point doesn’t match the taste & food presentation. the brookies for dessert was also bad and should be called a fudge instead.

Really beautiful space nestled within Georgetown, inside out. When you enter the main entrance, just walk straight in and you will see stairs on the right side - the restaurant is on the 2nd level. There was an erhu performance when we were there at 7pm - quite a vibe to immerse in, if you are getting drinks from the bar on level 1. Plenty of seats to chill on a Saturday evening. Was a little confused when I was on level 2 as there was no one at all and the door to the restaurant is closed. Nonetheless, the service at Indigo itself was quite lovely. Food wise, their dishes had unique flavours and was generally good. Skip the squid though, very bland even with the sauce. Would recommend the steak (with beef jus) + spinach and mashed potatoes (was surprised at the big portion!), scallops and capellini here. If you are celebrating a birthday, you can order their desserts and let them know. For reference - with 4 people, we ordered 1 wine, 4 starters, 3 mains and 2 sides to share - we were stuffed. A nice place to book for occasions.

First time visit Indigo @ Blue Mansion. Obviously is a nice ambience for photo shooting (网红打卡圣地). The restaurant serve 3 course for set lunch (2 choices of appetizer, 5 choices of main course and 2 choices of dessert). Both appetizers are nice and we love it. We order steam clams with southeast asian broth and truffles mix mushrooms spaghetti, both I feel so so only. The dessert today are different with menu, they serve orange stawberry parfait and dark chocolate (can't recall the name), we feel good. Overall was not bad but with the taste, it's a bit pricey. Food: 4 stars Environment : 5 stars Worth to try: 4.5 stars Value for money: 3.5 stars

I love this place! It’s like the combination of penang heritage and proper fine dining restaurant. Actually I joined the tour at the blue mansion before having lunch. Me and my family ordered the 3 courses lunch menu. For my son, we ordered him kids meal (Grouper fish and chips). The food are excellent. This restaurant is also friendly for toddlers, it makes me happier.

Great fine dining experience! The place itself is a true penang heritage. Me and my family ordered the 3 courses lunch menu which taste excellent! This restaurant is also friendly for toddlers and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend to book in advance to make it easier.

Amazing fine dining experience! I had the 5-course vegetarian dinner and was absolutely blown away! Everything tasted amazing with rich yet subtle flavors. My favourite is the char grilled cauliflower. Staff was great too! Met one of them, Jalal, at breakfast again as and he’s absolutely wonderful, friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely come back.

Beautiful restaurant located in the historic Blue House of George Town. Menu is inspired by the local cuisine but leans more western. While service standards and overall menu are fantastic, the execution of the menu is not of the highest standards. The giant grouper was rather dry, capellini light in flavour and chicken dish came with a sauce that was not very pleasant. Highlight of the meal were the risotto and steak.

Fine dining in heritage Blue Mansion in the heart of Georgetown. Nice ambience, helpful and friendly staffs, efficient service. Delicious food, tasty dessert and fusion with art on the plate. One of the best. Antique decors and arts but the resto is at 1St floor of the Mansion. Parking inside available for dining and visit the bar on ground floor. Very recommended!

We booked set lunch for 4 persons.. it is very lunch set with 3 course menu with tea or coffee. It is a quite a good deal. Starter we have Burata and momotaro salad and soup of the day. Second course we have Chargrilled Chicken and Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon. All the dishes seem to be decent portion and tasty. For dessert, We have Earl Grey Panna Cotta and Banana Fragipane. We really enjoyed our lunch meal, Great atmosphere and good service. Lovely decoration inside too.

Nothing special for the food. Small portion but not that delicious Over price slightly since the food is nornal We ordered duck confit and Australian lamb rack. Lamb rack not bad but portion is small, not as per the waiter describe. For me is not worth the price. Emily Steak House still better. Ambience not bad. Is instagrammable Ambience. Since the food is normal, probably won't come back for second time. So far the best steak I had is from Emily Steak House, and the wine shop. The Blue Mansion doesn't serve the steak that is comparable with them, sorry to say that. Still need improvement. They do provide envelop to let the customer keep their masks and they have sanitizer on each of the tables in the restaurant. Another thing is the service. Bad service from the one who serve and brought us into the restaurant. No greet us or welcome us. Unlike other cheap restaurant, they still friendly welcome us to their restaurant. This restaurant lose at their service. Crew walking too heavy in the wooden floor and cause alot of noise and vibration . The reason I come here because I saw a lot of comments that the building is instagrammable. Well indeed it is. Another thing is, I wanted to try the steak. But too bad, after tried and I probably won't come back for second round. But lose at their service and food.
