2 experiences I don’t quite like about this place. 1, the guy who serves us, always push too much on the most expensive items. 2, we ordered the live mantis prawns. We ate 2 of it, and it was tasteless. Doesn’t has any freshness or sweetness of the mantis prawns. And the same guy who serves us, told us it’s because of the chef’s cooking maybe doesn’t suits our taste, and it’s not about the cooking. We eat seafoods quite often, we knew what is fresh and what is not. The live mantis prawns at least need to have the meat a little more firm than the frozen one, and also it’s more sweet. This one is totally the opposite. Meat is not firm and the meat has no taste AT ALL. We made complaints, and they removed the mantis prawns from the bill. Below are the taste of the foods 1. Wine steam live prawn. That’s what live prawns suppose to eat as. So sweet and tender! 10/10 2. Coffee chicken. It has no coffee taste at all. Not so recommended. I’m not sure why the guy who serves us told us it’s their recommendation. Not good. 2/10. 3. Tofu with eggplants. This one is real good. Only I think the sauce is a little bit too less. 8/10 4. Stir fried vege. Nothing much to brag about. Not bad not very good too. 7/10 5. Kam heong lala. The lala not that sweet or fresh and the kam heong has too much of curry spices. I believe they boiled d lala first then only stir fried with the sauce. 4/10 6. Mantis prawns. I don’t want to talk about it anymore. -100/10 7. Bbq crab. It’s not bbq. It’s more like boiled crab and bbq for awhile. The fresh crab meat become not so nice to eat. It says in bbq, but there’s no burnt in the crab shell at all. And weird thing is the main part of the crab body is warm but the claws are cold. No doubt the meat is sweet. But the way they cook it is so wrong. 2/10 8. Sg bihun, normal. 4/10. The prawns come with it are so not fresh. 9. Teochew mee. Not so good. Only taste a little better with sambal belacan. 3/10. Overall taste: 4/10 other than prawns and tofu, the rest can skip. Cleanliness: 6/10 Toilet: 5/10 (there’s a toilet for disabled) Price: $$$ Service: 2/10. The guy who took our orders are so annoying and the rest of the waiters are just stand a side to chit chat. Parking: by the road side, there’s a per entrance car park before 7-11, not sure how it charge. Comeback: not at all! Recommend: not at all! For me it’s more like a tourist chopping place. Reply to the owner. Do you get it? It’s not about the chef cooking is not suitable for my taste. First of all, seafoods if they had been boiled before they were being to cook, it’s just a waste of it. The texture the freshness of the seafoods will just go wasted. I’ve explained to the guy who served us there, how can a fresh and lively seafoods lost its sweetness and texture after being cooked? I reduced it to one star due to the stubbornness of you guys. If I can, I will give minus stars to be honest.

Alot of hit and miss. The service was great, but the salesman was very pushy. The rating must be made known to the management therefore a gentle 2 stars. Basically salesperson kept pushing to order live seafood. Ordered 2 crabs and tomyum prawn, then was asked if i wanna add on live big head prawns etc. I think experience of the customers are important, and a well balanced dishes will satisfy one, instead of keep wanting to nail down bigger orders. I was told mantis prawn to be around 250g per piece, ordered 2. Then I saw a promotion item, cheese baked frozen large mantis prawn, rm38 each. Wanted to cancel the live one and go for the cheese baked one, then I was told that those frozen mantis prawns has got some smell, dont recommend it. Why put up for promotion if the food is not up to standard? Then end up in excess of 350g per piece, so RM241 for 2 mantis prawn. It tastes alright, but does not match the price la to be honest. Here comes the local live crabs, claw with muscle atrophy, no meat. Fedback with 10% discount. So what was good? All the cheaper food like tomyum prawn(very good), teochew noodles(good), and eggs with bittergourd(excellent) were good. Kamheong lala were not fresh. We came around 10pm, it was the last table(was told that shop is open anyway). So it sums up our family (group of 5) experience there, with RM588. Basically, cheap food are good, but stay away from pushy sale as it does not stay with the hype. Business can only sustain with feedback like that taken into account.

If you're looking for an open air- conditioned seafood restaurant in Georgetown, Dehappy Restaurant should be on your list. Their live Boston lobster and black pepper crab was fantastic!! Finger licking! Furthermore they really follow the SOP procedure. Felt safe to bring my kids along :)

Pork-free seafood Restaurant. Great service and delicious food. You will be amazed how a simple dish like crab fried rice and Kailan Ikan masin tastes so good. Fish is super fresh. Value for money 🤤😁

Oyster is very big, tasting great especially with Tabasco on topping. The crab is very fresh but add too much shou-xin wine when steam the crab. Tiger beer is not cool but kinda ok. Overall it’s a great experience and perfect dinner for us in Penang. If you were tired with street food, recommend you can try the seafood in Penang, fresh and worthy.

Fresh seafood at reasonable prices. Select the swimming critters from the tanks and cook the way you like it. No pork served so everybody can come eat. Service is decent and the food is delicious. It's street parking and may be a problem. So come early. Can byob, no cockage. Chilli crab, fresh poached prawns and nyonya fish (any type of fish is good, ask for more gravy). The Spore fried beehoon is very good and was my fav. The venison has great taste but a tad chewy. The coffee chicken was ok. The vegwe order was a let down. The Mantou is good, crispy outside and soft inside and a great sauce soaker. 4/5.

Nice ambience, cooling and clean Service is excellent, waiter and waitress are very attentive to our needs. In general the food is tasty, fresh and not salty. Both the crab, Fried Squid and Kapa are fresh. One downside, its pricey and some dishes are smaller portion compared to other places in Penang. Example a plate of L vege is only enough for 3 to 4 person.

Good service but this is a place for tourists. The price they charge super expensive. If u going for service it a good place for you. Food wise normal i don't find it nice. But sea food indeed is fresh. I have two crab for 180rm but other place for 99rm. For taste n price i wont recommended this place.

Great pick if you want to have some fresh seafood. Very local and good value for money. We only had 2 people but wanted to steamed fish, they were nice enough to halve it for us! Very decent service and food. Highly recommended!

Decent seafood at reasonable prices, if you pick the set-price items. I got the crab fried rice, garlic Pak Choy, Kam Heong lala and crispy mantis shrimp. Goes well with the reasonably-priced beer (RM 15/bottle of Heineken at time of writing). Wait staff very attentive, offering to top up drinks and clear out plates on a regular basis. Better than some options closer to the seaside in the city centre.

Unsatisfied Dinner. This restaurant advertise their awesome live crab at their entrance and what you will get for paying 150rm for 2 crab. What we got instead was "shrink" meat for both crab and the staff inform "maybe just a bad catch". We ordered a very average steam fish and we were charge 300rm. The quality is below norm, would not recommend at all. Our hor fun came extremely late when we almost finish all the dish though we have been reminding for many times. The vege we ordered was also changed to something else and serve to us without informing until we question and they inform the dish we ordered is unavailable. AND they try to give us a fruit platter for free to resolve this issue. Overall, step in at your own cost. 0 star if we can rate it.

Some food was quite nice. And some was just ok. We ordered a seafood fried rice at a premium, and it came with a school prawn in it. We questions it, the woman rudely took it away and returned with it unchanged 5 mins later saying that’s how they make it. By then it was cold. The food is way overpriced. I expected a much better experience all round for the money. The reviews say it but I had to check for myself. All in all Disappointing.

Just had dinner here and the food was really good. We ordered Sweet and Sour fish...the fish was very fresh and rhe slices are thick. Not like the ones in KL were the fish slices are so thinly cut that you can see the sky if you held it up. The Kam Heong prawns were big and the prawns are very fresh. The Spinach Soup is very tasty. The stir fry Venison with ginger and Spring Onions was extremely tender and delicious and lastly we had the fried noddles .. very good 👍. Price is also very reasonable for KL standard. Highly recommended if you want to have a break from the hawker food and stalls.

Excellent live seafood and very attentive service! They have huge fish tanks with a great offer of seafood&fish. Serving wine it's a plus, also🙂. We had the black pepper crab, the Nyonya sauce prawns, the mixed vegetables with dried shrimps and all the dishes were amazing! Highly recommended!

We found this place through some recommendations. Unfortunately, a 3 star rating here because: 1. Whole fish dish a tad overpriced but prepared well. 2. The deep fried squid and soft shell crabs had more batter than the main ingredient. Tip: Always good to ask about the size of the fish and grammage so you will know what fish size to expect to justify its cost. Parking: Best to look for designated parking squares at side lanes near the restaurant.

Chilli crab tasted ok, but was not fully cooked. (I did inform two separate waitresses on this but no action was taken by the restaurant, not enough any apology.) Other dishes tasted plain and price is on the higher end.

Don’t need to go to Singapore to try the Chilly Crab. The mantis prawns are awesome; especially go with their crab meat fried rice!

We had just landed in Penang and arrived at Georgetown very hungry! I searched for a nice local place to have a late(ish) dinner and Dahappy Seafood restaurant popped up with pretty good reviews. It was a nice to see the food lived up to those reviews and at a very reasonable price, the stir fried clams with black bean would be the dish I would recommend. Would have loved to go back to try more dishes if we had the time.

A decent seafood restaurant located smack in the centre of George Town offering fresh live seafood. We ordered a colossal amount of food for three of us and they were entirely crustacean. The offerings were very fresh and tasted outstanding. The dishes were reasonably priced save for the lobster. I am in the opinion that it is a little pricey for the size (700 gram for RM 440) Nevertheless the relish made up for it.

Not impressed with the cooking. It can be better when come to compare flavour to dishes ordered. The fried Singapore vermicelli was badly done instead.

Excellent fresh seafood, very easy-going atmosphere, fast service. I liked the retractable roof and water mist sprinklers (better than AC). You can pick a sea creature you want to eat from large aquariums and have it prepared your way. Great for family dinners!

Currently one of the best seafood restaurants in Georgetown. Seafood are fresh and staff gave good recommendation. All we ordered were delicious. Price are reasonable, cheap compared to KL. Friendly staff & fast service. Tables are scattered adequately according to SOP distancing. There are also fishes / crabs / lobsters etc in aquarium. Highly recommended!

I had a dinner here with my tour. I only speak English. The food was great and taste awesome. I'm in love with the stir fried menu and the soup!! My only problem is I cannot really understand the waiter/waitress. Some of them can speak English but some are acting aggressive to us. I'm not pretty sure why it's like that, I doubt its maybe because we didn't understand the culture appropriation. Still a great service! 😊

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
