The staff are extremely friendly and went above and beyond. They gave us an early check in without any fuss. Always greeting us with a warm smile. The room is clean and spacious. Bed and pillows are super comfy. Water pressure is excellent. Location wise the hotel is right next to the 1st Avenue mall and other shops. Super convenient. You have to take one flight of stairs from the parking to check in so might be easier to drop off your bags at the front before parking.

When we arrived at the hotel, the check-in counter is crowded with no SOP. We choose to do the mobile check-in to avoid the queue but there is no one at the Mobile check-in counter and makes us wait more than 15 minutes then only there is a staff attending to us. Overall room experience is great but only the cover for the bathtub is missing but the technician fixed it. Had a bad experience when checking out, the staff at the counter ask me to pay again which I already paid during check-in through the apps. After checking the staff find out that I had already made the payment during the check-in, this should not happen in the big brand of the hotel management group. Staff should check properly before asking the customer to pay again. Last but not least, why does the hotel management allow people to park their cars at the pick-up/drop-off area? It cause trouble for the customer when they want to load their luggage onto the car without any proper area and the staff just stand and see the customer without provide any help to customer to load their luggage.

I booked this hotel due to it’s proximity to the food attractions in Georgetown. In that sense, this was a good choice. However, I felt the hotel needed to improve on it’s housekeeping SOP. Upon check in, the room seems to be quite dusty and the bath area seems to have not been thoroughly cleaned. I requested for a quick clean up and the housekeeping team responded timely. On the second day I requested for a complete cleanup from the front desk and the room was way much cleaner compared to the initial check in. Since the wash closet uses bidet system, it would have been better if the hygiene was maintained. The water pressure in the shower is rather low and there is some kind of sewerage smell in the washroom. Maybe they should introduce some kind of centralised fragrance for the hotel as i did not notice any even at their lobby. Otherwise, the service team was approachable and they respondent promptly which was a plus. Should the management take efforts to improve the housekeeping, this hotel would be one of the best in this area.

Really enjoyed our stay. The facilities were immaculately kept and we were very satisfied with the cleanliness and size of our room. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Location can't be beat! Within walking distance of a lot of delicious street food and The Top. Looking forward to coming back for another stay. COVID-19 protocols and best practices were strictly enforced and observed by all for a safe stay!

Hotel is located in a right place where you can find good food and local attraction area. This is my first time staying in this hotel I am please with their service and hospitality. The warm they provide to us despite the rush. We would come back again to this hotel in near future.

Excellent. We are 3 adults staying in a room with a king bed and a sofa bed. The room is well furnished and spacious. Sofa bed is comfortable. Bathroom is clean and there is a small bonus mirror in the shower area. Requested a room on a high floor with sea views, and we can even see the mainland across the water. Breakfast not included in our rate, but we were able to add it for RM35 pp/pd at check in. Good spread of western and local hot breakfast foods in an air conditioned restaurant.

Great location. Rooms are comfortable. Club lounge well stocked and very popular. Breakfast has large selection of western and eastern choices. Coffee can be improved upon. Lobby has lively music. Nice sea view from higher floors. Reception desk layout can be improved and some seats by the main door will certainly help travellers waiting for their transport.

Rooms are extremely dirty. Stains on bedsheets and chairs. Kettle have stains as well. Was filling water in the tub, there are strands of unknown hair floating in the tubs. Advise to check your bedsheets especially the comforter below. It was extremely disgusting with ?red stains under our pillow. No doubt services was good, staff helped to resolve the issue. Location is good, 1st Avenue shopping mall just across the street. Easy Access.

Everything is great about this hotel. Location is strategic and walking distance to many Penang attraction and the famous Nasi Kandar. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delightful. But.. Their pool is only open from 10am-7pm. 10am is scorching hot for my kids to play. I hope they can change the pool timing in the future.

We had a fantastic time during our 3-day 2-night staycation in the Club Suite. It was an incredibly enjoyable experience, from the luxurious amenities to the excellent service provided by the staff. We were able to fully unwind and relax, taking advantage of the many features available to us, including the spa, gym, and swimming pool. The best part for under club suite, we can enter club lounge for free flowing wine & cheese on every 5pm-7pm. Also, there is a free iconic trishaw ride for free 2 hours from the club suite privileges as well! Truly love it. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities and more. Overall, it was a truly delightful stay and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and rejuvenating getaway. thank you 🙏

For the price we paid, RM500+/room/night, I'd have to give this hotel 3 stars. Granted it was peak season but There was no hotel breakfast included. Rooms were smaller than expected. Gym and pool looked quite dated and old. Fantastic location and check in was smooth though.

Superb quality by all staff, from registration until check out. location is in center for Georgetown all within walking distance. the only thing to comments is the variety and quality of food during breakfast buffet. I have to comments since I have to pay for 7 years old kid only to find out the not much to choose. need improvement.

Super convenient location, be it to drive around on your own or via grab. Friendly staff at check in and concierge. Also, walking distance to many sightseeing spots. Clean spacious room, comfy bed & pillows and clean bathroom. Buffet breakfast is good. Was once at the cafe for late lunch, food was delicious. We get to use the pool facility at Golden Sands Hotel. Definitely recommended for kids!

The service needs to be improved. I booked the room through booking.com, and when I was there to check-in, the price is different, of which I have to top-up by another 5%-6%! When I checked with the front desk staff, I was told that it was due to the SST, which was implemented early this year. I was quite upset because the hotel never inform me beforehand. There's no courtesy at all. This is quite unfair to us, consumer. Other than that, the breakfast spread was average. The bed is comfy but the washroom is quite small. Location is very good. However, the floor was quite sticky until I request the housekeeping for cleaning.

Good location next to malls. Overall I would say this is decent hotel for its location and the staffs are friendly and check in was easy. Breakfast covers good spread. Many Grab drivers available close by. However hotel check in is at 3pm, not suitable for business travellers who arrive early. No spa and dated decors especially the toilet. A no frills hotel for short stays.

The lobby is very welcoming and staff are friendly. Our check in was pretty fast. Hotel room was clean, beds and pillows very comfortable, bathroom was clean. Loved our stay so much that we will be returning in April 2022 for 2 nights with kids.

Nice and pleasant hotel to stay. Visited here last weekend and really satisfied with the service. Wifi speed good have a nice basement parking and free if you are guest in the hotel. So clean inside. Check in from 3 clock and check out at 12 but can request late check out until 2 which is good. Basically nice experience stay here. Will visit again next time ^^

I stayed here in late May for my health screening. Didn't try much of the facilities. Room was spacious, clean, organized with good lighting Bed was comfortable, everything worked properly. The small bathtub was unnecessary. Water pressure was good though. I ran into small incident when I asked for sunny side up to the young cook at the egg station He told me there wasn't any. I was quite surprised as sunny side egg is the most basic egg you could make. Luckily the staff was able to help me out, but the egg that the cook made was runny and weird. Would rather make my own. But other than that I think this hotel is awesome. Location wise is great for tourists, can easily explore the old town by walking. Will definitely come back

Parking will be an issue as lack of parking by the hotel but you can park at the public parking across the road and will be fully reimbursed during check out. Make sure to drop children/elders at the lobby if you get the basement parking as no lift provided only stairs. The staff were friendly and they accommodate to our requests. Overall great experience and location. We don’t eat out and Grab most of the food as they were nearby. Breakfast are okay but almost the same breakfast on the second day.

Excellent modern international hotel with every facility. Charming and helpful staff. Rooms are well appointed, clean and in good order. We had a sea view from the 9th floor albeit somewhat distant. Pool lovely (suggest removing the central rope barrier to allow guests to swim lengths) First class gym and sauna, best steam room anywhere. Reasonably priced.

Overall was excellent, felt very appreciate on the early check in and late check out promotions. Shall do more frequently during this pandemic, me and my wife was going through some stressful time of work. We really spend quality time together there, out from stress with new environment. Those promotions make us to consider. Breakfast was good, and staff services too.Gym equipment was perfect, enjoyed working out there.

Just went there for lunch to clear off my Golden Circle Member point. Well, what I can say, everyone knows how the hotel is legendary in the heart of Georgetown, but I am surprised how well maintained they are. Ok - so the food, they was amazing! They price is very considerable, the food portion was huge and they taste amazing! Look at the images, we were served a tasty whole chicken on a plate! Their burger was just marvelous served with fat fries. We will definitely will come again to dine here, and perhaps have a night there as well?

Though it's my first time staying in this hotel, I think it is a perfect hotel to stay in George Town, Penang. In terms of location, it is within walking distance to various popular street foods. Service was good. We were given a room early to rest while waiting for the other room to be ready. Liked the modern and simple decor in the room with bright pestle colours. The room was quite spacious and a comfortable twin bed. A nice long bench for relaxing near the window to watch the view outside.

It just that I'm not really enjoyed my buffet breakfast due to some SOP that needs to be adhered to. Anyway, once again thanks for everything. Location is the best. Walked around penang from here. Breakfast buffet was tasty with varieties. They also did great job at making us feel comfortable at breakfast. Room size was sufficient for small family of 3 to 4. With super comfortable bed and pillow. Shower had good water pressure.

Nice hotel at a great location. Next to 1st Avenue Mall, Prangin mall and The Top Penang. Walking distance to lots of good food around Georgetown. Booked a family club room for 3 which had a big king size bed and a sofa bed. It was high floor and facing the sea so was very satisfied with it. Was able to visit the club lounge at 16th floor for high tea from 5 to 7pm due to the club room I booked besides going to breakfast at either here or ground floor restaurant. Breakfast has a good and normal spread of food. No complaints for this nice hotel except one day which the room wasn't made up when we came back in the late afternoon. We called and they quickly got someone to clean up the room while we went for the high tea. Overall highly recommended!

Great service, great location (right in front of Top and beside 1st Ave mall which has a supermarket at the basement). Decent breakfast spread. Provides shuttle service to Golden Sands by Shangri La. Comes with a table tennis table near pool. Small pool and there’s some minor Reno works going on beside the pool when we were there.

A very comfortable stay at Jen hotel. This hotel located behind Komtar with plenty nearby food stalls with walking distance. It's also easily can get grab to travel around Penang, short waiting time. The room is clean and comfy, breakfast is reasonable, Club Lounge just a little choice of alcoholic with juices and snacks. Jen hotel will definitely be my choice when my next trip to Penang.

Great Hotel in the center of Georgetown with many food options around. The breakfast is delicious with several bread options and an egg station. Facilities include a nice gym, a pool, sauna and steam room.

The Good - Location was a 10-15 minute walk to get to the main tourist spots. - Breakfast buffet had good variety with egg/omelette/roti station, soup station in addition to both local and western hot dishes, and fresh fruits/juices. - Front staff and concierge were very attentive to our requests. Area for Improvement: - Housekeeping was a bit of an annoyance as they would take our bathrobes daily and not replace them, so I had to call the front staff a few times to get replacements. - Not the hotels fault, but unfortunately "the Green Tea Man" would take most if not all of the tea packets and not leave any for the rest of the guests. If you can afford to stay here, then you probably don't need to hoard all the tea packets. C'MON MAN!

Amazing service and staffs. The location is extremely strategic for tourists. Shopping malls are just 1 minutes walk and there are plenty of eateries around the vicinity. The room was spacious with excellent amenities. The staffs are helpful and friendly. One of the best hotel we ever stayed! Will definitely come back to JEN Penang when I visit Penang again. Excellent Location Nice room. Only a bit strange on the design of bathroom. The bath shower screen only covers half of the bathtub and the whole bathroom get wet every time. When sitting on the flush toilet, my feet can't touch the floor. It's too high.

Our accommodation package included bonus buffet breakfast and a complimentary drink pp was good value for a centrally located hotel in Georgetown. Staff were helpful and polite. Room were well maintained. We highly recommend if you wish to stay in a unesco heritage area.

Terrific staff. Exceptional job, arranged by concierge, by local garage for no charge. The people make the hotel a great experience for the whole family.

Room and staff service are the major thumbs up. I like the uniform (shirt and jeans) - gives out a chill urban vibe. The facilities may need some upgrade / replacement - especially where the swimming pool is concerned. Good place if travelling for business or for city holidays, not so much for family trips...at least to me.

I am having a great hospitality throughout my stay. The room was ultimate comfort and fantastic, the room service was good, gym working well, club room services was amazing and breakfast is awesome. Crew at restaurant that I met during breakfast and coffee time at lounge were polite and respectful, an applause to Nisha!!

Overall the hotel is nice. Rooms are clean and spacious enough for business trips. The location is right smack in the middle of the Heritage Georgetown. The downside was the hotel only have limited parking lots. There's literally not enough parking lots when the hotel is fully occupied. I had to park at the nearby shopping mall and walk back to the hotel. It's not a long walk, but the hotel and the mall parking lots are not connected. If it rains, then it's a hassle.

Room was large and comfy. Bathroom could use a better vent though. Service was beyond excellent. Every time i requested for a towel or bed sheet that was needed the service was quick and efficient and I like how they checked back with us after. Only improvements I can say were that the parking was less and I had to park across the streets at the outdoor parking which was a walk to cross back at the traffic light and we were stuck indoors when it rained as well.

Check in was promptly attended to by Thereshne. She was pleasant & efficient. Room 1411 was clean & well equipped. We appreciated the night light below our side table next to our beds & torchlight provided in case of emergency. Breakfast at Cafe Jen was excellent with good selection. Johan attended to us for all our breakfasts & was very friendly. We felt safe during our stay with all the adherence to sop.

I had a fantastic experience from start to end! The moment I arrived, the bell desk team was on point to assist me with my luggage, which I declined. They kindly guided me to the check in area. Check in was quick and easy. I think the check in process would be better if the staff could quickly also inform guest about the operating hours of the pool and gym. The room is fantastic. I can see that it was recently renovated. All the furniture and fixtures were great. The daily housekeeping was fantastic as well! I always come back to the room at the end of the day with a clean and fresh looking room. Also very glad that the hotel uses glass bottled water instead of plastic which is amazing! Hopefully, sooner, might consider using body wash and shampoo dispensers built in, instead of individual toiletries. While it was a fantastic stay over, there were a couple of minor issues. 1. The shower head pressure was terribly low. 2. Pool and gym operating hours are very odd. The pool closes at 6pm, at the peak preferred timing of use for guests. Thanks to the team here especially the bell desk and housekeeping for working hard!

The place was really good and the breakfast spread was also excellent. Could improve on cleanliness as I did find my room dusty. I'm allergic to dust hence I detected the present of dust easily. My bathroom exhaust fan was also not functioning. Overall it was a great stay as my family had good fun. Thank you for the complimentary birthday cake for my wife. She loved it! Will definitely repeat stay!

1. Check in very good and smooth. My preference room was not available during check in but it was sorted out within 1 hour by room reservation manager Mr. Kalvin. Very good 2. Went for breakfast at 8.30am, food replenishing very slow and most of it was not replenished.

I am glad I could check in earlier and check out later, as offered by the hotel. Breakfast was great and so was dinner ( a la carte). The room was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful (Ms Leena from FD, the concierge, the cafe staff). If I may suggest ... can you make the pool area shadier by placing more of those umbrellas? And can we have more radio channels in the room like in The Light hotel?

Aircon is noisy on the blower. No control over it. So you cant sleep soundly. Bathroom is small. Bedroom is spacious though. Friendly counter service staff making check in and out fast and easy. Location is located next to The Top building. Good place to move around.

Stay 2 nights in this hotel. Convenient location, free parking, friendly service and most importantly for me, the hotel itself is bright enough from outside to inside even corridor.. Rooms are clean, staffs are friendly and helpful. Parking is provided free of charge for hotel guests but need to validate the parking ticket at the hotel lobby before exiting the building. Located at central area of town therefore getting around for food is easy.

We had a comfortable staycation here. Room is comfy, pillows a bit soft but bed is firm enough. Nice view from high floor. What sets this hotel apart is the excellent service, despite the size of the hotel - from front desk to concierge and special shout out to friendly wait staff at breakfast and club lounge who make us feel at home. Maybe staff should wear name tags for guests to easily identify and commend them. Thank you.

Everything was nice with the hotel room. Just that bathroom is very narrow if come with bathtub. While taking shower by standing in the bathtub, water will split every where if you prefer dry bathroom. Other than that the room is nice, service and breakfast also tasty enough. Location wise also good, all by walking distance you can reach if you didnt plan to go far

Best place to stay, good food, good staff & nice view :)

TV is small and the model is old. The shower area is within the bathtub. It is not conducive for older people as it's difficult to stand within the tub. Not to mention the cleanliness of soaking within the same tub (if you do). Amenities are decent. It has both sauna and steambath within the gym. Don't bother to book the room with breakfast. The quality of the food is so disappointing. Variety is decent but not the taste. If you must book this hotel, it's probably for it's location which is quite central.
