Had an amazing weekend there. We requested for late check out when we checked in and they came back to us in 2 hours telling us they have got it settled which was very generous. The pools were very nice with different depths which suit different groups of hotel guests. The garden was well-maintained. Would love to come back next time.

Nice hotel. Good service. Garden view in my friend's room is nicer than my room. My room is in Rasa wing but the view isn't good but it's fine. I came here for a conference. The room is nice. Breakfast is good and provide variety choices. I would love to come back again for vacation. The location is quite far and there is nothing much around.

One of our room got delayed, but after complaining the matter was resolved. The team went above and beyond and gave credits (which we spent on food and activities during the stay) and additional room vouchers for future stay. We enjoyed the hospitality, activities (golf game for family), well equipped gym, location (nice beach view, shuttle to Golden Sands and then walking distance to night market) and good food. Kudos to the team for the enjoyable stay.

My experience calling the hotel for checking on my reservation and special request was not a pleasant experience. The staff who answered sounded unsure, and lacking of training with phone ethics and manners. It supposed to give 1st impression to clients. We expected a top notch customer service from Shang ri la. However we entered the hotel, hardly anyone to guide to the counter for check in. The staffs at the entrance just ignored and chit chat among themselves. Only the guy at the door welcomed us. Poolside toilet was dirty. Otherwise room was very comfortable. The service was very good at the spice market cafe. We enjoyed our breakfast.

Deja Vu! After more than 30 years after my last visit, it was really good to be back, Thanks for preserving the 100+ years Flame of the Forest which I could easily associate and reminisce and so is the pool and the huge granite rocks near the water's edge. The service was par excellence from the guards at the entrance to room service given by the staff. Thanks for making my two day stay at the Garden Wing memorable and enjoyable.

We stayed for a week and our experiences were amazing and unforgettable. The hotel is located in a really quiet area as they have a private beach away from the open. On a clear day, you are able to get a scenic view from the hotel. At times we prefer to rest in the hotel as the beds are the best I have ever slept in. The room was extremely clean as every day the janitor was cleaning the room and provided us new towels and bed linen. All the people here are really friendly and every day greet us with a big smile. We really feel at home and will come back again.

They celebrated the 50th year anniversary in 2023. Everything is well maintained. Veronica always welcomes everyone with her big smiles. The pool cater for babies, children, and adults too. As they are famous for their dinner buffet, breakfast are equally best. Abalone porridge 😋 The lunch by the pool was wonderful, but recently, the satay has reduced size.

Unfortunately, didn't have the best time here. 5 star for the facilities but 3/4 star for the service. With that, with the price you are paying, it is not worth the money. For the service, you would get the same service from a 3 or 4 star hotel but only pay half of the price. Don't get me wrong, the staff are friendly. However, I noticed a few little things that you didn't get here, but you would usually get in other Shangri-la hotels or other 5 star hotel. For example, when we stepped into the hotel lobby on our first day, no one greeted us near the entrance and showed us where to check-in. Also, every time we entered the lobby, no one smiled and or said hi/good morning, for example. You would expect these little things from a 5 star hotel. Moreover, the management in Pinang Bar seems to be lacking. A staff member said that we forgot to pay for our dinner the night before, when we actually did. We had to show them our bank transaction and receipt. Lastly, there were two lifts - but one of them was broken for a few days. For the facilities, the swimming pool area is very clean and the pool itself is massive. The gym is excellent as well, with many machines and weights.

A true tropical paradise. The staff are really friendly and professional. The resort offers true value for money without comprising on quality. Will definitely be going again.

A nice place to stay but I did not have a great check in experience. The initial lady didn't seemed engaged at all and did not want to recognise Jade status. We also had to wait for our room to be ready when we arrived at 5pm. Jay on the other hand was lovely to deal with at the desk the next day.

Dear GM, I hope you are seeing this. I wanted to share my recent not-so-great experiences with your reservation team. Every time I ask for a price quote, the rates keep going up, which has been frustrating. I also noticed that it's tough to secure connecting rooms when booking five months in advance. Most guests expect confirmation, not just a vague "subject to availability." I've check with other hotels, like Park Royal, quickly confirm connecting rooms. I'm not sure why it's a challenge for your reservation system. If you're interested, I can forward you the emails from your reservation team to give you more details. Looking forward to your response.

Great place to stay and chill. Its a little far from most tourist eating area. But its definitely worth the stay. Good green setting, lots of big tree, can sit under the shade while enjoy the sea view and breeze. Hotel room is clean and comfortable. Breakfast with good varieties, just didnt find anything to shout about. Overall superb, will be back again.

Lovely resort with great green settings. A lot of big trees with shades and everywhere is great to chill! Spacious room with beautiful view. The highlight is the international buffet breakfast!!! It was among the best & the highest quality of buffet breakfast I ever had in all the 5 star hotels!

We enjoyed our stay here. Nice location in beautiful surroundings. Large rooms with comfortable beds and good buffet breakfast. One minus point is that there is significant erosion of the beach (not the hotel's fault) and this could be disappointing if you were expecting a beach side hotel

I recently stayed at this hotel with wife and my two kids, and I must say the staff's attentiveness was exceptional. Overall, a delightful stay with a truly helpful and caring team. Will defiantly return in the near future.

We loved our stay . We experienced exceptional service from the start to the end of our stay. The gardens and the beach were lovely and we enjoyed the wild life that we encountered.The Breakfast, tea time and cocktails were fantastic. It will probably be our regular ritual in future.

Stayed at rasa wing and got upgraded to a suite room when we arrive which is a pleasant surprise. The garden and pool area are really nice, as well as the tea and evening cocktail services provided at the lounge daily (incluvise in rasa wing room rates). Also not forget to mention they have a good breakfast variety. During our time of visit, we managed to visit the 50th anniversary gallery display plus the Xmas lighting ceremony as well, the gardens are lit up at night and they are beautiful, it's not easy to maintain an estate of this size, the vibe is very relaxing overall, would definitely visit again some time in the future.

Great experience. We stay at the garden wing level 2, it’s lovely. Scenery is amazing. I just wish that we can get all the four rooms next to another but it’s just fine. Everybody enjoy the stay and look forward to come back in the future.

It’s a bit far from the airport. Also, when you arrive, they ask for quite high amount of deposit which is not stated on the reservation. Restaurants and cafes are really good. Beach is really beautiful. Clean everywhere. I recommend it for 4-5 nights for relaxation.

Excellent hotel situated at Batu Ferringhi with nearby eateries and night markets. Prices are reasonable and the views of the gardens are splendid. Breakfast buffets are good and have many choices of food. Rooms are well-maintained and big. Swimming pools are nice with variety of depths. Definitely a great place for relaxation!

Service is wonderful from the moment you arrive (the ever helpful guard at the entry), to the attentive crew in the hotel. Clean and spacious room, comes with flip flop (so don't have to bring your own, in case you are planning to). Breakfast spread is OK, the lamb murtabak and freshly made pancake are the must try. Spend quality time at the pool, and you'll be greeted by the monitor lizards (nothing to worry, just human and nature co-exist). The only disappointing thing is the beach - limited space but I guess its due to corrosion, so no option. Top notch service and food value, will definitely come back soon (assuming I don't need the beach adventure 😉)

As how 5 star hotels are like. They had buffet dinner promos at that point of time, food not too bad but I think for the price and place, it could have been better as I had been to places with cheaper rate and much better food choices and variety. It's a old classic hotel setting overall. Nice for holiday. Not far to go for other food places and night street markets too.

The hotel is amazing! We were very well taken care of by helpful and talented staff. The location is just great, with the private and very well maintained beach. There are nice restaurants around and places to visit too. The breakfast had a lovely variety of dishes to choose from. The surroundings of the hotel, the nature, the pools, spa and the Christmas 🎄 celebrations during our stay made us feel very happy there.
