Such a pity that there are empty shop/store and there is not much crowd despite it is located in a very strategic location. This mall is relatively new and clean compared to komtar ICT and Prangin mall next to it. At level 2, there are connection to walk over to Komtar & Prangin mall. But there is nothing much there. You will still manage to get some retails such as H&M, Starbucks, electronics store, cinema and F&B outlets here in 1st Avenue mall. If you want to have a walk nearby Penang road or the heritage site, you may also consider to park here. The parking rate is consider very reasonable.

Another attempt to revive a mall next to the bus hub squalor that KOMTAR presides over with brands like H&M and Starbucks may yet succeed when Village Grocer opens here by their own undoing as only the post pandemic incoming tourists can afford such prices. No locals here, living off the streets since being evicted from their UNESCO zone abodes can be served anything other than the free aircon air that cools their sweaty unwashed bodies. No less comfort offered for over a decade under the noses of a corrupt feudal State that has sidelined affordable homes for the coffers of cronies building ever more unattainable edifices, the next mega development at Burmah Square over former squatter and servant housing. Such is the irony of our social conscience, a dilemma of our own foolish electoral choices. After all, we have been taken for fools by fancy rhetoric spewed out from above by those small minded who lord over us.

Great mall although it has its share of unoccupied units, it still has a good mix of dining options (but the FoodCourt is not open.....yet???) and retail therapy.....our favorite pastime ..... window shopping ...... this mall is undergoing some reno in the upper floor....

Great shopping place, but not many brands. There's Village Grocer on the basement from where you can buy grocery. There's a food court upstairs. Thera also a movie hall. This connects with Komtar and Prangin Mall.

1st Avenue Mall. Is a good Mall but not perfect as its not containing all the needs of markets including clothes or restaurants. In addition its area is really small as compared to other competitors like QueensBay Mall.. Although it has special department for computers with good prices.. I really recommend to visit if one wants to buy goods regarded computers.

Went on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't crowded. In fact many empty or closed shop lots in the mall, unfortunately. Perhaps the recession has affected many vendors. Anyway the mall is big and clean, and there are several restaurants and shops open for business.

I really like this mall, it is well kept and clean, and quite calm environment inside especially compared to Komtar and Prangin Mall. The less crowd is a plus considering that it is located right in the middle of Georgetown city centre. They have quite a number of famous outlets like Starbucks, Parkson, Texas Chicken and the only A&W in Penang. There is also TGV cinema at the 8th floor. You can also view the city from the Pavilion View Deck.

1st Avenue Mall is a shopping mall in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is located at Magazine Road, next to Komtar and Prangin Mall, and is linked to both buildings via overhead bridges.

It'd be always the first preference to visit first avenue whenever came to Komtar without fail. It's the best avenue actually for enitre commercial commodities of brand's outlets with good ambiences of entire George town at top Open Area to view full coverage of Georgetown 😍😍😍 Great time to be spend on weekends.Definitelt it would be a gem of Georgetown Area..especially should given a good marks for the spacious car Park allotments up-to 8 th floor with elevator and lift simultaneously to avoid crowd well planned Built-in Mall actually it's.

Despite being 8 floors (3 for parking), the store variety in the mall is a bit lacking. There are some grocers and stores available, and a guardian present. I tried Empire Sushi for the first time here, it’s so good and so cheap 😭 We also decided to check out the cinema and watched Thanksgiving at the cinema for RM19 (not as cheap as JB but well.) There’s also a small arcade where you can try your hand and old school arcade games.

A cool place to beat the hot afternoon sun in Penang. There are sufficient shops here to past the time such as H&M, Watson's, etc. Price is mid range. The toilets here though, are smelly...

Every time I want to look for something, I will go here first because a lot of things I can find here. Such as gifts, place to eat, warehouse, shopping place. The inside also beautiful. The toilets is clean and comfortable. If the tourists or local tourists want to see how is Penang shopping mall, they should visit First Avenue because it is also one of the beautiful shopping malls in penang for me.

Many shops closed down. The Village Grocer is not a good place to buy fruits and vegetables because too expensive. It is unsuitable for low and middle income families. I want Aeon Supermarket open at First Avenue! And why the food court like a deserted place? Please think of the demand and expectations of consumers and create a future plan.

Decent mall if you're looking for high end stuff. There is also a Village Grocer in the basement, along with some snack franchises and a bakery. There are Link Bikes right in front of the H&M, as well as enough space to ride them on the pavement.

It’s just a simple mall located near Komtar. As of now, a lot of shops have been closed down. Restaurants are limited, food choices are not much but it is still okay. It’s a perfect place if you’re shopping for clothes, sports apparel, electronic devices or groceries. The cinema is located at the top floor and sometimes exhibitions are held at the empty space on the top floor.

I visited this shopping mall primarily because of the Mr. D.I.Y outlet, but I must say there are other high-quality tenants, including various shops, fast-food restaurants, and a cinema in the mall as well. Although the mall isn't very large, I believe it should be sufficient to serve the surrounding population of George Town.

Another shopping mall besides KOMTAR building...not too huge but just great to stroll around. Among top shoplots there are H&M, Brand Outlet, Parkson, Guardian, Seoul Garden, Texas Chicken, A&W, Sushi King, Starbucks and etc. There is connection bridge to KOMTAR building at level 4/5...not sure which level.

The most upscale yet smallest mall among the trio of Komtar, Prangin Mall and 1st Avenue Mall converged in the centre of George Town city centre. Lots of choices for clothing, drugstore essentials, mobiles, 2 do it yourself outlets, a cinema, no fuss casual dining places, even gourmet coffee with the choice of Pacific Coffee, Fortiga, Starbucks and PBC short form for Penang Best Coffee. Food Avenue offers lots of choices of local and foreign dishes. 1st Avenue Mall also has the most well maintained toilets compared to its neighbours. The car park is well lighted, its surface coated with a pleasant to the eyes green paint that ensures good grip for tyres. The incline and descent up the car park ramp is also kinder to the tyres compared to the cheaper car park at Prangin Mall.Even though you are charged RM 1 per hour, it is better on the tyres and brakes if you visit the vicinity often.

I remember back when the mall was constructed that this was billed as the Gurney Plaza for town centre dwellers, one which would make Prangin mall and KOMTAR great again. It's disappointing coming back after 10 years away that it couldn't attract the top retailers that are present in Gurney Plaza and Queensbay Mall. Not a lot of quality food choices and the food court is a far cry from the rich selection of the two aforementioned malls. Presence of Parkson is a plus but I noticed that the selection is way less than the one in Gurney Plaza. Overall it's a good visit during the pandemic since it's emptier than other malls.

Parking for cars also ample but not below ground, it's above ground.

Good place for shopping, but sad to see quite many well known restaurants and shops are permanently closed. Especially Baskin Robbins , and at the cinema area, there's not much food to choose. We love ice cream and would love to see more ice-cream and dessert stores around. A place to hang out before movie or to rest our legs, especially for elderly.

It's a domestic shopping mall for the sale of local merchandise. The place is crowded with shops selling all sorts of things. It seems this mall is the electronics market for Penang residents. There are local restaurants, but they were all closed when we arrived around 2:00 pm. The only restaurants open were Burger King and McDonald's. The clothes looked cheap and not worth the effort to get to the mall. It was a very disappointing experience.

Limted selection of shops and 4th floor has no food as stated. There are some fast food in the basement and that's it. We came here to watch movies also. Elevator is convenient and offers nice view over the city

Mr DYI, fabulous shop with hardware and houseware. Bigger than a supermarket in Australia. Massive range, low prices. It's hard not to buy too much. Picture plus lots of other things.. no more pics..

Nice place for shopping in Penang, many shops, few international brands. The place in general is nice and comfortable.

Car park can take ticket or use Touch n' Go. Easy to park. Very neat design. One of the best car park in Penang. Toilets in the mall are suck. Always got flies stick on the wall. Bad smell. Toilet paper always finished. Toilet floor is wet. Many mirrors on the washing hand area. Can check back hair. There is also full body mirror available. Many slots are empty. Not convenient enough to come shopping.
