Our cruise made a stop over and we met a friend for lunch. This cafe is nearby. They serve modern Penang food and the 3 of us over ordered. Having tried many items, we are happy with the overall quality. Service is good. Interestingly we made a reservation for 11am (which they acknowledged) but they only opened at 11.30am

Delicious and rather affordable. It is fine dining, great food, well cooked and priced only slightly more than chain kopitiam. Highly recommended for couples due to the romantic ambiance.

Nice environment for meeting friends. However the food standard is not up to par. The carbs portion is overloaded while the chicken part is really small. Taste for curry and sauce were okay but the tiramisu dessert was a disaster. Service was slow and almost forgotten about us but keep seeing they served other tables. Having high expectations on the food but I guessed will not visit again in future.

This restaurant is situated inside Fort Cornwallis. So I had to pay RM10 for each person to get in but they issued a voucher of RM10 each to eat there. This restaurant seemed to have won quite a lot of awards with their fusion Nyonya concept dishes. Seafood Cake Otak-Otak - 😋😋😋 A bit spicy but very tasty deep fried. Chicken Briyani Rice - 😋😋 Nothing fusion about it. Taste just like any other. The curry sauce could have been thicker. Deep Fried Spring Chicken - 😐😐😐 But no spring chicken and replaced with chicken whole leg. The fried chicken was overlayed with tomato curry sauce. It was just ok for me but my mother loves it. Miniature Nasi Lemak - 😋 My brother absolutely hated it because the rice has no lemak taste at all. It did but very subtle. It was saved by the sambal and the ikan bilis. Otherwise the whole dish could have been one of the worst nasi lemak I ever had. Nasi Kerabu Nyonya - 😋😋😋 This was one of the better dishes that night. Nice presentation and flavorful chicken rendang (I assume) that taste good together with the rice. Creme Brulee - 😋😋😋😋😋 Ironically they won me over with this trio of creme brulee flavors - pandan, pulut hitam and palm sugar (again I assume). The pandan flavored one is the best. Bubur Cha Cha Cake - NOPE I didn't like it at all with the cheese cake later on top while the bottom part are layers of Bubur Cha Cha ingredients. Again only my mother likes it but not for the rest of us.

We heard about this restaurant from the Michelin guide in Malaysia for 2023. Kota Dine & Coffee is situated inside Fort Cornwallis near the coast of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It offers a fine dining experience, fusing modern European cuisine with the traditional Nyonya flavors of Malaysia. The interior was thoughtfully designed and provided an intimate experience for us. Having experienced a decent amount of Peranakan flavors during our time in Malaysia and Singapore, we were excited to see how the chefs would put a creative spin on the foods we were able to try. Our favorites were the laksa campellini and the nasi lemak cake! The pasta was cooked with the perfect texture and blended the flavor of laksa super well, and we had never tried anything as unique as nasi lemak cake before! The cake had both a sweet and slight savory taste, and was extremely enjoyable to finish our meal with. In total, we paid only slightly about 10USD each for the experience. For dining of this level and environment, this was an astonishing price point, as one would expect to pay almost 8-10x as much for a similar service in the US. We appreciated the thoughtfulness behind each dish, the service, and the environment so much, and would highly recommend anyone visiting Penang to check out Kota!

Not very attractive food. 1st you have to get ticket to enter the Fort which is MYR 20@. You will have a MYR 10 voucher for Kota (the restaurant) tho. I arrived at around 6:50pm on a Sunday, but there was no other customers. On the menu there’s fresh juice, but watermelon or honeydew were not available. I tried nutmeg juice, it didn’t taste like fresh but from a box. Chicken satay was not hot or with any charcoal flavor. It was served with a small table stove, but it was for the show only. Sea brass was fresh but the sauce was not really match the seafood. I preferred local food than the ‘fusion food’ in the restaurant. Could be nice to have a coffee in Kota in the afternoon if u were visiting the Fort.

Ambience is so so, food is slightly unique with a twist of peranakan but the place is small. What I dont like about the place is that it is not easily accessible. Best if the owner can provide promo for business or corporate.

Nyonya food with stylish serving. Food delivery during pandemic. We tried Brunch Combo, tasty main course and Dimsum. Chicken Percik, Sambal Kacang Botol, Nyonya fish and curry with turmeric and bunga Telang rice also a package of several dimsum items. All good, spices is full of flavour, succulent chicken, tasty and delicious. Very recommended!

Magical fusion of western cuisine and eastern rempah (spices) which taste surprisingly good. Kopi-O is made with coffee bean roasted with butter and sugar, full of “local taste”, kind of like it.

For menu I have ordered I guess “Kata Asam Pedas” is only good menu to try for. but all the dishes they served is not hot at all, I expected I could have hot dishes. For coffee what they have are only 2 menu which is hot coffee, Kopi O (and) their special dip coffee. They don’t have many menu for coffee.

Located within the Fort Cornwallis, a common tourist spot for penang Island. If you happen to spend your time there, do not hesitate to have your lunch treat at this restaurant located inside it, or to drop by on purpose during dinner (in which you can skip the entrance fee post 7pm) Consist of nyonya touch into every meals prepared of Asian, western of main course, appetiser and even desserts, prepared in their unique exquisite nyonya way, something you couldn't get it anywhere. They have their fancy mocktail drinks of fruits mix that deserve a shout too. Albiet the understandably longer waiting period before the dish is served to you due to high volume of customers dining in, waiters are reasonable and more than willing to be accomodate to your request at their best bet, in the friendliest manner. Overall with the location and quality of food serve, I would say the price is definitely not something you're expecting to come as cheap, but well worth whenever you feel you need to give yourself a treat, pick this as your destination.

I would say that I definitely will revisit this store... Currently still not available for dine in... Order their high tea and pasta box for take away,it exactly look the same as the pic shown on catalogue... What you see is what you get... ❤️ Even tho the pasta already cold but taste was good....Chicken rendang/tumeric/green curry spaghetti, it was so special not the usual spaghetti flavour that you can find outside.... initially I was afraid the taste wil be weird, but apparently it taste great.. And the portion for this is only RM26.80, I can say is very worthy... The high tea set as well, the flavour is not the common high tea set that you seen before. The sweet and savoury, the sweet side is more common, pandan kaya macaroon is special, kaya taste strong but it is too sweet for me. Miniature kaya whirl also normal... Cendol creme brulee special and taste not bad...the fruit tart was soso.... The savoury side, all taste good... Laksa Capellini taste exactly like Laksa but dry type...The nasi lemak make like sushi also taste great.. Although the puff is not crispy, but the spice is strong and yummy... Overall the food is more to heavy type, if u don't like heavy type food then you might not like it.. (just my own opinion) Highly recommended!

The cafe is great. Kinda French vibes thingy. Price is affordable. Not too expensive not too cheap. The environment is really nice and really cozy, relaxing. Suitable for chilling out with friends and family. Foods here are tasty, but some of it a bit oily. Service is really nice. Staffs friendly and helpful. The presentation of foods also really satisfying. Been here several times with my bestfriend btw. Totally would recommend this to my family soon.

Experienced their Christmas and New Year tasting menu - food was generally good, ambience was nice and it's location in Fort Cornwallis made it perfect for a night out with loved ones, friends or family. Did not get to try other things on the menu besides those on the Christmas tasting menu.

I really like the environment here. From the start when you walk in, pay the entry fee of RM10 per pax. You can use it to redeem at the cafe or restaurant you plan to go. Kota food is unique and it is fusion. Satey and Laksa Capellini is a must try. We also ordered a couple of Peranakan food. I think overall food taste is good. Drinks are unique with a local twist, unfortunately we were too full to try the dessert, will come back again to chill and hangout

Did the tasting menu during lunch for rm100. The food is barely warm and flavor is mediocre. Some selection is also not available. Overall poor execution and sub-par service. It is not the same experience I had experience pre-CoVid.

The best place to bring foreigner friends who wanted to try on local food. It's a luxury type of typical Malaysian food and also serving nyonya food

Utterly disappointing food that were either undercooked or precooked. Just too ordinary and degraded to be charged double their worth. Similarly to drinks that were overpriced served in plastic cups. The alcoholic section on top had little choices and ambience was poor, music was more noise than beats, there weren't enough glasses for 3 martinis! Such a shame. It tastes like syrup anyway. And the waiter was rude who insist we take up and pay for another drink that clearly was not ordered nor ever mentioned. It's now no wonder to us, why this place is usually empty. Who would return? What a waste of a night and money.

The food here was superb. Service could've been better. The funny thing about this place is that as tourists we've got to buy the vouchers to enter. The vouchers would then be offset against restaurants/food carts inside. I would recommend coming here to the Fort only during Friday Saturday nights.

This place blew our minds - in a very positive sense. The food is incredibly delicate and tasty and served with an aesthetic touch like it was the finest gourmet - all at or below average prices for this type of restaurant. We payed 150 RM for appetizers, two main courses and two deserts + cocktails! The place is small and isolated which makes you feel that you have left the city. The staff is very polite and friendly, with personal recommendations and a very good understanding of the food they serve. We were served by Vince and Ronald, which was a pleasure! Highly recommend it and we intend to come back!

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
