When here early February. Food was ok, gerai environment, don’t expect much. Probably you need to que and waiting to be seated. Some food was fast delivers at cashier while you order, some of it you need to wait and the waiter will send it to your table. Just make sure you aware of the food hygienes, especially the egg, ask them nicely to wash it before add to your food. The best thing i amaze is their teh tarik. Very tasty and delicious, for me the food just ok. Price also ok. Nasi lemak also nice.

Second time I’ve been here. The first time was on a weekend. I had to q for 40mins. But this time i just walk-in & get my order. COME ON WEEKDAYS When you don’t have to q, all the food tastes better. Definitely try the Roti Bakar. Try everything! The kari for the roti canai is a lil bit spicy. Nothing an adult can’t handle though. Definitely will come again… on a weekday that is 😁

One of the famous local spot for breakfast. Be there early if you want to have the roti with the chicken curry. The chicken really looks tender and was sold out by the time I was there. Expect to have a slower service time during Friday and weekends because of the crowd. But worry not as the orders are prepared hot and fresh upon order. The food preparation method was really fast and hygienic. Price wise was really worth it based on the food quality served. Our favourite were the Roti Bakar Telur Goyang and Roti Canai Telur Goyang Cheese. Unique experience that you have to try when at Penang

Really good roti tampal, roti bakar and nasi dalcha. All the best taste is with the dalcha. Parking easily available. During this endemic COVID 19, the staffs are complying with the SOP. Food and drinks are well priced. Now located at the walkway next to the Police headquarters at Penang Road.

Had breakfast here today. Their toast bread is grilled over charcoal, please try their roti bakar kaya. Roti bakar telur goyang was ok, roti canai was ok, had better ones in Kuala Lumpur. Overall it was an ok experience. There open 7 days a week, expect breakfast crowd starting 8am onwards so do come early !

Visited for breakfast during weekend. Quite crowded and due to rainy day so the seats were quite limited. Overall experience was nice. Food like Roti Bakar series was prepared in front of your eyes once ordered at the counter, while for Roti Canai series will be served later on to your table, waiting time depends on the variety (I ordered Roti Telur Goyang, and was served within 10 minutes; just nice as I finished my Roti Bakar). A historical place for quick bite in the morning as it's established in 1957.

Had the best roti canai here. Tried it with egg and cheese and it was insane. So cheesy and rich with the egg, the roti was soft on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside. Loved every bite. Make sure you get it with a nice ais teh tarik to cool you off, so creamy and strong. Check out our channel for a full review of our experience: Hungry Two Travel.

Long Queue for food. But the line is moving. Had Roti bakar, roti canai and roti canai telur (note that this is different from the one with 2 eggs in the middle). Great food. Well worth the wait. Be prepared in case rain. Returned and ordered the Roti Canai Telur goyang cheese. Best:)

Around 10 AM on Saturday, I spotted a tasty-looking place, joined a short line of about 5-6 people, and tried Roti Butter Cheese and iced tea at a local outdoor table. Both were delicious!

The best place for breakfast. Spending 2 nights in Penang and I came here for two days straight for breakfast. Super love it. Really crowded on holiday and weekend. Fast service. Great food. Really nice. Will repeat if I come to Penang again.

One of the must go roti canai and roti bakar shop if you come to penang! Come early to avoid massive crowd here. The drinks are just perfect and affordable.

Really happy to have breakfast here! Food was great, flavour was robust but not overpowering. Expect a bit of queue as this place is popular! Don’t worry if you don’t speak their language, they have a pictured menu which you can just point and order. Service is friendly, great experience eating here :)

I thought I’d give it a go and see what the hype is all about. This is a halal stall serving variety of roti bakar Came around 10am, pretty decent queue. They run out of roti canai so they can only offer roti balut telur. I had roti bakar telur goyang and roti bakar butter kaya, teh aise Taste- ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food option ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ( alot of choices ) Price - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lokasi - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ( easy to find) Parking - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (road paid parking)

The famous local spot for breakfast, Roti Canai Hutton Lane, comes with curry chicken and eggs. It was a surprise mouthfeel with everything. We enjoy the Roti Bakar Telur Goyang Cheese, which consists of a layer of condensed milk spread over roti bakar with eggs on top.

Tried this place out for breakfast. Queue was already quite long at 9am on a Sunday. Waited for around 30 minutes to get to order. Had the following 1. Roti bakar telur goyang garlic cheese 2. Roti bakar kaya cheese 3. Roti canai Hutton Lane The Roti Bakar were nice. It had a nice charcoal tasted unlike toasts made in an oven. The roti canai was so-so. Not the greatest but worth a try.

Legendary. Known by the local as the best spot for bread toast and roti canai. Too good until we wish our stomach could stuff in more than we already had! Expect long queue. Do come early but minimum 30-45 minute queue is expected but definitely worth it. Tables and seats are scarce but still acceptable

Visited for breakfast and would definitely recommend. Telur Goyang Garlic and Goyang Hokkien very good. Also had the Roti canai tampal with ayam (chicken). Four breakfast dishes and two iced coffees was RM24, very good value.

Everybody line up to order and once you reach your turn, tell the guy where you plan to sit (table number wasn’t clearly visible for most of the tables).. so it’s best to go with someone that can book table while you order. Order drinks when you’re at table. Cleanliness is as per typical roadside stalls. As for the food; I’ve had better kaya elsewhere so so only la. The kari for the roti canai was also not as flavourful.. so so je la overall

3 stars for the food but 4 stars for the atmosphere. We were there on a Tue morning so it wasn’t super crowded. Their roti canai was cold and the curry was standard too, nothing to rave about. The roti bakar was good tho, the toast was thick and fluffy and went well with the cheese and egg. It would be even nicer with kaya or peanut butter spread! For their drinks, the teh was super diluted and tasted like sweet water. Kopi was better although still sweet.

Honestly great breakfast to have here in Penang. Especially love the Roti Canai Hutton Lane + Ayam . So delicious and memorable! The curry is well seasoned along with the right consistency for the eggs. Simply order and eat your food first, before going to the uncle who is slicing bread and collecting money. Efficient and clean practice. 10/10 🥹😌

Highly recommend garlic butter roti Bakar, roti canai cheese, but please don’t order rice. Rice is nothing special. Reasonable price, staff is very nice too!

Roti canai telur goyang cheese, best! Very crispy and unhealthily delicious lol. Roti bakar was pretty good too, you can go with telur goyang on top, add cheese, add kaya, butter, etc...

Seems like people who gave bad reviews is expecting a 5 star food with less money, like for real? I came 2 days in a row to have breakfast and nothing to complain about except the long queue. The food portion is big enough and quite filling. Cleanliness could be better though.

Busy with a 5 minute line at 10am, definitely worth it. Even without chicken, the roti canai is well flavoured, the special with eggs was ~RM5.

Roti bakar with cheese was amazing. Didn't really like the roti canai telur goyang with cheese. Price was pretty reasonable. Crows flying around and can be slightly uncomfortable to eat there. But if you are looking for street food experience then you might like it. Expect long qué. I had to wait for like 45 mins or so. Overall, worth the try.

Was staying at Areca hotel and bumped into this food stall. Can be quite crowded. Ordered roti with egg and roti with egg and cheese and 2 hot teh. The food tasted ok. Not a must to try them out but if you are around, you may want to consider dropping by to try that 1 time.

Tried one of the best spot for breakfast. The shop just right in front of Cendol shop. They still open in the morning during ramadan. Their teh C and roti canai hutton lane. Highly recommended ! Have a good one!

Located in an narrow alley which is about 5 mins walk from Komtar Penang (if this helps, opposite the famous Penang Cendol). Seats are aplenty, but the queue can be long especially on weekends. They operate based on trust; queue, order, eat, pay. Must try their Roti Canai Ayam Kuah Banjir with Telur Goyang; tender meat, oozing egg yolks and curry all mixes well when you take a mouthful bite. Their buns and toasts were good, too! p.s.: They do seem more hygienic than Transfer Road Roti Canai ;)

This is my honest review...the food was just average..the curry tasted bland n ceroii.. roti canai is chewy n hard when its cold. The roti bakar just average but the kaya is on point. Drinks is also not that good.totally not worth the hype.huhu.

Taste is good, but would say it is a bit overrated. Ordered Roti Bakar Goyang (RM 4). Queue moves fast but it is long. Reached at 7.45am and had waited around 20 mins. Not a must try for Penang, but nice to try.

We arrived at the place at 730am & its already opened. Have variety of food that you can choose but for personal preference is roti canai & chicken curry. Delicious!!

Late breakfast at 9.00 and there’s a 10 minute queue. But theres lots of tables around. Had the special roti telor goyang cheese (Rm4.00) A bit too overwhelming to my taste. Best is still roti kosong (Rm1.00) and gulai ayam (Rm3.50)

Overhyped. The q is too long on weekends. Roti bakar masuk angin when you get it. Drinks also meh. Roti Canai Hutton Lane with chicken curry was nice tho. But the price is cheap. Won't come again

Overrated. Taste-wise, very average. Tastes exactly like how you would expect. Nothing special. Also, terrible service. Too many people and the atmosphere wasn’t great. Total for everything here is RM8.

The taste it was okay. I didn't get the hype. The roti canai taste normal and okay to me. The roti bakar is good, they toast it using charcoal I think. Went there around 10 and people are still a lot. Probably will visit again if there's less people and eat their roti bakar. Not roti canai 😁

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
