The food is so so and not impressive enough. The service provider (foreign worker) is not friendly at all, no smile, no facial expression. If he is friendly and nice, perhaps will make counters feel so much better…!

Visit on 20 April 2017: I used to eat here frequently when I lived just opposite for 6 years, and still did after I moved. My last visit before this was probably about 3 years ago. Sadly, this was a disappointing meal. The prices remain about the same, but the taste and quality seem to have dropped significantly. The taste was below average, and the food was not very fresh. It's a shame, as this has always been a hidden gem for affordable, fresh and delicious Japanese food. There is a lot of space in front of the restaurant for parking, and the staff is as great and friendly as always. Hopefully this meal is not the new norm, or that it has improved since this visit. I would love to be able to come here for an enjoyable meal again.

Ample of parking, convinent location. Staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive. Price is slightly mid high lvl, affordable for this area. Food is somewhat mediocre. chicken teriyaki is a bit too sweet even for a sweet tooth like me. Okonomiyaki is not my favourite. Serving time is roughly 20min.

Simple Japanese meals with affordable prices. Good sets available, tasty too. This place has been around for a long time in Penang.

This is an old Japanese restaurant in town. Serve traditional Japanese cuisine with very reasonable price. The foods are nice and delicious. Surprisingly, they serve single scope (s) Baskin Robbins ice cream for set lunch.

Delicious... Even though the restaurant looks old, it's old and friendly.

There is an increase in price compared to the menu seen here. About RM5. Tori katsu horenso bataitame set: Not bad. No butter spinach, so I was offered deep-fried tofu, which was delicious. Chawanmushi is a little salty. Miso bento: The katsu with sauce is interesting. Salmon is thin sliced but fresh. Ikageso: Chewy and not too dry

Excellent value for money. Most sets are rm18-20.

One of the longest surviving Japanese Restaurants in Penang. The food is reasonably priced and they hace a large menu to select from. Taste-wise, okay for the price we pay. Ample free parking outside the restaurant but could be challenging during peak meal hours. This is an established restaurant. However, I personally feel that it is high time for them to refurbish the tired-looking furnishings.

Quality and tasty food with reasonable price and good portion 👍. 1st time here for dinner during Monday, ample parking space. Hot green tea is refillable, spinach with butter sauce and shiitake mushroom are delicious. My daughter love the beef udon which the meat is so soft and tender…really yummy 😋 Will definitely come back again to try on other dishes.

I've known of this place for a really long time but never try before until now. The price is really really reasonable. Food tastes good as well and the portion is just nice. Very friendly staff too. Don't have to worry about parking as there's plenty inside their compound. Will come back again to try more stuff for sure.

Better to reduce menu and raise food quality.

If u are finding some family restaurant, this will be one of ur choice to consider. Nice environment and service, food is somehow either plain or too sweet.

Tasty food at a really fair price (some meals are even lesser than RM20 per person). Their sets are very worth it and the chawanmushi that comes with it is really good. Staff are friendly and the place is cosy for family or a casual date!

This no frills restaurant serves a good selection of Japanese food with fairly large portions at reasonable prices. The salmon set is tasty & comes with salad, egg, California roll & dessert. For an extra RM3, you can have a scoop of Haagen Daaz icecream. Located in a an old bungalow, it has a fairly large compound that is able to accommodate several cars.

Lunch here today. Unfortunately, the sushi chef was not in today so no sushi and sashimi dishes were available. We had the beef steak, unagi and seafood set. Also had the nabeyaki udon and temzaru udon. All the food was OK only. The steak was a little tough. The restaurant looks a little run down.

It’s been here for decades. Their Teriyaki still tastes good with reasonable price

I never really give one star reviews but this place made me do it. The food is just bad. Every dish is made of the lowest quality and the taste is pretty much non existent, just because you have a low price, doesn’t mean you can provide completely inedible dishes, at least make it edible. The kitchen has absolutely no idea at what they’re doing. Even a random Japanese stall at a hawker center would taste better. The worst “Japanese”restaurant in Penang possibly. No idea why some people even choose to return here, please increase your standards towards Japanese food.

Very homely and rustic Japanese restaurant that does some darn good karaage chicken! The decor could do with some refreshing, but pricing is quite reasonable and portion size is decent.

Went there for dinner on Sunday night, food quality averagely ok. Friendly staff but slow service. Family environment. But not my first choice for Japanese food in town.

👍 A friend highly recommended me to visit this restaurant when I travel to Penang. No regrets making my way there as the food is amazing and the pricing is also very reasonable. Don’t mind to visit this place again real soon.

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
