One of my favourite hotels in Penang. It’s basic, but comfortable and super close to some key locations like Gurney Drive, Botanical Gardens, temples and etc. I stay here at least 3 times a year when I go to Penang.

I parked outside & the guys saw me parking but didn’t inform me of any cost (the bays were not marked as hotel parking). I had my hazards on as I was going to be 5 minutes collecting an item. So I was charged for parking so basically if a hotel is that desperate for RM 3 enjoy it but I wouldn’t stay there & wouldn’t recommend it.

Overall review : gloomy and creepy -Bed was comfy -Aircon was cold enough -The room looked very old - i think the rooms on the third floor are not refurbished? They looked like they were from the 70s/80s - Water tap when opened, red/brown liquid flowed out into the bathtub (which i assume is the tap being dirty) - Receptionist looks very tired and gloomy - Looks 100% different from the agoda/booking.com listings Spooky experience: When we checked in to the first room around 3am… we realised the manual lock was broken. Not caring much, we went to rest abit. The electric doorknob started making a weird ringing chime although it was firmly closed. We ignored it for a bit, but the sound came again. And the fourth one came. That was we knew, ok we gotta go. At the reception, we told him what had happened. He seems to know something, and without asking much, he offered us a room change. (Which we really appreciate!!) In the second room, we were less spooked. Whilst sleeping just heard occasional footsteps from above us (there was no rooms there), occasional bell sound from outside and someone breathing beside me. I think it was still manageable for me because i was too tired to care 🥲 but my friend was really scared The toilet door also opened itself whilst i brushed my teeth so uh.. maybe there’s something there that needs to be checked out ;’D Never coming back again haha

Feel like our family got cheated by the “new wing, newly renovated” caption. Room was really old and has a mushy smell. Shower head was old and stained with mould. And it’s beside the main road. Pretty noisy with the symphony from the ambulance, police cars, cars and motorbikes that zoom by. Staffs are pretty friendly, though

The biggest problem was that the aircond was noisy and I hope that could be fixed for all rooms.. The place is dated but it is expected since it is a 2 or 3 star hotel I'm not sure. Staff is good and the location is great and depends on what you are looking to do.

A simple hotel which provides the basic necessities in a very clean, friendly and safe environment. Very satisfied with their service.

I stayed for a night for Thaipusam festival with my family, was told that the hotel check out was 1 to 2 pm as its festive season, however at 11.45am, i was told to vacate the room asap as the next guest arrived. I find the receptionist Ms Radha were really rude, inconsiderate and inconsistent with her information. The rooms were not clean, smells sewerage, leaking roofs, and bedbugs. The only reason took this room as it's the nearest to the temple. The price hiked over the years. Unclean. Unfriendly. Unprofessional. Unworthy Get another hotel with better facility if possible. #doesnt even deserve a star

Great location to watch and take part in Thaipusum celebrations. Rooms are somewhat dated but we were told that rooms would soon be renovated.

The basic need of WiFi was not provided. It’s not working. Staff have no clear answer. Pathetic. It’s not good for overseas tourists.

I love this hotel, clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and beautiful nature scenery, some areas and interior design of this hotel give it a classic feel.

The stay was good. But the receptionist was so rude and not kind at all. I checked in on the 13th of May around 3/4pm. I wanted to pay half cash and half online payment and she was very rude to me.

You can find good and clean local restaurants on the ground floor.

Nearby attractions such as Penang Youth Park, Botanical Garden, Hilltop Murugan Temple. There are also restaurants nearby. Room was clean, however the bathroom drain got clogged up and water drained slowly, so by the time i got out of shower, shower area was flooded, which is unacceptable.

The staff is good and welcoming. The security guard is very pleasant and welcoming. However, the rooms are lacking, the air con takes a long time to cool the room and the water pressure is low. The tea tarik served is very nice.

The toilet door locks automatically and difficult to open. Don't get surprised with mosquitoes at night. Windows cant be locked and too much of traffic noise. And the breakfast...they send you to the mamak joint towards the end with not much choices.

Went to meet some friends. Place was empty despite a band playing from around 8.30pm. Had dinner there but the food was served piecemeal. Some therefore had finished before some even got their food. It wasn't designer food either just standard things like burger, salmon, chicken. Enjoyed the music and the girls joined in the dancing too.
