Only tried the Sago Gula Melaka dessert, very nice. Good quality Gula Melaka, fragrant coconut milk, and sago comes with hint of pandan which is natural.

For those who have been living in Penang, they would probably be familiar with the brand Chopper Board. Started off with really affordable rice sets, they expanded their outlets to different areas in Penang and offering different varieties. However, due to the pandemic, they are currently only operating at this outlet. Their menu still serve tasty food although at a pricier tag.

Portion of chicken is greatly reduce. Smell of anchovies in soup is too strong. Black Pepper Sauce too little makes the rice too dry. Nutmeg both bottles different colours

The taste is different compared to few years back where they are located at Queensbay Mall. The black pepper served with the chicken was not well cooked.

Overall experience is good. Not enough parking, but the owner/worker will help to find parking. The taste is good, typical Malaysian comfort food. I am not the fan of black pepper, so it has caused me have limited choices. The spaghetti is decent, poh piah is nice. Place is cozy. Toilet is outside the shop.

Purposely walked from Tok Tok Mee to here to have their signature soup. The only you can found at here while other shops don't have this soup. The soup base is rich with ikan billis and add on some vinegar to make the soup more aroma and taste fresh. Also ordered sago with malacca sugar as a dessert too. Having it with a raining day is nice too.

A cosy feeling place with comfort tasting food. Personally, the taste hasn't change since I've visited the place back when it was in Bayan Lepas, especially the soup in the set. Price is on the higher side for the type of food served. Long table and chairs make it a good place for families or groups of 4-6. Paid parking is available but limited, due to its proximity to Little India, it can be really busy throughout the day.

Visited last Saturday, the Chopper soup still tastes great as previous. Now they are selling the chopper soup powder in a box, 1 box with 2 packs that can serve 6 people.

We found ourselves at Chopper Board for lunch during our first time in George Town. We were looking for some nasi lemak, and we found it at this wonderful, family run restaurant. The owner was wonderful. He suggested nasi lemak and the lemon fish soup. We ordered both. He also encouraged us to get the chopper soup. It was all very good. Some of the flavors were complexed, but welcomed. We ended up having a long conversation with the owner. He was very proud of his shop. Hopefully we will make it back again.

Fantastic food, fantastic prices. Add a soup and an ice tea to my big plate of black pepper chicken and rice and altogether pay 13RM. I've been traveling around Asia for 6 months now and this is definitely the best quality chicken I've ate. Owner was very friendly. Gave us things to try and asked us where we were from. Happy 26th anniversary to your restaurant. I'm honoured I got to experience it 👍

You MUST try their nutmeg juice. 😲 It's really delicious! Atmosphere at this place seems different (in a positive way) to other places around. Also, the staff is very welcoming. For food only had the soup and Sago Gula Melaka. Definitely recommend the dessert!

I ordered black pepper chicken chop and black pepper chicken rice. I'm disappointed with the black pepper sauce as it's watery like soup and I don't taste the black pepper at all. Service is good no doubt but please buck up on the food.

Fresh baked morning curry or sardine puffs, sugar donuts, cinnamon rolls, with a local coffee. Local & lovely feel.

Came to have their old time menu of black pepper chicken rice and flavour shop (风味汤) that they used to offer previously in Chopper Board. Still same good old taste. It is very hard to find parking during workday and office hour around this area.

Yes, nostalgic. 23 years since their first branch in Bukit Jambul. Taste is the same, one of the best soup in town. Now with instant cook which you can bring home. Definitely friendly boss. Waiting for them to add nasi lemak to their menu.

👍 A friend highly recommended me to visit this restaurant when I travel to Penang. No regrets making my way there as the food is amazing and the pricing is also very reasonable. Don’t mind to visit this place again real soon.

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
