What a fun shop! Full of unique treasures and lovely photographs by the talented owner. Howard was very friendly and helpful in answering our questions. He’s got a great wealth of knowledge and connections in Penang. If you’re looking for special gifts that don’t look touristy, this is a terrific place to shop! Easy to find. Highly recommend!

Not another tacky souvenir shop. This store has actual art and tasteful things you can buy as a reminder of your trip to Penang. I settled on some kitchen magnets featuring some small photographs of iconic Penang street art (I travel light but the printed art was tempting.) Definitely worth a stop and don’t blame me if you leave with something that barely fits into your luggage.

Found an awesome store that my wife and daughters would have happily spent a couple hours in called Shop Howard. He's a photographer❤️ and has a ton of his own matted framed and otherwise photos of Penang and other series. Many other creative or d items for sale... Mostly in nick-nack or some touristy items. Howard is in the photo. Been in business 15 years!

Such a lovely experience. I came here because another traveler had recommended it and the place is filled with beautiful pictures and souvenirs from Georgetown (the kind you would want to buy and hang in your home). It's definitely not your average tourist shop. Howard takes and sells photos picturing Georgetown life, from street art to the facades of the old houses in Chinatown. After carefully selecting a couple of pictures to take home, the owner wrapped them against a plywood plate so they'd survive the backpacking travel. They also sell post cards and stamps.

Despite being located at probably the most touristy precinct in Georgetown, this vintage-art-photography shop is nothing but. It is run by a passionate guy in his 40’s named Howard who double as the art & heritage catalyst/community builder in Georgetown & beyond. You can find interesting print /art / photography items arising from his cross-disciplinary approach & a keen eye on perspectives that others will easily overlook. Enter with an open mind & savour the visual feast within.
