It was a nice experience overall. A long wait time, but it was worth the wait. The staff are extremely nice. They were accommodating and attentive from the moment we’ve entered till we left. Food was great and flavorful. *Though, as other reviewers noted, a bit oily. If only they can modify the amount of oil as it ruins the experience.

Not really sure if they might still be in business by next year with their food services Food is meh, nothing too special ,overpriced and very basic, portion sizes are good. Coffee was just ok they don’t have a pour over coffee too. Service however is excellent and the main reason to return. Seating isn’t the best and atmosphere too Smelled bad inside too.

Great spot for breakfast - friendly staff, delicious food and very reasonably priced. Lots of vegan options too. The portions were a good size and everything was really well seasoned. We had the vegan burrito, vegan breakfast bap and granola all of which were lovely. The coffee is also top notch and a steal at £2 for a long black. Would definitely return!

Down in Glasgow overnight and decided to walk out to this wee gem for breakfast. Got seated straight away, but you might have a wait if there's a few of you. Ordered a fresh squeezed orange juice which was honestly delicious and an Americano, as well as the Stornoway stack (which I'd eye's up on the menu in advance). I reckon my food came within 3 minutes and what a stack! Soughdough toast, potato Scones, rich peppery black pudding, crispy bacon and a tingly warm, slightly sweet chilli jam swirled around the plate. I reckon it may well be the nicest breakfast I've ever had. The cafe itself is lovely, simply decorated and interesting, cosy but busy and the staff are enthusiastic and seem to openly love what they're doing.

Really enjoyed it. Only downside was having to wait so long for a table. Once in, we were served quickly, food was great with really interesting options and reasonable prices. The portion sizes could be reduced a bit IMO esp. pancakes, you certainly don't leave unsatisfied!

I'm already 2 bites in, and oh my god. This is amazing. Probably the best thing I've had in ages. Thank god somewhere that has flavour in the food 😋😋. And iced coffee, just beautifully balanced. I'm so happy. I will definitely come again and again.

This is just an excellent place for breakfast or brunch, with great service. The food is incredible, with great portions and a decent range of choice on the menu. Service was amazing - attentive and chatty. Just generally very nice people. We were in for a good while and didn’t feel rushed to leave, even as the queue was building up outside. They allow dogs in - it’s clear the staff are animal lovers! I loved it - can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely amazing cafe with friendly staff and gorgeous food. The music wasn't too noisy, but the kitchen noise was a bit loud. The chorizo hash was executed perfectly with roasted golden potato and chirizo slices, suitable amount of cheese and perfect tried eggs. The green onions brought more flavour to the dish and prevents you to feel too full. The lemon curd blueberry cheesecake was perfect as well. The lemon curd was not sour nor was the cheesecake too filling. The sweetness was perfectly balanced. It was also very creative to not have solidified the cheesecake to keep it spreadable. The matcha latte was quite good as well. The waitress kindly advised us to add vanilla syrup since it might've been too bitter. However, it was a bit chunky since the matcha powder wasn't completely stirred in, making it quite bitter at the bottom. The cortado was just right for someone who doesn't want to consume an entire cup of coffee or a mere shot of caffeine.

I do not know where to start with this place as everything translated the word ‘perfection’. This is my favourite breakfast spot in Glasgow. I always come for the halloumi hummus fried egg dish and hash browns. They also have the best potato scones I have ever tried. Their french press coffee is good and the place is always packed so you might have to wait for quite of a time but trust me it is worth it.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning, was told it would be a 45 min wait, but ended up being much shorter! The service and the food were both great. I ordered the avocado and salmon on toast, and a Vietnamese coffee. The salmon was good, super filling, but I think I would’ve preferred for it to be smoked salmon instead. The coffee was amazing, I’d definitely recommend it! My friend had the shakshuka and really enjoyed it, great vegetarian option. I paid £14 for the salmon and the coffee, it was fantastic value for money, would happily come here again.

Delicious tasty food, welcoming and friendly staff thought we might have to wait a while for a table as very popular but a well organised system ment we only had a 15 minute wait a it was well worth it 😋

Best brunch in the UK. There we said it. We regularly travel from the midlands to stay in Shawlands and cafe strange brew is a big reason for this. The veggie hash is insane, as are the pancakes. The coffee is great. Super service. Incredible value for money.

Wow. Best food when eating out in a long time. Lovely big portion, great flavours, and beautifully presented. I had sourdough toast with fried eggs, halloumi, hummus, pickles, pomegranate, and more! Really was amazing. I sat outside people watching , love it. I would highly recommend it, and there are heaps of choices on the menu for all diets.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Had to wait around 45 minutes in the pouring rain for a table, so beware the inevitable queue, but it's more than justified. The food is just brilliant, highly recommend anything with black pudding.

Had a wonderful time. I have an intolerance to dairy, onion and garlic and the waiter was so lovely and knowledgeable. Even knew off hand that the hash browns had onion powder in them. Had a super tasty breakfast and my partner had the vegan pancakes, they were phenomenal!

O.M.G!! The food! The friendly service! The options for those of us who need different dietary options! What a find. Very funky vibe. I'd travel back to Glasgow just to go here. Fab place.

Very popular cafe, where you often have to wait for a table, but hey, that's all part of the experience. Really tasty food, I usually always have something with eggs!

  • 4/5 Jesper Josef N. 4 years ago on Google
Great. Amazing food. Amazing service. Really wonderful place, but it feels, weirdly, like it's a victim of its own success in so much as you have to often wait quite a while for a table cause it's so busy! I mean, it's a nice problem to have and they deserve the success, but I wish it was quieter, haha!

Very popular, friendly cafe with interesting range of breakfast options. The food wasn’t all my taste but the queue of people waiting for tables shows that many other people really enjoy the choices on the menu, Prices are not low for the cafe environment, but they are not high either, and service is quick and friendly. (I really enjoyed the cake options, much more than breakfast!). Overall, very good but I won’t race back as I’d prefer more “boring” standard breakfast options.

(Translated by Google) The best cafe I have visited in a long time. Very nice and attentive staff, excellent food, very good coffee. They serve breakfast until 4pm. If they are in the area, it is highly recommended. It is usually quite crowded, but that also speaks of the quality of what is served.

Really nice cafe and nice coffee. However, the scrambled tofu burrito was sadly extremely oily… it actually tasted very nice but the amount of oil kind of ruined it for me. Maybe it was just a one off but it’s a 3 star from me

Amazing, quality food. Great portion sizes. Food was presented beautifully. Loved the layout and the look of the shop. Staff absolutely went over and above expectations with their beautiful hospitality, chattiness and friendliness. Nothing was too much to ask. Been a long while since I’ve tried coffee that tastes that delicious too! However😩.. I did ask for a hazelnut latter and was just given an ordinary latte which initially was disappointing but ended up the coffee was so tasty I didn’t need much sugar. Or possibly it was sweetened with a bit of syrup but I certainly did not taste it. I am a bit of a nerd for coffee so I’m funny when people get my order wrong though I’ve got to say in this occasion everything else was spectacular so I couldn’t take any stars off as mistakes happen. Also one of the menu items had “extra items” listed underneath-I presumed this meant another version of the sandwich for people that didn’t like avocado etc. This meant I had to send the sandwich back as I can’t stand avocado. The woman serving me was an absolute diamond and explained what had happened and couldn’t apologize enough for the misunderstanding. In hind sight I probably skim read and should have been more clear when asking for what I wanted. They made me a new sandwich super quick. I ended up only eating half of it despite how delicious it was because it was so filling! Made a great lunch for later in the day reheated😍 thank you cafe strange brew staff, I’ll definitely be back💞

Best cafe in Glasgow for brunch! Always a queue so plan ahead (they don't take bookings) and its very cozy inside space wise - but that all adds to the great atmoshphere and fantastic food! Great varied choice on the menu for food and drink. Look out for their daily specials on the board inside. Service was prompt & mega friendy - also dog friendly!

Started my day here when I turned 50 it really is very good. The breakfast is away from the normal greased up food you eat but instead you are given a culinary delight for your taste buds and they are reasonably priced but be warned this is a busy wee place so can get a bit busy but it's worth the wait will defo be going back

A truly awesome place for breakfast, as you can see quality food thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family, coffee excellent with friendly staff to round it all off. Be prepared to wait at busy times but as usual it is well worth it, a busy corner of Glasgow so plan ahead to enjoy the whole experience that is Cafe Strange Brew.

My favourite brunch spot in Glasgow - the food never fails to impress me and the service is always quick. The only downfall is the occasional long wait for a table at the weekends, which is understandable due to the popularity of the place, so I would advise visit during weekdays if possible
