Date night with the hubby and had a delicious meal. Staff was great and entertaining (had the table side caesar). My one tiny critique would be that I would have loved a wet towelette after the seafood tower instead of at the end of entire meal. The brine from the crab legs made my hands sticky. Other than that, enjoyed everything we ate.

Magnificent! Some of the best scallops I’ve ever had, wonderful steak perfectly prepared, with well made accompaniments. The dessert was great - the mocha crème brûlée was 10 out of 10. Service that could put some of the Michelin star restaurants we have visited to shame. Rebecca was the perfect server - attentive but not intrusive. I would have taken more photos but the food didn’t last long enough.

What a FANTASTIC experience! I went out for dinner with my client and it could not have been more perfect. All staff were the BEST server, very attentive, had great recommendations based on what we were interested in and very friendly! The steak was better than any of the other fine dining establishments we’ve visited in the city. We will be back!

As well as other reviewers ,I would like say the male waiter is rude and and bit racism. 0 out of 10,both services and food . Mid rare steak is too over for midrare and waiting like 4 min for black pepper. I personally will recommend smoke and avoid CUT.

Awesome steaks and even better service! My wife and I went here for a nice night out plus a friend had given us a gift certificate they had won in the QE2 Lottery. When trying to redeem it there was some technical issues with the machine. Our server took it on himself to go and sort it out. Our savior for the night. Great service! We each had a striploin. I think my wife's PEI one was better than my Alberta (in picture) but both were spectacular!

Arrived with a group of 8 and it was easily the best steak I've had in Halifax. Service was fantastic. There was a little issue at the end when separating the bill, but I'm happy to say we still ended up making our boat reservation even though it was pretty close 🙂. Would highly recommend dining here, especially for groups of people.

Hands down best steak I've ever had. The place is fancy and reservations are required. Nothing is overlooked here. Brown butter, heated plates, $250 steaks. Delicious. Service impeccable. I ordered a Alberta Angus 8oz with a baked potato. The steak practically melted in my mouth. Place is expensive so be prepared to pay. I do recommend this place and I'll definitely be back.

Tonight, my wife and I dined at Cut to celebrate our 25th anniversary. What a nice evening! The steaks were perfect and a testament to the chef's expertise, and their selection of ample sides and enhancements elevated the meal to a higher level. From the delicious Yukon gold mashed potatoes, green beans, and sautéed mushrooms, each side dish complemented the steaks flawlessly. What truly sets Cut apart was the courteous and comprehensive service. The staff worked seamlessly as a team, were highly knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive to every detail of our dining experience without intrusion. They all worked together to ensure our satisfaction. Thanks Cut, for a fine evening out! Highly recommended.

Great steak. One of the best I’ve had actually. We ordered the rib steak bone in and have nothing but great things to say about it. Our server was ok, a little bit over-sharing in his personal life, and was a little bit snappy in questions that we had. Particularly about the wine. We tasted a bottle recommendation and sent it back as it wasn’t what we were looking for, he wasn’t too bothered, but made a sarcastic comment when trying the next bottle which we accepted. Just wasn’t expecting nor should have received when dining at such a restaurant. Still, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Would have been better if they had some more steakhouse staples such as creamed spinach.

Absolutely hands down one of the best restaurants we have dined in. Fabulous food, service and atmosphere. Amazing dining experience. We are from Ottawa and have dined in many great restaurants. The Cut is right up there with the best. Thank you Philip, Dillion, Mike and Jim for making our dining experience so wonderful.

We visit 5 start steakhouses up and down the east coast of N.America and this has been the best one, bar none. Food absolutely divine. Not huge menu, but everything is perfection. Bartenders drink recommendations were absolutely spot on. Wait staff checks in frequently, but not hovery. And all staff clearly work as a team, no sense of competition or any drama/personality conflicts that come across to customers. Atmosphere was romantic, but not eye straining. Location set back, but easy to find. 10/10 in absolutely everyday. Worth the 16hr drive from home just for dinner in the future.

My partner and I came here after the Bill Burr comedy special. We both have never eaten at this establishment before but wanted to go somewhere extra special. We were running a bit late but the staff accommodated us with open arms and gave us excellent service. I got the rainbow trout and zucchini my partner got the steak and we shared asparagus and the mashed potatoes. This was probably the best thing I've eaten in years definitely one of the best meals I've ever had. Will absolutely be coming back to this restaurant and suggest all friends and family try their food as well. The atmosphere was relaxing and beautiful.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our first dinner here tonight. The service was super thoughtful, our servers were attentive and genuine and the food was delicious! I ordered the 6oz tenderloin and the yukon gold mash. Both of these dishes were probably the best I've ever had. The portions were big enough that I could take some home, too!

Their service is great, and the steak is also great. I've eaten at steakhouses around the world, and this place delivers a reliable, quality, flavourful stake cooked to your preference. The sides are also substantial and tasty. I usually get the ribeye whenever I can because I love a fatty steak, but I've tried other cuts too. I wasn't blown away by the starters, the portions are less generous than expected and quite simple and replicable. Would love to see more love put into the starters, but always reliable and quality steak.

The best steak ever. Cooked to perfection and so flavorful. The ceasar salad made tableside was also one of the best salads I've had.

Nice place for a business dinner or lunch. Had fresh oysters for starters, an Atlantic AAA steak and 1.5 lbs Atlantic lobster dinner with starch baked potato and Chef's vegetables as an enhancement. Good selection of wine.

Amazing experience. My boyfriend is a fan of getting bartenders choice for drinks everywhere we go, Matt did not disappoint. He was creative each and every time. He was full of personality and actually had a few conversations with us throughout the night. All of the staff were very friendly and all made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere is absolutely breath taking and the food was amazing. Our only complaint was that the steaks did not come with a side for free, each side is extra. However, we will still return. They also gave us an individual blueberry loaf on the way out that was absolutely incredible!! My favourite spot in Halifax so far!!

I would have rated this 5 star higher. The food was good. No complaints other than I do believe the Keg to be better. Here, though is our issue. My wife and I got there and were told there was no tables. We could have the bar. So, we accepted. We ate our $250 dollar meal. Paid and left and we left To a restaurant with one table taken. The rest? Empty. My knees bother me so the high chairs at the bar I cannot stand and while I accepted the car…. they knew I wanted a nice seat and didn’t offer us that even when our food came. At that time we were the only people there other than another couple have Having a drink at the bar. A Restaurant like this needs to be better. I think they have to be better. Or they just don’t deserve to have five stars. I probably will not go back and while not a huge deal it’s a big enough deal to us when paying the prices they require.

Not as impressive as we hoped for. We had the tomahawk steak, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, chef's vegetables, lobster tail, a few sauces, and pasta. The pasta probably had the most flavor. Most other items were very bland and boring. It felt like the restaurant ran out of salt that night because the dishes were so ho-hum. Service was great with friendly and helpful servers. Comfortable tables and good covid procedures. While the to-go loaf offering was a nice touch, I'd prefer the restaurant spent more effort getting the basics down before looking to add flair.

Came here for NYE. Dinner was really disappointing. Service was great until we got our food. Once we got our mains, our server ignored our table completely until we were finished. Had the octopus as a starter and it was actually quite good. Mains not so much. My partner ordered a ribeye mid rare and I ordered the rack of lamb mid rare. My partners steak came out blue rare and basically raw, and my rack of lamb was nearing well done. Also a rack of lamb has 8 ribs. I was really confused when my half rack of lamb only came with two tiny little riblits. Starches and jus served with the lamb were very bland and flavorless. Would have asked to have a proteins replaced but our server didn't bother checking on us until we were clearly finished eating. Our side dishes, mac and cheese and brussel sprouts were decent and probably the best part of the meal. For being a upscale steak house, the side dishes really shouldn't be a the selling point. Also, ever server and member of the staff looked unhappy and miserable. Not a single smile in the place. It mad the vibe very uncomfortable.

Service: 5/5 Food: 2/5 Price: $470, $556 after-tip, for 2 people. Good: - The service was excellent. Some of the best service in Halifax. - Foie Gras Poêlé - fantastic. - Chocolate Mirror Cake - quite nice. Not-so-good: - The steaks. We got the Canada Prime AAA Dry-Aged ribeye and strip. They were unusually grisly, and rather than being properly marbled, they were just excessively fatty - not intramuscular marbling like you'd expect, but great gobs of unchewable fat everywhere. Beyond the poor quality of meat, we both found that the steaks lacked flavour entirely - no buttery taste, nor any hint of salt/pepper/garlic/rosemary that most steakhouses incorporate in the cooking process. - For the price, and all the show-and-tell re: the dry-aging process and the superior quality to expect from it, I was extremely disappointed. These were among the worst steaks I've had in a restaurant. We are quite familiar with dry-aged steaks, we both cook with steaks quite frequently, and though they were the main course, they were the worst (and most expensive) part of our night. - The Mac and Cheese. This seemed to have no cheese in it at all. It was like Panko breadcrumbs on top of a heap of dry macaroni noodles. Not creamy or cheesy at all, just bland pasta. - Béarnaise - this had almost no tarragon in it. When it arrived, I was surprised that it was flatly yellow, with no noticeable chopped tarragon anywhere, and upon tasting, it just seemed like they had double-boiled egg yolk and butter and omitted the tarragon entirely. I make a lot of Béarnaise and I was really looking forward to trying this one. It was not good. Overall: I was disappointed with our experience at Cut. This meal cost over $550 for two people. The steaks were very poor quality, both in meat quality and flavour, the sides were incredibly expensive and hugely disappointing, and the steak sauce was a big letdown. I hate to mention this, but as we finished our dinner, I felt increasingly unwell, and experienced symptoms consistent with foodborne illness, including vomiting, immediately following our main course and the entire night thereafter. I obviously cannot confirm the exact cause, but I feel it's important to share my experience for the awareness of the restaurant and potential future customers. I felt there was something amiss with the quality of our meal while I was eating it, and it would seem I was right given how ill I immediately became. Anyway, even if I hadn't become sick following our meal, my review would be the same - this was not worth the price we paid. I would expect much higher quality meat from a proper steakhouse. Ours were tough, lacked proper marbling, were quite grisly, and had no flavour. I hate leave bad reviews, but I felt compelled to be honest given how expensive this place is, and how disappointed we were in a dinner we'd been looking forward to for a long time. Had our server not been excellent, this review would be even lower. We dine at Shuck a lot, another RCR restaurant, and have always had good experiences. I was surprised and disappointed that just upstairs, we'd have an experience like we did.

Let's start with service. Our server Jonathan was excellent and on all night. Food came quickly and so did the drinks. Restaurant itself was nice and what was expected besides the elevator music they had playing all night. Food was just ok. Oysters and Fois Gras to start. Oysters were delicious as they tend to be everywhere in NS but Fois Gras seemed under done, a little to raw for our liking. Boneless Rib Eye was delicious but the tenderloin was what you'd expect from any high end restaurant however it didn't come with any sauce or topping. We ordered fries, parsnip and cabbage as sides. The fries were soggy and parsnip were under cooked. The cabbage dish itself was very good. All were served as group dishes and were each charged separately leaving you with way to much food. The desert was what you would expect at any high end restaurant. Overall food was overrated for the cost. If you want a high end meal for at least $100 less head over to the Little Gull in New Glasgow. Hey and you'll even be able to get parking in front of the restaurant. Only other complaint is the lack of NS Wine selections, huge wine menu but they are from around the world instead of our wonderful Annapolis Valley.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
