Incredible staff & atmosphere! Very accommodating of allergies as well; my wife has a severe nut allergy and the waiter and hostess were very upfront and they make everything fresh so it's safe. Very good quality for the price, one of the best fine dining experience in Halifax!

Great night out with friends. Service was fantastic and food was amazing (we had the lamb, haddock and veal). We will definitely be returning here. Special thanks to our waiter Sean who was very entertaining and made the evening that much more enjoyable.

Disappointed. The place isn't a fine dinning any more with the new team. We booked couple days ago and got seated at a tiny table under the stairs. The host looked at us and kinda speaked with her eyes that, she knows it sucks but couldn't do anything. The music was too loud that made me think for a second I went into a bar. Maybe I should've left when I heard the loud music. Later our drinks come and find something looks like a cooked piece of cilantro in the glass (it was coke). We ordered mussels for sharing. The mussels taste fishy, and definitely previously frozen and didn't kept well. There were seaweed pieces on the shell indicating they probably didn't wash the mussels well. The server just took the not even half finished plate without asking how was it. The main dishes were just okay, nothing impressive, and the plating has changed very much. Because of the experience we even decided to skip the desserts and almost skipped the main dishes.

I don’t write many reviews, but when a place makes an impact on me I like to share my thoughts. My wife and I enjoyed our 12 year anniversary at Da Maurizio and we wouldn’t change a thing. The atmosphere was nice, the waiter was accommodating and the food was spectacular! The fresh calamari was soft and delicious. The main courses were to die for. I can go to heaven happy now after having that meal. The desserts were also amazing. I had pistachio and chocolate gelato and my wife had the dark chocolate mousse. You HAVE to try both. Best fine dining experience we have had in a long time.

The BEST food I had after going back home to Halifax! It was far better than any of the food I tried on a nameless top tier golf resort where the food cost twice as much. My scallops and risotto were cooked to perfection and from what I was told, the whole table was wholly impressed at the quality of the dishes they had chosen. The service is great as well, friendly, engaging, dynamic and not overly present to the point you feel anyone is watching you over your shoulder (I'm sure many have been in that situation before). Please take my advice come and try the food here, it will not disappoint!!!

One of the best italian restaurant in Halifax. I had a seafood pasta and I can say it was one the best pastas I’ve ever had in my life. I went to Da Maurizio with 4 friends they were all amazed by the taste of the dishes they chose. One of my friends is a Chef and complimented Da Maurizio’s Chef for the greatest Gnocchi she’s ever had! They are open only for dinner, so it’s an option for a date. They also have a great staff, and an exceptional Wine Menu. Hope to be able to be back soon

Based on price range, I expected next level/mindblowing food experience. Appetizer was good but main dish was average. Wine selection is not bad. Made reservation in advance but did not make cut to be seated on the main floor. So maybe my review would differ from main floor atmosphere experience.

I would give this place more stars if I could. The food was absolutely amazing from appetizers to desserts nothing disappointed. The service was excellent including the hostess, very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. We will definitely be back.

We wanted a special restaurant as it was our last weekend away for our second baby arrives. DaMaurizio did not disappoint! From the minute we walked in we felt like special guests. The hostess was so friendly and kind. Our server was funny, knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. We started with bread then the spiced olives & bruschetta - all of which were delicious! I had the pappardelle and my husband had the bolognese and they were both 10/10. We finished the meal with espresso, biscotti and tiramisu. As we left the hostess came over to thank us and asked how everything was. We will definitely return!

Phenomenal food! On vacation here and came upon this hidden gem!! We had the calamari and bruschetta to start which were both out of this world with unique flavours! Entrees we ordered included the bolognese pasta, the gnocchi, and the tartufo e pollo. All of us thoroughly enjoyed them!! The flavours were authentic and the pasta was cooked to perfection. For dessert we shared the Francesca, which was plentiful, and the ice cream was very creamy! Absolutely delicious! Thanks to our server Kevin who was friendly, cordial, helpful, and truly amazing! And thanks to Tanya for allowing these Ontarians to "walk in" on a Saturday evening! Highly recommend and would definitely return here!! I would rate it a 6 if I could!

We hosted a private dinning event here for our wedding rehearsal dinner on August 25 2023 (~30 people). The food and atmosphere was perfect, the owner Tanya was so responsive in helping us select our event menu and our beverage selection. I couldn't recommend this restaurant enough for a planning a larger family function. Our server Kelly did a lovely job taking care of everyone. I personally had the Rombo (halibut) dish for my entree and it was excellent. The blue berry take on tiramisu also received high marks from myself and everyone who tried it. Our welcome margarita... Wow, it was spectacular, many commented that it was best they have ever had, including some who have gone to finer Mexican establishments. Thank you for playing a in the lead up to the best day of our lives :)

Went to this restaurant with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. The service & environment were great but the food was so bad. First of all, bread wasn’t serve with olive oil and vinegar. Even worst, they were plain & cold. It really doesn’t look like a fine dining level. Then my husband’s Angus beef was overcooked and my truffle pasta has no truffles favour. It just looked like a cream sauce with chicken. I won’t recommend this restaurant to my friend.

Overall a very nice dinner in a comfortable setting. The food was good - nothing exceptional, but good. The service was very good, friendly and professional. A pretty good wine list with some unique bottles from Italy. A good choice for a nice dinner out in Halifax.

My favorite restaurant for any occasion, they always make the experience feel so special! They have the best Italian food in Halifax, and honestly the best food I’ve had anywhere. I will always come back here.

Honestly one of the best resturant expirences my boyfriend and I have had to date. The staff our waiter (Jon) was extremely pleasant and made us feel extremely welcomed. You're hostess was also super friendly and super attentive. Forgot to take pictures as everything was so mouth watering and fresh! Thank you!

We were at what use to be my favorite restaurant. Not anymore. Food came after over an hour of serving. We did have appetizers, thank God. Our food finally came out and mine was cold and my husband's was just warm. He did not have his sent back but I did. By the time I got it, my husband was finished. Perhaps if the waiter didn't spend so much time chatting with the table beside us, our food would have been hot. It was not overly busy, it was a Monday. We spent over 200.00 with poor service and cold food so I called the manager on Tuesday evening. She was great, or I thought. She said she wanted to refund the whole amount and I stated this was not why I called. I felt the manager needed to know to perhaps discuss and train this server better, so this would not happen again. At the end, I did agree to take a certificate what she felt reasonable and she was emailing it to me after close that night, and still received nothing. For a manager, do not promise to do something and not follow through. We paid good money for a terrible experience which has never happened before. Very disappointing.

Perfect experience! The atmosphere and service were both great. The bread was fluffy. My mojito was made well. I don't like gnocchi but I ordered it because it was the only vegetarian meal, and it was amazing. The chocolate cheesecake was very rich but good to share. It's pricey but certainly worth it.

This was the best steak I've had ever and I'm from Alberta! The food was delicious, service was incredible (Scott our waiter was awesome) and it was the best meal I've had all year 😊

Food was delicious, staff were amazing besides a few mishaps, it happens. All of the wine glasses had water marks and one had a lipstick stain, so I do suggest for a fine dining restaurant that they polish their wine glasses. Overall pretty good

I was excited to try this place after seeing many positive reviews. I was disappointed with the experience. The hostess was polite and helpful. Our server seemed inexperienced and at times dismissive. The wine I received did not look or taste like what I had ordered and when I brought this to the server’s attention, she dismissed my concern and offered no replacement. We ordered calamari and arancini for appetizers. The calamari was delicious. I had the tartufo e pollo pasta for a main dish and found it to be very bland. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and we will not be back.

Very nice restaurant, not too noisy and food is very delicious and we were served pretty quickly.

Consistent, professional fine dining in Halifax. Have been here several times over the years, for birthdays or just a nice meal out and am never disappointed. Excellent service. Delicious pastas, mains, appetizers & desserts. Good wine selection. Simple bit elegant vibe, and not too noisy. I will always recommend here to anyone looking for a nice evening out.
