Best place for a walk. Very clean and quiet environment. You can have fresh and clean air. Very calm and best place to visit for a mood fix. 😌 while you walk you can enjoy free dancing from squirrels 🐿 and rabbits🐇. Scenic views from long lake. I love to visit more and more here.

Absolutely beautiful park and very relaxing. I spent about 5 hours there and I had a nice relaxing time away from the business of the city. There’s lots of wildlife, and clean lake for swimming. I definitely would recommend it.

It's beautiful place to for quiet time and short hike plus the near the lake you can rent kayak. It's located just 15-20 min away from Downtown Halifax, you can come by bus as well. The lake is kids friendly with plenty of place to sit and enjoy the calm water.

It is so nice to have parks like this so close to everything in the city. It is just a few minutes from many residential areas in Halifax and it is easy to reach. There are many good parking spots. I walked the park in the winter, but I expect it would be even nicer in the summer as there are beaches and places where you could swim. The trails are well groomed and easy to walk on. there are a few hills but most of the trails are flat and smooth. Most of the trails are through wooded areas but a lot of them are close to the lake as well. It is worth it to continue around to the dam and the sluce ways.

Trail can be a bit confusing, lots of branches, forks, and cut throughs. Clean. Lots to look at. Was quiet May 1st. On 5k hike over an hour and a half, saw 4 people. Paths are rooty, some cool streams and rivers that are bridged over. Lots there to keep someone interested poking around with all the routes to explore. GPS worked fine there with Alltrails.

I live a 4 minute walk from her and so it's like having a lake inj my backyard. Its GREAT for swimming, with many spots along the trails to stop AND take a dip and the waters great! But, it is very 4OCKY on the beaches and in the water. Water shoes or sandals recommended if youre there to lounge and tan and dip. Theres a rental kayak business too. Get prices to go paddle the lake. And at the spryfield trail end, you can see the old dam. Very awesome to camp out on the beaches at night, or the forest if you like. During hot summer days, the lake is busy. Theres A LOT OF LITTLE beaches but anywhere close to the main entrance, to blue lberry beach entrance to spryfield entrance are usually taken. I fish. And you can catch bass, brooke trout and eels here. That's what I have faith here before. But not many actual catches as it takes a long time.

If you ignore the tall buildings in the horizon, it feels like you’re way out in the woods! I did the kayak rentals with some friends and it was great! They supplied kayaks, life jackets and let us leave a few small items (keys, etc) in their hut while out on the water.

Well maintained trail and great views. This is an amazing spot to enjoy the sunset. The trail is quite long but with frequent spots to sit and rest. There is an ample spaces for cars in the parking lot too. Great place will regularly go there for sure.

Lovely park. On leash dog park, pea Gravel walking/biking/running trails. Recommend for summer swimming and to take your dog for a swim. Shores are a little rocky.

Long lake is definitely one of my favourite lakes for swimming, probably #1. It's absolutely ginormous, and is surrounded by flat rocks for lounging. Also a great spot for hiking the perimeter of the lake. Also having it be a 10 min drive from downtown makes it pretty unbeatable.

Very pretty park, with lots of trails, swimming areas, rocks to sit on, and it is within the HRM. Unfortunately, there didn't appear to be any infrastructure such as seating areas, playgrounds, benches, bathrooms, etc. If it is your first time going here, be aware of that and plan accordingly.

This is spring. For the best view, you have to go inside and close to the water. I wish there were a place for a group of people to put a tent, and picnic.

A trail lover's dream come true. So many places to visit and do many different ways it can change depending on the time of year so the main trail is never boring. Great for biking, walking, running and ATVb lovers. Tip : The loops (off main trail) are super fun but watch out for bear and moose

A beautiful lake to chill and hike at. The water is nice and warm in summers as well. Though you have to find a spot there, it doesn't have designated seating areas like beaches
