We
stay
at
the
Prince
George
for
its
location.
It's
within
tens
to
a
few
hundred
metres
of
everything.
If
coming
for
hotel
amenities,
on
the
other
hand,
then
maybe
stay
somewhere
else,
unless
you
happen
to
snag
a
Prince
George
room
at
an
Hampton
Inn
price,
which
is
possible.
If
you
go
by
first
impressions,
then
the
Prince
George
will
disappoint.
The
street
level
is
stuffed
with
paid
parking
and
a
taxi
stand,
so
if
the
three
spots
in
front
of
the
hotel
are
full,
as
they
were
for
our
visit,
then
you
are
stuck
as
there
was
no
concierge
or
valet
on
duty.
Once
we
parked
and
carried
our
bags
inside
we
were
surprised
to
find
the
lobby
absolutely
empty,
except
us
and
three
staff
standing
behind
computers
at
the
reception
desk.
We
went
to
the
one
not
talking
on
the
phone
and
was
advised
one
of
the
other
staff
would
check
us
in
when
they
were
available.
Best
to
leave
the
hotel
if
looking
for
a
bar,
restaurant
or
even
breakfast.
There
is
a
bar,
but
it
is
a
shoe
box
behind
the
elevators.
There
is
a
restaurant,
but
it
was
closed
to
hotel
guests
due
to
a
private
function.
There
is
a
breakfast
area
within
the
lobby,
but
for
$50
per
couple
you'll
do
much
better
within
tens
of
metres
of
the
hotel
and
frankly
it
wasn't
that
much
better
than
the
complimentary
breakfast
you
get
at
some
American-style
hotels.
Maybe
it
is
the
pandemic
-
the
stripped
down
service
and
indifferent
attitude.
We
had
a
much
better
experience
when
we
stayed
at
the
George
pre-pandemic.
Hopefully,
one
day
it
will
find
its
former
self.
