My girlfriend and I went for a weekend to view the amazing city of Halifax. We had a really nice girl named Emma who worked the front desk check us in and she gave us some fantastic suggestions for classic east coast fare. The room was clean and the beds were soo comfy! My only complaint is we found the breakfast area to be pretty expensive so we went down the road instead. Overall, the staff were super friendly, the parking garage was easy access from the street, and the hotel was at a perfect spot to tour the wonderful city. Thanks again Emma for the suggestions on best places to visit and eat! We had such a great weekend.

We stay at the Prince George for its location. It's within tens to a few hundred metres of everything. If coming for hotel amenities, on the other hand, then maybe stay somewhere else, unless you happen to snag a Prince George room at an Hampton Inn price, which is possible. If you go by first impressions, then the Prince George will disappoint. The street level is stuffed with paid parking and a taxi stand, so if the three spots in front of the hotel are full, as they were for our visit, then you are stuck as there was no concierge or valet on duty. Once we parked and carried our bags inside we were surprised to find the lobby absolutely empty, except us and three staff standing behind computers at the reception desk. We went to the one not talking on the phone and was advised one of the other staff would check us in when they were available. Best to leave the hotel if looking for a bar, restaurant or even breakfast. There is a bar, but it is a shoe box behind the elevators. There is a restaurant, but it was closed to hotel guests due to a private function. There is a breakfast area within the lobby, but for $50 per couple you'll do much better within tens of metres of the hotel and frankly it wasn't that much better than the complimentary breakfast you get at some American-style hotels. Maybe it is the pandemic - the stripped down service and indifferent attitude. We had a much better experience when we stayed at the George pre-pandemic. Hopefully, one day it will find its former self.

Overall I had a comfortable stay. The hotel is showing some signs of age, but nothing concerning or off-putting. The mini fridge in my room made a terrible high-pitch noise when it would run β€” the type of noise that feels headache-inducing. I ended up unplugging it at night before going to bed so that I could sleep undisturbed.

Pillows are big and round and huge. I think if offering 4 pillows offer some flatter ones for back sleepers as well since it’s impossible to sleep on them as a back sleeper. Hallway and rooms showing it’s age - but not bad. Amazing location and we had a limited view harbour facing room so no street noise. HVAC and upstairs shower were clearly audible though.

Have to share...Hotel was clean and that was all! It was our very first time visiting Halifax, beautiful city, however the racist undertones we felt/experienced during our entire stay at this hotel was mind blowing! We did not feel welcomed at all, and we we so uncomfortable from the beginning. Always dreaded coming back to the hotel each day. How we hoped for the option to seek another place for accommodation but unfortunately was stuck. We are frequent travelers but never had such an awful & hurtful experience during any hotel stay until now! Sad to know that such behavior is still so blatant in 2022. Of course we will never go back and will never recommend this hotel...

Good quality hotel in good location downtown halifax. Easy access to Monument hill. The waterfront is downhill about 2-3 blocks. Nice indoor pool. Breakfast was about $20, not included but a pretty good value. It is included if your in a suite. Self parking in underground hotel garage was $24. with elevator into hotel.

Excellent hotel, the suites are very nice and great for an anniversary or special occasion. But you get what you pay for too. Disappointed that at the price I'm paying for the room, the parking was extra. Views can be good depending on the room. Ours looked at the Keg.

Probably my best hotel experience ce in Halifax. Very clean rooms, friendly staff, nice pool. Great value for staying downtown.

We loved our stay at the Prince George Hotel. The location was fantastic, you were within walking steps of restaurants, bars, the citadel, and just a few blocks from the waterfront. The check in was easy and the gentleman was so friendly. The room was spacious, clean, and just as it appears online. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Although you are across the street from a lot of action in downtown, Halifax, the windows sealed out any of the noise. The bathroom was clean and recently upgraded with great water, pressure and Aveda products for use. And last, the staff were so friendly. I would absolutely stay here again.

We recently spent 4 nights at this very pleasing hotel on our first trip to the East Coast. Great location in the heart of Halifax , very walkable to the local attractions. The room was clean and well equipped, even had a huge shaving/make up mirror that I miss already ! The staff, from the front desk, to the doormen, to the room maids were top quality people and a true asset to this establishment. Gio restaurant is a must go ! The food and drink were very satisfying. Our server was an absolute blast, friendly and knowledgeable, (I believe her name was Isabel ?) The Level Bar is a nice place for drinks & lunch and we even had dinner on the Happy Hour specials ! Thank you Austin for your pleasant service. We would love to return for another stay as Halifax is truly a grand place to visit !

Great stay at Halifax. Close to everything, walking distance, especially Halifax Citadel. Spacious and clean room, reasonable price if book early. Nice lobby area and convenient underground parking downstairs for a fee. The breakfast comes with a fee in the restaurant downstairs, there is also a bar. You can tell the age on this hotel but very well maintained. Friendly staff and good service.

The service here was incredible everyone was so friendly. In a perfect location in downtown Halifax if you don't have a car as you can walk around. The hot tub and pool was so relaxing and nice. The sauna was amazing as well I didn't even know they had one. I would absolutely stay here again this is my favourite hotel in the city of Halifax.

To update my first review; It was Mary M. who had taken my reservation and sold me on this hotel. Thank you Mary The night was great! Even received a goodie bag for the dog with treats, bowl and blanket etc. Very kind gesture Will recommend and return

Stayed two nights, the hotel is old but nice and clean. Excellent location. Very expensive , but all the hotels in that area are so it was on par with them. My only issue was our bathroom reeked of smoke, like someone had been smoking in there for years. Also the guy at the front desk was very nice, helpful and and polite but had absolutely filthy fingernails. I k now it seems odd to complain about that but it’s a very nice hotel and it was just something small that kind of put us off. Other than that I would visit again.

My partner and I arrived in Halifax late on a Tuesday night to find our Airbnb in a state that was uninhabitable. We huddled together on a dark street searching our phones for hotels, deciding on The Prince George. We arrived at the front desk at midnight, bedraggled and exhausted. It's high season so they were quite full yet they found a room for us and even matched the rate from Expedia! Their staff was amazing - from the people at the front desk to the servers at the bar and lounge, to the housekeeping staff - they were all friendly and accommodating. Our room was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The location was just right for us - within walking distance to the water, restaurants and shops. There are two patios beside the indoor pool. One was gorgeous and cozy with little firepits and sofas to have a nightcap in the evening and watch the sun go down. The other side was perfect for lunch under an umbrella in the afternoon. Although we didn't use the pool or hot tub, we poked our heads in to have a look and they were very clean. We had breakfast at the hotel only one morning, but it was good and reasonably priced. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and I highly recommend this hotel!

Perfect location to be. Walking distance to the boardwalk, the citadel and the public gardens. Close to several pubs and restaurants for dining options. Room was comfortable and clean. Hotel itself is modern and well maintained. Staff service was one of the best. Polite and on point. Comparable to The Ritz (DC). I mentioned in my booking that this was a honeymoon trip and we were given charcuterie and bubbly at our room. Breakfast is $20 for buffet or menu. We choose the buffet since Eggs Benedict was one of the egg options plus fruits, cereal, and breakfast meats selection. Pool: call the front desk at least 20min and ask to turn on the hot tub so it's sure to be ready when you come down to enjoy.

Great location, but with that comes noise. Music from the bar nearby could be heard from the room late into the night (past 1am) on a Sunday night - we only stayed one night so not sure how it is on other nights. Room was clean and bed was super comfortable. Bathroom water pressure was awesome! Good products too.

Excellent location, spacious, clean and well-appointed rooms, but above all, remarkable customer service. Ours was a brief stay but our needs and requests were accommodated with kindness and our comfort in mind. We will come back and recommend The Prince George Hotel to everyone and anyone we know.

Excellent location and very friendly service. Beds were very comfortable and room was clean. Though I did not use nice gym and pool and dry sauna. Would definitely return.

The hotel and staff are amazing 🀩 rooms were clean and comfy. The hotel lounge has happy hour 4:30 to 6:30 … $8 sangria πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½.they were very accommodating and gave an early check in.

The only real perk of this hotel is the location. Otherwise it's incredibly loud, day and night, both from guests, staff, and nightclubs. Every noise in the hallway comes into your room and every noise from outside does as well. This is fine if you're out the entire day and night, but bring earplugs and an eye mask or sleep is impossible. It's dressed up like a high end hotel but the service and vibe doesn't fit. Room was small, bed was firm, and the pillows were like couch cushions, too thick and hard.

12/10 experience at the Prince George Hotel! The rooms were clean, the location was prime and the atmosphere created by the lovely staff was phenomenal! Shoutout to the bartenders at Levelbar- especially Isaiah who went above and beyond to take care of our group and ensure we had the most fun and positive experience visiting Halifax for the first time. Give these guys a raise!! Will definitely be coming back.

We were able to book a room here last minute (after a bit of a disaster at another hotel). The staff were really helpful in finding us a room and at reception. The room was clean and the bed was very big. We didn’t have much time to explore the hotel but it had a nice looking pool and gym. It’s very centrally located and was easy to walk from the hotel to the water. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Halifax!

The staff was great - quick, courtesy and efficient. Both on check-in and check-out. The bar and wait staff great, as well. The lobby was beautiful. However, our β€œdeluxe” king was pretty basic. It was dingy. There was obvious water damage around the window. And around the ceiling in the shower. I won’t bother to go in for the deluxe king if we decide to stay there again.

Our stay at the Prince George was our third in the past year. This time, it was in the king executive suite. It was definitely worth the money. The room was very clean, spacious, bed was comfortable, and the whirlpool was fantastic. The service was top notch from all the staff we encountered. Our breakfast from the buffet was fresh and delicious. My wife has already talked about returning. :)

Hotel beds were so comfortable..water pressure a treat... shampoo and conditioner built-in the shower and smells awesome...towels were huge...hot tub ,pool, and sauna was definitely a great time...and so relaxing...front desk happy to help in anyway they delivered 4wine glasses for us to have drinks... slightly disappointed that there was only 2 take away cups for coffee..and only 2 bottles of water available to us but 4 of us staying....the ice machine was beside us so convenient....lots of towels at the pool to use.. exercise room above pool...all around great stay here.. definitely return.

Had a blast b'y! Sauna wasn't working, but had a good swim in the pool. No code browns the whole time I was there. Room service was great. Got on the beers and tore the arse right off 'er. Will be back!

Snuck away for a night without our kids to celebrate our 5 year anniversary! The Prince George made it memorable. We utilized the valet services which was reasonable, quick, and very friendly. The location was perfect! We went for a swim in the morning and the pool was the perfect temperature. We also enjoyed the best eggs Benedict! 10/10 and we can't wait to return.

Stayed at the Prince George for our anniversary. The room was well appointed, however, there was garbage on the floor from the last guests (food wrappers, bottle caps). The walls were paper thin, and the guests in the next room partied until 4 am, wandering the halls between rooms, yelling, one was slumped against the door of their room in the hall. We finally got to sleep, only to have the same noise start again at 10 am. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. Overall, I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a nice stay for a special day, suggest paying a bit more and staying next door at Sutton Place.

Even the entry level rooms are beautifully appointed, include a mini fridge, iron and ironing board. Beside the bed is a docking station for devices making it handy to charge in the night. Our 3rd floor room had peak-a-boo views of the water. The happy hour in the lobby bar and outdoor seating area is a great perk. The white wine on the menu is good, the food choices are really well priced with large portions. We were especially impressed with the shrimp salad and steamed mussel offerings. This hotel is well priced and well placed for walkability in the city. A great choice!

My daughter's wedding was at this hotel. Everything was lovely. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The wedding cake was late arriving and the hotel provided a cake for cutting, the Wedding cake arrived in the nick of time, but still the set up staff were so considerate and went above and beyond. The meal was beautifully presented and delicious. The outside patio was roomy and had nice plants for background for photos, there was also a cityscape for photos as well. A very clean, very lovely hotel, I'd recommend it for Weddings, it is also well placed for touring Halifax.

We stayed here for eight days in May 2022. The rooms were great. The pool and gym were also good. The location is close to many restaurants and bars and a liquor store. I feel like we didn't take advantage of the amenities... We only realized that there was a concierge at the end of our stay. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ We were at the restaurant only once for breakfast. It was just kinda ok, but definitely convenient. Room service was really good. Order the chicken club sandwich! We were initially frustrated talking to the (younger) front desk staff who didn't offer many suggestions in terms of where we could go to eat other than suggesting to "walk around and check things" out for ourselves. However, we did end up chatting with Craig, who sometimes worked the front desk, and he was incredibly helpful, charming and made our visit much better by offering specific suggestions. Anytime we saw him we were sure to ask him questions because of his very good and helpful advice! Seriously Craig, you are really great at your job. Thanks so much for your help throughout the week ☺️

We love shooting at the Prince George Hotel! As wedding photographers, we can 100% say this venue is awesome. The decor is beautiful, the food is excellent, the staff are extremely helpful, and the all-around experience for any of our couples that have booked this as their venue has been top-notch. We even shot a wedding here during hurricane Dorian and they were seriously prepared. Didn't even lose power, and we took advantage of all the pedways to get still get awesome portraits! We highly recommend The Prince George as a wedding venue - you won't be disappointed!

Very nice suites. It's not luxury by any means but if your looking for really good service and a very nice place to stay, with a great restaurant and amazing food and drinks. Then you won't be disappointed. Go on tourist off season as I'm sure it can get quite busy here.

This hotel has been located in perfect sport. Walking distance to everything. They have the best roof top restaurant which we really enjoyed. Their pool is pretty fun as well. Nice and warm pool water.

This is actually a very nice hotel. Our room, although a bit small, had something I rarely find - TWO comfortable club chairs. It also had a nice harbor view. BUT - the hotel put two "authorization" charges on my credit card - incredibly, one of them was for $1.63. It has been more than two weeks since they did this, and my calls to the hotel have been fruitless. I have had to initiate a dispute with my credit card company, and it is yet to be resolved. I find this totally unacceptable.

Phenomenal all around! I can’t say enough good things about this establishment. Many in nova scotia should take note. I would give it more stars if I could. Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing rooms, amazing location.

King size bed was incredibly comfortable; plush and firm. The glass shower head was directed to far wall for start, appreciated that touch. Valet during off season at $34 was very reasonable and quick professional service. City view executive room was spacious and we loved rhe perks of Terry robes, snack room access, wine red and white (in fridge) in room for additional cost of $29 were delightful bonuses. We had a nightcap at the levelbar; the dessert and drinks were a very fine luxury. Get the makers rule on the mule cocktail! Especially pleasant treat... eggs Benedict option for breakfast buffet (included for suite stays and only $9-10 to add), yum!! Service was really πŸ‘Œ πŸ”₯ impressed with all the staff we encountered during our stay. Good help and great service has been such a rarity post covid.

Had a nice stay at the Prince George but I was surprised that they didn't have any food or snack options for a guest before 4pm. I was hungry and I had to leave the hotel to go find food. Additionally the rooms were not clean enough for my liking. The bathroom vanity mirror was covered in dust and so was the tissue box. Gross to be honest.

Great location that's within walking distance of everything in downtown Halifax. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room came with a complementary breakfast but due to COVID was closed. It was honoured at their restaurant and wasn't to be billed to the room. Upon checkout it was billed to us but a quick call to the front desk got that all sorted out. Would recommend.

Every staff member seemed like they genuinely cared about us. The cleaning staff even knew our names and greeted us in the hallways. Front desk staff were unanimously friendly and helpful. Well worth the small premium for outstanding service.
