Chocolate Lake Park & Beach

Tourist attraction Park

👍👍 Chocolate Lake is a great lake to go for a swim in, or a nice sandy beach to just lounge around in. The sandy space is fairly small so you'll have to make sure to get there early. The lake is an old mine, and is fairly lifeless. It feels like you're swimming in a giant swimming pool. Great if you're... People often mention beach, lake, small, park,

Chocolate Lake is a great lake to go for a swim in, or a nice sandy beach to just lounge around in. The sandy space is fairly small so you'll have to make sure to get there early. The lake is an old mine, and is fairly lifeless. It feels like you're swimming in a giant swimming pool. Great if you're not a fan of seaweed and other gross lake creatures.

A beautiful place for swimming and we had quite the swim! The park is lovely for children as well. The lifeguards have their hands full as this park can become quite populated! A popular destination!

Love this park and especially the lake. It’s the most beautiful lake in the heart of Halifax. The park has great washrooms, a playground for kids, a basketball court and a tennis court. There is a beach for swimming and it is a popular place for the community during the hotter weather.

Nice little get away in the city. Beach is small and rocky but the water was clean and cool.

Loved this beach but the negative point is that its too small. Water is warm and clear during summers and beach can be extremely crowded sometimes. Parking can be a bit of pain during peak seasons but you can park somewhereon street. Lake could be deceiving as shallow but it could be deep at some places so be cautious if you can't swim. Overall a good spot for summer.

This beach is a dump. There is garbage everywhere including dirty needles and broken glass. We didn’t even sit down.

Great lake for floating around. No motorized watercraft, so it's quiet. Lots of long-distance swimmers, too.

I love that its small and not overly crowded. Was able to enjoy some swimming and sunshine!

Very nice place. There is a small beach with sands and life guards so you can swim safely. Bring your own chair and equipment though

Soft sand beachs, paddle boats and wake boarding. The water is so clear and is surrounded by luscious trees and lots of places for private picnics or swims. We love to go here, plus you can always play a game of ball before your swim. Basketball courts just at the entrance.

It’s a nice looking lake.. but there are too many people there and it smells atrocious during the summer

We stopped hoping to find a picnic table and use it for a bite but couldn't find one. Locals seems to come to this park for the beach. There is a hidden beach attached.
