We were disappointed. I know the Laval, QC jack Astor and I was expecting the same taste and the same food than Quebec...but no. It tasted like fast food, for example Wendy's. For 100$ bill, it's not worth it. Very disappointed.

Had a reservation, sat on the patio table and chairs were dirty, waitress acted like we were imposing upon her time. She never returned to check on how our food was, just showed up 30 minutes later asked if we were done. We order desert and she acted like that was asking to much. For 138.00 bill I expect better service and a waitress who is a little more personable.

Nice place to be with friends. 20.00 of wings didn't feel worth it; the bones of the drumsticks cracked as I was eating the meat. Flavour was lovely. The pasta dishes seemed to be where the value for quality of food was. White wine sangria was delicious and the staff were so so nice 😁

Tried a 'fish bowl' drink...it was a little sweet (mine was the blue one) and I think the drink may possibly fit it a regular glass (perhaps the 18oz beer glass) if you eliminated all the ice!

The food was great, a little pricey, but worth it. No lunch specials, nice atmosphere.

Friendly, knowledgeable server who made us feel welcome. Drinks were delivered on a timer matter, and delicious. What you would expect from a pub/chain restaurant. Price point was average, and would recommend to anyone who wants a good meal.

Sammy was awesome! Friendly, read back our order to ensure accuracy, the atmosphere was great! The staff was also very helpful with my mom who needs a walker.

Was my first time here and we really enjoyed it! I got The Memphis steak, and everything tasted good. I love their mushroom gravy with their steak so much! The crunchy onions and mushrooms were cooked perfectly, just the steak was a little bit too hard and dry. My bf got the bbq burger, and it was tasty. The big plus for him was the beer, cuz they have Propeller Galaxy on tap. He really enjoyed his food and beer. We also got the chicken fingers to share, omg I’m gonna say that their chicken finger prob is my top 1 in town... it was so juicy, tinder, and delicious!!!! They also have so many flavors for their chicken fingers, def big recommend!!! We definitely had a good time there, love the decor and the atmosphere! We love watching sports, so 100% will go back to get some chicken fingers and beer. The server was very nice as well. Big recommend to everyone! (-1 ⭐️ just cuz the steak was not perfect, but everything was good)

It would've been a higher review if wasn't for the insect in my friends food. A small fly was in her fries. The management was great about it and comped her food, and what we had was good, but the bug kinda ruined the afternoon.

Dined here tonight & Kyle was taking care of us. He was knowledgeable of the menu & able to recommend options for dietary restrictions, very attentive and kind. Checked in enough that we felt like we were taken care of but not too much that it was annoying. Looking forward to coming back

Didn't have the best time at this location, the servers seemed to be more interested in flirting with a manager than being attentive to guests. In our 40 minutes dining experience we saw our waitress( who didn't introduce herself) twice; once for drinks and once when our bill was ready. We had no one check in on us during our meal, ask how our drinks were tasting, nothing. Which was odd because I could see her standing next to a manager or "boss" of some kind, flirting with him and ignoring guests. Thankfully the food was a redeeming quality of our visit as everything taste wise was fantastic (except for the guacamole, that had an "off" taste).

Went there for Lunch, Friday May 12, Had the Chicken Club skin on, the bun and flavours were good, the skin kind of, was off putting not cooked crispy. Ceasar salad was nice too. My wife had the Thai Sesame Chicken Stir-fry and got the Crispy Chicken upgrade, she found it tasty and a good sized portion , however we found it pricy for the quality! Staff were friendly and attentive. It was nice to have the patio option for service even though it was a little windy and cool!

Randomly walked into Jack Astor's for the first time and my friend and I absolutely loved our experience. The waitress was amazing, the food and drinks were great. It was fairly busy but that didn’t delay anything of ours.

Went with the fam after a busy day of cleaning/moving. I didn’t get pics of the girls meals but one had a Asiago Chicken bow tie pasta dish and the other the sauces and tossed chicken fingers which apparently they are famous for. I had the Pad Thai and my partner had the crispy chicken sandwich with a side Caesar. Server was soft spoken so hard to hear her amongst the busy restaurant. The table we had was either lopsided or the floor was “caved”. Overall food was great and enjoyed by everyone. Pad Thai was a bit of a surprise as I didn’t expect a western restaurant to serve a decent Thai dish. Could have used a bit of Sriracha ;)

Stopped in with the kiddos. It's a nice place to grab a bite. Kids had options and adults had options. Gary served us and was a good waiter. Prompt service. Good food. Good atmosphere.

Myself and best friend decided to stop here after the Xmas show at the forum, we arrived around 3pm it was a little slow, we ordered appetizers and drinks, the food came, the lobster crab dip was on point as usual, the chips with it were chewy, as if stale, the nachos were cold and cheese congealed. And we received 2 tablespoons of salsa. The wings we ordered tossed in mild sauce were naked. When we asked for the wings to be tossed, we felt we put our server out, by asking. With over 100 $ spent, I don't feel we were asking for much when we asked for our wings to be delivered the way we requested. The fact we had to get her attention from another table as she didn't come to ask if we needed anything or were enjoying or that we didn't ask her for a couple of side plates so we could share the appetizers (we got them ourselves) I'm disappointed to say the least, had they been packed I would have certainly understood. Do better!!

We had a pretty great night here. The atmosphere keeps our toddler entertained to sit through a dinner out, the new nacho dish was really great and the staff was friendly. The steak quality was pretty meh for the price, but there are lots of other tasty dishes.

Warning, the 3 stars are just solely on the price, the food quality was great but did not fill me or my family. Ok So, my wife and I drove to Halifax to pick up her mother at the Air port. We stopped here for lunch. Nice set up and ambiance, the waitress was very polite and serviceful. Food was deicious, but for the price did not match the portion, it did not fill me up and my wife and her mom said the same about their meals. I had the Pad Thai, wife had the Poutine and my Mother in Law the Won Ton nachos? Over 20 bucks each meal, closer to 30 and we were all hungry for more but the price we were expecting a little more. Maybe it is inflation, I know it's not easy but how else can anyone stay afloat. Maybe it was a one-off.

1. Ordered medium rare steak and got burnt one. I wanted to let them know (what medium rare should be), but waitress never turned back to our table, but just for the payment. Never asked us how the food was. Most horrible steak I ate which had no flavor, other than burnt taste on every bite. 2. COLD FOOD: We saw our food was ready at the counter after 15 minutes. But it arrived after 25 minutes. Guess what! The food was COLD... we had to eat cold steak, cold fries, super cold potato mash etc. 3. RATS: This place is filled with rats !!! While we were waiting for 25 minutes for our food, my wife showed me few rats running and playing over the floor. 4. Gave us few drops of ketchup for both our meals in a small paper cup. Guess what... no waitress to be seen to ask for more.. We tried to wave to get attention. But they were smart enough to look other way. This is one place we will never step in... ever... We regret our visit last night 🙁. We would have walked away when we saw the rats, but this was the only place that was open late in that area.

Food is consistently decent but seems the restaurant is falling into disrepair. Went with a group recently and sat in a large booth where the leather was all peeling off. Came home find stains on my pants from what was left of the booth cushion.

Our server Madison was friendly and willing to help at every point. The holy smoke burger was very tasty and our group was able to order a large array of cocktails not found on the menu. The hostess was able to meet our needs despite a busy dinner service. Overall satisfied with the service and would return when in Halifax again.

Food and service were exceptional! Atmosphere only got four stars as the building itself was cold, my friend had to keep her jacket on while eating as it was just cold inside but everything else was great. Neat decor and delicious food! We had the Classic Handheld Burger, (love that this comes without cheese and bacon as I always get my burgers without, but the option to add is always appreciated) and the Chicken fingers (tried one of my friends and wow these are so filling definitely near the top of my list for best chicken fingers and I've had a lot. Will be my next order when I go back)!

Amazing food and service. I ordered the buffalo chicken burger. Comes on a potato bun and blue cheese. Was super delicious and cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the chicken club house and it was just as amazing in its own unique way. Everything on the menu looks really good and we will definitely be back to try it all. The servers always seem happy and very helpful. The place is great for kids too! Recommend this place for everyone

A family of five 2 adults 2 teenagers and 1 youth. Letting my younger son order his own meal (9yr old). Strips and fries. Once the meal was completed he was begging for his dessert that comes with every kids meal. Well the waiter kindly reminds him that he can get a dessert menu as he ordered from the adult menu. My bad for not specifically instructing my son to order from the proper menu. I'll make sure to improve his menu ordering skills. It was not the value but more principal. The Waiter was very clear on what the 9yr old ordered. Not only this but the shift manager was criticising the greeter harshly in the presence of everyone.

Decent place to eat with the menu labeled with gluten free options. It's a nice atmosphere and a typical sports bar style. Food was good but nothing spectacular. Had a burger with nacho. Sweet potatoes fries were great.

I don't think I've ever tipped less than 15% in my life, but I felt inspired to do so today. The server served 2/3 meals and forgot to bring the last meal. We had to ask for it after an uncomfortable amount of time. We could not hear the server at all. They spoke way too quietly. Server also took way too long for everything. Restaurant was not busy. Not a good experience.

Great lunch with the work crew. Friendly and very efficient service! Food was delicious with very generous servings. Fish & sweet potatoe fries was amazing! Two huge pieces of fish, meant one was coming home, my wife polished it off without a send glance or invitation!

Excellent service! Very friendly, welcoming and energetic staff! The food was delicious. Definitely a family favorite. Our nachos were done to perfection. My son devoured his fish and chips. My wife also enjoyed everything she had. Great atmosphere. There are many reasons why my family chooses Jack Astor's when we want something delicious, consistently. Thank you.
