I have never had worse food in my life. My boyfriend's cat wouldn't even eat it. Ordered pan fried dumplings they arrived just over hour ago (after waiting for 64 minutes) and I already have a belly ache. They were somehow hard, chewy, and soft at the same time. They came with dirty lettuce. After that I attempted one of the two egg rolls I bought - they were cold and the insides overly dry. I'm in college doing exam prep which is why I didn't cook anything tonight but I took time to write this in hopes that even one person doesn't get sick from here.

This restaurant is the worst restaurant i could ever visit. I apologise if I say here but the lady who was cooking, her apron was never washed since 1942 … I was concerned about the sanitary and hygiene of the place, I’m wondering how did the critique approve this place - im assuming the food must be unhealthy too. AND the blinds of the windows were closed, we went on and opened it, she came to us and questioned us, “Did you open the blinds?” I was like “Umm.. was I not suppose to..” since the weather outside was super nice. She went on - “You are not suppose to open it” I politely said, you should mention it though, that we aren’t suppose to, then she said “now that i am saying, the answer would be no” I was super uncomfortable and wanted to leave the place, i had ordered a coffee and left it and still paid for it. We wanted to order much from there however when i saw hair clinging on the apron the cook was wearing also her daughter’s customer service. it was much better i must leave!! If you’re questioning yourself about going there, you sure can ONLY IF YOU WANT TO TRAUMATISE YOURSELF. No wonder I saw no one in the restaurant except me lol One start is only so i can review, otherwise I’d give 0 stars or less than that! WORST WORST WORST

Worst restaurant ever. Ordered on uber eats, Chow mein is not even close to noodles, ginger beef is greasy and soggy, got a hair in that. Not worth for above $40. Foods are unhealthy especially the oil quality, I shouldve reported to food health authorities

Typical Chinese food in halifax. Soggy and sweet, no seasoning, no flavor. Just soggy syrup drenched badly fried meat. It's amazing so many of these shitholes survive in the hrm...

Cantonese chow mein is awesome. I have eaten at this place since they were in lakeside and I gotta say, their food is excellent. Last time I visited I ordered a coffee. Wow one of the best coffees I ever had!!!

I really enjoy Chinese food. This has to be one of THE best I have had in some time. The stir fry was cooked just right. Vegetables still had some stiffness but but to crunchy. Rice was great, not sticky or burnt but fluffy and yummy. Ribs were fall off the bone tender and not a lot of fat as is usually the case at other establishments. Chicken balls were nice and meaty with just enough batter to say they were battered. Last but not least the eggrolls we're of the meaty variety not vegetables. All around excellent meal. Highly recommend.

Soggy and no taste.. I ordered with Uber Eats and wish I read the reviews. While the price is *okay* and the portions *ok* the taste and packaging was just awful… I should’ve stuck with Manchu Wok.. which should tell you a lot since it’s a Mall Chinese Restaurant… the batter literally fell off the ginger beef in the worst way, it was so soggy. Every dish tasted the same due to the lack of flavour. I’ll never be ordering again.

Placed my order at 930, was ready for pickup at 940. Ordered a ginger beef combo plate, with chicken fried rice and a spring roll. The ginger beef was crisp, sauce was mild and flavorful, portions were reasonable, and service was prompt. Would recommend again.

Ordered lunch combo. Food is decent enough for the price. Clean and nice place.

Very disappointing meals here so far. When the craving hits, and I'm in Bayers Lake, I have stopped by Sheng's a few times. However, each time it has been pretty disappointing. I don't think I will be returning. The food is pretty tasteless, can be soggy with sauce, and there's not a lot of it. The egg roll is ok, but there's better around HRM.

My first visit and last visit to this restaurant. Given I am from Toronto, I was expecting the same quality of food and service. The staff was not welcoming. The ginger beef was not stir fried but battered and covered with sweet sauce. Next time, I will remember to ask how the food is prepared before ordering.

Awful taste very expensive “Thai green curry” literally contains no curry and doesn’t resemble in any way the same dish ordered from any other restaurant. very disappointed

I'm pretty surprised about so many negative comments. IMO, this is the only good Chinese restaurant I want to visit again. The owner seems to be rude, but I only care about the food

Just have dinner with friends at this restaurant, the traditional Cantonese cuisine prepared by the chef from Guangzhou is delicious, and the price is good as well. Definitely will come again when visit Halifax next time

I always have a great experience here, the owner is really friendly everytime I come in. I typically order the Cantonese Chow Mein, it's delicious and the portion is big. Definitely would recommend to others.

Overall not my “cup of tea” 5/10. Order included 10 pan fried dumplings ($14.95), sweet and sour fish ($21.95)and a combination order that included mixed vegetables, general Tao chicken, egg roll and chicken fried rice ($18.95). Unable to attach photos 🙁. General Tao chicken and chicken fried rice were good, finished all of it🙂. Portion was small. Would still order again. 10/10 Egg roll 5/10: it was okay, wouldn’t order again. Sweet and sour fish 0/10 : Heavily battered and tasted soggy and undercooked. Not quite what I was expecting. Could not bring myself to swallow a single morsel. Will not order again or recommend. Meat and vegetable dumplings 4/10: Hard at the tips. The bottom and mid section were okay though. Filling was meat and veggies (probably would have been good if it were just vegetables). Would not order again or recommend. Mixed vegetables 5/10: Okay, just too much sauce for my liking. Would not order again Delivery service 10/10: Driver was very polite. I was advised that pricing on skip the Dishes was incorrect. Correct amount was $7.25, I paid $4.29 on app and paid ~$4.25 in person. So the math wasn’t adding up but I was too hungry to question it but this appears to be an error with the app and not the restaurant. Quality of food for the entire order 5/10 (I rounded up): I only finished fried rice and general Tao chicken. Everything was over-priced for average/ subpar food.

🫤 Overall experience was not pleasant. This was recommended by my friend, so we thought to give it a try. Bartenders was fantastic, very professional and helpful all around, however, the waitress on the other side was completely different. Not only she forget to check on our table for about 35 minutes...
